Just spent a wonderful 5 days with my son, daughter in law and 3 grandsons….The middle grandson is right into fishing and was telling me about one of his favourite fishing channels….and it was JoshD Fishing….We sat for ages talking about your channel…Also gave him a bait caster (Shimano) and suitable rod to introduce him to casting on the bait caster….By the end of the day he was faultless…a couple of overruns yet was able to sort them quickly…Was a real proud Poppa moment I can tell you….Well Josh, I am sure Aaron will be watching this one and I hope he continues to follow you. Disagree. I chase flathead at least four times a week in the Clarence River and catch heaps between 70 and 90 cms on 2.5 inch grubs and slim swims. My largest (106) was on a 3 inch minnow. I very rarely use anything larger than 4 inches now. Glide baits are fun, and I do fish them (and other big hard bodies) but size truly doesn’t matter with that species. If they are hungry, they will eat!!
Spent a few years dedicating myself to big profile lures for big lizards, got a shit ton of 70-75cm models but no large girls.. Soon as i gave up and went back to smaller presentations i got an 89cm fish lol.. Gotta love fishin'! Keep up the good work pal, tight lines

I enjoy bait caster fishing more than spin. Love the sounds of the reels and how it casts. Gives me a good feel of American bass fishing and I love that!

I didn’t even know they did floating and slow sinking. I’m pretty sure there isn’t a option. You might be thinking of a different glide bait. You can chuck it on a spin setups but needs to be something around that 6-12kg range. These lures aren’t light

Over how many hours did you fish? Being lazy, I never go for longer than an hour or two. Which probably accounts for my mediocre results. Love the look of that rod.
A regular days fishing for me is roughly 7 hours. If I really struggle to catch and wanna fit as much fish into one video as possible, I’ll fish for 9 or so hours. Big sessions cut into short vids🤣👌🏼
But i love every second of it. Even if I’m not catching. I love the scenes and working the lures. Different techniques on different lures, and I also love just casting in general. ESPECIALLY on bait cast gear!!

That's so cool. The really big lizards only ever reveal themselves when using huge lures or livebaits. Can't be too big really
That’s it. You will occasionally catch the big girls on smaller stuff but you really wanna be chucking those bigger baits!
