I will be buying the physical of this for myself and my cousin! We played the third all the way through co-op online! When the third saints row was released it was just ok but they patched it quickly and it became a must buy for GTA fans. This is as close as you are going to get to GTA on the Switch. And by this review saying it is good at the start, TAKE MY MONEY!

@IXIGAMES IXI it was available stand alone but technically was a DLC for 4. But nah, it's not. I asked the verified saints row page. They say no plays to add it either.
Looking at this review with it on offer at a 'slightly lower price' of £2.44. Easy buy!

I disagree, Skyrim, Witcher, GTA are not supposed to be played on nintendo. They are too huge to be played properly on the go and in docked mode they look like puked out.

I was always against the Series going so over the top but I'm playing it for the first time due to the crazy 2.44 eshop price and I'm really liking it!. Suits the Switch so well and absolutely embarrasses GTA trilogy in terms of performance. Top notch port this and I probably would have paid more for it!

I really didn't like Saint's Row 2 but having an open world on Switch for 2,50€ is just unbeatable.

too, i want to support the developers to made a SR5. saints row 4 feels like not a really end, what if they would made it reverse. mean they win the fight against the aliens so ...what if they hack everything and get back what this aliens stole from them. 🤷why not its saints row there is always a way.
SR3 was pretty clunky feeling. The aiming wasn't that good either. Though I played SR4 first on 360 before it broke
Payed 20 for it, and had more fun with it then l'd ever wanna admit.
Multiplayer and postgame are also awesome.
Also those references.. MetalGear, Samus etc. Great stuff.
Also: Telekinesis rocks.
It's a really fun and hilarious game. If you expect it to be more of a Superhero open world game with GTA-Lite elements, you're going to be having a super-powered blast, and laughing all the time.
Played and finished SR3rd on Switch and loved it. Pre-ordered SR4 hard copy and now really looking forward to digging in. Thanks for the great review.
This game is really fun for 2.74 or whatever it’s on sale for now, I couldn’t recommend any more, if you’ve played previous Saints row games imagine becoming Neo from the matrix as well as the President while defending from and Alien invasion and rescuing your gang 😂😂
This game looks really interesting and absolutely insane, honestly I’m discovering some really interesting and fun games on Switch since I’ve not had my Switch very long and yes the Switch is my only option so I’m looking to pick this up now it’s very cheap now, great review.
Hoping the big retailers drop the price $5-10 like usual. Makes it such an easier buy for a physical game.

Looks to be a good port, but it’s a series I never played. Good vid sir. I am genuinely excited for the Samurai Jack game.

Interesting review as some people prefer number 3 to this one, I guess it’s all down to personal tastes.
I think for some folk 3 was still closer to a GTA game where as 4 just went completely off the rails. Some folk didn't appreciate that, personally I love it. I also love 3 but it is very much a game of 2 halves.

The Marzipanster I love 2,3,4 and Gat out of Hell. They are all great in my opinion
my favorite is 3 because it's like SR2 and SR4 combined so it's a good balance of everything but SR4 is a lot of fun as well ;) the endgame stuff after the story isn't the most fun though in SR4

Got it on sale for 12 bucks 50 mins before the sale ended.. I’m only 3 hours in and I have free roamed for an hour and a half of that… one of the most impressive, fun games I’ve ever played. Idk why I’ve slept on it for so long
That looks so smooth saints row 3 I preordered and the frame rate made the game virtually unplayable on switch... but I played it today and it they improved it so much I might actually be able to play it.
I love the saints row series, completely mental fun games that just take the Michael. I liked the presidential bits of 4 but I’m not sure I want to go back to it on the switch. Still I’ll preorder 5 as soon as it’s announced

Never been into Saints Row, but always good to see another decent port Mark.
The Switch port was actually developed by Fish Labs (same development that did the Switch port of Saints Row 3).
That patented "see yaaaa!" at the end took us out way too perfectly with that music LOL.
Lovely review as always guys, can't wait to scoop this up myself. You really can't argue with the third party support Nintendo is receiving and adding all the yummy DLC is just icing on the cake. Looking forward to getting this one!

Game looks decent enough on switch. Not of course impressive, but seems like a definite upgrade from SR3. Personally don't plan on buying it full price, but it doesn't look too bad.

If you are here from the eShop sale, a tip I saw is to switch the game from SD to your Internal storage to fix the stuck loading.

i bought both IV: Re-Elected and The third Remastered very recently, i was shocked to find out they were on ps4 aswell, so i wasted no time lol..i love both of the games so damn much, i had them back on the ps3 aswell, and i went and got platinum trophy for both of them, they really are so much fun

Yeah also played incredible hulk ultimate destruction, same developer (older game).
I didn't like the control scheme for prototype 2 though and the annoyance of that kind of bummed me out the 2nd game.

Doom Slayer prototype 1 and 2 are both really fun games, the first one is really one of the most fun games I have ever played, I’ve played it since my older brother first got it like 10 years ago, the graphics are a bit old obvi but still one of the/ if not the most fun I’ve ever had in a video game ever, I’d start with the first game if I were you

I want to get this game because of the superhero and alien aspect, right now there is a bundle on the eshop for both games for 4 dollars , is it worth it?
I got this on sale one time for FREE. Yup. Like $5.00 or something, and I used all credits I built up on it. Honestly, this game is INSANELY addictive and a great game to pick up, mess around in for hours, and put down. There is just SO much to do. Think of it at GTA V with Superpowers. 😂 It’s incredible, graphics are great, frame rate is solid 30, storyline is weird and funny, gameplay is amazing, and there’s even coop. It’s really cool. It’s like a GTA V/Matrix/Superhero type game. So many cool vehicles to drive too, tons of customization, lots of great weapons, tons of upgrades and unlocks... man, I’m SO lucky to have got this for free but I’d buy it at full price if that’s what you have to do because it’s worth every dollar. 👍🏼

Hi Mark, great stuff mate. I like the look of such fast movement around the open world - reminds me of Sunset Overdrive - a great game you can free run and zoom round the world -I might check this one out at some point for sure

Did you notice that the motion controls for the switch lite are off? Motion controls are fine for most games on the switch lite (Doom and Splatoon), but are off on Saints Row IV, Risk of Rain 2, and Doom 64. Are you willing to check this out and investigate if this is a switch lite issue?
I felt like it felt weird on the original switch aswell?

I really liked Saint's Row The Third. Sain't Row IV Re-Elected looks like a lot of the same elements but just over the top crazy and far less "safe" with it's experimentation and story; and that's saying something because there's some weird/funny/odd ball stuff in The Third. I got this on sale maybe a year ago but haven't played yet since I'm still playing The Third to complete 100% every quest and also got the GTA trilogy that I've also been 100% running starting with and STILL on San Andreas. It's amazing how much is jam packed into San Andreas alone.
3 is still my favorite, I just couldn't get into the super powers, it felt like it took something away from the game.

Found this game physical on sale for 15 bucks at Target. This game is great. Not sure bout the graphics score but believe me they're better than this review leads you to believe. Almost all the issues he speaks of are unnoticeable during play. I know they have to be critical. It is a review but i had nothing but a good time. Looks great. Plays great. Plus it's physical and it's a steal at 15 bucks. If this is your type of game than get it you wont regret it.

I got the opposite of a quarantine. I've been working hella hours lately. Been too busy to finish DOOM Eternal, and DOOM is my favorite game series of all time.
I've worked so much overtime because my job has been declared an essential business. Temporary $2 an hour raise plus 20 hours of overtime means I can buy tons of game. I just don't have the time to play them. Lol
I feel like this reviewer is the first person to see SR4 and think "WOW what a nice addition to the series!"

Does this game keeps your powers/upgrades when you replay it after you finish the game?
Can you suggest me some games on the Switch that keeps your stats after finishing it excluding roguelike/roguelite games.
Just rememeber the glitchs that were never fixed. The infinate loading screen after the ship mission. I bought it and got pretty annoyed.

Man the soundtrack on this game was insane. I loved that spaceship mission so much when I played it as a kid, and man that mission were I need a Hero plays, absolutely genious.

I’m playing this on my gf’s switch and I’m really impressed with it so far. I had tried to play it on my ps3 when it came out, but it ran so poorly (frame rate so bad) I couldn’t finish it, and a game has to run pretty bad for me not to finish it.
The switch version runs really well, and the game is so much fun, if you haven’t played it before and like open world games you should definitely check it out!

@@MrIDGAF it was just the frame rate when I would do the speed running. It was so slow I just couldn’t put up with it.

I bought it on sale on the ps3. I bought re-elected full price on ps4. Now I bought the game again on sale on my switch. Yeah saints row is a game you would probably not regret buying.
Very unhappy about this coming out so soon after Animal Crossing. Haven't played any SR game so I'm super excited to get this when it comes out. Unfortunately it will have to compete with me playing Animal Crossing. Great time to be a Switch gamer.
I would say, play atleast the third first. The story is like back to back. 4 is also known to be more 3.5.
And about animal crossing. No problem. That's not a game you play for hours and hours without end. You should more play it in smaler bursts to have a better scale of this game. :)

Basically saints row 3 is a little more serious as you are a gang leader and is like gta. And 4 is a complete over the top maxtix like game with super powers and space. Personally I like 3 more

You should have mentioned, that they also totally updatsd the third. The performance is much better and also dynamic resolution, auto aim and gyroaiming possibilities now. I mean, this was one chancs forgiven, to redeem the third, and than talk about 4. I hope they will also port SR2.
I don't tend to like open world/Sandbox games don't tend to but I really liked SR4. The main campaign felt like a parody of various tropes yet keeps me entertained by making them fun.
Saints row 4 might not be my favorite saints row but for like 3$ it was impossible not to buy it for my switch lmao

It reminds me of Crackdown fused with GTA - i think it was smart to make a point to make THIS the one that isnt a 'GTA knockoff' in essence

I just bought it a few days ago and its awesome. Definitely one of the best “GTA clones” ever.
As far as performance, it still has an infinite loading screen glitch that comes about time to time. It really annoyed me at first, but as long as you save often, its not a huge deal.
