- My first experience wild camping on my own in a storm, was certainly unforgettable. Located in an isolated forest in the North Yorkshire moors I hunkered down for the night under my tarp, eating burgers and enjoying the solitude.

I once pitchd on the side of a cliff top at whitby bay. I swear I never got one minutes sleep. The wind and the rain battered me all night ha ha .
Superb! I'd love to do some coastal camping but more often than not i know the wind can be pretty bad. Fair play 👍

Nice to see more camping in God's country 🙏. I grew up in North East Yorkshire and while my occupation has taken me away I still love the place. Dalby,Yorkshire moors and langdale forest they are the honeypots not to mention the bridestones too. Good food,great gear = a top wildcamp. Oh,did I mention the beer and watching the nights sky. When well away from light pollution. 👍👍
Truer words were never spoken 👍 The number of misconceptions about the North (particularly the Teesside) is massively dissspointing. I class myself incredibly lucky to have all of this on my doorstep with so many hidden gems yet to uncover. I do want to spend more time toward the incredible coastline we have too. Cheers matey! I was lucky that the rain didn't start until after I'd pitched up, having the tarp certainly helped too 😊 Theres something about wild camping that can make any meal tasty!
Been doing this for years myself and love it but at 62 it's a bit much getting down and back out of the tent, surprised that I didn't see you frying up some wild mushrooms to go with the bacon butties, enjoy your future years outdoors
Thats a shame to hear matey, I know how frustrating it can be when your body stops you doing something you love (i got a knee injury many years back that stopped me playing football). Wild camping is something i've discovered in the last year or two and havnt looked back. I'll most certainly be making the most of it while I can. All the best Alan 👍 - Rich
A totally different kettle of fish on this camp , I would have been a bit apprehensive under those trees with that wind . But you survived so all is good , nicely filmed and narrated atb Dave
Yep! Very different experience, admittedly i was probably a bit out of my comfort zone. I ended up pitching up quite late and it got dark quickly. Enjoyable for different reasons :) Cheers, Rich.

Nicely shot video Richard. Definitely looks like something I need to be doing to switch off. Started camping with the family last year but a solo camp. Now there's an idea!! Liking the camera work. Enjoy. Hope you and the family are well.

Family are doing great thanks, I hope the same can be said for your lot :) I got into solo camping throughout the pandemic, it definitely helped in terms of having time alone with your own thoughts and getting a bit of peace (we both know the crack 😄). I was impressed with that stove you used. Seen it on amazon , had a copper orfice plate designed not to burn out quickly. About 30. dollars Cdn. seem to work great in that wicked wind storm you were in. Think ill purchase one ,try it out. Cheers from across the pond. B.C.
I've been pleasantly surprised with it. Camping in the rain adds an amazing dimension to "The Great Outdoor Experience" and somehow it makes those moments for those who dare unforgettable. What say you? Is there a perfect season to heave a backpack unto your shoulders? I say thee nay for there be no such season as there be no such time for in saying this for Summer and that for Winter and this other for Spring and that for Fall we steal from ourselves moments that may never come our way again. I salute you for braving the weather inclement as it was. On a personal note, those times out there bring me closer to God. I thoroughly enjoyed your adventure and thank you so much for this post. Crazy Man U have such great quality of camera and with 250 subs is insane you’ll be hitting 100k in 6-12 months if you stay consistent and videos are like people who have 300k subs so you’ll blow up and get popular and gain more subs soon keep up the great work have a nice day

Great vid mate, braver man than me in those winds, I've been out looking at some woodland at the foot of the cleveland way just the other day in only slight winds and that had my backside twitching 😂😂 not sure where your from but I seen in another comment you mentioned Teesside if so I'm also Teesside 👍👍

Tarp over tent was definitely an option, I just wanted a bit of extra space while I was cooking etc :) In hindsight a windshield would have been useful! Thanks for watching! 👍
