I’m debating to start dying my hair myself. I am currently in DC and it cost almost 500 for full head of red and blonde highlights and cut. That is outrageous. I’m Ohio it cost WAy less. But I think I can save a ton of money doing it on myself. I think one of the issues I will have is when it’s time to cover the roots !

Hey Annabelle I was just curious why you use permanent color down the ends vs a demi? I used to use permanent all the way down but my stylists used to say it was worse for hair and would cause more build up. I love the darker red on you! It is so gorgeous.

my hair just fades a lot so I like to pull through since i’m using a low volume. I want to try and incooperate more igora vibrance as it would be gentler on my hair :)

Red is so much fun ! You can do various shades of red, copper and ginger. The main thing I struggle most with is how quickly it fades and how much runs down the shower drain. We went on our friend's boat and my red hair ran all over his seats , BRIGHT RED and I was mortified bc I felt really bad. Once you go red initially, does it just depend on the formula you use, or could we just use your formula and achieve the same result? For example; I'm a natural blonde with highlights, so once I went red professionally, could I just use your formula every 7-8 weeks for upkeep or would I have to use a different formula?
Your formula is perfect for you, one of the best auburn results ever! Question, whenever you add depth to your ginger/copper hair have you ever had dark results, if so did you go right into making it lighter or if this has happened to you, do you opt to let it fade before applying another color? Omg, I’m a Christian, a middle child…and always cut my Barbie and brats dolls hair growing up!! Everyone has told me that I should do hair or at least get a cosmetologist license but I was always so big headed and thought I’m smarter than that! I just didn’t want people to think oh she’s just a girly girl so she should hair but I wanted to be known for being smart as well! You're beautiful and I love the red. I have always loved red and am considering dying my hair red again but I have a lot of grey now so not sure how well it will work out. Plus I realize as we age our skin tone changes a bit too so not sure if red would even look good on me anymore. Would love to color it myself as I have in the past but not sure that is ideal with grey. I also don't know if I can afford to maintain it by going to the salon every time either. So you can put permanent dye over permanent Dye? I didn’t know you could do that. I always thought it would look muddy! I’m trying to learn more to save time and money from the salon.
It’s probably because she is dying it with similar tones colors. She has dyed her hair before but very similar color just didn’t have the 6-80. But she had the 7-57 and the 6-77.

I recently colored my hair with a “professional colorist” whom I told I wanted this and gave me mostly orange hair, with dimensions that look more blonde and brass than anything 😔 im trying to fix it myself and this is the color I want but im like a level 7 or 8. I have no roots yet, should I just apply it from roots to end directly? Also how much of each color did you use or did you use the entire tubes? and how much developer? I went to cosmetology school like 13 years ago but im very rusty and never went to get my license. Some advice would be much appreciated as I really dislike this hair 😢
I’m really sorry this happened to you!! Red can be a tricky color. Everyone’s hair is different and formulas aren’t black and white. I would advise that you see another hairstylist to help you with your issue. Without having a true consultation with you I’m not able to give more specifics, but there’s help out there! Good luck, I’m hoping you get some better results soon ❤️

hey girl quick question, can you dye over semi permanent hair color ? I was platinum blonde then did a dark semi permanent color over it. Then went over that color with a red color depositing conditioner so it’s kinda red now. Wondering the same, since Schwarzkopf has a demi-permanent line called Igora Vibrance, with basically the same shades.

May I ask why a level 10 for roots? I thought you’re supposed to use a level 20 or 30 for roots, and either a 10 or 20 for ends

So you can put permanent dye over permanent Dye? I didn’t know you could do that. I always thought it would look muddy! I’m trying to learn more to save time and money from the salon.
It’s probably because she is dying it with similar tones colors. She has dyed her hair before but very similar color just didn’t have the 6-80. But she had the 7-57 and the 6-77.
So can we not buy these exact brand and color sense we aren’t hair stylists? How can I get this shade at home??? What’s the brand called?

What would you recommend to have he roots of the same colour as the rest of my hair.Also Ps I am using 40vol for the rest of my hair as I just realised you are starting from ginger hair and I am not lol
I recently colored my hair with a “professional colorist” whom I told I wanted this and gave me mostly orange hair, with dimensions that look more blonde and brass than anything 😔 im trying to fix it myself and this is the color I want but im like a level 7 or 8. I have no roots yet, should I just apply it from roots to end directly? Also how much of each color did you use or did you use the entire tubes? and how much developer? I went to cosmetology school like 13 years ago but im very rusty and never went to get my license. Some advice would be much appreciated as I really dislike this hair 😢
I’m really sorry this happened to you!! Red can be a tricky color. Everyone’s hair is different and formulas aren’t black and white. I would advise that you see another hairstylist to help you with your issue. Without having a true consultation with you I’m not able to give more specifics, but there’s help out there! Good luck, I’m hoping you get some better results soon ❤️

hey girl quick question, can you dye over semi permanent hair color ? I was platinum blonde then did a dark semi permanent color over it. Then went over that color with a red color depositing conditioner so it’s kinda red now. Can I go in with this formula right over the top or should I wait to grow out my hair before I do this if I’m naturally the same shade as you. Thanks sis
i’d let your hair fade as much as possible, then do a new color! just to give it some time :)
