- Saints Row is here and boy is it nice to have this genre properly represented on the Nintendo Switch. Things are not perfect on the Nintendo’s machine however - but is it still worth getting this Grand Theft Auto open-world destroy em up? Let’s find out!

Any 360p Early Birds!? BUYING/Bought Saints?? So now that Red Dead Redemption 2 is finished do we think Rockstar might bring GTA 5 to Switch? Would you double (triple) dip on that if it comes? Mark
Yes i would, but it might be a little difficult though, that is a massive detailed open world with lots of life, and till now this is the only thing that is remotely similar, anyway nice job guys

Ahh yes i forgot it ran on the Xbox, and supposedly the power of the switch is comparable to ps3, it sounds doable
Does it have gyroscope aiming?
The only question is could Rockstar get GTA V to run in handheld mode given it's around a 40% GPU drop off.
Fortunately Nintendo have overclocked the Switch for various games to run better in handheld mode i.e. Mario Odessey, Zelda and MK11 and I think the GPU was boosted by around 20% so GTA V should run on the Switch without many sacrifices.
While GTA V did run on last gen consoles the difference is they had more power to play with ie the amount of electricity they could push through the chipset. The Switch in handheld mode gets it power from a battery and as such is very limited.
Been playing in 2021 and its dramatically improved. Motion controls now exist and work great I havent ran into any real issues with framerate. It's worth picking up if you want a great sandbox game for your switch.
Bought it today, waiting for it to finish downloading, look forward to it, first saints row I'll be playing but heard its the best overall :)

@@matthewcharles9813 really smooth 90% of the time, even when there was some drop it wasn't to an unplayable point, completed the game twice and had alot of fun

I personally really enjoy this game on Switch. I've never played it before so it doesn't bother me with the framerate issues.

I just picked this game up with my Switch Lite and I love this game. Great game to have fun and play on my break at work.
Game has lots of improved features now such a good motion controls and frame rate and you can even turn in and offf dynamic resolution and personally I'd say it actually looks substantially better in docked mode and it goes on sale pretty often for like 17 dollars

I loved this the first time I played it and I’m pretty sure ill love it again when I play it on the switch. Sometimes it’s nice to just play a fun game and that’s definitely what this is !! Great review 👍🏻 subbed

This was one of those games (along with Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and Dynasty Warriors 8 XL) that I wanted to see ported over to Switch, but never thought would actually happen... and then it happened, and now I can't wait to finally get it. Hopefully we eventually get ports of the other Saints Row games, and I also hope this will goad Rockstar into finally porting over more of their games like Red Dead Redemption.

When GTA 5 came out I was burnt out from the series and watch dogs brought me back into it, I'm loving it so much on my switch I'm so hyped to play it im enjoying it like crazy and I'm having no frame rate issues it's perfect my switch collection just keeps getting better and better

@@f12got49 Actually the switch could run gta 4. A gt 710 and core 2 duo can run gta 4 with 2gb ram. Or an athlon x2 and r7 240 with 2gb ram. Switch is better than that.
Probably worth picking up at some point. Love the fact it glides in handheld. You know this will drop or turn up in the eshop for half the price. I will keep a look out. Great review as always
Just bought it on eshop for 12$ and got part 4 for 2.97$
Literally just finished this game. Holy moly, it was fun. I had never played a saints row game before, and it's crazyness was just perfect. When I get some spare money I'll definitely be moving onto 4.

4 is pretty repetitive and the story just sucks imo. SR2 is the best. Have to wait for the reboot to drop tho.

Guess they can just do like many other games and just patch in the motion controls later on. Think it's usually fine that they prioritize performance on release date over quality of life features.
Personally I think performance is pretty good, and guess they will improve it even more as it have likely been optimized for portable play first and foremost like most devs do on the Switch.

I remember playing this game for the first time in 360... The thing is I played this rite before the launch of GTA 5 but because of the cheeky weird style if this game it always stuck with me...
I've played the 4th one as well.
And it not being my favorite I'm actually very excited to return to this one because just like they say in the video the mass variety of things to do in the game...

They make these awesome games with almost everything you need to do and want to do besides the friggin basics, like being able to take cover!

Jordan Starks there’s going to be a big patch improving the gameplay, audio, FPS, and controls. This info is from Saints Row’s Twitter. It’s coming out this week so don’t go passing the purchase just yet!

Right stick aiming to acquire a target, and using left stick aiming to track isn't that uncommon in shooting based games - if you're only right stick aiming, you're either standing still, or not strafing enough.
I guess the issue might be more prevelant with people who aren't familiar with these type of games, but then it's a good skill to learn in any case.
It's for sure the best way to play twin stick FPS but usually it's optional. Here it's bloody essential to get anywhere near them. Mark

It was sad developer confirmed upcoming patches will not imclude the motion control, it was 700mb+ patches focusing on the Perfomance and visual only
I was going to buy this, but with aming setup controls implement like good old days( like Turok 64/legendary Goldeneye,4player split screen )I'm now to bloody old( 52) to adapt again and go back, especially as this game can get very frantic single /CO-OP shooter. ITS a real shame to.

Im really crossed by this one, I love saints row 3rd on my PC and it would be cool to carry all the mayhem on the Switch but performance should be better and visuals don't seem to translate very well either. I'll wait for the post-patch review and get the physical version just in case I regret getting it.

@@SwitchUpYt I've also got the Assassin's Creed 3 collection on preorder and can't wait for its release in a couple of weeks as well! You know, I find it very strange though that Nintendo hasn't uttered a single word about it yet in the eShop or the News page on the Switch. Makes me wonder, are they just not going to be offering a digital version of the game? I mean, im a physical copy person myself on any game that gets a physical release, but it just seems weird for such a big AAA release (especially since it's really 2 games in 1) to be only a couple weeks away, and in the Coming Soon page in the eShop they have other titles shown all the way out to August even, but literally nothing on Assassin's Creed.

Wanted to buy GTA trilogy on Switch but the reviews are clearly. Then I remembered this game and all the good reviews so I am going to buy this rather.
Your review has saved me the trouble of considering buying a Switch (for now). Had I owned the system I may well have purchased SR3 but dropping £279.00 to play an Xbox 360/ps3 game isn’t justifiable

Main issue im having is the game freezes after playing for a few hours. So i have to save frequently. To make sure i dont lose my progress. Other than that im having a blast.
Just picked a copy up for $25. I had part iv on my switch lite few years ago, but now part 3 on reg switch its awesome, haven't docked it yet. Some older games are better. Love the graphics in this !
Love it so far... saints row 3 on the go is the best .. I hope more sandbox games will come to the switch 😊

At least its still playable and before long there will be a patch to iron out any problems. Loved playing this when it first came out and still looks like a lot of fun. Just enough action and the right amount of silliness . Cant wait to play ! Hope this leads to a GTA game soon !!
Gta just lets you toggle through targets with one button, at least it used to when I played it in the ps2 era.

I been playing it, its really fun i use to have on the ps3 but i like on the switch i haven’t experience to much frame-rate. I did experience a few when playing . Like sometimes with the driving but other then that i have no complain. I been wanting to play online but my wifi kinda janky and also the aiming but other then that no sure what else. I do wish they let you change fighting style like in saints row 2
I really did enjoy my time with this game, back on the PS3, but I didn't love it so much that I need it now on my Switch.
This review makes me want a GTA3, GTA:VC, and GTA:SA port for my Switch so badly. COME ON ROCKSTAR, GIVE US A COLLECTION ON THE BLOODY SWITCH!

When is the patch?
It’s a good game overall in the switch and was my first game on the switch but it’s fun to play on the go or docked on the tv plus you get all DLC
You would think your review would be enough to sell me the game but I also got the ad for the game while I was watching, and three times.

I used to think GTA V on Switch was a tall order, and that 3, 4, Vice City, or San Andreas would be more likely... but playing SR3 now has me wondering about it

Man if I what to think about this heard that the cons out way the pros and hopefully the new patch that was supposed to be released same day as release but got postponed hopefully it will fix the problems I guess we'll see

Yes exactly for the price and it being fun still for a 10 yr old game and it being like the 3rd sandbox style on Switch you can't go wrong
its 4 euros now. Ive never played it in my childhood so maybe its time now(im 25)
The aim issue worries me a bit. Confirms my feeling that I'll pick it up when it's on sale. I can't get myself to pay full price since I already own it on PC and know how cheap it often is on there. Still really want this game to scratch that GTA sandbox itch. Thanks for the review boys!

Should be as close as we'll get to a GTA game on the Switch. Will look into it until I see after the patches.

@@SwitchUpYt No. Rockstar's strategy is to make their games once for the platforms and online versions with microtransactions after. They haven't been keen on ports yet. GTA games which have been released on mobile platforms are the only ones I see coming in the future.

This is good buy ppl you wont be disappointed. Me and my son have been playing co op on two different switch systems with no issues and we are having a great time.
