I personally loved this passage of when the Emperor visited Mars for the first time; the tech-priests and others reaction to the arrival of the Omnissiah: “A silhouette moved within the light, tall and powerful, glorious and magnificent. The light seemed to move with him and as Verticorda watched the figure descend the ramp, a shadow fell across the surface of the plain on which the craft had landed. Though he was loath to tear his gaze from the magnificent figure…light from the storm-wracked skies faded until the only illumination came from the figure as he stepped onto Martian soil for the first time. Verticorda felt the collective gasp from the thousands of spectators in his bones, as though the very planet shuddered with pleasure to know this individual’s touch. He looked back down and saw the warrior standing before him, tall and clad in golden armour, each plate wrought with the same skill and love as had been lavished upon his vessel. The warrior wore no helm and was fitted with no visible breathing augmetics, yet seemed untroubled by the chemical-laden air of Mars. Verticorda found his gaze dwelling on the warrior’s face, beautiful and perfect as though able to see beyond the armoured exterior of Ares Lictor and into Verticorda’s soul. In his eyes, his so very ancient eyes, Verticorda saw the wisdom of all the ages and the burden of all the knowledge contained within them. A crimson mantle flapped in the wind behind the giant warrior and he carried an eagle-topped sceptre clutched in one mighty gauntlet. The golden giant’s eyes scrutinised the blue-armoured form of Verticorda’s mount, from its conical glacis to the aventailed shoulder plates upon which the wheel and lightning bolt symbol of the Knights of Taranis was emblazoned. The warrior reached out towards him. ‘Your machine is damaged, Taymon Verticorda,’ he said, his voice heavy and yet musical, like the most perfect sound imaginable. ‘May I?’ Verticorda found himself unable to form a reply, knowing that anything he might say would be trite in the face of such perfection. It didn’t occur to him to wonder how the sublime warrior knew his name. Without waiting for a reply, the warrior reached out, and Verticorda felt his touch upon the joints of Ares Lictor’s knee. ‘Machine, heal thyself,’ said the warrior, the purpose and self-belief in his voice passing into Verticorda as though infusing every molecule of his hybrid existence of flesh and steel with new-found purpose and vitality. He felt the warmth of the warrior’s touch through the shell of his mount, and gasped as trembling vibrations spread through its armoured frame of plasteel and ceramite. He took an involuntary step back, feeling the movements of his mount flow as smoothly as ever they had. With one step, he could feel Ares Lictor move as though it had just come off the assembly lines, its stubborn knee joint flexing like new. ‘Who are you?’ he gasped, his voice sounding grating and pathetic next to the mighty timbre of the golden warrior’s voice. ‘I am the Emperor,’ said the warrior. It was a simple answer, yet the weight of history and the potential of a glorious future were carried in every syllable. Knowing he would never again hear words spoken with such meaning, Verticorda and Ares Lictor dropped to one knee, performing the manoeuvre with a grace that would have been impossible before the Emperor’s touch. In that moment, Taymon Verticorda knew the truth of the being standing before him. ‘Welcome to Mars, my lord,’ he said. ‘All praise to the Omnissiah.’” So there you have it. I can only apologise for the many paragraphs, but it gives you an idea at how GODLY the Big E appears to the people of Mars.
Big E: no more religion Also Big E: *arrives on mars like the second coming of Christ to finesse some toaster lovers into worshiping him as a god* Also Big E: Lorgar, you’re being too religious!
They get around it by shoving an organic brain into whatever they're building. Technically it's not AI if it's got a human brain even if that brain isn't actually thinking.
... well... as long as the AI is structured around and tethered to a genuine "machine-spirit/soul"... then it is not the classic "abominable intelligence". The integration and description of this psychic-circuitry is often poorly developed throughout the lore.
"wait the minute.....the brain compatement.....is not connected to anything.....mater of fact ITS not filled with amniotic fluid!!!........ITS just formadehilde????" "...........yeah about that ""
I love this long-form content, I was never a bigfan of your short-form stuff, its great to see you progress both with consistency and cohesiveness. Keep it up 👍
Ad Mech is my first army, having recently gotten into the game. I thought they looked cool, and the concept was up my alley. Your video has convinced me I made the absolute right choice. Well done!
"Viewing your car's owner's manual as a sacred document" Is actually a great way to explain them and you did really good by that... Then you can build upon it by saying the Haynes manual is then considered the religious texts building on exactly to manage every single component individually... They are easily one of the most interesting factions to me for these reasons.
I have no idea how much work did you put into a nearly 2 hour long video. But the quality is on point as always. I love video-essays so your deep dives are a huge treat! ❤
While I'm still relatively new to all of the info in W40K, the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Dark Mechanicus have to be by far my favourite of all the factions. Brilliant video Wes, thank you for putting in all the time and effort required to make it such a good time.
The mechanics is objectively one of my favorite factions and I’m glad you made a video on them especially a video that’s almost 2 hours long I love it!
I have been at work searching for something fresh. I gave up UNTIL the really great video appeared! You say it’s your longest video. This is doubly impressive as your are talking about 100 words a minute. Thank you kind person. You have saved my day!!
Just getting into 40k and I think I've already watched like 10 of his hour long videos on lore and other things. They are so good and the art and depictions are so cool.
Thanks for the lengthy video! I REALLY enjoy your 40k stories like the one about the abandoned space station housing an ancient evil. We need more of that PLEASE!
Wes you probably won't see this but I cannot stress how much at almost 2 hour long video makes me happy I listen to you through my headphones at work you help me get through the day more than you can possibly imagine and for that I thank you
Loved this! Makes Houston traffic that much more bearable! Like I’m thinking to myself “my dodge ram 1500’s machine spirt wants these horses to run!” Please do a video on the siege of Baal . Everyone else has done it in their own way and details are in abundance. I can’t imagine 100 minutes of you doing being anything short of spectacular.
This was such a fun time. AdMech are my boys, and if they weren’t so hard to play on the tabletop and hard to paint, they would have been my first army. If you’re still riding high on AdMech knowledge, I’d love to hear you talk about the different major forge worlds. From what I remember, the imperium and Stygies VIII have a very messy relationship, and I’d adore hearing more about them in particular.
Hard to paint? Well i didnt try. But red n metal plus blue plasma stuff. dont seem to be hard. Unless there is something i missed , then tell me.. Also i might add i dont use officcial paint. I use speed paint from "the army painter" wich also may be easyer..
@@sparrowsbewertungen6930 The skitarii are very very fiddly to paint. The cloaks get in the way and there's loads of small details. I have seen some cool speedpainting of them though with high contrast colours for the rad, cloak one colour and everything else either metal or black. Orks, Tau and SM are all easier.
I have always been meaning to comment on how incredible the art is for the 40k universe. 30+ years of official publications have lead to a truly incredible collection of visual accompaniments to the written lore - what a treat. But the real heroes are the thousands of people who have contributed without any recognition or payment over the decades.
Whenever WesHammer drops a new video, you know you're going to get quality content, and with 100 minutes to go I literally cannot wait.... The amount of work that was put into this is just mind blowing, respect to the grind, and my deepest appreciation for all your efforts.
I got into Warhammer a couple months ago, and your longform videos are my favorite things to listen to while I assemble my miniatures. 11 out of 10 would absolutely recommend just doing four hour videos from now on forever please! (but also that’s unsustainable so you just do you!)

I never played or even seen a game of warhammer being played but man I love these videos. I did play the few video games. The lore is amazing and Wes does an incredible job with these videos.
If tabletop armies were not so god damn expensive to build and GW changed their course of constantly shooting them selfs to foot, trying to destroy the universe, i might like the tabletop and painting, but alas nether of those things will happen. How ever the lore is so amazing if you ignore extra special marines and most recent bullshit pumped out by GW that one gotta love it.. hopefully it stays like this and does not get dumbed down or censored for mythical "wider audience"...

Ive said this before, but Wes, you are an extremely talented storyteller. i LOVE all of your content, especially when you cover the Orks because you never forget to include the much needed humor in, and you give them so much character, especially when i compare you to other 40k content creators. But you also manage to get me interested in aspects of 40K i previously thought was kind of boring. Much love.
The fact that this is longer than some movies and listened to it multiple times in a row just tells me something, maybe it's because I am addicted to these WH40K lore videos or maybe it is because Wes is just an amazing storyteller, most likely both of them, also are there any plans on making a deep dive on the "Emperors hammer" a.k.a Imperial guard?
1 hour and 38 minutes of delicious information, lore, and great narration, and then, in the last 2 minutes, boom!!! the best closing argument I have ever heard, Wes, this has been your best video yet, I was enchanted by all of it, great, great F great material. The writing of this episode was amazing, I know that I am just one little comment in a vast ocean of comments that your videos get all the time, like a little Cadian soldier in the middle of a Tyranid invasion but I got to say WesHammer Protects (the lore).
Damn! I loved that deep dive into the mechanicum faction!! You and luetin got their lore so well understood! I even loved your thoughts on them slowly reaching the oblivion. Even though it is one of the coolest and most grim dark factions of 40k. Looking forward for your dark mechanicum vid now, since it is the least known faction for me. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work sir!
Finally, adeptus mechanicus! And it's a super long video!💙 also, I was wondering if you could maybe do some of the less talked about legions Like the white scars and khan I never hear them or him talked about too much Or the successor chapters
I agree I know nothing about Kahn and his legion exccept they be riding bikes and be very clear minded which makes them the wacky ones in this universe.
Another great video! I got my Mom to watch your 40K videos and now she's a fan! Keep it up! Can you do the things the Shadow keepers are guarding or the Dark Mechanicum next?
I always imagined the worship and praying to machines stemmed from the original Mars survivors "praying" for their machines to keep working and to keep them alive.
i had a strange thought about halfway through this video. the uprising of the men of iron was a huge turning point for humanity and the biggest reason the Mechanicus uses servitors. with Vashtorr coming around more and more servitors seem like his kind of corruptible beings, the same way someone having tons of orgies would be a prime target for Slaanesh. the entire Mechanicus would be vulnerable to Vashtorr if that was the case. if the Mechanicus were to become corrupted by Vashtorr, something like a deal with the void dragon to purify the remaining loyal tech priests and Mechanicus forces would save the day and give humanity a second men of iron uprising (kinda) but also release the void dragon who would cause all kinds of further changes (and probably make the Necrons pretty pissed with humanity) such as restoring the golden throne since the void dragon is a tech god and it shouldnt be too difficult.
Wes you are my go to guy for 40K lore, you bring so much vivid life to a very expansive subject. Would love as thorough and informative a deep dive on the Inquisition. Thank you!
So long as you don't watch live TV broadcasts or BBC iplayer you don't need a licence. Tell them you don't need a licence and they stop bothering you for a couple of years, then they send you a reminder and you do the declaration again. I've been doing it for a good few years and had no agro. Simple really.

‘All praise to the Omnissiah.’”
So there you have it. I can only apologise for the many paragraphs, but it gives you an idea at how GODLY the Big E appears to the people of Mars.
that was a good read, thanks for sharing it. Where is it from?
Big E: no more religion
Also Big E: *arrives on mars like the second coming of Christ to finesse some toaster lovers into worshiping him as a god*
Also Big E: Lorgar, you’re being too religious!

Tech Priest Tech Support: "Have you completed the ritual of turning it off and on again?"
Also Its ironic that Adeptus Mechanicus often deliberately ignoring the Whole 'Remember No AI' rule throughout the Imperium
@@trikk9964 To quote Bricky " ...you can't proof there isn't a brain somewhere in there..."

Well done!
Same here!
There are two things that got me into the Warhammer 40K franchise; the Death Korp of Krieg and the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Same
And Orks
There is NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. You and MajorKill are the best 40k TH-camrs. Keep up the great work.
(Whoat oi did paint iz Orks , ... some Tau... Space marines of the DA.. and now doing some custom coloursceme of the imperial Guardsmen)
Thank you so much for this video man. We appreciate your efforts. Could we PLZ have one about the dark mechanicus ?
They are on the list 😃
@@weshammer thank you so much for this answer. I'll finish this 1 and look for the dark mechanicus one .
May Tzeentch knowledge keep inspiring you.

You a hoe. Much love tho
The time, effort, bloody and sweat your devoting into these documentaries is a main contributor to 40K becoming more mainstream
Thank you so much!
A movie length video huh, thank you Wes. I hope you had a good Easter
I appreciate the time you spent on this Wes. I just recently found your channel and I listen almost every day
Whenever WesHammer drops a new video, you know you're going to get quality content, and with 100 minutes to go I literally cannot wait....
The amount of work that was put into this is just mind blowing, respect to the grind, and my deepest appreciation for all your efforts.
Someone is starting to get confident to release a hour plus video. Love it.
That was a really good one.
This long form deep dive really suits you.
Awww heck yeah, a 2 hour long Weshammer deep dive? All about my favorite toaster lovers? You just made my work shift man!
I got into Warhammer a couple months ago, and your longform videos are my favorite things to listen to while I assemble my miniatures. 11 out of 10 would absolutely recommend just doing four hour videos from now on forever please! (but also that’s unsustainable so you just do you!)
Really amazing video. I've watched it a couple times now. Theres a big gap on youtube for long form warhammer videos so I really appreciate you uploading them so regularly

Honestly, great work. Must confess I was doubtful of your format, yet you truly know your stuff. Amazing work. Have a grand day everyone! Thanks for the vid.
20:08 I... I think I see why humanity worships the Emperor now.
The love of this faction was on FULL display before you said it at the end. Another killer video in your library! Bravo.
I very much enjoyed this video. Love the length. I know a lot of time and effort goes into something like this so I can't just say mAkE LoNgEr ViDeOs pLeAsE, but really, I love these long ass videos. Love the short ones, too. Keep it up, Wes. Cheers, mate.
Love the Adeptus Mechanicus faction. This video was exactly what I needed. Awesome stuff and I'm not even halfway through!
Your content always makes my day! I’m excited for the future of your channel!
Outstanding video Wes. Thank you again. Can't imagine how much Research went into this! Awesome job
Please feel free to spoil any book, especially older ones
I am addicted to these Deep Dives
What makes work more bearable? A nearly two hour long vid that explains this 40k noob lore in a great way. Your vids are amazing Wes!
Isn´t it funny that the newest star in the lore community is basicly one of the few people who ever did a Mechanicus deep dive? everyone else be like "whats with the wacky >>science is faith, thinking BAD
Got the notification, "adeptus mechanicus deep..." and immediately said "is that a new deep dive from Wes?" Got excited, scared the kid
Wes why are you such an awesome human? Asking for a friend.
As my first army getting into warhammer purely for the looks and aesthetic, learning the lore has been a whole grand experience in of itself and i love going over it again and again especially with this amazing video!

Much love.
almost 2hours?! what a treat to paint along!
This is really well done and must have been an incredible amount of work. Thank you!
I love everything you make!!! Keep up the great work!!
Deep Dive indeed. Thanks for all of the hard work that you put into these videos!
I absolutely love the videos you drop. I learn so much and I can't help but share them.
So excited for this one, thank you ❤
Fantastic video dude. I loved your short lore vids but I'm so glad you're doing these long format vids.
Excited for another deep dive!
A long video about Mechanicus lore by WesHammer?! This is gonna be epic watching/listening. Bring it!
You've taught me so much in the last 3/4 months. Thank you!! Love the videos
im very interested to see if the mechanicus finds out about vashtorr and whether they see him as the machine god
Most of the dark mechanicum might but most adeptus mechanicus will not unless they are super heratical

Ah, it is that time of year again 👌👌
Was waiting for this all weekend! I’m Not even a “real” 40k “fan” but I love your videos !!!! The lore is so crazy
Finally, adeptus mechanicus!
And it's a super long video!💙
also, I was wondering if you could maybe do some of the less talked about legions
Like the white scars and khan
I never hear them or him talked about too much
Or the successor chapters
I agree I know nothing about Kahn and his legion exccept they be riding bikes and be very clear minded which makes them the wacky ones in this universe.
Like the white scars and khan
You might say you would like to see him do it quickly, with haste.
HAHA, DAD PUNS.
Love the content. Love the deep dives. Love the shirt, all the more apropos. Keep killin' it, King.

This came at a perfect time! I can listen to this while on my station at work. Wes you da best
Can you do a deep dive of Horus? Maybe the black legion too? Love the content keep it up!
The difference between knowing and understanding.... Incredibly well put.
Storm of Iron is true grimdark its a must read I think its more grimdark then most books these days
Wes you are my go to guy for 40K lore, you bring so much vivid life to a very expansive subject.
Would love as thorough and informative a deep dive on the Inquisition. Thank you!
The last time anyone was this early, Mars was still green
Amazing video !! Adeptus Mechanicus is my favorite subfaction in the Imperium of Man they are spooky, cool and crucial to humanity.
So long as you don't watch live TV broadcasts or BBC iplayer you don't need a licence. Tell them you don't need a licence and they stop bothering you for a couple of years, then they send you a reminder and you do the declaration again. I've been doing it for a good few years and had no agro. Simple really.
What is this in reference too?
Finally. I've been waiting for this all weekend especially since I'm reading forges of Mars right now
Omnissiah be praised!
Good ole admech. The literal representation of “praying that it works” 😂
@ 8:00: to put it in terms adjacent to Christianity, the Emperor of Man would be like Jesus Christ and the Omnissiah would be equivalent to Yahweh (God).
Ima disagree unless Jesus himself said I'm just a man don't pray to me
pretty sure it's the other way around
This was perfection, I just started to play Mechanicus on steam, and this answered so many of my question. May the Omnissiah be with you, West of Hammer.
First and dead just came from guards man Joe 😜
