the most iconic and instant way to understand jotaro's character is how he acts cold to his own mother and tells her to stop kissing him, but the one time she doesnt kiss him in the morning he instantly recognizes that something is wrong and rushes to check on her

Part 2 is just so damn wacky. Like, the scope of things in that part, where we went from an evil vampiric adopted brother to 3 immortal ancient gods of fitness is what makes it so.. JoJo, you know? I also loved how we get to explore more on Hamon, especially in the hands of one that had had more time in perfecting it
Part 4 I feel like is where Araki really started to improve as a writer. The many different, yet clever uses of Stands here is a breath of fresh air compared to Part 3, where almost all Stands are the same in that they're primarily used for combat. Second, the fight seemed to suggest that Kakyoin's goal at the time wasn't landing a blow, but rather to draw out as much information about TW as he could, which worked out despite it leading to his death, and ultimately changed the tide of battle into Jotaro's favor. In a way, it's like Avdol's death; A noble sacrifice.

Hell even with Joseph he could not get the information in time and even he could not even do anything about the stop time. Its like him finding out that dio could stop time meant almost nothing.
Second even then with a stand with multiple abilities especially one that is said to reflect or in your case not dodgeable him going out like that with almost no damage done to dio with just simple timestop seems more not ceremony worthy. At least to me anyway

@@keodiozubu8670 If Kakyoin didn't find out about TW's ability and didn't leave his dying message for Joseph to understand, Jotaro would most likely have stepped into Dio's range when Joseph and Dio fell from the rooftops. Joseph yelling about him having to keep his distance kept Jotaro from doing so and ultimately saved Jotaro from being able to be killed in the same timestop Dio "killed" Joseph in. If Joseph didn't have that information beforehand, the fight would've ended then and there.
It's funny that you describe timestop as being "simple" despite how absolutely broken it is. It's absolutely feasible that Kakyoin, who didn't know of the ability at that point, wouldn't be able to actually hurt Dio. In fact, the fact that he managed to get close to harming Dio is noteworthy on it's own. Hol Horse's attempted betrayal has shown just how terrifying timestop can be if you have no way to counter it, which has only been done by Jotaro armed with the information of TW's ability plus SP being basically the same Stand. And some rats for some reason. Jotaro is the main character; Of course he'd get the privilege of actually playing Dio at his own game and harming him. If you don't know someone has a timestop ability and/or you have no way to get around the problem, the enemy can just stop time, move out of harm's way and kick you in the balls in the meantime, which is what Dio did. Kakyoin getting the information was really the best he could do and like I said earlier ultimately saved Jotaro's life. It's faithful to what Dio has shown to be capable of while also giving Kakyoin a bit of spotlight, even if it did kill him.

Also freaking polnaerf got a stab in and that was close range granted by surprise but still. Also being simple does mean it cant be broken( ots a non point but still). Kakyoin stand had many abilities at his disposal and he could do his from long range. How come he did not even get in one hit in why polnaerf got at least a good stab? His main contribution to the whole fight just seems( my opinion by the way) to relying information that either he could not beat, Jotaro beat by himself and mostly figured out by himself and to Joseph saying at that exact time stay back which could have been without that.

I think it’s really fitting that we have to wait until the very end to see what the guy looks like. He has such a hard time revealing his identity that, when we first see him in Venice, he has to hide in robes, in the the darkest corner of the room, because of the slightest chance that someone may see him, it’ll be hard to make out what he looks like.

I tried to get my little sis into JoJo and she couldn’t because “it’s just weird” and to me that’s an acceptable answer.
Modern anime/manga satirizes the serious, ridiculous, over-the-top nature of the superpowered hero manga subgenre. JoJo is in a very special place where it is both aware of this cliche and celebrates it by making a willing audience member shed the embarrassment they might feel due to its camp. It’s not exactly tongue-in-cheek, but there is never this sense of “If you laugh during serious moment, you’re ruining the mood”. That’s where “Bizarre” comes in. “Bizarre” is an assault on convention and the expected. Things can be life or death and still weird. People can be ruthless killers and have odd quirks (Ghiaccio’s hate-boner for idioms). You can be aware of how trope-y things are but still enjoy it because of the entertainment it gives you. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a series that says “It’s ok to like cool things simply because they’re cool.”

I enjoy cosmonaut, but his Jojo video really made me take every video of his with a grain of salt. It really got to me when he started describing the "3 types of characters".
"Funny coward" Polnareff, a guy who believed he was the only Crusader left alive and still went for DIO, even almost finishing him.
"Calm and cool" Jotaro, a guy who regularly beats the shit out of everyone and is also the only Jojo to go on his bizarre adventure purely for his mommy.
"Funny coward" Narancia, who literally says he'd rather die than give away info on his crew at one point
"Funny coward" Mista, who regularly shoots at villains even though he KNOWS he will get shot by his own gun.
"CALM AND COOL" FUGO, who's FIRST SCENE establishes him as barely keeping his temper from exploding. All of the Gangstars are outcasts, and the reason for Fugo being an outcast is primarily because he beat a creepy teacher to death as a child. I think this is the one that really broke me and its all over the comment section for that video.
I really like part 5 actually, I'm starting to feel like I'm one of the only ones. It has a really solid first act that establishes all of the characters really well, I like how they are all connected through each other in this found family type deal, boss's mystery is interesting in how you can feel his prescence for most of the part despite not knowing who he is, and Trish's setup is good (I also like that Araki finally realized he should probably have some female JoBros too, so that's cool). I like that Giorno is very polite, but still ruthless. He always waits and tries to figure out the situation before diving in, but when he does dive in, its brutal. He's the first Jojo to not just react to a villain's prescence, he actually has a goal from the start. He's what they call an "active protagonist" which I really like. I like that Bucciarti is already this great leader that also wants to take boss down, but Giorno is the one to push him to actually act upon it. He's a protagonist that affects other characters' growth.
But then after the opening act, Golden Wind's quality kind of dips. The scene of them deciding to be traitors is great, and Trish continues to get decent characterization, I like Doppio and his fight (a lot of the fights are good), but the Fugo fumbling--even if there is an explanation for it--is definitely still a valid criticism. He's has good setup with no payoff and his prescence is sorely missed when Narancia bites it. And the climax fight, while still enjoyable, is not completely sound for a variety of reasons (feel like Giorno's power-up could have been something other than a souped up Bites the Dust for one. For another, while the body swapping was fun, it went on for too long and kind of messed up Trish's climax because she was still in Mista's body...just felt awkward). I could go on, but the main thing is just that the climax pales in comparison to the previous two, not because of Diavolo's identity being a mystery but because of many other things.
And hopefully my rambling serves as a better example of how to criticize something without misrepresenting it.

Actually, I think that Josuke had character growth, though not as grand as your typical shounen protag. At the beginning of part 4, Josuke was the carefree kid who got pissed off at anyone who talk shit about his hair. After his grandfather died because of Aqua Necklake, an enemy stand, and Josuke with his power couldn't save him, was told by Jotaro to give up, Josuke swore to be the protector of Morioh like what his grandpa did as a policeman.
During the Killer Queen fight, he managed to save 2 people from Killer Queen's ability, one of whom was Hayato who also told Josuke to give up because the dead can be revived, but Josuke didn't and believed Okuyasu to be still alive. And in the end, Okuyasu didn't die because Josuke didn't give up his hope (and Okuyasu just say "I wanna go home"). It's honestly beautiful.

I wouldn't really call Giorno a Gary Stuart. That implies that he doesn't go through a single struggle or adversity
Vs. Bruno: Get's pretty much owned for most of the fight until he figures out a way to counter and make up for his short range.
Vs. Babyface: his only solo fight and even then he figures out how to counter his enemy in a reasonable way (i.e. using baby face to learn something new about his ability.)
Vs. Notorious B.I.G.: Is forced to loose his arm as an attempt to get rid of him as is taken out of commission.
Vs. Crush and Talking Head: He was the one who needed the saving in the scenario.
Vs. Ghiacco: His powers or completely useless for offense and is brought down as support for Mista.
Giorno also has his moments of emotion. Giorno's character is a lot more subtle than other Jojos. His backstory establishes him to be a more introverted character. While he doesn't outright show emotion, His emotions come from his inner thoughts, which we see him display panic and frustration is situations. There even times where does show emotion:
    - Him quivering and disbelief at Abbachio's death.
    - His utter despair and disbelief at the reveal that Bruno was basically a zombie on a time limit.
    - His destain, hatred, and anger towards Ciocolatta.
    - His despair towards Narancia's death (It's also the first time we see him cry, which given the context of his backstory, holds some significance.
It's basically what you said about Jotaro. Although he doesn't show much emotion, it doesn't mean they're not there.
As a critique towards Cosmonaut, he complains that him being the son of Jonathan and Dio has no plot relevance when that wasn't the point. It's to contextualize Giorno's character and his morality. He has Jonathan's sense of justice and honor, but has a Dio way of delivering that justice towards his enemies.
Giorno is a character that has to be looked deeper into in order to appreciate him. While do understand how his introverted personality can be seen as uninteresting, in my opinion, his subtly as a character is what makes him more interesting. I'm not expecting anyone's mind to be changed. This is just how I feel about him.

After listening Cosmonaut babble about the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy I came to a conclusion: He doesn’t really care about doing actual examinations on movies and is a hypocrite in relying on his nostalgia, being incapable of critical thinking and absorbing what he’s actually watching and thus sending his cult of “fans” after people who don’t agree with his terrible, not-even-surface-level opinions.
It’s okay to not like Jojo. It’s okay to go against the mold- but acting like you’re high and mighty(calling people brainwashed for liking something that he just doesn’t understand) is just dumb and shows that he just carelessly rushes through things and doesn’t examine them. There’s a difference between critical thinking and skeptical blankness of mind.

He is literally the Under the Mayo of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure community. If you don't know, Under the Mayo is equally controversial for his negativity towards ULTRAKILL's use of intrinsic motivation (by encouraging the player to keep experimenting with different weapons at their disposal and stylish combos to survive) and making up very flawed, poorly-constructed arguments that conflict with Hakita's design philosophy. To quote a certain comment, Cosmonaut and Under the Mayo's reviews are like the equivalent of someone getting a car, refusing to drive over 10 mph, and complaining that it's slow.

I find it near impossible to not really remember anything from Part 6. It is not just weird by normal standards; it is weird by Jojo standards. I remember reading back in 2008 or 2009 and maybe a partial revisit a couple years later, and here are some things I still remember (⚠️Anime-only people, this is your last chance to avoid spoilers. You have been warned⚠️):
Jolyne is introduced to us, the readers, being embarrassed telling her fellow inmates she was caught doing "it" by a guard that looks like Tom Cruise.
A sapient collection of plankton muses on the idea of intellect predating the universe.
One enemy Stand User has the power to give life to dead things, turning them into invisible zombies.
The opposite of pork is salmon. Pigs live sedentary lives, but salmon spend their lives fighting against the current.
A guy's face turning into a horrifying tree before the rest of him does.
DIO has three more sons. One has the power to cause every drawn character all over the world to come to life.
Half a baby (vertically) is aged to a grown man.
And my personal favorite for sheer what-the-fuckery: A man uses his power to control the weather to create rainbows that are embedded with a subliminal message that causes anyone who sees and touches them to regress into snails.
You don't just forget these sorts of things. They don't lend themselves to being easily forgotten.
P.S. Phantom Blood is one of my favorite parts. Jonathan's unyielding perseverance in the face of impossible odds is something I admire, especially when you contrast it with his Part 7 counterpart's near-constant brooding.

Just because someone is paranoid over something DOESNT mean they’re cowardly. Especially when the character literally risks his life not once, not twice, BUT ON THREE DIFFERENT EVENTS (Train scene, Helicopter scene, and the stand fight where HES shooting bullets while the bullets warn him he will possibly die.) those are not the traits of a cowardly person and if you think it is then maybe you should look up a definition of cowardly.
