    Dan, I can’t remember if I mentioned this before, but I too worked with troubled kids (10 years) in both a therapeutic foster care setting and in a residential setting and you are 100% spot on with everything you said.
    I also found that, depending on the age the trauma happened, kids tended to get “stuck” at that emotional stage and were unable to progress without therapy to allow them to “catch up”, so to speak, to their biological age.
    Also, excellent analogy with that big piece of wood, it makes it easier for people to understand and visualize.
    Well done Dan, well done and thank you. It would have been an honor to have worked with you, I could have learned a lot.

      Ty for sharing. It's difficult and a tough road. I applaud you sir for that work. We must all keep trying with children for they will be taking care of us.....ty again.
