Doc, you may know the knuckle is a depth gauge. Also, it helps to hold the file at the recommended angle and during the forward movement, it should be on the same plane. For safety reasons, wear gloves! Not rocket science, similar to a sluice box... 🤠

What you are calling a knuckle is called a raker!
Good how to video. The only thing I would add is to lift your file for the back stroke... it will last much longer.
Is there a a certain size round file? There were 3 in your kit why not use the other ones.

Do you turn it around just to file off the burl?
Do not believe that you should drawing the file backwards across the tooth...just go forward.
