I just downloaded this mod after playing 9 years without it. Recently I played the game for longer than usual. My sims had a kid later into the game and just when the kid started going to school, I noticed he had no friends.. because he was the only child in the whole Sunset Valley and the townies were dying of old age!

I know the firefighter career in moonlight falls usually used one sim that didn’t actually live in the town and I’m wondering if I should just turn off the setting where it deletes homeless sims since it seems to mess up the coworkers in my game. I do like the feature and would like to keep it on so I was wondering if there was another way I could get more coworkers in my sim’s job fields.
So many people making great Sims 3 videos lately. Looks like I picked a good time to get back into the game (disappointed by CP2077 and need a good pick me up).
nraas master controller, error trap, overwatch and story progression paired with the smooth patch released this year makes a buttery smooth experience. although if you're experiencing lag, it might be from adding a mod when you already have cache built up which will confuse the game slightly, so deleting the cache from the game files should help :) it won't affect your saves either
played sims 3 since 2013. when sims 4 came out i played that a bit, maybe a few months, then went back to sims 3. i found mods and cc and nraas and i haven’t played without it since. i always love finding ways to advance my game and gameplay so i love that more and more people are getting back into doing these types of sims videos.
Ty, this is great! And I think you can fix the issue of a town full of teen parents with Woohooer. In the Try for Baby settings you can set the base chance of autonomous teen TFB and it's success rate. I'm not 100% sure it applies to the whole town, but it seems to.
thank you for this video!! my boyfriend and i have started getting into sims 3 again and our sim is finally married and has his first child, but because we took a bit and because we have quite long lifespans, sims have started dying from old age or aging up in general and we're worried about friends and other relationships for our future children. it seems like the NRAAS Story Progression mod is EXCELLENT, but it was so in depth I couldn't figure it out. so i'm really thankful for this video!
Just redownloaded Sims 3 for the first time in seven years and it's like the very first time (I'm so sorry Sims 3, 4 isn't even that good). I am excited to download this mod in particular, so thanks for uploading this! I'm currently doing monotonous work so I'm definitely watching this on regular speed for entertainment lol
i’m a new sims 3 player and i’m just watching gameplay mods for the fun of it, while playing the game as vanilla as i can (with a bit of graphic mods) you helped me a lot thru your other videos (matching graphics, cc and tips etc) i love how very thorough and helpful you are especially to new players like me. i’m not planning to download this mod anytime soon bc i want to enjoy the game as it is coz i’m a beginner. still, i just love how big and amazing this mod is and how in depth it is, the modding community in ts3 is insanely talented

I have been playing The Sims since the original came out in 2000 but TS3 is my favorite. This is one of the best videos about TS3 that there is. In fact, all your videos are incredibly detailed and helpful. I've already used them to fix a crash issue I was having. I just subscribed to your channel a few days ago and found this vid. THANK YOU so much. I find the NRAAS options so overwhelming (and the documentation almost assumes that you already understand the jargon) so that I've never really gotten into it. Now I feel like I can start to customize the game the way I want. I'm so glad I found your channel and that you make these amazing videos!!
I've went back to Sims 3 after playing Sims 4 for 5 years. I got Sims 3 in a cheap game shop for £5 and I played for 3 years and had all the packs. Then I moved and I didn't have them anymore. Now I'm going to charity shops and getting all the games back because the game is so much more fun. I play with nraas mods too and it's so much more fun than Sims 4
I watched almost the whole video(after the immigration settings) and then I messed up on the teen pregnancy things so I just downloaded your settings XD. I'm still glad I watched the video though as it helped me understand the mod settings. So thank you!
17:43 I'm pretty sure that unmodded vampires do age, but at a rate far slower than human sims (5x as slow iirc). Nraas story progression default settings stops them from ageing entirely, and if you turn aging on again they'll age 5 times as slow as human sims. I think there is a setting in Nraas Retuner that lets you shorten their lifespan to human, but I'm not sure exactly how to find it. There's probably also a mod out there that has the same effect
Yeah in vanilla Vampires need to take the Immortal lifetime reward to properly live forever(it also makes all drinking attempts succeed, the need to drink lowered and makes them sparkle).
Been wondering how this system worked for ages, never got a chance to really try it because it killed my game's performance in the past... Finally got a new PC and first mod I jumped to get was NRAAS' story progression. Thank you for making this very informative video, this mod does so much more than I expected!
i played nrass with the default settings and then moved it down to snail speed and its honestly doesn't seem that great to me. it seems like sims just randomly get together and have kids and move and shit but its not actually following any reason. also the way they levelled skills was super fast and random. not to mention that because all the random hooking up and moving and shit i couldn't get a partner for my sim. even if i got one to be a romantic interest they would get with someone else before i could get in a relationship. gonna watch this video to try and see if i can make it work better because there is so much shit in that mod, but i honestly probably wont use it. everyone complains that the ea story progression is so bad because the town doesn't "feel alive" and the sims are "just there to be of service to my family", and that may be true, but it makes playing my family a lot more fun.
Just started playing Sims 3 a couple months back. I have such a hard time sticking to one family, lol. And I have like four I swap between. The nraas mod was suggested to me but the website seemed to be on expert mode and so I slowly backed away having only downloaded master controller to set my adult sims up as more than blank slates with no skills. That was a particularly large rich family I wanted to make and mostly leave unplayed but played sometimes. And I love the Sim Skill randomizer in Master Controller. It's perfect for adult parents and elders who just came out of CAS, makes it feel like they lived a life. But I was nervous about adding story progression to the game and accidentally triggering population things I didn't want it on my primary families. After your video I feel like I could tweak my Sims game in a way that is satisfying to me. You have demystified the mod.
I can finally start a new town without and set it up the way I want. 😭 it took ages to get my current save set up the way I wanted and it's been so long I forgot how to really use nrass

I see a lot of people making videos or leaving comments in videos mentioning that they're getting back into TS3, which is great, it's a far better game than TS4, but I can't help but think, "Getting back into The Sims 3? I never left!"

Just letting you know you can set up progression for individual sims but you have to click the specific sim and it can be time consuming. Like if you don’t want a sim to cheat or get pregnant you can do it by clicking the sim and finding the nraas option
Yes, this is true! You can go in and manually change the caste settings for individuals Sims under caste: manual! I should’ve touched upon this in the video but I forgot. I did that a lot back in my Late Night Lepacy! Thank you for reminding me!

Awesome video! I had a story progression mod for Sims 4 and it was basically trying to get to Sims 3 base game level. Kind of makes me sad how boring Sims 4 is.
Nice I just got back into the sims 3 again because it has been to much going on with the sims 4. I'm so thankful this video please me get back into all the mods etc
One thing i recommend if you want some npc sims for one of you sims, add not active family on flirt dissalowed castes for that sim. As the Flirt scenario on SP is too aggresive to push inactive sims together, even more time i got problem when it fire scenario for inactive sims go steady, when one of them was with my sim on the date (otherwise you need cheat and remove that relationship by Master Controller).
Thank you for this video, it has been very helpful. I have had Nraas SP in my game before, but removed it because I found it all rather confusing. Your video has prompted me to have another go. I am using your settings, for now, but when I have gotten the hang of things and tweaked things a little to my own specifications, I will save my own settings and use them in all future games. At present I am testing things out in Monte Vista, a world I have never played before, so it is all a new experience for me, almost like playing the game for the first time. So grateful for this video but I'm in need of a help. I remember downloading this mod and in the first sims day, I already got notifications of what the town were doing (like who are flirting with who, who will have children and etc) but today I downloaded, changed some stuff now that I know better what this mod can do and nothing appeared. Idk if I had to wait for more sims day to this mod get on the track but I'm afraid I did something wrong lol
Check what notifications you have enabled under SP -> General Settings -> All Stories. In this video, I solely enable romance, friends, and blood. If you changed that setting and your Sim doesn't have any romance or family members in town, that would explain why you aren't getting any notifications!

Nrass Story progression let's you know everything going with your town. You get a lot of notifications in what's going on with the town Sims. From having babies,to getting hitched or them getting a new job, promotions etc ....
I’m literally in love with all the sims games, I recently started to buy some sims 2 packs, I have all the sims 3 packs (not all stuff packs) and I have quite a few sims 4 packs. I have a gaming laptop but it’s not the best, it’s not like a gaming computer so my game really lags with all my mods (for sims 4) I don’t have any for sims 3 but I really want the NRAAS mod so bad for sims 3

Hello, I have a question about the way the non-active sims acts... I took all modules because I thought that would make them more active and do everything without me having to do anything, but it didn't do what I thought at all. Now they gain skills and get promoted and that's cool but, appart from that, they just don't stop their love affairs their entire life ! They're supposed to be able to do ANYTHING but their only focus is with love affairs ! They focus so much on that stuff that none of them gain any social group thing anymore and it's the same with occult sims, none of them are becoming one even though it is supposed to happen (they even stopped becoming mermaids while they still should !). They only care about getting in love and breaking up just as quickly. Oh, and they just don't stop buying houses. I find that extremely frustrating, especially since families who shouldn't break up end up doing so the moment I start a new game. For example the Goth family in Sunset valley, when I start a new game they will break up just one or two days after the start of the game ! That is NOT supposed to happen since they're supposed to be married and happy and I find that extremely annoying. Is there a way to change that ? Or at least make it so love affairs is not the ONLY damn thing on their mind ! And I haven't even talked about another thing that just frustrates me as well... When the rich family (I don't know its english name) dies, the boy now adult had already left the mansion and is now living in a poor little house when he's supposed to live in a palace. I mean, he WAS living in a palace in the sims 2 open for business expansion pack so the fact that he left luxury isn't realistic at all in my opinion. (same for the goth guy, he left its family mansion as well when we all know he shouldn't) And there's also the fact that, since I am french, the options in the NRAAS menu isn't exactly like yours. It is set up in alphabetical order and, well, almost all of it is translated in french for me so, for example, the "all stories" is right at the top for you but it's at the bottom for me since for me it says "toutes les histoires", so I'm not sure what most of the categories I have even does. Like the immigrant/emmigrant part for example, what even is that ? I don't think that was translated in my language and I don't understand what that is at all, I have a real trouble finding any explanation. Sorry if that was a lot to read... I am so confused, I don't know what to do with my modules, which ones I should keep and which ones I should remove... I remember hearing you say that you don't see a lot of affairs happening and that you wanted more. I'm the opposite, I want less affairs. I want some of course but not every two damn seconds to the point of very solid families breaking up. I want to see Mortimer and Bella end up together without me having to do anything but that just never happen. If they even get to love each other at one point they just end up breaking up a few days later, even if they get married. So yeah, at that point the only thing I like about the Story Progression mod and modules is that they now gain skills and get promoted, but I actually hate everything else about it since they focus so much on love and breaking up that they literally don't do anything else (I guess they do make babies sometimes but it's so rare since they just can't stop breaking up), so is there a way to make it all back to normal without losing the skill and promotion stuff ?
Could you explain the caste options more? I want to have a royal family, like usually people just take the husband's last name but for specific royal/wealthy families, it won't matter the gender, that last name will be applied. Also, how to change the random names assigned to the mod babies hahah
I remember read somewhere that vanilla's story progression actually works as intended on the game early days, but due to patches and expansions along the way, it kinda getting screwed up and becoming worse and worse. I wonder if this true? Anybody who play the game since day 1 can confirm this?
Re: Ancestral First born setting: I only have the base SP + the Skills module, but I also have the Ancestral first born setting option. So, it's base SP.

Kinda late to the party but aren’t all sims bi by default? Or is this gay/bi setting primarily affects non active households? Because I almost only pursuit gay relationships in game and had never failed, even affairs with married heterosexual couples

My facial/body sliders I get from OneEuroMutt, they have the best sliders & none of their sliders conflict (I’d be weary about downloading multiple sliders from different creators, because sometimes they can conflict & it’ll make it so none of the sliders for that slot work and it SUCKS)! The eyelash sliders I get from S-Club! The eyelash slider is made to work alongside S-Club eyelashes, so it’s definitely a must for me!
I don't know if you can help but, every time I install Story Progression in my game, my sim's performance at work takes too long to increase. More than the default speed.

Lol this is an extremely late comment and kind of irrelevant haha but it's about what you said at 29:21: 'in the United States at least, you have to be at least 18 years old to get married'. This is true, for two adults. But if the two people that want to marry are an adult and a minor, it becomes more well, fucked up. 'Within the United States, each state, territory and federal district sets the marriage age in its jurisdiction.' Out of the 50 states, there's only 5 states which have banned underage marriages with no exceptions (you're not 18, no marriage). There's also 15 states in America with NO minimum age requirement, as in, a minor can marry an adult or two minors could marry each other, regardless of any of the minors' ages. Also, every state allows child marriage (except the 5 I mentioned) if 'exceptional circumstances apply'. These 'exceptional circumstances' include: -- consent of a court clerk or judge (sometimes the consent of a superior court judge, rather than a local judge, is required) -- consent of the parents or legal guardians of the minor -- if one of the parties is pregnant -- if the minor has given birth to a child -- if the minor is emancipated. These circumstances really aren't that exceptional and can be achieved quite readily by the people that prey on minors and/ or uneducated minors who may want to get married for other reasons, like they're pregnant/ have had a kid already. The consent of the parent can also be a scary one, since a mother/ father could condone marriage between a 16 year old and a 21 year old, which, even if the age of consent in that state is 16, is still a very predatory relationship legally, as one party is a minor and the other an adult, but also emotionally, since a 16 year old has not undergone the same neurological development or had the same life experiences as the 21 year old. I mean, even if you were 16 or 17 and you wanted to marry another 16 or 17 year old, you could, if your parents consented OR the court judge said yes. You could even actually GET pregnant to further your cause. Also, marriage laws and age of consent laws don't line up. A minor can be married at 14, before they reach the age of consent, yet they're married. Which most likely means they're having sex. But it's not considered statuary rape? Also, it's almost always young girls (minors) marrying older men (adults) AND I think there's more minor-adult marriages compared to minor-minor marriages as well. So the child life stage would be from like 5-13, the young teen life stage would be from 13-16, and then the teen life stage would be from 16-19. So in the young teen vs teen life stages you could actually do different things. Like teens would be able to woo-hoo etc. but young teens could only kiss and make out. And, only in the last third of the life-stage would it be possible for young teens and teens to go out with people older than them. As in, a young teen could only have romantic relations with other young teens, until the last third of their life stage, where they can pursue teens. A similar thing happens with teens - in the first third, they could go out with young teens (meaning the young teen would be close to aging up into a teen), in the middle/ second third, teens would only be able to get romantically involved with other teens (regardless if the other teens are in the first third, second third, or third third of the life stage), and for the last third, teens could be romantically involved with other teens and young adults in their first stage of young adulthood. This would always make it so even if sims are in different age groups, they can still be with each other romantically due to them being close in age. It would also solve the problem of having a teen couple, but one of them suddenly ages up and now you have to wait like a week for the other to age up in order for them to be romantic with each other.

I think adjusting the speed to 1 (Snail) or 2 (Slow) could help
I think you could repopulate a town without mods by creating a family in CAS full of children + 1 adult and adding them to an empty house.
Or rotate households and make them adopt. I did that for my first legacy attempt, it's was very time consuming but at least I gave the kids a bed lol.

I've went back to Sims 3 after playing Sims 4 for 5 years. I got Sims 3 in a cheap game shop for £5 and I played for 3 years and had all the packs. Then I moved and I didn't have them anymore. Now I'm going to charity shops and getting all the games back because the game is so much more fun. I play with nraas mods too and it's so much more fun than Sims 4
I watched almost the whole video(after the immigration settings) and then I messed up on the teen pregnancy things so I just downloaded your settings XD. I'm still glad I watched the video though as it helped me understand the mod settings. So thank you!
17:43 I'm pretty sure that unmodded vampires do age, but at a rate far slower than human sims (5x as slow iirc). Nraas story progression default settings stops them from ageing entirely, and if you turn aging on again they'll age 5 times as slow as human sims. I think there is a setting in Nraas Retuner that lets you shorten their lifespan to human, but I'm not sure exactly how to find it. There's probably also a mod out there that has the same effect
Yeah in vanilla Vampires need to take the Immortal lifetime reward to properly live forever(it also makes all drinking attempts succeed, the need to drink lowered and makes them sparkle).
Been wondering how this system worked for ages, never got a chance to really try it because it killed my game's performance in the past... i played nrass with the default settings and then moved it down to snail speed and its honestly doesn't seem that great to me. it seems like sims just randomly get together and have kids and move and shit but its not actually following any reason. also the way they levelled skills was super fast and random. not to mention that because all the random hooking up and moving and shit i couldn't get a partner for my sim. even if i got one to be a romantic interest they would get with someone else before i could get in a relationship.
gonna watch this video to try and see if i can make it work better because there is so much shit in that mod, but i honestly probably wont use it. everyone complains that the ea story progression is so bad because the town doesn't "feel alive" and the sims are "just there to be of service to my family", and that may be true, but it makes playing my family a lot more fun.

Just started playing Sims 3 a couple months back. I have such a hard time sticking to one family, lol. And I have like four I swap between. The nraas mod was suggested to me but the website seemed to be on expert mode and so I slowly backed away having only downloaded master controller to set my adult sims up as more than blank slates with no skills. That was a particularly large rich family I wanted to make and mostly leave unplayed but played sometimes. And I love the Sim Skill randomizer in Master Controller. It's perfect for adult parents and elders who just came out of CAS, makes it feel like they lived a life. But I was nervous about adding story progression to the game and accidentally triggering population things I didn't want it on my primary families. After your video I feel like I could tweak my Sims game in a way that is satisfying to me. You have demystified the mod.

I see a lot of people making videos or leaving comments in videos mentioning that they're getting back into TS3, which is great, it's a far better game than TS4, but I can't help but think, "Getting back into The Sims 3? I never left!"

Just letting you know you can set up progression for individual sims but you have to click the specific sim and it can be time consuming. Like if you don’t want a sim to cheat or get pregnant you can do it by clicking the sim and finding the nraas option
Yes, this is true! You can go in and manually change the caste settings for individuals Sims under caste: manual! I should’ve touched upon this in the video but I forgot. I did that a lot back in my Late Night Lepacy! Thank you for reminding me!

Awesome video! I had a story progression mod for Sims 4 and it was basically trying to get to Sims 3 base game level. Kind of makes me sad how boring Sims 4 is.
Nice I just got back into the sims 3 again because it has been to much going on with the sims 4. I'm so thankful this video please me get back into all the mods etc
One thing i recommend if you want some npc sims for one of you sims, add not active family on flirt dissalowed castes for that sim. As the Flirt scenario on SP is too aggresive to push inactive sims together, even more time i got problem when it fire scenario for inactive sims go steady, when one of them was with my sim on the date (otherwise you need cheat and remove that relationship by Master Controller).
Thank you for this video, it has been very helpful. I have had Nraas SP in my game before, but removed it because I found it all rather confusing. Your video has prompted me to have another go. I am using your settings, for now, but when I have gotten the hang of things and tweaked things a little to my own specifications, I will save my own settings and use them in all future games. At present I am testing things out in Monte Vista, a world I have never played before, so it is all a new experience for me, almost like playing the game for the first time. So grateful for this video but I'm in need of a help. I remember downloading this mod and in the first sims day, I already got notifications of what the town were doing (like who are flirting with who, who will have children and etc) but today I downloaded, changed some stuff now that I know better what this mod can do and nothing appeared. Idk if I had to wait for more sims day to this mod get on the track but I'm afraid I did something wrong lol
Check what notifications you have enabled under SP -> General Settings -> All Stories.
In this video, I solely enable romance, friends, and blood. If you changed that setting and your Sim doesn't have any romance or family members in town, that would explain why you aren't getting any notifications!

Nrass Story progression let's you know everything going with your town. You get a lot of notifications in what's going on with the town Sims. From having babies,to getting hitched or them getting a new job, promotions etc ....

I’m literally in love with all the sims games, I recently started to buy some sims 2 packs, I have all the sims 3 packs (not all stuff packs) and I have quite a few sims 4 packs. I have a gaming laptop but it’s not the best, it’s not like a gaming computer so my game really lags with all my mods (for sims 4) I don’t have any for sims 3 but I really want the NRAAS mod so bad for sims 3

Hello, I have a question about the way the non-active sims acts... I took all modules because I thought that would make them more active and do everything without me having to do anything, but it didn't do what I thought at all. Now they gain skills and get promoted and that's cool but, appart from that, they just don't stop their love affairs their entire life ! They're supposed to be able to do ANYTHING but their only focus is with love affairs ! They focus so much on that stuff that none of them gain any social group thing anymore and it's the same with occult sims, none of them are becoming one even though it is supposed to happen (they even stopped becoming mermaids while they still should !). They only care about getting in love and breaking up just as quickly. Oh, and they just don't stop buying houses. I find that extremely frustrating, especially since families who shouldn't break up end up doing so the moment I start a new game. For example the Goth family in Sunset valley, when I start a new game they will break up just one or two days after the start of the game ! That is NOT supposed to happen since they're supposed to be married and happy and I find that extremely annoying. Is there a way to change that ? Or at least make it so love affairs is not the ONLY damn thing on their mind ! And I haven't even talked about another thing that just frustrates me as well... When the rich family (I don't know its english name) dies, the boy now adult had already left the mansion and is now living in a poor little house when he's supposed to live in a palace. I mean, he WAS living in a palace in the sims 2 open for business expansion pack so the fact that he left luxury isn't realistic at all in my opinion. (same for the goth guy, he left its family mansion as well when we all know he shouldn't)
And there's also the fact that, since I am french, the options in the NRAAS menu isn't exactly like yours. It is set up in alphabetical order and, well, almost all of it is translated in french for me so, for example, the "all stories" is right at the top for you but it's at the bottom for me since for me it says "toutes les histoires", so I'm not sure what most of the categories I have even does. Like the immigrant/emmigrant part for example, what even is that ? I don't think that was translated in my language and I don't understand what that is at all, I have a real trouble finding any explanation.
Sorry if that was a lot to read... I am so confused, I don't know what to do with my modules, which ones I should keep and which ones I should remove... I remember hearing you say that you don't see a lot of affairs happening and that you wanted more. I'm the opposite, I want less affairs. I want some of course but not every two damn seconds to the point of very solid families breaking up. I want to see Mortimer and Bella end up together without me having to do anything but that just never happen. If they even get to love each other at one point they just end up breaking up a few days later, even if they get married.
So yeah, at that point the only thing I like about the Story Progression mod and modules is that they now gain skills and get promoted, but I actually hate everything else about it since they focus so much on love and breaking up that they literally don't do anything else (I guess they do make babies sometimes but it's so rare since they just can't stop breaking up), so is there a way to make it all back to normal without losing the skill and promotion stuff ?
The only thing I hate about this mod is that whenever I’d start dating a sim, the mod would automatically assign a girlfriend or wife to the sim

Could you explain the caste options more? I want to have a royal family, like usually people just take the husband's last name but for specific royal/wealthy families, it won't matter the gender, that last name will be applied. Also, how to change the random names assigned to the mod babies hahah
I remember read somewhere that vanilla's story progression actually works as intended on the game early days, but due to patches and expansions along the way, it kinda getting screwed up and becoming worse and worse. I wonder if this true? Anybody who play the game since day 1 can confirm this?
Re: Ancestral First born setting: I only have the base SP + the Skills module, but I also have the Ancestral first born setting option. So, it's base SP.
I don't have the "Romeo and Juliet flirt" option. I can't figure out if it's from a module I don't have or if something is wrong with my game? Also I'm missing a bunch of options for celebrities and I don't know why. Have anybody else experienced this?

Kinda late to the party but aren’t all sims bi by default? Or is this gay/bi setting primarily affects non active households? Because I almost only pursuit gay relationships in game and had never failed, even affairs with married heterosexual couples

My facial/body sliders I get from OneEuroMutt, they have the best sliders & none of their sliders conflict (I’d be weary about downloading multiple sliders from different creators, because sometimes they can conflict & it’ll make it so none of the sliders for that slot work and it SUCKS)!
The eyelash sliders I get from S-Club! The eyelash slider is made to work alongside S-Club eyelashes, so it’s definitely a must for me!

Lol this is an extremely late comment and kind of irrelevant haha but it's about what you said at 29:21: 'in the United States at least, you have to be at least 18 years old to get married'. This is true, for two adults. But if the two people that want to marry are an adult and a minor, it becomes more well, fucked up.
'Within the United States, each state, territory and federal district sets the marriage age in its jurisdiction.' Out of the 50 states, there's only 5 states which have banned underage marriages with no exceptions (you're not 18, no marriage). There's also 15 states in America with NO minimum age requirement, as in, a minor can marry an adult or two minors could marry each other, regardless of any of the minors' ages.
Also, every state allows child marriage (except the 5 I mentioned) if 'exceptional circumstances apply'.
These 'exceptional circumstances' include:
-- consent of a court clerk or judge (sometimes the consent of a superior court judge, rather than a local judge, is required)
-- consent of the parents or legal guardians of the minor
-- if one of the parties is pregnant
-- if the minor has given birth to a child
-- if the minor is emancipated.
These circumstances really aren't that exceptional and can be achieved quite readily by the people that prey on minors and/ or uneducated minors who may want to get married for other reasons, like they're pregnant/ have had a kid already. The consent of the parent can also be a scary one, since a mother/ father could condone marriage between a 16 year old and a 21 year old, which, even if the age of consent in that state is 16, is still a very predatory relationship legally, as one party is a minor and the other an adult, but also emotionally, since a 16 year old has not undergone the same neurological development or had the same life experiences as the 21 year old. I mean, even if you were 16 or 17 and you wanted to marry another 16 or 17 year old, you could, if your parents consented OR the court judge said yes. You could even actually GET pregnant to further your cause.
Also, marriage laws and age of consent laws don't line up. A minor can be married at 14, before they reach the age of consent, yet they're married. Which most likely means they're having sex. But it's not considered statuary rape? Also, it's almost always young girls (minors) marrying older men (adults) AND I think there's more minor-adult marriages compared to minor-minor marriages as well. Anyways, regarding Sims, I wish there were was a 'young teen' life stage! So the child life stage would be from like 5-13, the young teen life stage would be from 13-16, and then the teen life stage would be from 16-19. So in the young teen vs teen life stages you could actually do different things. Like teens would be able to woo-hoo etc. but young teens could only kiss and make out. And, only in the last third of the life-stage would it be possible for young teens and teens to go out with people older than them. As in, a young teen could only have romantic relations with other young teens, until the last third of their life stage, where they can pursue teens. A similar thing happens with teens - in the first third, they could go out with young teens (meaning the young teen would be close to aging up into a teen), in the middle/ second third, teens would only be able to get romantically involved with other teens (regardless if the other teens are in the first third, second third, or third third of the life stage), and for the last third, teens could be romantically involved with other teens and young adults in their first stage of young adulthood. This would always make it so even if sims are in different age groups, they can still be with each other romantically due to them being close in age. It would also solve the problem of having a teen couple, but one of them suddenly ages up and now you have to wait like a week for the other to age up in order for them to be romantic with each other.
