I was like "She's guilty, she tried poisoning her husband with gold or something," and then remembered that was this actress in an episode of House.
That's where I recognized her from, thank you
Just watched episode. He was found guilty but skipped country. He did it, he liked them young. He totally ignored his son, like he was competition or something.
Thank you!
I thought these clips came down on both sides. I’ve never seen a girl more coached than this one. She couldn’t say hello without looking at her mom. But the maid did say they were coming out if the laundry room. Unless the mom paid the maid to say it, that’s damning evidence. It’s insane that he did that to his daughter! I thought all felons had to turn in their passports?! The son should be glad his dad wasn’t interested in him!
@@RLucas3000 he wasn’t a felon yet, he ran before trial. Yeah another episode kept you guessing (several actually) but this one was based off true story I think.
@@coffeeaddictexpress5038The Mia Farrow & Woody Allen divorce and accusations.
@@slumbrrbunnie that’s funny that was my first thought, but it was actually based on another guy. Woody was just a sicko
*SPOILERS* I can’t believe people think he’s innocent after the middle sister comes forward and how the son says his dad completely ignores him and says that stuff about boys. I’m not saying the mom’s great but how would you feel if you’re husband left you for your little sister.
@@landang7906are you serious? My mom taught me the correct names for body parts as soon as i could talk
@@landang7906you’re very incorrect. your children should be very aware of what their body parts are called for both knowledge and SAFETY. demonizing your body parts and what they’re called is very hurtful to kids and risky
@@floatsyourboats6843 Well in my country that doesn't happen, it's only in the last years of high school that kids are taught these things. It's a very different culture. I didn't expect get a whole discussion on this .
@landang7906 gently: its not the school's job to make sure children are taught the names - the proper names - of their body parts. It's the people raising the children. If might be different culturally than what you'd expect but it's been proven that it protects children from being sexually abused.
And yeah, even small kids, Toddlers, preschools, can and should be able to name their body parts.
@@komikbookgeek Thanks. Your comment is by far the nicest one, But It's differnt in my country anyway. I was just saying based on what is done in my country. And I am really tired of reading comments pouncing in my face that I am wrong etc...
WOW I am horrible at judging people by first impressions. I saw his questioning and was like "his story checks out; there's no way he's guilty" and then all the evidence slapped me in the face.
Same omg
I initially thought the same thing, because i remember him as Josh Lyman in The West Wing.
That's the other super scary thing about predators: they can be super convincing.
This episode was based on Woody Allen. The man in this episode ends up fleeing to France and gets away with it basically. He goes on camera in France and vows to never return to America. He took his young new wife with him and she also happens to be the younger sister of his ex-wife. It was never 100% clear on who was guilty but that was intentional since there’s still many people who feel that way about Woody Allen.
He was accused of abusing his young daughter and another sister of the two women actually spoke up about how she was SA’d by him when they were younger. He ended up marrying their youngest sister and he took nude photos of her when she was still a minor. He 100% groomed her, that is clear. The biggest accusation was that he molested his young daughter that he had with his first wife (as shown in this clip).
His current wife was completely on his side. I also should mention that he was a television producer and he turned his new wife into a successful movie star by putting her in his films.
The episode is called “Reasonable Doubt” and it’s from season 15, episode 22.
My god so this's just happened
I always compared it more to Roman Polanski to be honest.
But you can be extradited from France. There's no reason to flee there.
@@loveGG3at the time, there was no extradition. Then he asked for the french citizenship,, so there would never be any extradition..he had smart lawyers
@@claudinefaure9090 That's crazy! I'm surprised France would allow that.
You know what a “clear no” sounds like? “No”.
We just gonna ignore the fact that the mother served the daughter chocolate chip cookies with...PLUM juice??? What monster does that?
She was guilty as soon as she said Ore-gone.
I know! Why did she say it like that?
Said:Ore-gone ? 0:33
😂😂
?
I suppose I'm naive
You know someone is lying when they can’t straight out answer the asked question 1:19 they asked his flat out if he raped his daughter and he couldn’t say no
In the actual case this was based on... I side with the victim. Dylan Farrow has stood by her memory of that day for 30 yrs. She has 0 reasons to lie.
I have always believed Dylan.
@@bmarz8196 yeah! Dylan Farrow was Allen's victim.
I doubt Woody is possibly guilty, but memory is the last thing I'm going to rely on for truth.
It has nothing to do with lying by the way. It's been proven countless times in psychology that we alter our memory of a thing so much that it becomes something different than reality.

The husband said his wife had many animals.
The house looked beautifully kept, and I only saw two dogs.
Hmmm.
Sounds like the kids shouldn't be with either parents 😕
3:24 The real crime is serving that girl JUICE with her cookies. IT'S MILK OR NOTHIING!
LMBO.... Facts
Making that child drink plum juice with cookies is also a form of child abuse.
It’s funny how Law & Order will reuse actors for different roles. Bradley Whitford recently reappeared on SVU as a writer with dementia who believed he’d killed his wife.
Which parent is guilty?
I say both
I was actually expecting Nick to ask the mother to show him the laundry room.
She said… OR E GONE?!! Oh she guilty by default
For those curious, [spoilers]
it’s left ambiguous as to whether or not the father molested the daughter. Testimonies flip-flopped throughout the episode and the middle sister who also accused him refused to testify (possibly because she did not want to perjure herself). The media coverage ramped up and members of the jury admitted they had seen news stories of the case, generating bias. The father, reasonably fearing he could not get a fair trial, fled the country before he could testify to his own defense.
By the end of it, they decided that the justice system had failed. Either a guilty man was able to escape his sentence, or an innocent man was forced to flee his own home. The daughter might have had an abuser removed from her life or she might have just lost the only barrier between her and a narcissistic mother.
Guilty or not, the accusation was enough to find him guilty in the court of public opinion.
That's what sucks- the guilty, the genuinely "you did it, here's the unrefutable proof you did it" deserve everything they get. But you have to prove it and prove it without bias. And those falsely accused need to be able to get back to their lives without consequences-
The huge gray area of who did what or who didn't do what here feels all too much like real life.
@@ajc-ff5cmthere is no such thing as “here’s evidence, you DEFINETLY did it” for sexual assault. Much less without bias. Thinking that unrefutable certainty is the only way modern justice should work is crazy or very ignorant of how evidence works. Not a lot is left after such crimes
Thank you for presenting your comment the way you did. I hate when someone posts a spoiler, but doesn’t give anybody a chance to veer away from it. Again, thank you
They never found him after he escaped?
@@eangelful Even if they find him, they have to get him extradited. Look at Roman Polanski, the US has known where he is (France) for decades but France refuses to extradite him.
But dogs do talk to each other lol
It's mostly hi, I'm a good boi but yeah
I've seen cats talk to each other
Animals absolutely talk and communicate. Cats esp even use more vocal sounds when trying to communicate with Humans because they recognize how much we use vocalizations when communicating with each other. They use far few vocalizations when comlunicating with other cats and animals.
I absolutely HATE it when they leave stories open ended like this! 😠 (Of course, if this is/was a true story then even though I prefer resolution the way it ended would be understandable.)
From what I heard this is based on a real case. The victim has stuck to her story for 30 years apparently so I’m siding with the mom side for this. Dylan Farrow is the name of the victim
It’s apparently heavily based on the case of Woody Allen. According to another commenter, a lot of people still don’t think he was guilty, but the victim has still stuck to her story after all these years, so that’s probably the reason for the ambiguous ending.
1:15 his lawyer: why tf would you say that?!
That’s exactly what I said also 😭why tf would he say that
2:47 Thats a really cute puppy
Husky puppies are absurbdly fluffy and addorable. Sometimes they get a little bitey because they're exploring, but that one is probably very well behaved for tv/movies
2:55 Must pet dog
I forgot I was watching a clip. This whole family was a nightmare!
When I heard Bradley Whitford talk, I immediately had Joshua Lymon come to mind
Saaaaame. I was halfway expecting to hear "DONNA!"
MR. PERALTA?!?!?
Joshua Lyman remember Jed isn't going to save you on this one.
Hahahahahaha
I watched too much WW lol
didnt maid say she saw the daughter and father coming out of the laundry room together.. clearly she was paid off to change her testimony in the trail.. and what kind of father plays dress up with the child??
I do love Olivia's hair
Me too she’s one pretty actress ❤️
Her best hair style on the show. Suits her well.
How come there are so many people in the comments that don't know this is based on Woody Allen??
These aren't even the worst onscreen parents that child has had.

Becuz that many “pets” is hoarding
OMG OMG OMG THATS JOSHUA LYMAN!!!!!!!
Samantha Mathis is an amazing actress. I first saw her in Pump Up The Volume. But it's roles like this that give me much respect for her.
That movie was the first time I saw her, also! Loved her since then!
The dude sitting next to Olivia...is that the guy from the show grounded for life as the dad? Sean Finnerty?
Did you know that Samantha Mathis was the first choice for Olivia Benson?
Yikes! Glad someone made the right choice.
Keidrich Sellati (here as Daniel Summers-Maddox) played Henry Jennings in The Americans.
Lol, not OR-E-GONE.
Katherine didn’t do anything wrong
Am I delusional or the man is Pheobe's boyfriend that left to Minsk ?
Is there a part two anywhere?
I love Olivia Benson
I really hate some of these clips. I didn’t watch this freaking show so if they cut off before the conclusion, I don’t know what happened.
donal logue went to harvard
Thank you for sharing the season and episode. 😊
Jeffrey Tambor is the lawyer - dang, I remember him from way back in LA Law in the '80s.
The mother was lucky this wasn't an earlier episode of SVU otherwise she would've been set on fire like the last mother who's husband she falsely accused of r4pe.
SPOILER: He did it
I think the dad is guilt, he went after the middle sister, and the baby sister then his daughter. That's a sick man.
He very much seemed guilty to me as well. This episode was based on Woody Allen. The man in this episode ends up fleeing to France and gets away with it basically. The episode is called “Reasonable Doubt” and it’s from season 15, episode 22.
The fathers lawyer should have used light crime as an excuse
Personally I don’t think the dad molested his daughter. I believe the ex wife wanted revenge against her ex husband for cheating on her with her sister. In the end the only person who got hurt was the daughter
Exactly. She was giving her daughter cues on what to say. That's why they had her leave. She was coaching her daughter.
Exactly
Though in real life if someone is sleazy and disgusting enough to try something at the wiifes sister (in real life in most cases the sister would be disgusted too) he would be sleazy enough to also trh something with the child. But probably this family is weird as a whole.
All of you are wrong. I've watched the episode and the dad did abuse his daughter, and not just her. He was a serial abuser. The mother did not want revenge and did not make this story up, nor did she coach her daughter. He got with her younger sister while the sister was underage. He also raped their middle sister.
Of course you do.
Not watched it yet but both guilty fucking hate this world sometimes

I feel like people think he's innocent bc he's played by Bradley Whitford! They chose the perfect actor for this role bc there's no actual way that man would do something like this, so the audience assumes he's innocent!
