I've been flying RC planes for 50+ years. That was impressive!
He did great! About 6 years ago my friend bought a HABU, and crashed it. It didn't have the SAFE mode though! Our RC field used to get used a lot but not anymore. Pretty sad! Even my friend quit, and he has a bunch of planes.

Its interesting to see yet another aspect of your flying passion. A bit different (and probably a bit less stressful) One thing I must compliment you most of all on however is your continuing and obviously heart felt interaction with your kids. They seem to appear in many of your videos and they always seem to be having fun. Spending time with them as they grows and mature is something that neither of you will ever regret nor forget. It is also a part of family that many parents seem not to understand or just don't care about. Kudos to you!

The Habu STS is a good beginner EDF jet, Very docile yet moves pretty good. Having the SAFE on the flight controller can get you out of a bad situation with the flip of a switch.
I have flown radio control planes with several full-scale pilots and most of them picked it up quickly while some could not grasp it at all.
RC is a great part of the aviation "hobby". Glad to see you trying it . Keep it up !

RC has come a long way. I bought one of the small planes recently and it nearly flies itself... I say nearly as I crashed it pretty quick. I like it except it only likes perfectly still days. Its size is the issue. But it is fun.

Well done! I know it's a lot harder than it looks. My friends were really into RC Air-Craft when I was a kid and it was a lot of fun, but every time they handed me the controls, someth8ing went catastrophically wrong! (The first time the ailerons all went to their maximum setting, the second time the wings fell off, there wasn't a third time, I had to stick to the boats from there on out) :) I wasn't very popular...
I totally had the theme music from Airwolf playing in my head when that guy was flying the rc Airwolf.

gosh this is so cool I watched your other episode where you flew for the first time without any lessons, man that was awesome.
Im surprised! The RC skills have gotten a lot better!!!! The bigger ones are usually easier to fly, not as wind sensitive. You transitioned to the ducted fan well!

Reverse orientation is the hardest part of high speed R/C....where is right and left as it heads towards you!! ( My first rc was a jet, yard sale landing!...then I got a Cub, ahhh much better.)

I love your channel. I've watched all of your videos. I understand you need to have fun sometimes. But as Mike Patey says "back to work"! Get the 310 flying.
Nice flight! Who needs a hairdryer when you have the RC jet!!!
Since there appears to be a lot of experienced pilots at the field, one of them may possibly have tandem controllers that will allow the 2nd "Flight Instructor" to assume control and guide you through the complex muscle coordination while learning to fly. You can also get a "high end" 3-axis gyro to stabilize the flight to control the plane.

These eflite planes come with stabilization technology. If you loose control of the plane, flip a switch and the plane stabalizes itself. For take-offs and landings you are on your own though.
Nailed that landing awesome tricks if I tried to do tricks with that plane I would crash it keep up the good work.

If you succeed it's only because another person flew it, you already have experience or it's on a buddy box. The biggest handicap ever for learning to fly from the ground is a pilot's license to fly from the air. Taught too many. A Habu is at least a 3rd season of flying model.

Time to get back to the scrap hanger and show us just what damage you have created in getting the chosen wreck to Oshkosh. Some are questioning your choosing to fly a big commercial 777 before learning to fly your first piper cub? Remember all those hours learning the nuances of flight? Choosing to fly that $500 dollar plane instead of using a $100 model until you have mastered the controls has me worried about the 310.
Another fun video. A great group of guys who helped you out. Seems to be a common trait amongst the aviation community regardless of aircraft or type of flying. Are you and the boys going to build the B-25?

Good morning from right up the road in Ocala, FL. Love the channel. Hope to be able to catch up with you sometime at one of your events.
Habu sts is an amazing trainer jet. Get the assisted landing add on and you will not be afraid to fly it since you know it will land well lol. The jet is made to train people to fly jets. It has full safe mode, intermediate and expert. Uses 3s and 4s batteries 3s is perfect for training you get more time less speed. The 4s after you got the hang of it and want the speed. Pop the assisted landing module and you will most likely only crash it if you turn it on expert.

I loved my Sophisticated Lady back in the day, it was a true gem to fly. These days I like mucking around with Wowings S15 Skua. Just beautiful on a coastal slope or hillside. Jake
I recently got into RC flying since my aviation degree program is working with UAS and drones, so they have us doing not only quadcopters but RC airplanes. I recently put together a Flite Test Mini Arrow (flying wing) and that thing is scary fast. I also bought a UMX Turbo Timber but it is so light, it really needs calm winds to fly. I have to hand it to the RC gurus, for us licensed pilots, we have to unlearn a lot of things to fly outside the airplane! Throttle down on final to land is not good! (As I am repairing my Turbo Timber from the nose planting I gave it. However, shortest landing roll ever! CRUNCH!
