      So, that’s not actually far off from what goes on in the lore: The Adeptus Mechanicus utilizes a type of Augmented Reality network called the “Noosphere” and those who are augmented to do so, can see it as streams of data and information , tagged to the world around them.
      So a Skitarii “data-tether” can actually be seen as a tether of data being transmitted up into orbit by others who are logged into the Noosphere…if a weapon has an “awoken spirit”, aka, cogitator-components to it, then it’s user can see things like a round count, chamber/barrel temperature, misfire warnings, range finding, tragectory predictor lines, etc, with just a glance at it. They can also get feed data of the battlefield piped into their brains via the Noosphere from orbital satellites and ships, get ballistic calculations sent to their feeds by their spotters, etc. Aside from the Skatros, no Skitarii sniper uses a scope on their rifles/arquebuses. They don’t need it.
      Basically, Skitarii are some of the best shots in the Imperium because they literally get more info in the field then almost any other soldier/warrior there…
      …and the Priests of Mars novel series, shows that a common upgrade for cult layfolk, thralls, labourers, etc, is an implant that allows access to the Noosphere….and even more common, are Electoo brandings…basically glowing sigils implanted beneath the skin that work like ID chips, with a lot of data viewable through the Noosphere.
      So basically, the robe and armour schemes are there mostly for the benefit of their allies identifying them, or as camoflage (such as with the original Red robes on Mars, or the choice to switch to orange for Ryza’s rust dunes). Anyone who needs to know within the Cult Mechanicus, wouldn’t have to see the colours or painted sigils to identify a group of Skitarii’s forge world, they’d just go into AR mode and see that group’s alliegence, maniple/legion, entire declassified record of battle, medical response info, and maybe their favourite foods and that they like long romantic walks across the Manufactorum gangplanks with cans of Sacred Unguents garnished with tiny metal umbrellas, in hand.

    • @WolframHeart-xp2px
      @WolframHeart-xp2px 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So, about the "noodpheare", considering how much tech and history is not really known, any chance that the real name of their network at least as a nickname even was newspjeare but people spoke with a New Yorker accent so it came out asnoospheare?
      And then when the tech priest tried to pass this info forward it got mangled up with the "noosphere" concept?

    • @anguset
      @anguset 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @WolframHeart-xp2px Noosphere is an existing theoretical concept. Lithosphere - the planet; biosphere - the life on the planet; noosphere - the network of communication and interpersonal relationships on the planet, as I understand it.

    • @sklaWlivE
      @sklaWlivE 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@WolframHeart-xp2px Also, from what I recall, the Noosphere is actually a more recent development then most AdMech Tech, and is actually well understood as a result.
      It was a theoretical framework and experimental tech during the Great Crusade, but was implemented en masse after the original data network the Mechanicum used was utterly corrupted and suborned by the Horus-aligned High Fabricator General. Those loyalist forces who were spared from Mars’s data crash and data-djinn attacks, were the ones unplugged, or already using the new Noosphere as essentially “beta-testers”.
      …so, necessity became the Mother of Invention, and the AdMech implemented the Noosphere, despite being new and experimental technology, faster than when Belisarius Cawl discovered the “Safe Fire” switch on the majority of Plasma Weapons.
      Noosphere isn’t immune to corruption though, it’s just more resilient than the previous more open network…so AdMech Techxorcists don’t have to worry that much for their livelihoods.

    You've got what my grandfather called a "Cavalry Body". Because in the Horse Cavalry a tall torso gives you more shock and reach with a saber, but long legs are a hindrance on horseback, making it hard to rise in the saddle to deliver overhand cuts, and generally are awkward in both the gallop and the trot, due to longer stirrups. He told me this when I was a kid and he was teaching me to ride a horse, because I'm the opposite of you, shorter torso and long legs and I had gotten discouraged while learning to ride at a trot because it was just exhausting. Just thought you might think that was cool

    • @minhducnguyen9276
      @minhducnguyen9276 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There's potential for unique cultural characteristics related to an ocean world here. Maybe they use ocean water to quench steel as a ritual much like how the Iron snakes bring a bottle of ocean water from the home planet to bless the worlds they land on. Normally you don't quench steel with water unless you have nothing else to use because water cools hot steel too quickly making the metal too brittle and potentially causes warping. But this can be mitigated by mixing manganese into the steel and manganese is also common in sea water. Not to mention IRL you have manganese nodules forming at the bottom of the ocean from various complex biochemical processes which contain mainly iron, nickel and manganese. The techpriests probably considered these ore holy gifts from the Omnissiah. And they probably ornate their guns with nacre harvested from marine animals like how people do it with luxurious hunting rifles and shotguns.

    • @minhducnguyen9276
      @minhducnguyen9276 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another thing to consider is their favored choice of weapons if you want to go a more realistic route. Ocean planets are more likely to have a thick atmosphere because they tend to be larger and young planets where there's a lot of volcanic activity and lots of water to begin with. A thick atmosphere will absorb radiation, making large scale energy weapons less effective but favor explosive weaponry because thick atmosphere transmiss shockwave very well and water even more so. So they probably arm their titan legion with missile launchers to deliver massive warheads Such planets will probably also have an oxygen rich atmosphere from all the planktons in the ocean. This means incendiary weapons are more effective in a thick and oxygen rich atmosphere. So the infantry should prefer energy weapons because they tend to have an incendiary effect and since they don't fight at extreme long distance the energy loss from the atmosphere would be minimal.

    PLEASE do Guardsmen faction next, the rest are so underrated and under talked about it’s just crazy considering how cool they are, when we hear Guardsmen it’s always just “Cadia STAND!” or “The Commissar will probably get killed from trying to hold you back from death charging into the enemy line rather than them executing others” which for the latter is not even always the case, as evidenced by Vraks.

    • @TS-jm7jm
      @TS-jm7jm 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      lol, almost all major population sectors died in the birth of she who thirsts, those highly civilised worlds were also the ones most tolerant of psykers, and thus also most directly at risk to being dragged into the warp when the eye of terror opened,
      in lore i believe the common name for those places now are vortexes of screams or something like that.
      and those dead worlds are still screaming 15 thousand years after the eye of terror opened(it opened in M26 i think)

    My favorite custom faction ive ever made is a combination of Deimos and Lucius.
    A ragtag group of tech-priests got separated from the Imperium during the Horus Hersey, and after "playing factorio" with what few servitors they had left on a distant world, they eventually created a Dyson Sphere around the blue dwarf of the solar system they found themselves in. Capable of physically traveling through space on its own continental sized engines and having been rigged to be a x10 death-star laser, it is able to fire into the heart of chaos-tears in space and close them shut like a heated knife searing a gaping wound closed. Home to a great host of Thallax Legions hidden deep within mechanical vaults, master crafted and perfected to make them as loyal and mentally steadfast as Astartes Dreadnoughts. They act as the foot soldiers and guardians of one of the mightiest Titans ever created, the Morte Scorpione. An ungodly sized Titan modeled after ancient beasts of the world the tech priests first crashed on 10,000 years ago. Said to stand an entire head taller than Abominatus, and even claimed to have fought the cursed machine and beaten it in combat thousands of years ago, it now sits in the center of the largest mechanical bay being repaired for the past 4,000 years, its eyes still ever watchful and peering out into space with a burning vengeance. It is said that its machine spirit is the one who aims and shoots the great vengeance laser, actively seeking out chaos-tears and incursions in the night sky, looking for any fetid trace of Abominatus to send its disgusting hide into oblivion for the last time.
    Their existence is barely even known by Mars, only ever hinted at in ledgers by explorers of Triplex Phall or Deimos who happen across them in their travels near chaos space. Tales and stories of techpriests witnessing the void of space lighting up like a Sun rising over a planets horizon, blotting out every star in the sky like a solar system sized meltagun, a great silver blue beam shooting out into the multicolored tendrils of chaos space and burning it away in its entirety, leaving behind a crackling web of "inter-dimensional scar tissue" in spacetime.
    lord knows ill never actually have the models for it.. but you know.. a techpriest can dream cant he?
    a techpriest can dream..

    My favorite tech-priests are the Biologis of the Calixian Forge Worlds.
    Specifically the trio of quasi-worlds at the hem of the Malfian Sub-sector.
    The Lathe Worlds: Het, Hesh and Hadd
    The Lathe worlds also produce the Acuitor Mech-Assassins, and have the Panopticon Orbital Station.
    Both are really cool in my opinion.

    Everytime there's lore from ADMECH I pause what i was doing and pay attention to your videos.
    Yes, there's a lot of red in this faction army but I dont mind tbh haha, they are meant to represent tradition and adherence to orthodoxy in the highest degree, perhaps even more than the eclesiarchy.
    In the future I would love to see more lore from them, perhaps their worst defeat/biggest wins, deep dive into interesting character or places beyond belisarius. An exploration into the mars libraries etc.
    Keep up the good work and thanks for another amazing video
