    Im half Bulgarian i should be able to do those squats. This man john is built like a god damn tank. Imagine him kicking you full force with all his might. Right leg hospital left leg cemetery. Ive seen him spar too. Hes fkin good. Love to see john fight karate combat or mma. I can't imagine anyone walking through that back or roundhouse. Ive got power i turn the hips over etc but john is far more powerful. He should definitely atleast get on the powercube and check that power. If i lived around london id go to his dojo. Hands down.

      @@jkgardiner you're a beast bro. Honestly love to see you compete full contact. I wouldn't fight you. Spar yes, fight absolutely not. Nat can look good in no contact sparring and he has great technique but I see one major difference which is your power is off the charts. That's the kind of power thst truly sends you to the hospital. Careful with that john you truly are a deadly weapon. Again I know power, that's terrifying ! Even a liver or gut shot from leg might be so strong the guy wouldn't gain breath again. I bet your kick on powerkube is over 180. I've seen so many many guys kick, I've never quite seen this kind of power. You do realize it right ? You'd shatter any bone you hit on opponent. Arm, rib, etc I think it's like double tripple mine and I can buckle the heavy bags all day, but I think you'd break them in one session. Wow. !!!

      @@jkgardinerYou would actually hit harder if you were smaller though. Power is generated primarily through speed, not mass.

    • @jkgardiner
      @jkgardiner  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @piotrkosztirko438 that is absolutely rubbish. Why do heavyweight boxers hit harder than light? And the formula is mass x acceleration (speed) = power. increasing any of those numbers results in more power. (Eg. 7 x 8 is the same as 8 x 7)

    • @piotrkosztirko438
      @piotrkosztirko438 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jkgardiner Not rubbish, you're just inexperienced in this matter, as well as misinformed. What is acceleration? Speed^2 ... That means that any increase to speed is much more significant than any increase to mass. Try plugging in some numbers, you'll see.
      Also: I'm not comparing a heavyweight to a lightweight, so don't try making my point into a strawman argument. My point is that one and the same heavyweight could actually hit harder if he was lighter but faster. Pretty basic.

    • @jkgardiner
      @jkgardiner  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @piotrkosztirko438 @piotrkosztirko438 your last statement makes no sense.. if the heavyweight was lighter he wouldn't be a heavyweight.. you're also suggesting that I don't have speed as well..
      It's not a strawman argument, you said if "I" was lighter I'd hit harder. So If I was in a lower weight class you think I'd hit harder.. so you began the comparison of lighter vs heavier weight.
      Either way I'm fine, you carry on as you are and ill do my thing. It doesn't matter.

    Osu Some great exercises there. I did wince a bit at the Split Stance Explosive Jumps. Look at a softer, rather than a static 'high impact' landing Gardiner San. Having trained in Kyokushin for a few decades the bones and joints are starting to creak a bit now and I know some of it was because of the high impact exercises I could of eased back on .. but when your young and handsome ... you remind me of me back in the day, you don't think of the long term consequences . Great content. Subscribed.

    forget the exercises in this video, this man's body is the body of a man who goes to the gym regularly. Lots of power in his shots, but don't forget that on a moving target or one that blocks well, you won't be able to go at full power without exposing yourself. This kind of power especially allows you to impress your training partners.

      I'm not taking anything, but how would that effect the information I'm putting across either way?

      @jkgardiner as an ex-juicer and MMA enthusiast that comes as a Big surprise and I'm astounded by your genetics, but I guess I'm still learning.
      The exercises you detailed wouldn't change, but from my experience if you're PE'ing your training and recovery is different.

      @user-mn3vt2sl1m I've been training for 24 years in Karate and about 20 In the gym, although probably about 10 years of having a better idea about how to train.

      @@jkgardiner if you go to UFC or tournaments full contact. Then ok need more power but karate was made for self defense. Like normal guy in the street don't go to gym he only do karate if u do bodyweight training that ok

      @karatedo4928 what if I also enjoy weight training? Weight training will absolutely improve your Karate, without a doubt. Over 20 years of combining Karate with weight training and I haven't experienced a single downside.
      The body doesn't differentiate between resistance from body weight or external weight, the muscles contract under load in both cases.
