I find that the paint on the recent MPs is much better compared to the older MPs. My older MPs have a lot more paint chips than the newer ones. There are people saying that the alt mode soft top is something that Jeep insisted on And the larger Spike is needed to recreate scenes from the cartoon.
This comes with a Spike, Prime comes with a SPike. Did they make too many of those? If you get autobot X that's a third spike. Time for repaints? Maybe paint his shirt the same color as Duke on GI Joe. to make the hologram guy that Hound showed to Spike. They added the Keys, but not the underwater air mask. The rear cover, but not the face mask.
Great review as always, I just transformed mine following your video. Hound looks great, robot feels abit small. Needless to say I will probably never transform him again. There's way too many small bits like Sunstreaker, very time consuming and felt like I was gona break it.
4 oz? It weighs about as much as a Blu-ray, and it's $160? It looks really nice, but is it really worth as much as FT Roadking or two XTB Stunticons? I somehow suspect you got yours for free, lol.
I wish! I do get a discount from my sponsor, but no free toys, sadly! Like I said, I don't think it's worth $160, but for $120, I think it's good enough to warrant the price tag! Don't think that all us reviewers get stuff free, especially not small time reviewers like me. 6K subs? LOL. No one wants to give me free stuff!
@@Paik4Life You're not "small time"--you get mentioned favorably ALL the time on the TFW boards--that's what led me here! Anyway, thanks so much for responding. The other TF reviewer I subscribe to never does. I am honestly surprised you don't get some of the stuff you review gratis--these reviews must be pretty time-intensive. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that $120 price tag.
@@bradbunch637 It's all relative I suppose, but comparing to most other well-known reviewers, I only have a small fraction of both the subscribers and more importantly overall views. For example, Jobby will get 10 to 100x more views in the first day than mine will in months or ever. Even all the big time reviewers that I know personally, GENERALLY don't get stuff for free, just at a discount or they can earn some credits through some referral links. The only stuff I get "free" is MMC/Ocular Max items which I get as compensation for creation of the official video manuals for their products, which is not really "free." It's a common misconception, but one that shouldn't be propagated.
This is a great looking figure. I still wish they found a better solution for the head to work because my OCD kicks in when I see even a little gap. But overall I am excited to get my MP Hound sometime next week. Now all I need is an official MP Jazz and Trailbreaker and my collection will be complete!
Just placed my #ToyDojo order. We can understand Takara's motive for raising the price, but why do you think they have lowered the the paint quality? It really seems to make no sense.
Hey Paik, long time watcher first time commentor... I am thankful for the reviews and glad that you do it. But... is there any way you could zoom in and show the little tabs or just the section that you are transforming at the moment? It's really hard to see what you're doing sometimes.
Soundwave144 Rules will try to move it closer in the future. My autofocus was acting up which is why I wasn’t trying to zoom in or out too much this time.
I always feel like I’m doing something wrong when I transform him into vehicle mode.I haven’t broken anything in the toy at all in fact I have noticed all the toys weak points so I don’t manhandle the thing and break it.

If it didn't bother you before, I don't see why it would bother you now and prevent you from getting him simply because someone else thinks it's too short... Great review Paik. Keep it up!
Hello. I comment for the first time. I think that there is the strange point as I am weak in English, but I'm sorry. The review of the Hound was very fun and saw it. In Japan, damage report many of the joint of each hinge go up, is it all right about the point?
I do not know of any official Takara MP (car bot) with die-cast, be ready to pay the late fee for FT Willis and having watched reviews neither Willis nor Gundog were without issues. I thought about Willis for awhile except for reviewers who were supremely disappointed with either breaks or pieces falling off. I'm glad Takara released this Hound and I'll be picking one up eventually from Amazon Japan for around $138, inflated for what MP's were, yes, but most of their past releases can still be purchased for reasonable prices, even less than the new release prices. So Hound became one of the few characters I needed to fill out the cast, and though the price is high, this far invested I do not mind as much, especially seeing this as an improvement over all the past releases of this character, even releases with die-cast.

Agree, paint in optimus v3 and sunstreaker are great. Look at wheeljack, or ultramagnus, is only raw plastic

doro626 also MP45 comes with spike. So out of the last 4 MP releases 3 have a spike. The one that doesn’t is Black Arachnia....

Professor D many attribute it to moving factories to Vietnam. I’m not sure if that’s why the drop in overall QC but it could be!

That suuuuuuucks! Hopefully you can get a replacement. I heard of some broken hinges out of box from a lot of folks. I hope you get straightened out!

The arm length is only a tiny bit short for proper human proportions, but the arm length is correct for screen accuracy.

The lack of kibble or a huge back pack in robot mode is outstanding.
