    Just got one of these(2024)...($13) I'm pleased with all features but like this video some tools are hard to flip out...also the awl seems more like a small flat head sceewdriver...not pointy at all. I still give it 9/10.

    Mexico makes good leather products My problem with buck is that they started putting their name on inferior products Another issue with buck is, im a moron, I bought 7 110s, over a span of many years and all had issues straight away, issues that contradict everyone's (I've had one 40 years'n counting) story The buck of the Vietnam war is not the buck today let me tell you that. Do they make a good product? Absolutely, without a doubt. Are they "slipping?" Most definitely. Grohmann may be small in comparison and this is like comparing mexican papayas and jack fruit, but Grohmann never opened up a budget line and allowed China to produce garbage and put their name on it. Buck makes a superior fixed blade, so do grohmann knives and they offer black linen micarta now which I have placed 3 on order. Their metallurgy can be compared but the cat isn't out of the bag. Their stainless steel holds an edge, is pretty tough (maybe not 3V tough) but you're not processing a forest with it, and lasts decades. The problem with buck is that they are reaching into too many markets prematurely (my opinion) before they have planted roots in previous fields. If they drop their budget line and double down on their USA made quality, they will gain the lost respect

    I have this problem and my rashes are still there since the beginning of spring. Mine didn't go away in 5 days. ☹️ I bought special UV gloves to wear outside but the gap from my sleeve and hands broke out in an itchy rash also despite all this. I developed this problem a year ago and I'm 49. Basically the rash didn't go away for me until next winter.

    I fly fish in Northeast Iowa and carry a small kit for removing hooks using this method. Fortunately, in over three decades, I haven't had to remove a hook from any part of my body. But, I've used it on two fishing buddies. Of course, the hooks I dealt with are really small, so fishing line works for the removal. I say I'm counting to three, but yank on two. Saves ruining a fishing trip with a trip to the hospital.

    Knives are an interesting subject. So much goes into making a knife useful or "good." The metal is just one factor, although obviously an important one. Just as important is the geometry and design for the purpose needed. Also, heat treatment is crucial. For example, Buck uses relatively cheap steel, but it has excellent heat treatment making the blade hold up really well. No, it's not a super steel, but for most uses, it's a fine option and MUCH cheaper. IF you have a particular use that makes the steel properties particularly important, then sure spend the money for the steel you need. But don't fret if you just need general purpose knife that will do what you need.

  • @jamesclaypool9688
    @jamesclaypool9688 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I own and like both brands. The Buck sheath, although nice and thick, is annoying. The knives don't fit well in the sheaths. As a result, they rattle around in the sheath. There is also a plastic liner which causes the rattle to be noisy. Therefore, I give the nod on the sheath to Grohmann. Grohmann also has multiple sheath options for their fixed blade knives. I have purchased custom sheaths for my Buck knives. The Grohmann factory seconds are also a great deal. The new Buck 117 Pro with the upgraded steel is fantastic, once you get a sheath that fits. Can't really go wrong with either brand. They are tried and true.

    Always have a knife, a perfect example! With the over abundance of hand sanitizer, can it work as a hiking shower? Beyond this one What ingredients help kill or remove bacteria the best? Remember not all soaps are created equal either, and some are marketed which are not any good. Hunting products have claimed this for a long time as showers in a package!

  • @hogwildbowhunter
    @hogwildbowhunter หลายเดือนก่อน

    Note: Avoid cheap knock offs, Amazon has too many fakes. I carry one, but I hunt a lot, sharp objects and firearms. However,I have seen some ugly self infected knife wounds buy hunters. These are light weight and a life saving tool. I am a CAT fan, but like any thing else you need to be educated and trained. I also do solo stuff so you have to be able to self apply, and likely with limited mobility. Like my PLB it is a life saving device for the worst case scenario . Any chance you can discuss Crazy glue and wounds?

    I like your honest review. I have tried several of these. I like a darker blend, the BRCC works for back country (No Death wish just too strong). I also add about 12oz of water when I make it I do not like the Starbucks flavors. I will have to look at he the Pinecoffesupply. Did COVID affect your taste at all, two of my family member lost their taste and one said it degraded their taste.

    I have the first style rash, on my arms and back thighs with some itchiness, mw hands feels numbness, my scalp itchy, and my lower molar feelsh aching when I brush it eventhough I never have any sensitive tooth before. I don't do work outside, no woods either, just office and home, never find the tick or bugs in my body. Day three my eyes were partly swollen, rushed to ER, they just gave me injection and went home, the rash subside after. I cleaned my bed and sheet, vacuum it with uv light, and even use lice shampoo because I really don't know what bit me.
