Especially if you are hour glass shaped!! I find it so hard to find some pants or dresses to fit me properly! Most things are made for women with little or no curves.. And i usually end up with major gappy-osis (big gap in the waist) and people can see my panties when i sit down (long shirts are my staple even tho i have a short torso due to my height)... I usually have to have my grandmum take in my pants or shorten my pants..

Ashala Gaming...Eh, I just roll up my pants or leggings or shove the leggings in my boots...I'm short too, 5ft and personally I like the look...Leggings are actually kinda easy to hack the length off, grab some fabric glue and make a quick hem on the bottom...Though I don't do that, cause eh, they hide in your boots anyway or they look kinda slouchy at the bottom and it's interesting...like when you push down long socks, that kinda look...slouchy look, not baggy...Also, if you are uber short, you can buy 3 quarter length pants and will end up looking like regular length pants sometimes. 👻

@@gabbyweber4074 Most regular clothing is drafted for a "ruler body shape", which is a figure that doesn't have a whole lot of curves. If you are curvier than that you either end up with different sizes for top and bottom if you are a pear figure, or just major gaposis if you are an hourglass.

@@Melsphilosophy If you are smaller than the smallest size of the well known goth fashion brands than that's definitely true. You might have more luck with the brands that have asian sizing. But even then, if you're smaller than that, you're going to have a hard time.
Maybe buy the smallest sizes from gothic fashion brands on sale or second hand, and then take them in. Or shop in the children's section and dye everything black.
Last resort is learning how to sew I guess. Which is a good thing for everyone regardless of size because a lot of gothic fashion brands produce bottom of the barrel quality items.

I like to look at "mainstream" clothing stores for basic stuff, for example, i bought long tank tops from H&M for like $5, they are soooo soft and comfortable and perfect for a more casual goth look. I also prefer to accesorise, i wear some basic tank top and skinny jeans, then put on my New Rock boots and pentagram belt chain (plus the jewelry i don't even take off) and BAM, goth outfit. And i can wear these accesories with most of my clothes so i don't have to buy more expensive flashy clothes.
Also, aliexpress, they have so much great jewelry for so cheap.

My best trick because I'm poor is go to a party shop at Halloween time or just after Halloween time, not for full outfits but for accessories. Last year I got a knee-length, puffy, black tutu that can either be worn as a skirt or as a Petticoat. I also got a pair of black knee length stockings with adorable cartoonish leg bone artwork. You can also get a plethora of cheap chokers that you yourself can DIY to your taste. Also, if you're a fan of faux fangs, your local Halloween store should also be selling the faux fangs where you pour the wired looking pill powder into them and they mould to your teeth for multiple wear. So yeah, as cheesy as it sounds, if you have limited cash don't knock the accessories in a Halloween store.

Oh I've been there, I kept all my fitted waistcoats, Italian leather, pikes, winklepickers, vinyl, patent leather, crushed velvet, silver bangle bunches, despite being a few sizes too large. My thing is chocolate milk, marzipan, super sweet super powerful iced coffee, etc... also in my part of SoCal from junior high on there was no gothic girl, there never was anything at all. Waiting past 34 years faithfully against all odds. I know I'll die without ever finding mine, but I'll perish knowing at least I stayed true to myself. I never settled for less than what I really wanted, I never took advantage of anyone. That's what is most important whether or not you find yours. This truth also unlocks the fact that we need never get emotional or physical with anyone because it's most likely not meant to be anyway. A Celtic Witch I met years ago was dressed so amazing, she inspired me to lose all the weight required to adorn myself to my own liking, never give up, never grow cold😉

I still find that the plus ranges for goth brands don't actually go very far up in actual plus sizes, it's more like they have increased their sizing to accommodate the larger end of the 'normal' spectrum eg ending at a UK 20 or 22. However I completely agree that you can buy from mainstream brands which do a plus range and modify or accessorize accordingly. In the real world few people will judge you for not wearing brand so long as you look somewhat interesting.

When it comes to Buy it & Dye it™ I've mentioned this before I know, but you should pay attention to the fabric. I'd hate to see someone buying even a thrift-store item, and hoping it will be gloriously black, and having it turn mucky-pooey-brown or simply staying the same colour it was before. Whatever dye you are using should have info on the box on what fabrics it takes to. I've dyed canvas shoes and the synthetic-y shoelaces stayed completely white despite being in the dye for hours. Some materials simply do not take to dye, including seams sometimes. I tried to dye a denim jacket black and ended up with a navy blue jacket with white seams, it was hideous. (it's bubblegum pink now and the seams don't stand out, those are mostly a problem when you're going very dark)

в безвестность Good for you for being so creative and I’m sure your style is beautiful, but I’ve had enough hate from “normal” people for the way I look/dress over the years, I don’t need it from the goth community too. I’ve been happy to mix high street, handmade (badly) and the bigger gothic brands since I was a teenager and it doesn’t make me less of a goth than anyone else. It’s hard enough being different, we don’t need to pick on each other.

As a size 16. I agree it's hard to find bigger clothing but not that hard with goth stuff being the "in thing" now. I wouldn't consider losing/gaining weight as I feel happy with my size and enjoy my body- if I were thinner- I'd have ribs showing, if I were bigger- I'd feel self conscious so it's not necessarily about eating healthy... It's about body frame, mental health and in some cases health issues that people need/stay bigger because off. I used to be a size 12 and hated it because I could see my ribs so being a 16 is ideal for me ❤️

Hey loving your chanel and you but when It comes to the topic of finding goth plus sized clothing in thrift stores or anywhere for that matter, I have to respectfully disagree with you.
In my experience anytime I've gone to a thrift store all I can find is maybe a skirt I can cut up but that's about it which is why I as a plus size goth I dont shop at second hand shops. I dont agree that biggers girls have less clothes because we might be self conscious. It is because they just dont make the stylish clothes we want to wear in my size which is about 18-20 us size. You probably haven't noticed but plus size goth sizes sell out faster that straight sizes and then the website like never restock them...its maddening! Just as an example. Take killstar (or not haha) they constantly come out with new fashion in straight sizes and from the like five new collections they have released they will offer only like two dresses in plus size. They also will add some tee shirts which I dont want some bloody tee I want those bomb ass dresses you just released! Biggers girls just dont have that much to choose from. Most plus size clothing Is boring as shit and i have children and a full time job and I really wish I had time to make frankenclothing like I used to but sadly I dont have the time.anymore. :'(
My point is that there are more straight size gothic clothing floating around than plus size in my experience and based on what I've seen over years and years.
One thing that drives me banana sandwich is the Asian sizes. I have gone on websites that sell "plus size gothic clothing" they appear to have sizes up to like 5xl but it's a fucking sham! I ordered a pair of fake leather pants and I was so excited to get my 3xl pants and when they came in the mail I could tell they were not going on my body. These looked like us size 10 pants with a 3xl label sewn inside of them it was a joke! . I've always wondered if it really cost companies that much more to offer plus sizes parallel to straight sizes? I would really like to know because from what I've seen is that we will pay for these clothes if they just fucking make them for us....Does that make sense?

Fat goth here! Whilst it is harder to find the more fancy, brand name stuff in larger sizes, it’s perfectly possible to find nice *goth* style clothing for the bigger person that doesn’t cost a bomb. I’m not really into lace and ruffles etc, so I wear a lot of plain black jersey dresses (hanky hem and swing style) and pair them with nice leggings and an over size cardigan. Accessories are the things that tend to make my outfits so shoes, coats, jewellery and bags. Which is probably where most of the money I spend on my look goes. I trawl eBay for those, my demonias were eBay bargains, same with my DM’s. Most of my jewellery is alchemy gothic or from places like shop dixi who regularly have sales and discounts. My bag is killstar (I know, I know) which I received as a Christmas present as were as my beloved goth pikes. I was a lucky girl that year.
I buy my clothes from boohoo, ASOS curve, yours clothing, new look inspire, H&M, the occasional treasure has even been found in Evans who tend towards the more frumpy, floral end of plus size fashion and of course eBay, ebay is a treasure trove. I recently got a pair of PVC glossy leggings from boohoo for £13, a Wednesday Addams style swing dress from eBay for £18 (they did have them cheaper that that but the listing was the only one with a plus size model and I wanted to be sure) and I’ve bought a lot of cool stuff from ASOS, seriously, once Halloween rolls round check out ASOS, they get some great stuff in, as does boohoo.

But yeah killstar does do a plus size section 🙈 even tho killstar is so expensive 😒 but I also search many other places all the time and change it to how I want it.. I think if people want to be different and not be a sheep no matter the size I think people should do it and sort it out clothes wise.. Because size shouldn't denture you from being who you want to be tbh 😭😢

What I recommend is looking for pre-owned clothing on ebay. Often people will sell nice things for very little just because they want to get it off of their hands. It's similar to thrifting in the sense that the selection is random, but the likelihood of finding something that you like is a lot higher because of the wider range of options and ability to narrow down your results with filters and search terms. It takes some patience and persistence, but I've had the most success with shopping this way.

Also by looking up specific materials or textures you want in your clothes helps with online shopping (or by touch while speed browsing in a thrift store) like lace, fringe, suede, satin, leather, velvet, or other more durable synthetic materials that won’t get ruined easily over time.

The goth lifestyle is mindset over clothes, over material. I watch "hauls" because it’s enjoyable. Not because I’m gonna buy it immediately. I have been goth since I was 8 years old because I love the style, the look, love looking at goth attire on others, compliment others being goth because it is a hard lifestyle! I’ve worn platforms since volatile shoes in the 90s and I like them. You don’t have to wear them cause their "goth". You are the perfect example of "it doesn’t matter just find something good and work it out!" I love just finding random weird clothes anywhere! I’m in a military town and I found Tripp pants for 12 dollars at a thrift store! If I can find it online and I like it I would love to buy it but it’s about making your own look! I have the mind set of goth, not the everyday make my face up, I can’t afford contacts because I’m legally blind so it’s hard to buy contacts! I’ve been DIYing my own vests, jackets, and what not since 2010.... because it’s my own. Plato’s closet in the US has cheap vests and jackets that you can create your own! Studs and Spikes sells both for whole sale price, I got many many sizes and shapes for like 5 dollars a bag! So you can stud anything all over for cheap. 💕💕 I know about rants too girl I feel ya 💕💕 love you goth babes

Goth is about music, not clothes or aesthetic. If you listen to goth music, you're a goth. If you like goth-inspired fashion and lifestyle, you're darkly inspired.

I love your hair! I had this cut and color a few years ago, I miss it. Also, make a video of just you trying on outfits. you look absolutely adorable strutting around in your clothes :D maybe show us your 90's outfits?

Im so glad someone did this after the goth clothes. I used to just thrift, or even in normal clothing stores there are cute things especially around halloween. There are def ways to look nice in goth ness, mostly just find stuff that works for you

My favorite pants are black cordurou, they are pretty easy to find even from cheap fast fashion and look amazing with a cool gothic shirt

The point of thift hauls is to show that something cool can be found and hopefully how to style the finds.

I'm subscribing. You're the first realistic person I have come across. I'm not "totally" goth, more eclectic as I call it...wear what u like. And your ideas about adding chains and things to make an outfit interesting is what I do. I love chains. I love jeans vests and I find chains and stuff at craft stores. Just like thrift stores if you check out sales at craft stores, you'll find items like the mesh ribbon and things like interesting drops and I make some of my own jewelry. I found what looked like a sterling silver big chain in a craft sale bin and draped it on my vest with little silver dangly shit.I love it. And clothes., as long as they're black or black with lace, etc I'm happy. You are right. It doesn't have to be expensive and I dont give a fuck about labels. Creating your look the way you want it is freedom. I won't be tied to a brand just to impress anyone. You are also realistic about sizes. I want a leather corset but I've managed to somehow pack on 20 unwanted pounds. That's coming off before I think about the corset ;) So thanks for the info and I look forward to your videos about healthy eating too.

I made my husband a set of military cords for his shoulder out of a brooch with some premade necklaces and some I made out of skull beads. He can pin this to a plain black jacket and it suddenly is Goth. Also, for heavier woman, there are some pretty nice evening gowns at thrift stores that could be dyed black that of a larger size. Many mothers of the bride are not so small but they buy flattering styles for that day and then get rid of it.

Other tips that I personally do!
    1. Shop ONLY in the sale/clearance section. Sometimes you find brand names for a more decent price. Don’t even look at the normal priced items because you will be disappointed.
    2. Keep an eye out in shops that are not goth like Forever 21, H&M and Rainbow! I bought the most beautiful velvet platforms at Forever 21 for about $20 all because I just happened to look! I buy most of my clothes from Rainbow and just recently bought these two cool and ripped looking leggings for about $5 each.

Flea markets are also great. I once got giant platform heels for £4 after bargaining. You can negotiate the price there and the stuff there is usually very cheap, especially shoes

What I do, I wait for holiday sales, buy boots and shoes at Deichmann and then make chains, charms, studs, paint them. Clothes bleach, paint, disstress them, sewing, fish nets. IF you find jewelry you like but want it ”more”, buy a few and chain them together. IF you can buy from wish or other cheaper websites.

It honestly took me five years to build my wardrobe up to how I wanted it, and there were always new things I wanted. Years and years and hours of scouring through opshops and DIY and clothing swaps. Clothing swaps are fabulous! It means that you can rid yourself of clothing you no longer want or need or wear, and you can gain a whole bunch of new things!

As a guy, I've been doing 'spider mode' for years on Etsy and Ebay. I've bought the vast majority of my accessories relatively cheaply on Ebay and Etsy. As far as high end, new brand name stuff goes, I bought a pair of Demonia boots and an elaborate Punk Rave coat and a Punk Rave vest. I wear all three quite often but mix and match them with a wide variety of cheaper quality stuff. At a formal work do recently, I wore the boots and the vest with a $7 thrifted 80s shirt, a pair of $30 dept store black pants. Along with my antique silver pocket watch, chain and fob - a set that it took me a few years to assemble in 'spider mode' on Ebay. Great video Dorian.

As a trans guy who has been goth both before and after my social transition: YES, finding goth guy clothing is such a pain in the ass compared to finding girl clothes, especially when you're an unusual size/shape. I also use the statement piece method, specifically I lean towards jackets and other outerwear. Leather biker jackets, trench coats, tailcoats, punk denim vests, anything like that. Everything else is just black jeans and t-shirts. I got a pair of steel-toed black combat boots for $13 on Ebay and I wear them everywhere, confident in the knowledge that I'll probably fall apart before they do. I've got a set of bracelets and rings that are all the same and I wear them every single day, because they're all black and silver so they go with everything I own. Being a goth really is about cutting corners, pinching pennies, patience, and creativity. The only "brand item" I own at the moment is a Tripp jacket, which was a $10 Ebay find. As much as I love brands like Punk Rave and Killstar for somewhat normalizing the spooky look, they've made young goths everywhere think that being goth is about being rich, which couldn't be further from the truth.
