      @@MiloLinesGolf The intro sequence shows Milo from the back with his belt essentially level at p5(?) and then he (and Riley) rotate his pelvis into an incline (left hip higher than right) as he is going through impact . This image/understanding has finally provided me the insight I have always needed to be able to rotate powerfully through the ball.

    Hey Milo, I just want to thank you for posting video of your theory of the golf swing. It has help me a lot. I finally got to try it for the first time today and man I have never hit golf balls that went so far and so solid before. Even wedges work with your swing. I finally understand how Rory and the other pros swing the golf club. I have been studying Rory swing for years and could not replicate it. Until today (well, for the most part). I will keep watching your videos and see what else I can pick up and understand how to swing the golf club. Thanks again.

Ive started with my hands and arms and shoot consistently in the mid to low 80s but not sure I can get lower if I stick with it. I’ve gone out to try some of these tips and man I gained some effortless distance and quite a bit without trying but I struggle to feel the face and shape the ball. I just go left. It’s a playable left and I’m sure it’s because my hands and arms are participating too much. Any video suggestions to help me with this struggle as look through the milo lines video treasure chest? It seems that the pivot point within pelvis varies with people. For some it's closer to the left or right hip. For others it's closer to the sacrum or belt buckle. It would be interesting to see where various pros pivot around from, say, P4 onward. Is the sacrum beltloop-pull drill the same for all variations?

    Hi, I am beginners, throwing the ball quite consistently with short Iron and and driver, but struggling with long Iron. Don't know why. Anyway I am working on the weight transfert to be able to involve more the body at impact to gain distance and have smoother rythm with long irons. So I am intégrating this "sacrum forward mouvement" to transfert weight to my Left leg before engaging hip rotation. Pausong the video at 6:59, on my humble opinion, It seems that the position at impact is à bit wrong. Look how the Left Left is laid back to the Right, I doubt the weight is effectively mostly on the Left foot. I could not states that it does work, but for sake of understandingnI would be glad to here from you on this remark. Regards

    I would hesitate to recommend this movement to a lot of players. It could be overly misinterpreted and could possibly cause you to do some damage to your lower spine. Yes, you will automatically move the tailbone if you rotate away from the ball but if you try and over emphasise that coming down, it could cause issues.

    You need to further clarify how to make this “sacrum “move.
    Because the sacrum forms the posterior pelvic wall, movement of the sacrum away from the target requires that the pelvis rotate . But because of basic anatomy, both the left hemisphere and right hemisphere of the pelvis are very limited in their rotation .
    So how does the pelvis rotate too move the sacrum away from the target going down.? It requires a POSITIONAL change of the left hip socket . This is accomplished via left hip external rotation . Left hip external rotation rotates the head of the left femur( thigh bone) within the left left hip socket . Because the other end of femur forms the knee joint , the marker for left hip external rotation will be knee movement . This knee movement can be easily seen
    In Milo’s swing At 7:40-7:42 .
    As left hip external rotation continues the left leg will straighten , the left socket will move further way from the target line and the sacrum will move further away from the target
    So the key here is not the movement of the sacrum itself , but externally rotating the left hip causing a positional change in the left hip socket

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Though the lead knee changes position giving the appearance of external rotation in reality the left hip is internally rotating pretty much the entire down swing.

    • @davecohn6407
      @davecohn6407 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please look up the definition of external hip rotation yourself . The definition of external hip rotation is simple ;it is when the Femur ( thigh bone ) and the knee rotate OUTWARDS away from the midline of the body . Without such left external hip rotation , the left hip socket will be unable to move AWAY from the target line , resulting in no rotation of the pelvis .
      . Hip external rotation will also move weight to the outside of the lead foot .
      The left hip rotates internally going back. It’s definition is the opposite of external hip rotation ; i.e. when the left femur and knee rotate inwards toward the midline of the body .

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davecohn6407 I won’t argue with you any further. In the golf swing the lead hip rotates externally in the backswing relative to the pelvis and internally in the downswing. Check the crease in the growing area it opens in the backswing and closes as the pelvis rotates in the downswing.

    • @elitegolfschools
      @elitegolfschools ปีที่แล้ว

      Our preference... The lead femur does not externally rotate in the hip socket. In contrast it internally rotates in the hip socket because of pelvic rotation... you are more than welcome to move any way that you would like my friend, just speaking on preferences of movement.

  • @thomasfraser9072
    @thomasfraser9072 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Caution: Please do not focus too much on your sacrum movement on your golf-swing anymore then Milo did or you will harm yourself.
    The sacrum away from the target movement on the downswing is a reaction to the great swing that Milo has and teaches and not a direct action to Milo’s swing. If it were he would be screaming now. Cheers

  • @AndrewDCDrummond
    @AndrewDCDrummond ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Interesting observation but it feels to me to almost be a distraction to the simplicity of Milo’s normal instruction, as this movement happens then anyway. I have also found a way to ensure I am not extending as I’ve put a mat and net in my low roofed garage where I can swing a 6 iron ok as long as I don’t extend early - if I do I’ll hit the rafters with the club head and hurt my wrists - positive feedback in action 🤣

  • @johnhue8933
    @johnhue8933 ปีที่แล้ว

    Milo, As you know already the correct sacrum move is tied to the correct pelvic tilts both left hip relative to right and also the amount and movement of anterior hip tilt which is the relative height between the back and front of hips. In the Turn Your TAILBONE To Get On Top Of The Golf Ball In The Downswing th-cam.com/video/HX4jjkMx7K4/w-d-xo.html you use a pen in the back of your trousers to demonstrate the correct tailbone move but that move which creates the angle of the pen in transition is because of the pelvic tilt angle in transition where the left hip is much lower than the right. I believe if you can get peoples understanding of the complete hip movements in the entire swing both in hip tilts of left hip relative to right as well as anterior and posterior tilts this would correct a lot of issues . I would be very interested to see your thoughts on this in a series of videos. Thanks.

  • @johnhue8933
    @johnhue8933 ปีที่แล้ว

    Milo, Were you taught the Sacrum move in your baseball training? One really good point made in this video is that the Sacrum movements should be seen and understood in 3D movement in space where people only tend to view it in a 2D linear movement and the Sacrum moves towards the target in the downswing deeper towards the target in transition and then away from the target as WELL as moving away from the ball coming into impact. The 3D aspect of the movement is very often not understood and over looked and if you do that you will program in a flawed pattern of movement.
