  • This is how I center the yaw after rebuilding an Advanced or Pro camera. Often the gimbal will not center after a crash. There is an easy way and a hard way. I will show you both.

    High Ted, just two very helpful tips, don’t need to use flame, to risky, just use nail polish remover and remove the magnet with a hobby bearing extractor it comes out very easy, or be careful removing it because the magnet is very fragile. Also no need to spent to much time adjusting the magnet, just need to determine where the poles are , use some street dirt and a piece of paper, put the magnet on a table put the piece of paper over it and put some dirt over the paper, move it a little and you will identify the two poles, the magnet will not fall from the paper because the iron in the dirt will prevent it, just mark the poles on the paper with a marker on the side of the iron dirt and then on the side of the magnet, now you know how to install the magnet.

      you can also use finger nail polish remover. let it sit for a while. Be very careful as the magnets are fragile.

    Ted do you think it’s possible to align the yaw motor shaft by using 2 sets of pliers to force the magnet left or right by using one to grab onto the shaft and another on the rear of the motor?

    • @Droneted
      @Droneted  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no. the magnet is glued on and is very fragile. It will break. I know as I have broken several trying to get them loose.

    I buy phantom 3 Pro Yaw Motor for my Phantom 3 4k , please help me why it keeps turning left when i push it to the right it goes back and vibrating ... then i put the old motor back which is not Centered its working fine.. but its not centered thats why i bought a new one but with a problem how do i fix plss :(

    • @Droneted
      @Droneted  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would check the new motor for broken wire or a damaged sensor. Use a magnifying glass and look it over. If I were you I would put the old motor on and adjust it on the shaft until it centers. Go a little at a time and move away from the flat spot on the shaft. Do not tighten too much until you find where it centers. You may have a bad board . I have seen this happen

    Hi Ted. This video is extremely helpful. My question is - the black tabs, I broke one. What happens if one is not in place? Can I fix it? Thanks!

    • @Droneted
      @Droneted  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Can you send me a photo of the board so I can see if there is any damage to the sides that hold it in? droneted@gmail.com
      I have put the tabs back but it is not easy. You have to have the black tab or it won't work.

    Ted- what keeps the magnet from turning on the shaft when testing for alignment, before using red loctite? Also, my camera points slightly left of center so would I turn the magnet right from current position?

    • @Droneted
      @Droneted  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will not move during a test. It never has for me. I would move it in the same direction. If it points left move to the left. In your case not much. I usually move from say 6 o'clock to 7 o'clock. It is all " best guess"
