Having front and rear dashcams help with that. The rear has a 170 degree lens and is high mounted. They won't blind it with their headlights and spotlight. Not so much that. But he would be on the suspect list. And that rationale would apply to anyone who is the area for any reason. Go jogging? You're a suspect. Driving home from work? You're a suspect! Going for a walk and filming the neighborhood? Oh boy, you're going to jail! This is the kind of "policing" that was one of the inspirations for the American Revolution and is what the provisions in the US Constitution were designed to prevent. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court (which is supposed to the the final guardian of the Constitution) has allowed numerous violations of that Constitution in the name of "officer safety" and officers "just doing their job" to the point where US police officers are now often viewed as more the cause of problems than the solution to them.
@@lejlejthat happens often in the US. There was an instance locally when a SWAT officer lost his rifle. I can think of a more famous instance where a BLM agent's gun was used in a criminal shooting and when they recovered the gun and realized who it belonged to they also found it had never been reported lost.
And they can't even type a simple report properly. "Official" police reports are often riddled with typos, misspellings and inaccurate or false information or even outright lies. In fact, it's usually not even the arresting officer, but another officer with second-hand information who swears or affirms under penalty of perjury that the information is true to the best of her knowledge, which is bs because their knowledge of what happened is limited to whatever they were told and they rarely seem to face penalties, let alone for perjury.

Dude that was Mr. Bill. I have no idea why he would think he didn't have to provide ID, its literally in the paperwork when getting a license that you must carry one and you must provide it to law enforcement if operating a vehicle and asked. The definition of operating is even skewed to basically mean have the keys and be able to drive it. Remember operating a vehicle is not a right. This whole thing could have gone down much more smoothly had he produced the legally asked for id.
What you don't know is that that police officer has some of those pale guys that float around in milk looking for future crime like in Minority report. So, yeah, there you go know-it-all, this cop was doing his job, and looking out for future crime. But you guys would want it the old way, where you gotta commit a crime before you can be arrested. Come on, it's 2023.
Officers see problem in everything. People are driving... its problem. People are relaxing in car, from driving... its problem Is there a time when cops didnt see problem in anything?
Now you see how so many innocent people are thrown in jail, many of whom can't afford a lawyer, so end up pleading guilty to a lesser charge, AFTER they have sat in jail for a year or two

Sometimes it's more fun to see how stupid they can make themselves look, this guy seems like he has the temperament to be able to do that successfully.
Police departments should be fined every time an officer goes out on patrol without a bodycam or mic. Similar to how a business gets fined by OSHA if their employees don’t follow the rules. I also didn’t realize you couldn’t park up somewhere unless you live there crazy world we live in.
This PIG just said "If a crime happens in this area someday later... I'll have a known suspect..." Which means, When you give your ID to a PIG, they are going to charge you with the next crime that is committed. Great Policing.
I think what really gets these officers is the fact that they don’t have as much power as they are taught or think they do and their egos can’t handle it.
This is why they take great pleasure in victimizing marginalized groups and minority groups who don't have the financial or political power to fight back in meaningful, longlasting way
They aren't authority figures peace keepers maybe but when the police keep asking for more and more money they need to justify their existence and the only way to do that is keep arresting people regardless of guilt since their superiors are on board with it they have something to guard themselves
As a prior law man I find it suspicious that any officer would go on duty without all his/her equipment. There is no reason to leave a body camera "at the office" and go out to perform duties in todays world. They have other cameras that can be checked out. If you are doing nothing wrong it will show that. If you are on the other hand being shady it will show that as well. Please do your job so that the public starts to trust you again is my point.
They don't care about trust. They only care about what they can and do get away with. And body cams won't stop bad cops because they literally don't care. They know the department will protect them. Derek Chauvin, Alexander Kueng, Tou Thao and Thomas Lane murdered a man while all of their body cams were filming. The MPD immediately tried to coverup for them by claiming George Floyd died of a "medical event". MPD officers were also caught shooting at civilians from an unmarked van and without identifying themselves as police. According to their body cams they were "hunting" civilians. Jaleel Stallings, a victim, sued and it cost taxpayers a great deal of money. And those officers were not fired or reprimanded. And two of them even went on to kill Amir Locke. All recorded as well! They don't care. There's no repercussions. So what do they care if it's recorded if there's no finincial, criminal or professional repercussions anyways? Rarely anything happens. If the get fired they'll just be rehired with backpay or hired the next department over.
Exactly. If you forgot it at the office why didn’t you just swing back by to grab it? You are driving in a car with gas both paid by the tax payers, so there’s no reason he couldn’t go back.
"you are in an area that you do not inhabit" - ok Sherlock, that applies to approximately 99.9999999% of all existing areas. That's one of the main purposes of a car: to travel to and from the area you inhabit.

And have used that as a way to try to throw bogus charges at me when i let them run my name, thinking i had nothing to hide so i should be safe. I learned quickly, never cooperate with cops, ever, for your own safety.
It wouldn't. The officer here clearly stated his intentions: he wants to have prior ID on anyone he thinks is suspicious so he will have a suspect in line in the case any hypothetical crime ever occurs in the area. Not only completely illegal and abusive, it shows that if anyone else happened to commit a crime in that area on the same day, the that police officer would immediately accuse this man without ever investigating the actual crime. Arresting someone is usually more important than actually solving a crime.
So is everyone going ignore he lied about the tags coming back to a different car to trap him into giving up his ID? That's ridiculous and I would challenge that part for sure. An officer can't lie about you breaking a law in order to get your ID.

@@Majora96 But though most officers will never reveal the nature of any crime they could be investigating, when push comes to shove, in court they will have to articulate the specific crime of which they had suspicion. Suspicion alone is not enough reason to create an encounter - the Supreme Court used the term reasonable, ARTICULABLE suspicion. . . of criminal behavior.
An LEO must have a “violator” first. A crime or moving violation primary to lawful request for identification. A threat of arrest without an articulation of a crime would have violated Mr Bill’s constitutional rights.

The kicker is that the average citizen does in fact know the police's job better than the police do. Watching 10 ATA videos will give you more collective training than any police officer receives regarding the various laws they are required to follow during a traffic stop.
I worked in Blount (pronounced Blunt) Co . Tn. For 36 years and saw first hand how the sheriff dept. and city police operated. This is how they do business. A homeowner thought his garage was being burglarized and went to investigate with a handgun he owned. For some reason unexplained by the news coverage and the local newspaper a police officer showed up and went to the garage and seeing the property owner inside with a handgun opened fire and killed the owner inside his own garage. Happened about 10 years ago. A settlement was made years later . Law enforcement decliners to ever discuss it, the local newspaper went silent.
My IQ dropped by 50 points after listening to this conversation made by this officer. Once again as I mentiond in all other videos the reason of this extended unlawful detention is the cop's feeling being hurt as admitted @9:05
Stopping real criminals is hard work and dangerous more often than not. Dealing with law abiding citizens is easy and safe more often than not. Hinces why the cop will always rather pull over a guy doing 60 in a 55 vs a guy doing 80 in a 55.
I think there is a reasonable case that the officer obtained his ID illegally which would invalidate any investigation using that information. "Fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine.
This is ridiculous. Have Dispatch run the LP, cross reference the Registered Owner with their DLs, have the DL sent to the Officer’s mdt, and in the time it took me to type this, you just totally bypassed pissing off a citizen and verified who the person is. 98% of the time, it worked for me. The other 2% were people who had no DLs/IDs. These cops just wanna F with people and it’s irritating to those who don’t fuck with people like that.
In the UK cops are also obsessed with getting ahold of your car keys as soon as they approach the driver side. When I got pulled over because they suspected I was drink driving I was fortunate enough to have presence of mind to lock my driver side door and ram my keys into my pocket while the cops were getting out of their vehicle. One IMMEDIATELY tried for the ignition expecting to find keys in it through the open window. Trespassing before they’re even done introducing themselves. Now, I don’t blame them for stopping me. It was 2:35 am on a Sunday morning and I’d been babysitting for my brother so he and his wife could go drinking. And because they’d recently moved to an area of the city I didn’t know I got slightly lost on the way back. Went twice around a roundabout to regain my bearings so… no I don’t blame them. I had nothing to fear, my car, insurance etc were all legal and I was stone cold sober. But they way the cop reached into my personal property to steal my keys which included house keys before even finishing introducing himself irked me. They finished their introduction and asked if I knew why they’d pulled me over. Another annoying thing. Their opening question is an invitation to incriminate yourself with a roadside confession. AKA “I was speeding.” In my case I said it was probably because I’d gone around the roundabout twice. Then they asked where my car keys were. I told them the keys were in a safe place the first time then no comment after that. (Though on account for me being female and both them being male they couldn’t take my keys from my pocket.) They asked why I’d driven around the roundabout. Another pointless question since they were going to breathalyser me anyway. Asked if I’d had a drink and demanded my driving liscence which I duly handed over since they suspected me of drunk driving. They ran me through the system and saw I was all legal. Did the breathalyser which I blew a zero. Though they remained polite through the whole encounter as they handed my driving liscence back, I got the impression they were both disappointed that I didn’t have any car violations or wasn’t over the limit. And that they were oddly uncomfortable about being unable to either get ahold of my keys or that I wouldn’t get into the back of the police car. I insisted on being breathalysed on the pavement. Unfortunately this was years ago, back when I was young and still trusted cops thus I didn’t film it and they didn’t have bodycams. Honestly at one point I thought they were going to radio for a female colleague to come out, reach into my pockets to steal my keys, phone and wallet. (It’s legalised theft IMO. They’d still be taking my possession from me against my will at baton/tazerpoint and threat of kidnap and imprisonment.) I put my keys in my pocket to avoid the psychological pressure of knowing you literally can’t leave or unlock your front door until the cops choose to. Infuriating when you know they don’t have a right to your personal property. Similarly I didn’t want to feel trapped and imprisoned in the back of the cop car since the rear passenger doors can’t be opened from the inside. Sly tricks to get you afraid, angry, tense and off balance. Never trust a cop. Say as little as possible and say nothing unless it’s no comment or a necessary thing to tell them.
That's why I was shocked when the senate turned down the bill that allowed facial recognition technology. They are like this now, imagine what that would do. Take a look at the stuff they are doing in the U.K with that tech, and then imagine if our cops got a hold of it. Complete fascism overnight. I could not believe our government actually did the right thing, just once.

Mr. Bill did an amazing job here. Once again we've seen a blatant misuse of authority by public servants.
It's the only way you ever see them
He CLEARLY LIED about his tag to illegally force his identification.
Dude: "am I free to go?"
Officer: "yes, you're free to go"
Dude: "if I'm free to go then I'm free to stay"
Officer: "wait, no"
And that’s where it went from fine to authoritarian.
Tried to get him with the Ole rabbit season, duck season trick.
I told a cop that same shit, it got 2 other cops called.
😂😂
That's when you roll up the window. I've left this conversation.
Sounds like the cop just informed 'Mr. Bill' that he would be held responsible for any future crimes in the area.
Maybe he saw Minority Report lol
Yeah it sure seems that way.....
Even more reason to not identify yourself when you've done nothing wrong.
That’s EXACTLY why you never identify false imprisonment is in your future with these thugs.
Imagine if officers forgot their guns as often as they "forget" their bodycams.
We would all be a lot safer.

It’s frustrating that a police officers testimony in court is taken more seriously than any other citizen.
I think they should, but also should be held at a higher punishment if caught lying or doing other inappropriate behavior.

Most officers are required to carry a camera and have it switched on in any public encounter. It is a departmental requirement.

My IQ dropped by 50 points after listening to this conversation made by this officer. Once again as I mentiond in all other videos the reason of this extended unlawful detention is the cop's feeling being hurt as admitted @9:05
Cops in the US are weird. He should rather go on and catch real criminals. That's just ridiculous
He's trying to catch some Pokemon.
But. He might be an axe murderer 🧐
They get legal guns and radios and uniforms and think they are movies. Trying to be the tough guy leading role
Stopping real criminals is hard work and dangerous more often than not. Dealing with law abiding citizens is easy and safe more often than not. Hinces why the cop will always rather pull over a guy doing 60 in a 55 vs a guy doing 80 in a 55.
Power trip
Driver: Is this area safer now because you have my ID?
Cop: yes it is because now if anything happens I can pin it on you.
Lmao
“And now I have that on video to use in my defense alongside my alibi that I infact did not commit said future crime. Thank you officer”
thats exaclty what i heard form this lol
I think there is a reasonable case that the officer obtained his ID illegally which would invalidate any investigation using that information. "Fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine.
@@harmonicarchipelgo9351 he is probably good on that just not the rest of the stuff he said. lol
Cops in these videos tend to have one thing in common: They MUST have your ID. They need it. They crave it. They will go to any lengths to acquire it.
(Though on account for me being female and both them being male they couldn’t take my keys from my pocket.)
They asked why I’d driven around the roundabout.
They’d still be taking my possession from me against my will at baton/tazerpoint and threat of kidnap and imprisonment.)
I put my keys in my pocket to avoid the psychological pressure of knowing you literally can’t leave or unlock your front door until the cops choose to.

They are like this now, imagine what that would do. if a cop hears "if i'm free to go, i'm free to stay" they might as well go about their business. read a book of law.
"so i give you my ID and now if there's a crime i'm a suspect?"

Perfect example of why some people are always suspicious of the police: if they want to find a "valid" reason to ticket/engage/detain you then they will.
key word here is "FIND"
This is a perfect example of why we're seeing the general public turn against law enforcement.

"We're not hiring our best. We're hiring people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems into our lives. They are egomaniacs. They are uneducated on the laws they are supposed to enforce. They are abusers of power - and SOME, I assume, are good officers." -A person we wish would exist in high profile politics
Actually, your comment is the example of that. The irony. Think about it, it's pretty silly to claim that policing is much worse today than 70 years ago. We are seeing more bad cops because there are more ways of documenting it. You don't have to be suckered into a hyperbolic worldview to be able to condemn idiotic and/or evil cops, and according to all polling, claiming that the "general public is turning against law enforcement" is ironically the biggest reason people are turning on law enforcement. The problems are rarer and more visible than ever. If you haven't grown up enough to realize how it's possible for something to be rarer and more visible, then I don't know what else to say.
That and all the shootings

If the cop was right about having to have id on you at all time you'd be breaking the law if someone robbed you of your identification documents according to his logic
There's no hope for the retraining of officers like this they need to be removed from any law enforcement job.
This jack boot mentality undermines real law enforcement.
The officer takes a week just to say "Everyone on Earth is suspicious."
Edit: Mr. Bill deserves that A+
Mr. Bill was right when he said something along the lines of: "I get it, you've lost all trust in everybody."
Thanks, I appreciate the compliment.
He legit wanted the guy's info, lying to get it. Just so he can explain to the dude. "Now if something happens. We can arrest you. Because we know it's you." Brah, you high af right now, huh?
@Sir Scofferoff The thing is if the cop wanted to do that. If he had his body camera he could casually talk to the dude. Leave. Boom got the guy's face and plat number. So if someone who breaks in fits his description. You have their plate to track them down. Having his name and shit doesn't do anything even if he was stealing. Because you lack what he looks like.

This was a textbook example of unlawful “prior restraint”, and I’m surprised AtA did not point this out. Great job by Mr. Bill.
@Cat Butt Sorry for the delay. Prior restraint in its simplest explanation in this case is the cop assuming you are going to break the law if he doesn’t stop you in advance: “I’m going to run you off before you break the law because I’m certain that is your intention.” Obviously, the law doesn’t allow cops to be mind readers.
