Thank you so much!! To achieve a lighter copper you can have your stylist do high lift copper on you. It's higher lift developer mixed with the color. This will only work if your hair is completely virgin though. Otherwise the only way to do it is by lightening unfortunately
Told my hair dresser I wanted coper or caramel highlights well she didn't do that, it looks almost green Can I apply caramel toner to my hair Thank you
Amanda Bowers Of course! It all depends on what color you’re starting with and what your end goal would be though. I have a lot of videos coming about color and all things hair but in the mean time you should check out Brad Mondo here in TH-cam if you haven’t already for some tips! He’s absolutely amazing
Thank you so much! And it all depends on how porous your hair is. If your hair feels super dry then the more porous it is therefore the more of the color it's going to soak up. But the right stylist however would be able to reverse this as this is only a toner and no strong developer was used or is needed! Hope this answers your question. And if you have any more questions I'd be happy to respond!
What do you think of overtone? I want to color my hair same shade with Sally's hair dyes ,but not sure which one to choose ? I love this color on you 😍 keep up the great work.
Thank you so much! I've personally never used overtone. I'll probably make a video using it and giving my honest opinion soon. However I've had clients use it and tell me that the ginger tone they have is a bit too orange and not "natural" enough. I also don't have much experience using Sally dyes since I get all my color from Cosmoprof or Salon Centric so I wouldn't be able to give any advice on that!
The first time I went red I actually did a red balayage and kept my natural base which is like the darkest brown. Then I did babylights (microhighlights) all the way to the root. Now I use permanent color with 20 volume for my roots and then tone the rest of it with zero lift or demi permanents. I slowly transitioned from a balayage to a solid red.
If I wanted to dye a level 5 dyed hair and want to het the color on the whole head without bleaching would you recomendaria this pravana tone with a 20 ot 30 vol peroxide?
I would not recommend as color does not lift color. High developer only works on virgin hair. If you use this you may end up with uneven and splotchy tones. I definitely recommend going to a licensed professional for your transformation!
Hey there I have natural red hair but it has been meh lately as I get older it doesn’t have the vibrancy it once had. I would like to do a bit brighter copper what do you suggest I could do/ use. Help would be much appreciated 💕 your hair came out Amazing
Hey!! So what I used here was a permanent color with a no lift developer. But if you're looking to just refresh your natural red hair I would do more of a gloss. I actually JUST posted a video of me using a gloss to refresh the color if you'd like to check it out! th-cam.com/video/84hd4VsEco8/w-d-xo.html
Would you tone with zero lift on one day dirty or clean hair since your depositing color? Normally oil I know protects but that is when you are lifting the hair.
Toning and lifting are completely different! I would definitely tone with zero lift on one day dirty hair no problem since no lift only deposits therefore won't cause any damage
It looks absolutely amazing on you! However, I have naturally blond hair and would really like to try this out but I’m scared that I won’t like it and I don’t want to have to bleach it to get my natural color back, so; do toners wash out? If so; completely or only partially?
Thank you! In this video I used color to tone it and color stains the hair shaft so I don’t suggest this if you want to do something that you’ll want to reverse later. I suggest going to a salon and having them do a copper gloss toner instead! (Like shades eq for example) those are much easier to go back to your natural color later if you wanted to!
Did you put the toner on your brown hair too? Did it lighten your brown hair? I have a balayage and didn’t want to lighten my brown hair as it might look patchy
@@DanielaAngueira thank you for replying ☺️! Will it be a headache for my hair stylist to work around if I decide to get more blonde put in later down the line?
I just went copper today with L'Oreal hi color highlights and 20v developer and it turned out too orange. How can I tone it down to a more muted copper?
Wow your hair came out so gorgeous! I had honey highlights and decided to get cinnamon highlights and I loved them! 😍 However, after the first wash the color faded and after the second wash it was gone😟 I was told they would fade but after the first wash?? I used cool weather and Oribe shampoo and conditioner for red hair… help 😟
Thanks babe! unfortunately if your hair isn't porous (it's good though because its healthier) it doesn't hold onto toners (Demi permanent color) as well. It also has a lot to do with your hair type. I would say your hair needed to be a little lighter to retain the color better.. maybe? I would have to see your hair in person to make that call. Also; the more you do toners the more your hair gets used to it and the less fading you will have. I say go ahead and talk to your hairdresser and see what options they recommend for you!
I have blond died highlights in my natural dark hair. Now, I would like to tone it a little Cooper but with something that will wash out. What can I use ?
I would suggest going to a salon and getting a "toner service" done by a professional. If you attempt to do it yourself you may end up with an unnatural shade of orange or red or something that will stain your hair and will make it really hard to remove later!
Hi! So if I have lightened ends and want to keep my natural hair for my roots can I still apply the toner to my whole head or would it be better to just blend the ends up a little
Great video! I'm wondering if a product like Loreal casting is also a toner? The reason I ask is that my hair usually looks frizzy after I apply it. Do you have any suggestions for this? Also, if your hair is more porous do you recommend applying to the roots first and the ends only for the last 10-15 minutes?
Thank you! I am not familiar with Loreal Casting so I'm not really sure! And for the application it all depends on the canvas but usually yes if the hair is more porous less time could help with less absorption of the color.
I want this color and I have a copper red already but I’m moving states and I don’t want to find a new stylist so how can I achieve this color at home ?❤️
The best and safest way to achieve this color would be to get it done professionally but, you can try using the Overtone Copper ! overtone.co/?gclid=CjwKCAjw0_T4BRBlEiwAwoEiAXmzmeRWYIOBwsrJXrXe56CeTzg8rKhgoBrGCgzR3lqELmg4FZbF5hoCsWwQAvD_BwE
Hi I have a question. I’ve been trying to achieve this color and I started with dyeing my virgin dark brown hair with L’Oréal Hi Color- Copper and light auburn and it’s just very red, I don’t want to damaged my curls but I want this color and saw that maybe toning it with a green toner will help. Do you have any advice? I wish I could post a pic of my hair but it’s a dark red like a cherry red almost
Hey! In order to achieve this exact shade your hair will need to be lightened professionally. Underneath my color I'm really really light! I've done a couple of sessions of balayage with babylights to get to where I am and still have my hair be healthy. Drug store High-lift color can be really damaging and putting a lighter color over top will not really remove the already red pigments in your hair. Also a green toner will just neutralize the red and make your hair brown. Hair can be really unpredictable especially when you diy it. I suggest going to a professional to achieve this color.
@@tammywhiting4628 the only way to lighten it would be to either use a highlift color or bleach it first. I wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself I would definitely go to a hairdresser for the best results!
Quick question. I went from natural blonde to about your shade of copper (I got it done at a salon). She just went in directly with color, no bleach . To maintain or bring back the vibrancy of the color would I just be able to tone myself? My hair still reads red but has faded out. How do you know when you need all over color or if you can just maintain by toning?
As there are so many different shades and different color lines I would recommend going back to your stylist and having them do the maintenance for you! Also toners fade a lot faster than all over permanent color. If you want longer lasting results and more vibrancy I recommend doing permanent all over color with your stylist!
I love your color!! I dye my hair from light/medium brown to a natural copper red at the salon, but I want to start doing it at home to save money. Would I be able to use a 20 volume developer and then a toner on top? How damaging would it this be ?
Thank you! If your hair is already copper and faded and you want to just refresh the color you can probably get away with JUST doing a toner! but if you need your roots touched up because your natural is growing out you'll most likely still need professional help to get the most accurate results
Oh wait this is a color not a toner correct? Because toners don’t deposit color they just create a filter on the hair. Or tone the color by removing brassiness.
