How To Replace An EVAP Purge Valve In An Ecoboost Mustang - EDG Classics

- In this video, we replace the EVAP purge valve in a 2016 mustang ecoboost, but this can be done to any ecoboost mustang from 2015-2021. This can be the problem of a P1450 code as well as a P144C code and either no code.

It might or u can use a obd 2 reader and reset it yourself

Actually I found out for at least this part, the engine rechecks the code after 15-20 engine starts and after that the check engine light turned off

Ford quoted me $900 for everything I went to orileys and got the part for $70 and did it in like 5 minutes

code will not go away unless you get it cleared auto zone or most your local parts stores will clear them just buy the part from them lol
you can also unhook your battery for ten min I think

Hi my 2016 mustang ecoboost just threw me a code of P144A. I can't seem to find a solution for this specific code, all I could find is solution for code P1450 or P144C. I am wondering if this replacement would fix the code of P144A? Thank you!
Once replaced, would the engine check light be turned off automatically? Or how do you turn off the light?
Did you find out. I changed mine and the light is still on.
You have to reset the codes and then it will go away. We were able to use the FIXD sensor to do that.
Will the check engine light turn off assuming that it was the evacs hose that was the one only problem setting off the engine light? Or is there a reset button to hit after?
You would still have to get the code cleared with a reader for the check engine light to go away.
@@jordanperez4540so with the same obd reader that I used to check what the code was, just plug it in and it should read it and then clear it or ?

Did you say where you got the part? Is it oem or cheap replacement and what should be the price?
It was purchased at the dealership parts department, so it is a factory replacement. The cost was under $100 when we replaced it but part costs have gone up since.

Disconnect your battery for like 10mins and if the problem is fixed the light won’t come back on g

This is literally easier than an oil change. How do they have the rocks to bill people nearly $1k for this job? Unbelievable.
Everyone says to change this and the lpfs but is it necessary on a brand new 2022 ecoboost?

No you have to get a scan tool to delete your codes.
Go to a local shop and ask them to purge the codes
My light still on what can be another thing wrong

It depends on the vehicle. What vehicle is the code showing on?

Brought wife's 17 2.3 eco-turd to Pines Ford at 86k misfire at times.. No code. They couldn't find it. So I put factory # plugs in it. No change. All this under warranty btw. So at 98k brought back b4 100k. Still nuttn.. I put on my scanner. Still didn't rear its ugly head. Long story short. My buddy said look at fuel trims. Sure enough. He pin pointed said bet its purge valve. So now 103k check engine light came on. After being at dealer 3x. These are a bunch of lazy fuchs nowadays. Im 53 yrs old only reason why I waited so long. And not rich enough to unload parts cannon. At it. You would think these kids going to school would know about fuel trim... ME IM A CARBURETOR GUY.. AND NITROUS.. LOL
I know exactly how you feel! Even under warranty, I don’t trust the dealers to accurately diagnose problems. Sad but that’s the industry now.
@@EDGClassics it was the purge valve whole time. It finally reared its ugly head. Check engine light finally came on.. fixed.. 👍👍. From over filling while running..!!.

Yea p144c code and after replacement I’m getting a p0456c code (very small) Evap leak. Not sure if my part is defective or if there another issue somewhere else. Disconnected and reconnected cleared code but it came back.
What was the solution ? , I put a new replacements and continues to idle sometimes when slow down the car dies

Wrong for the purge valve there are no clips there is a button you press and pull up. Stop saying bs on camera and recording it.
