I had both ears break off the continental generator bracket in less than 20hrs after installing the plane power STC on my A55 Baron. I have 25hrs on the replacement, and a spare for the other side… good luck!
Upgrade the 310... Would have liked to see more details on the alternator install and the new voltage regulator install.

Had one loved that aircraft really enjoy jimmy's videos lost my medical 15 years ago.
Looking really good! I hope you keep the blue interior makes is that much more nostalgic. If ever need an apprentice I’m open to new opportunities, can sleep in the hanger and keeps out all the creepy crawly critters and spiders.

I have to say that the 310 is and always shall be my favorite kite. The alternators are the best upgrade so far. What's next? When I was younger,it my father got me a ride in songbird three. I will remember that day forever. I wish I could just see and touch the Silver Bullet. I had a 67 Firebird that I named Silver Bullet. Funny story about that car involving a cop, the previous owner. At any rate, keep going!!!

Jimmy I'd get Sparky to run you up a new heavier alternator harness to make use of the two separate 70 amp feeds to the battery or batteries. I don't like the idea of being able to switch off the alternator outputs as I didn't think alternators and their regulators liked being run with no load. ( this comment is in regard to the automotive sphere. I was always told don't run an engine with the alternator unconnected.)
Oh man, the vibration must have killed it! We switched all of our air cooled VW’s to alternators in the 80’s, eliminated the mechanical voltage regulators and wow everything just worked!

In 1973-4 I worked at the factory that built the Citicar, my job was too hook up the batteries and do the front end alignment. Sounds like you own the second generation which is faster.
My brother in law was the plant manager and was an expert on them. Unfortunately he passed away in 2013. I don’t know of any living experts on them, however they are pretty simple. Best of luck with it.

Jimmy, I'm in the UK and I bloody love your channel! I fly, but only sailpanes so far... GA out of my budget currently! Good to see what recording tech you use here... For your audio, what you really need is a Zoom F3 32-bit Float Recorder! Bombproof and 32-bit float ensures you will always have useable audio (and in better quality than you currently have... sorry!! 🤪Checkout what 32-bit Float does! Its currently being used on planes on the latest Mission Impossible, in production now). The F3 will run for 4-5 hours on 2 x AA batteries, or you can power it from a USB powerbank for much longer than the capacity of your SD card! Well worth checking 'em out!
I used to work on the Riley Rocket Cessna 310 conversions at Ft Lauderdale Executive Airport in the 60's. Great airplane!

Jimmy, I recommend a separate audio device for audio recording. I use a Tascam Mini Portable Recorder, it is small and you can check your levels. It also doesn't overheat like a GoPro so if one of your GoPros overheats (the one with the audio) you will still have audio if the other camera keeps working.

Micah, I did the same thing for a while until I dumped the GoPros.
I switched to Drift Ghost X cams. They do about 3+ hours out of the box and I added the bigger batteries. Like most cam companies the started record time is a bit optimistic. Drift says up to eight hours with the big batteries but I tested that and it's more like 5.
The thing is I've never had a Drift camera sitting in the sun under the windscreen heat out on me as my GoPros did.
Fair warning Drift customer service is pitiful but the Ghost X cost $99. If I have to replace one a year I'm good with that.
I get the cable from Flight Flix Aviation.
My church AV guy used Tascam recorders all over the sanctuary of the church to record my Christmas CD on the organ. Those things are fantastic.
For sure good recommendation I have used a Tascam and bought one on Amazon after. It is a great choice.

Nice work on the Bullet! Replace all those lead acid batteries with Marine Lithiums, then install a hitch to move the AC around. What's the latest on the Blue Tarp Special can't wait on seeing more videos about it.

Consider calling the little electric car 'Chock' as it reminds me of one in profile. Once you get it running reliably you can truthfully call "chocks away". 👍
7:20 watch out for spiked egg sacs. Brown widows do those. They're less deadly than black widows, but still dangerous. (same red hourglass marking)

CS130 type alternator.. They start out at around 130A on automotive.. they can pull a fan belt apart in short order if not correctly tightened.. Best option on them is dual belt drive if that is an option on "winged critters" Adjustable output could be a good work around..

here's a tip...I use foldable ironing boards as portable tables in my hangar.
No need to put tools and parts down on the floor. Folds flat and hangs on wall.
Lightweight, height adjustable.
Nobody irons clothes any more....so they're often available free.

The "you never know when you're gonna make an unexpected flight" is very true. But in that same spirit, it's smart to preflight the aircraft in the same manner. If you were to take off unexpectedly, you sure would like to have some airspeed indications when coming back...

I had to do the math on that because I thought it would be a big deal but that's only about a 45 pound load. A pound of gold is worth about $22,400, divide that into a $1 Million, you get 44.65 pounds.
That Citicar needs a set of Nissan Leaf lithium-ion batteries (24 would give you 48V @ 130Ah - 12S 4P ) , and an Alltrax motor controller for the original series-wound DC motor.
