    Very useful information! I loved the crackle, but you are the first person out of all the videos I've watched, to mention that alcohol inks fade over time. I had no idea! Thanks for saving my future artwork!

    If for example I did an alcohol ink art on a plate or a cup, what can I put or use to make the design not being washed off and safe to eat or drink from it?

  • @karenkelleher989
    @karenkelleher989 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay, lovely work, I do like the techniques very much. I, too, spray the sealers on my alcohol ink works.
    BUT... on the things like glassware and bowls etc, I bake them in the oven and wait two weeks before use, and I do not spray them.
    Does the spray really truly last on the bowls with light hand washing? Do you know?
    I’m asking, probably knowing you won’t answer, since you have not replied to any of the other comments.
    Is that because you are selling them?

    Hi. I tried this & it turned out 'ok.' Lol. On a clear vase, & I missed a bit - it's shaped like fat bottom, skinny neck, with tapers out wider, so a small problem wrapping. And I got a bare bit. Would you go over it, or clean off & try again, please?

    I was told to bake my glass after I inked them. Is that right? I can't find anything about it. Everything I see has the sprays. I've also heard that when you pour hot liquid in you can smell the spray and that's why they baked it. What's the right way please?

  • @karenboyan8563
    @karenboyan8563 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jane, your video tutorials are just wonderful! Quick question-is there a trick to keeping the Kamar varnish from making the ink bleed when you spray it? It didn’t cause bleeding when I used it on inked glass, but it did on inked ceramics. Any advice is most welcome-thank you!

    Have you ever put a dishwasher primer modpodge has one to your pieces My husband loves the dishwasher

    • @JaneMonteith
      @JaneMonteith  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Genevieve Milot yes and it doesn’t work especially if you put it on hot cycle. Even after the recommended cure time of 28 days. The repetitive washing over time wears down the film and eventually chips off. Best to treat alcohol ink painted ceramics like fine china and lightly hand wash.

    I just recently came across this art, so I'm hoping this isn't a stupid question.
