I love these. They’re amazing. I was wanting to decorate some glass candle jars with alcohol inks. Would you have any advice on how I should be sealing them as they will be used for candles? ☺️
I would look into a high heat resistant sealer. It needs to be water based. Good luck.
Really cool. What do you use to create the handle that you’re using to hold the mug and the glass with? It seems like you might be creating these in mass so you’ve designed something that makes it easy for you to do this over and over again. I could be wrong. It sounds like a good idea however.

This is a handle for a cup turner. All it is is a piece of PVC pipe with a small foam football on the end!
Great work!! With these products the mugs dont have a stickness when filled with coffee after dried? Sounds silly question but having hard time to find an answer thx
Thanks!! So I found that can happen sometimes, so I researched and found a krylon heat resistant spray clear coat that works very well. So I tested them all and now it’s the last coat I use. I also resined them and they do look good and no stickiness at all but that can be time consuming and sometimes requires two coats.

Do you make the inserts to hold the mugs while you are painting them or purchase them? I love your work and I'm new to this but find it fascinating.
Sorry just saw this! Mine came with my cup turner but they are easily made with PVC pipe and a pool noodle!
Wow! This is brilliant. I would love to do the same but with a stencil on the mug. Peel of the stencil and hopefully it will read my desired stencil. Do you think that would work ?
That’s a good idea, but I would think the alcohol inks make bleed under the stencil cutout. Maybe if you tried it with a paint brush adding the inks and no alcohol. It’s worth a try, it will always wipe clean if it doesn’t work. Good luck!! Thanks

Thanks. After it has cured for 30 days they are safe to use. But if you prefer you can always tape around the mouth edge. The only problem is there may be a faint line shown after cured.
Will this process of sealing work for clear glasses as well? You do beautiful work!! And thank you SO much for this video and the explaining!! This is the FIRST one I have found that actually explained and showed the sealing process!! I'm excited about this new journey I'm starting!

Just starting out and having difficulty due to Covid finding 99 proof alcohol or even 91 proof alcohol where do you suggest I can get some. I really appreciate your videos thank you so much
Yes I had a hard time finding it as well. I did finally find 99% on Amazon. I had to wait a while for it and probably paid more than if I had bought it elsewhere. Good luck and you are very welcome!
Are the sealers you used food safe. I heard they were noty. I used the inks on the bottom half of wine glasses and need to seal them. Don't think modge podge will work good on clear glass.
The Krylon website states that they are food safe/food grade after fully cured for 30 days. I like the sprays better than the mod podge although it dried clear you can still see brush strokes.
@@TSRCreations That is true. The brush strokes ruined all the natural patterns made by the ink. I will not use the modge podge again on this technique. Thanks dor your info.
Great job, can you this way on stainless steel tumblers?
Not exactly but if you spray paint the tumbler first it may work. I have only done it on tumblers on a spinner with resin. It’s a different look but comes out really cool!

Non toxic, water resistant but not dishwasher safe. I have put them in the microwave and have not had any issues.

Do you mean to seal them...I use Krylon UV sealant many coats!

Yes I do every morning.

It's a pic pipe with a football a piece of pool noodle ob the end. These came with my cup turner when I make resin tumblers. But you can certainly make these yourself!

I have had one for a year now and use and hand wash all the time and it still looks great.

Hi Ana. It’s non toxic and food safe after fully cured for 30 days per their website. Yes you can do the matte finish as your final coat just be aware it won’t have that shiny finished look.

I checked the website this is not food grade safe. It is nontoxic the website says Thank you for your question. The product is considered non toxic once it is dried and cured. I put my initials on the bottom of the cups with a sharpie and seal. Paintings I always initial the backs

Hi Madeline. So I have had a couple and honestly haven’t found one I love yet. I just got a new one from a seller on Etsy. It seems well made but I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t recommend. The first single turner I purchased was from Amazon. It actually works pretty well, I still use it and it was not very expensive. Here is the link if you want to check it out. I do. But I recently purchased Crystalac brush on varnish it’s a alternative to resin. I tried it on one cup and it came out pretty nice and very shiny.

I always suggest hand washing only.

Sure!
What about baking it? I've seen that before but not a lot.
I’m not sure about that. I know you can do that with paints on glass etc but not sure about the inks.
@@TSRCreations I have baked my mugs hoping it would make them more durable, but it didn't. What it did do was soften the ink colours.
I don't understand why some people say you have to spray your cups and resin also ? Is it really important to do both especially if you are selling them???
So i spray them to seal in the alcohol inks. I worry that the resin or in my case i switched to Crystalac brite tone varnish, and it will reactivate the inks and therefore ruins the design. I have never tried it without spraying!

Sorry still a little confused, if I make cups like these do I have to do the kamars spray AND then put resin on?? Or can I just spray them with kamar sprays only (no resin)?? Thanks
@@theresaallen8126 you can just use the sprays. Just make sure you let them cure 30 days before using the finished cups. Hope that cleared it up!!

I use all different brands golden, Liquitex basics, deco art, artist loft and pebeo.
But for this cup they are alcohol inks by Ranger.

No I do not recommend putting them in dishwasher.

Krylon varnish is safe to drink from after it has cured for 30 days. I don’t believe any spray varnish is FDA approved, but they are considered food safe or food grade after fully cured. I hope this helps!

I Waited 48 hours and sprayed my mug with UV protection and it actived my alcohol ink. What am I doing wrong? :(
