Hi guys! I've been seeing some of the same questions crop up again and again, and thought I'd just answer them here! 😊 1. This is ONLY available on *WINDOWS.* Not Mac (yet - not sure if it'll ever be added). 2. "Will this work on pirated games?" *YES.* As long as you're on versions 1.67 or 1.69, it'll work. If you're on 1.67, use Steam/Retail version. If you're on 1.69, use the Origin version. 3. "How do I find where to put the files?" I show it in the video at 11:06 - go directly to your Sims 3 install directory. So NOT your Documents folder, but the place you installed The Sims 3. If you're not sure where your install directory is, *go to your Sims 3 icon on your desktop, right click, and hit "Open file location".* This will bring you exactly to the folder you need to place the files in. 4. "This didn't work for me!" Make sure you a) placed the files in the right place (Sims 3 install directory), b) *are launching with the provided launcher if using the Origin version* and c) are editing the .txt file to adjust the TPS value. 5. "I got a virus from this!" No, you did not. This mod might get detected as a virus, as it modifies the game's executable memory at runtime in order to modify a hardcoded function. This means some antivirus software, including Windows Defender, might remove it or prevent it from running correctly. If this happens you should add an exception to your Sims 3/Game/Bin folder. 6. "My game still lags." This patch is not an "end-all-be-all" fix. The Sims 3 has fundamental problems that are only gonna be fixed through the developers rewriting code. In addition, you should still add my fixes from my Ultimate Fixes video (th-cam.com/video/p-uBFKOen-4/w-d-xo.html). Hope this clears things up! 😊

Exactly. EA voluntarily never optimized Sims 3 (for example they could easily have made it 64 bits) so that they could use it's sluggishness as an excuse for moving to Sims 4. It was their main marketing trick at Sims 4 launch: a solid foundation 😁 they kept bashing Sims 3 for the same reason and they still do it to this day.

Sims 3 has always run really well on my computer as I've been able to edit settings and stuff to make gameplay optimal for my gaming computer but the CAS and B+B CAS is always something that is just laggy for me as for everyone else and I'm definitely going to get this patch just for that! This is so amazing!
One thing that helped me TONS was to load all the cache and mods folder onto a ram disk. basically you load the cas files and such onto your ram so it's always accessible to the game, and you greatly reduce load times. I can do this since I had 16GB (now 32gb) but if you got 8 or less I wouldn't recommend it.
The recent holiday sale for Sims 3 got me back into Sims 3 after finally being so fed up with how lackluster Sims 4 is and your videos have been so helpful! Already have a few Nraas mods put in and I'm grabbing this smooth patch too. Thank you!

One thing I wanna note, please, don't think it's a magic wand. If your PC is not the best one it won't really show an effect. The better pc = more tps you can use = better perfomance. Also about unlimited, when we uh tested it actually did worsen the loading etc. As tics did take all processing power and didn't really left space for (loading other stuff? As most of ingame stuff is compressed as far as I know.) Also about high end, I have not so high end computer (nvidia 940mx, i5 7200u) and 1000 works much better than 500 so if your PC is close to that, then 1000 is definitely worth trying. (Mainly check how much percent it uses, if it uses like over 60% then go back to 500.)
Damn. I installed this yesterday, not really thinking it would make much of a difference. I THOUGHT my pc handled Sims 3 pretty ok. This is lifechanging lol. My load times aren't much different but in game? HOLY SHIT. Everything is so snappy and quick esp BB and CAS, its incredible. I have no lag. None. I will never play without this again. And I will definitely play TS3 alot more now.
@@ninaaliviya I already have a good computer to run it but I have noticed that it has been loading faster and some smoother movement while moving the camera and using build mode. I even up'd the tps to 1000. I really want to try the -1 (careful may crash your computer) but scared to, even with a decent rig. TLDR: It WORKS!
This might just make me go back to sims 3 😍 It was my absolute favourite, but the slowness made me quit. As I hated sims 4, I ended up just giving up on the sims altogether 🙁
*FINALLY* I can sit comfortably and play TS3 on excessively long hours without lag ^^ *(also a big thanks to you making this comprehensive video you have a new sub
Damn, this is night and day difference. I don't have a bad pc, I use a i5 7600k (can turbo up to 4.2 ghz), 32gb ram and a rtx 2060, but still I was getting frustrated with the microstuttering and the panning stuttering. I have high detailed lots on 8 (the max) and I used to have a lot of lag when panning the world. Thats all gone now. Everything loads SO fast, the panning is faster in Live mode and Speed 3 seems to go a lot smoother too. I do have a bit of stutter in the world when panning, but thats because it has to load up the various elements (for example on a festival lot). This is SUCH good news for me, because I LOVE and LIVE for Sims 3. Have a love/hate relationship with Sims 4, since it also introduced a lot of FPS drops. I never had any of those in Sims 3, and with this handy little script, I can load up Sims 3 much faster. The game who I think honestly is the best one in the franchise. Thanks heaps for this!
🤯🤯🤯 I just loaded up the game with this, and CAS is going sooo fast now!! Seriously, I usually just get up to do stuff when I need to load CAS, since I have to wait for the thumbnails to load. And I don't even have that much content/CC. I didn't mess with her settings, and I haven't tried Build/Buy mode yet, but holy crap it's night and day so far. LazyDuchess has been my Sims 2 queen for awhile, but she just swooped on in to save the Sims 3.
There still lag for me but massive improvement thou! sims 3 will lag when it wants too. I'm going to keep using this patch for now on. Also, there no way EA doesn't have remaster Sims 1,2,3 as a backup plan if sims 5 flops. I am pretty sure sims 5 will flop if they try to remake it as sims 4 2.0. Also, I find it weird that EA copy striking people how to pirate sims 2 videos when sims 2 can't be purchase anymore, makes you think they have a remaster in mind or am I crazy?
Given that for several years, Sims 2 The Complete Collection, was literally free for years until they completely stopped offering it at all, they don't really have much case.
WOW i really want this, what puts me off playing Sims 3, is the time it took to load all the cas items up, so this literally is a game changer for us :D Thanks for the vid and thanks so much to LazyDuchess for making this smooth update :D 💖💖💖
LOL I can't believe it, am I dreaming????? A few month back I tried to reinstall Sims 3 and I totally gave up because of the lag, no fixes solved the extreme lag I got and my PC is not even bad. My prayers have been answered!! What a time to be alive, I'm trying this for sure, fingers crossed I'll get a lag free game.
I think it’s safe to say it improves the speed of scrolling or using UI elements (like sliders or scrolling through options). But the game still runs like a slideshow way too often so sadly the patch isn’t worth it for me. Thanks for covering it though!
I heard about this but at that time it wasn't compatible with origin. But I installed it along with you and boy it works wonders! My streams on twitch are so much smoother now! I spend a lot of time in create a sim and create a style, which is often where the game buffers. The sims 3 is a great game, made before it's time. Between the mod tricks, this new patch, and the tricks of the game cleaning, my sims 3 game honestly runs better than my sims 4 game, no joke. I'm visiting my cousin this month, whose sims 3 game runs horribly so much so she can't even play it. Honey, ya got a big storm coming @~@
The first time I installed it, great performance but since then it makes my game crash every time. I have tried changing the tps in the text file to no avail. It says Smoothness Patch failed or just crashes my game. Crash analyser says it is insufficient graphics. I have an AMD Radeon TM R7 so it is very unlikely the reason. I will have to remove the patch until an update is released. I'm disappointed.
The fact that The Sims 3 doesn't have 64bit version is astonishing to me, it's not like EA are a small studio. In fact their games are just a cashgrab. Their customer policy is the most shitty one I have ever seen
@@uraddiictOnx3 I have no idea about that, my sister still has physical disks of TS and TS 2, so I never really checked it online Edit: either way, I wouldn't be even surprised knowing EA

WOW! Mind Blown! This really works! I have TONS of custom content and it all loads instantaneously! I can't believe this! SHARING!
Glad it helped!
And I will definitely play TS3 alot more now.
...the moment I am awake enough, I am installing this fantastic mod! :)
This is the moment when I realized that my game is already working great
I just re-downloaded it too. Gonna try this when I get home! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
how did it go for you? i want to download because my game has been crashing
This might just make me go back to sims 3 😍
It was my absolute favourite, but the slowness made me quit.
As I hated sims 4, I ended up just giving up on the sims altogether 🙁
Welcome back!
Same!bought sims 4. Deleted after a month. Sims 3 is 100x better
*FINALLY* I can sit comfortably and play TS3 on excessively long hours without lag ^^
*(also a big thanks to you making this comprehensive video you have a new sub
Glad I could help!
Crazy timing. I was thinking of playing sims 3 again and this comes out! YAY!
I watched this...and learned a new thing about create a style LOL. didn't know you could move stuff!
"Look how smoothly it glides through the neighborhood"
*lags and stutters*
That's pretty good for Sims 3 tbh 😐
@@acottonsock Haha yeah I believe you! Haven't played Sims 3 for a decade now so my perspective was different 😂
Lol yeah, that's understandable if it's been that long. It was actually way smoother than normal.
Idk why but the graphics feel smoother also. Makes it feel really different idk
I recently downloaded this mod, after which my Sims 3 would no longer start. This completely broke the game.
Yep. If you have Origin It doesn't work. I had to delete that version just to get the game to work again
@@Brocka08 I have pirate version but this doesn't work anyway.
OMG so stoked for this. Sims 3 is the superstar of the series IMO. Thanks for making this video :)
You're so welcome!
For a second I thought you had a clothes hamper behind you until I saw that they were pictures.
I'm building whole towns right now and this goes legit would cut hours off that I would spend in loading time.
I can't believe my eyes. It's breathtaking 😭🥺
Omg I’m in love. It’s smooth 🥰
@mlcd don't assume that EA is not greedy enough for this. They love money. It just be a stupid business decision not to.
You might need a better pc 💀
@@jasmineevu5895 Well duh but I'm throwing out a perfect fine PC until I need a new one
On my 7 year old PC with lowest graphics settings, running on 3 cores not all 4 seems to make the game much smoother.
Given that for several years, Sims 2 The Complete Collection, was literally free for years until they completely stopped offering it at all, they don't really have much case.
er merr gerrrd! I understand your dribbling, I too am drooling after having my mouth so agog after installing this
WOW i really want this, what puts me off playing Sims 3, is the time it took to load all the cas items up, so this literally is a game changer for us :D Thanks for the vid and thanks so much to LazyDuchess for making this smooth update :D 💖💖💖
Hope you enjoy it!
I just reinstalled Sims 3 and holy cow, you really came to my life to make my inner gamer girl very happy xDDD THANK YOU VERY MUCH
This mod has been updated and is available on MTS update includes borderless and FPS.
what a Queen! Instantly installed it in my Game.
I have quite a few CCs and CAS takes forever to load everything in. ._.
this mod runs smoother than my brain
LOL I can't believe it, am I dreaming????? A few month back I tried to reinstall Sims 3 and I totally gave up because of the lag, no fixes solved the extreme lag I got and my PC is not even bad. My prayers have been answered!! What a time to be alive, I'm trying this for sure, fingers crossed I'll get a lag free game.
Omgosh I'm excited, no more waiting or getting stuck in progress hopefully.
You and me both!
The sailing the seas pun haha, i see you
👀👀
omggg my cas is smoother than ever thank you!
Sims 3 was ahead of its time
I have never needed a video more than i needed this what the HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
I can't get this to work at all. I've tried both options and neither works for me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! D:
IM DOWNLOADING NOW THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE
Cries in Mac
just as im getting ready to play sims 3 again yessssss
Omg I couldn’t play the sims 3 for so long thank you thank you for this
You're so welcome! 😊
Oooo I might have to give this try I haven’t played sims 3 in years because of lag! Lazy dutchess is a sims hero
I think it’s safe to say it improves the speed of scrolling or using UI elements (like sliders or scrolling through options).
But the game still runs like a slideshow way too often so sadly the patch isn’t worth it for me.
Thanks for covering it though!
Not YTA knowing I picked up TS3 for the first time in a year -
I’m going to download this after I get home from work this afternoon
💞 Thank you!!
Mine keeps crashing out too but I don’t know how to remove it 😞
I just found my Sims 3 disks in my moms basement!! God this makes me that much more excited to play again!
The fact that The Sims 3 doesn't have 64bit version is astonishing to me, it's not like EA are a small studio. In fact their games are just a cashgrab. Their customer policy is the most shitty one I have ever seen
Didn’t they remove a sims 2 game that people paid for with no warning and no compensation!?
@@uraddiictOnx3 I have no idea about that, my sister still has physical disks of TS and TS 2, so I never really checked it online
Edit: either way, I wouldn't be even surprised knowing EA
Seriously, im glad the algorythm brought me to your channel! Lately, i ve been feeling like playing Sims 3 'cause Sims 4 is TRASH...YEAH, i said it 😅 I'm gonna try it as soon as I can!
PS: You are so cute x🥰
Yes!! Literally the only problem I have with the sims 3 is the lag!
i never t hought i would see a sims 3 update from ea of a modder so this is supper exciting!
They needed 10 years for this..
