Paint your range hood. Alternative to replacing your range hood.

- I decided to update my range hood by painting it with rust-oleum paint. The end results were GREAT. Watch me as I complete this project. I'll share some helpful tips and some of the dos and don'ts I figured out during the process.

Looks good, I have the same range hood and I need to repaint because I did what you did, I used Easy off and the paint just rolled off. Thank you for sharing. I am ready to repaint and make it look good again.
This looks great .. I have had all my appliances replace with stainless. And I'm realizing my hood needs to be replaced and Amazon has them for $80 to $180 but I'm thinking I'll go this route. I'm glad I found your post.
It's definitely worth doing. Save your money all you need is $10-$15 in materials and a weekend. I also painted my refrigerator it turned out great, you should check out that video. Thanks for watching.
You may have trouble leaving the paint on the backside of that hood
so there's going to be an indention where it shows and the paint will go on differently on the two different surfaces

@@82RoseLyn you scared/reassured me, because after watching, I used a tiny bit of elbow grease on my hood, and the paint started coming off! Now I’m wondering if I should try to get it all off, like you did. Darn it, I don’t need a project right now!

That metallic paint is real hard to get off your skin.

I had to use mineral spirits to get it off, gloves would have saved me alot of hassle. Thanks for watching.

Well my taking off that paint looks to me like you have a stainless steel Hood there
I was horrified when that paint came off, luckily it all worked out. I guess if someone wanted to leave the raw metal and just put a protective coat on it they could. Mine had areas that had rust issues so painting it was the best way to go. Thanks for watching!
