The ride on the first gen Endy when unloaded isn’t great over bad roads. But it is far from being trash. The rear leaf springs were one of the downsides of this otherwise pretty comfortable car. I’ve driven and been in other body on frame SUVs and pickups, as well as monocoque hatchbacks and sedans and I must say I never felt more comfortable sitting inside those vehicles on bumpy roads. These BoF vehicles are very sensitive to tyre pressure, if you do it correct you can step up the ride quality miles more. The leaf sprung Endy is way better than the first gen Fortuner that has coil springs rear. The UA/UA2 suspension setup is definitely the upgrade that was needed from the first gen. As one who drives a 2006 Endy even today, I can confidently say it was really well engineered for its time, cost and the segment which it was based on. If you’re not over enthusiastic you can even have some fun in corners. I’m not joking, body roll is present but far, far less than the other counterparts and there’s no excessive pitching like in some SUVs My memories with the First gen Endy is great on and off-road. When I was in my early teens, our family as a whole had gone for a test drive in 2016 when the second gen was launched and enjoyed every bit of it. If I were to own a used SUV it’d be the 2nd gen Endy hands down, nothing comes close in VFM. I like to call it the budget Land Rover.
Sold my Endeavour (2020) bc my 4 year extended warranty ended in 2024, in my 4 years of ownership not a single problem with the car, Excellent ride ( extremely quiet & comfortable),excellent servicing by ford which costed less than the servicing cost of my Nexon. Bought the XUV 700 (AWD), regret it everyday.
@@sirishch both, XUV spends a lot of time at the workshop, manufacturing defects. Wasted a lot of time contacting people at Mahindra for the same, it's the perfect example of -looks can be deceiving
If you’re regretting your decision, I’d suggest you to go back and buy a used Endy in pristine condition, or if you’re looking for a brand new car without the niggles, wait some time to see what Ford India may offer for the Indian customers.
The rarest modern Ford in india ever, apart from the older cars like Mondeo, escort and fusion would be the ecosport facelift (without the Stepney)....... Also I thought the 3.2L was a 4 cylinder but I was wrong! Man after knowing that it was a 5 cylinder my love for endeavour has risen even more!
I always loved Endeavour over Fortuner! Never got chance to drive one though, but can imagine ride & handling as I own 2010 Fiesta SXi TDCi... Gem of the machine! Glad to see your ride on Evo India, Nikhil!!! Cheers👍
I was waiting for this one! But not all Endeavours that were offered in Indian market is seen in this video sadly 😢. But kudos to evo India for making this video! Endy is such and underrated and under appreciated car in the Indian market. It’s good that Ford stopped selling the Endy for some few years, this has made a huge impact in people’s mindsets.
as a person who has the endeavour 3.2 2018 model. I have driven it 1.86 lakhs, and I have even skipped my 10k service mark once and still the car runs like brand new, the service cost still comes between 10-13K (includes alignment and balancing also). and as a person who also has Fortuner 2020, Rubicon 2023, I have to give props, all my friends and my family and even me are extremely impressed by this car, and I can easily take on the debate why endeavour is much much better than the fortuner, my 2018 endy is still better than my latest 2020 fortuner.
Even I am the lucky fellow to buy the last piece of Ford Freestyle BS VI Diesel after their operational shut down in India. Had 2 new ford cars earlier. Currently owning Ford Fiesta Classic and Ford Freestyle both are bought as new cars from showroom. I thank Ford whole heartedly for giving good cars. Waiting for upcoming Ford Cars
1:44 Sirish, You ppl tried very hard to hide that NCP logo on the front number plate, as Lok Sabha elections are going on, but you forgot to remove that party scarf tied on the IRVM, which is screaming out the party logo...😂😂😂😂 Liked your way of story telling, as always , excellent episode....❤😊
Endeavour name plate has a value of 35 to 45 lakhs indians knw that . When they use the Everest badge the cost ll go uptp 60 70 increasing their brand value !
Come to think of it. Even in the used markets, the Endy 2nd gen commands a massive premium. In some states, it is higher than even the mighty T Fort. I guess, the lower cost of ownership from Ford and the massive appeal of the Endeavour is not helping the case of used car buyers like me :(
Can you also make a video on Daewoo Cielo. It will be really a heart touching video for me as it was my Dad’s first car bought by him just a week before I was born. Lots of memories will be refreshed. Thank you
I sold my endy and bought fortuner in 2018 even tho i miss her fortuner with less equipment was and still is reliable, main point is equipent that endy offered … still not there in present suvs 😢
Dear Sirish, I'm still waiting for the Bajaj Bikes Evolution video under the series "Gone But Not Forgotten." Also, I would like to see another video on Ford Mondeo. As you promised me the Bajaj Bikes Video, please prioritize that. Thank you.
@evoIndia I think so you missed the Endeavour 3.2 Facelift whose media drive was in Rajasthan and confused it for the BS6 Endeavour as that Endeavour which had it's Media drive in Rajasthan
@sirishch The ride had been softened in the 2019 facelift. What are your impressions regarding the difference in ride and handling between the 3.2 vs 2.0 @evoindia
1:14 lol not even a picture? Come on guys you can do better! Seriously how hard is it to find the first generation ford endeavour/Everest in India? And how hard is it to find a pic of it? Y'all should be talking about why the Stepney cover has 'peakes' design on it... And instead you are showing the 3rd generation pic?
I think they had 10spd gearbox with 2019 update Later in 2020 they split endeavour two variants sport with black grill and other with chrome grill and like sirish said completely discontinued 3.2 and 2.2
So y'all couldn't find the first gen Ford Endeavour?.. launched in 2003 and on sale till late 2006.. coz that was good looking for its time. These gone but not forgotten are getting boring now!

0:52 finally the Americans are off crack! 😂 .. it should have always been Ford Everest but for some stupid reason Ford decided to call it endeavour.. Ford has been so stupid after they were done launching Ikon. That was nice, the 1.6, hoot to drive.
What are your Ford Endeavour memories? Will you buy the new Endeavour when it comes back to India?
From horrid leaf springs on gen 1 to the excellent dynamics of the gen 2... In fact even today the Gen 2 Endy drives better than contemporary rivals

So many years later the Endy 3.2 still feels so contemporary. So nice to drive. Such a shame they pulled out
Don't forget that Endy 3.2l had a very unique "5 cyl" engine.

I was hoping you would have reviewed the first gen endeavour which released in 2003/2004. It had a dashboard similar to the qualis
Btw preowned Ford Endeavour are doing quite well, with prices on the higher side.
Were you talking about the manufacturer of Everest Masala (the one who had the rights to the Everest name) 😁😁
I don’t know who has or had the rights to that name! Really curious
In the US it's called Everest, Suv and pickup truck
Please revisit the fiesta similarily

The word endeavour has been a cult in India I think ford should carry on the same name
We will find out soon enough

Please do one episode for the honda civic fd as well

Is the Bronco available in India?
Please do a video on all the mahindra thar and its elder siblings
