There's quite a lot wrong with that performance.. Hips, stances, connection and it lacks any and feeling or power.. A group of shapes added together.. Potential, just needs a decent instructor.

Interesting comments, and I'm sure quite a few would disagree 🤔 stances wrong ? Please explain what's wrong and my hips ? There's two ways you can use your hips - shomen and hanmi. At our club, we push our hips into a lot of the blocks. However, it's not wrong, just another way. Thankfully, my instructors are very good. That being said, thank you for watching 🥋

@@SeishinKarateHM329 You're not using your hips, and as a result there is very little connection so its weak.. Also your timing is out so your techniques lack connection and it makes the kata a set of movements without any meaning. I'm sure some people would disagree, but I'm afraid they are lacking the depth of knowledge and experience. You clearly have a lot of ability, its just needs bringing out to give the kata some life.... 👍

I would say hips aren't the main source of 'connection' it's definitely apart but not the main part. I admit my hips don't move a lot like some people, I don't feel the need to 'exaggerate' the hip. In my opinion and many other high level instructors I've trained with, the hips just move enough, as a result of pushing from the ground up. Hence the focus on the heel connection but that's just how we train.
I understand what you're saying, like I said thank you for watching 👍
