He claims he visually estimated a few miles over the speed limit without even knowing the speed limit. And he wants us to believe he didn't just make that up on the spot. What a clown
That method of checking the license for legintmesy and making stuff up on a ticket and report because the driver handed the license looks similar to the strategy of drugs "sniffing" cops because you let them search your car they can and too many times will take it as you just pled guilty regardless if there were no drugs in the car, they knew entirely what they were doing is wrong.
Agreed, this is F behavior. "But we've seen similar situations go much worse" yeah, and those are worse, but this one is still really bad. These cops shouldn't get an average score just because they didn't get into a violent altercation. This channel sometimes. 🤦♂️
I remember a story where the cop in court said he eyeballed the person speeding without actually using a radar. The judge picked up a pencil and threw it across the room. He then asked the cop "how fast was that pencil going?". The cop was dumbfounded. Case dismissed.
That sounds exactly like something I would have done if I was the judge. I tell you the crime in this country is outrageous and the crime in our government legal system is outrageous. If there was a scientific social study done of the 60 years after they took the Bible and prayer out of our schools and the 60 years previous they would have to admit wholeheartedly it was a complete failure and needs to be reversed immediately.

ATA seems to use "A+" through "F" as a replacement for the 10-1 scale. Which I often find annoying, as many places a "D" is still a passable grade, and "F" is a whole range of grades, of varying levels of failure; ranging from barely not passable to utterly abysmal failure. I really think ATA should just switch to 1-10, as that seems to be more in line with how he wants to grade things. Or he needs to have some type of caveat on any "F" grade to explain how bad of a failure it was.
If you give these guys an F, you give no separation from the cops who would have escalated this to an arrest or worse. I understand AtA's use of a "curve" when grading - it can't all be As and Fs.
I was stopped by an officer that then turned off his lights and pulled up next to me after about a minute and said I had the wrong car. he was looking for a stolen car that matched mine. @@PiLLO360 - There were two times. In one case, the cop was looking for a car involved in some kind of crime that involved a hit-and-run (I don't know if it was just a hit & run). Apparently, it was the same type of car that I had at the time, which was a common car (a Dodge Aries / a K-car). My car had damage on it, but that damage was from a while ago. There was another time where I wasn't in a car, I was walking home from a party with a boy, and the police stopped us because apparently a couple was stealing from houses. @@someguy3717 the fact that the officer is quoting the law directly instead of the facts of the specific case is just more evidence that he was trying to stick a violation on the guy with no evidence.
Texas statutes state that a public roadway has a reasonable leeway of 10% or 5 mph, whichever is less. This means a 20mph school zone is 22, not 25; residential is 33mph, not 35; but highways of 70mph are 75, not 77. This is actual Texas DPS statute and something you should know if you drive in the state of Texas, especially if you do more than 22 in a school zone, where fines are doubled.

And how he supposedly lost track of my car visually for over a mile as he had to go around from south bound to catch up to me going north bound and I had only gotten on the on freeway like 3 miles back to start with. I believe he got me mixed up with another car, because I was doing almost 10 under what he said I was. Not all law enforcement is corrupt. I religiously watch these videos to further ensure I’m doing my job properly. I enjoy watching these to further enhance my knowledge
I posted this initially when I saw this on another channel but I'll ask it here. Can anyone tell me how an officer could know he was going 2.5 miles per hour over the limit without a radar and without a speedometer giving tenths of a mile??? This cop is not only the biggest liar I've ever seen but a complete egomaniac for not allowing the driver to leave because of his own mistakes.
I got pulled over once by a motorcycle cop as he claimed that I ran a red light. The light in question was on a street with a public school and during the summer, the light is changed to a flashing red light. I explained to the officer that the traffic light was a flashing red light but he still insisted on arguing with me and wrote me a ticket. I checked the box on the ticket that I request to challenge the ticket in court with the officer present. Court day came and the officer didn't show in court so my infraction was dismissed.
Actually, if the officer thought the driver was doing 10% over 20 or ever 25 mph, and it turned out that the real speed limit was actually 30, then by his own words, the cop clocked the fellow driving under the speed limit.
It's partially because they're trained to project authority, command respect, shut down people arguing with them and force compliance. Being wrong means they lose the ability to do this, so they strive to appear to be right even when they're wrong. Training needs to change so they realise that compliance is voluntary unless you're detaining someone, and making sure that they have the training to know where they are allowed to detain someone.
This might be a big ask but if you were to put these videos into a playlist based on individual states so we can study our own states encounters would be awesome and put you on the next level
I like hearing about the different state laws. Isn’t this guy already putting huge amounts of research into each video without having to make a 50 state playlist for each video. And since the First Amendment covers all 50 states, I think that is kind of selfish.
to his defense he makes it clear with a disclaimer that his videos should not at all be construed as legal advice. making state based playlists for the purpose of him describing those state statutes to you for your use could go against that
You will never dispel their suspicions for pulling you over and demanding ID when driving a vehicle as they can literally invent any number of additional violations they are "investigating": driving erratically, suspicious, "got a call", in a "high crime area", speeding, driving too slow, etc.

@@noodlepoodlegirl also if a cop in the states is asking if you have anything expensive on you always say “no, just 5 bucks” but otherwise if they are asking for something reasonable and you aren’t breaking any laws just show it to them. They are probably just covering all of their bases.

The firework had then started a small fire in a bush, and I called 911 and remained on scene to make sure it got put out (which it did, by a couple of residents with fire extinguishers). 911 told me to call back if it reignited, I said okay, hung up, began to leave, and then the police pulled up and detained me for 3 hours in that uncomfortable ass squad car backseat, trying to tell me they had me on video and had witnesses saying I lit it… Don’t believe their lies lmao, I eventually got out with no charges.

I commend Mr. Patriot for already having the knowledge of his rights before. Being in Texas, he likely experienced or witnessed from other accounts the unlawful practices of Texas cops.
Texas Sec. 521.025. LICENSE TO BE CARRIED AND EXHIBITED ON DEMAND; CRIMINAL PENALTY. (a) A person required to hold a license under Section 521.021 shall: (1) have in the person's possession while operating a motor vehicle the class of driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle operated; and (2) display the license on the demand of a magistrate, court officer, or peace officer.
this is one of the most important videos of all time actually, especially how in-depth you went into explaining to the public what their 4th amendment rights actually are and helping people and HOPEFULLY our leos understand that just because you can ask for an ID doesn't make it a reasonable stop and we ALL even leos know that every single day the 4th amendment is being violated by officers because people just don't, in general, understand the 4th amendment like you have explained it here in this video
I’m foreign so I’m struggling a bit to understand how an officer asking for your drivers license while you’re driving is a violation of the 4th amendment.
@@idas6475 they have to have reasonable articulable suspicion of a violation to demand your documents. They aren’t allowed to just pull people over for no reason. It’s called freedom. Try reading our Constitution again.
@@idas6475, I appreciate the way you stated your confusion, so I hope this response helps. First, the beginning text of the 4th A: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” Driver’s licenses would fall under “papers”; they have personal information, which especially now would allow anyone to steal your identity. But even back when this was written, they recognized the right to privacy (in your own home or property) as sacrosanct. Since, as the video states, the US Supreme Court has ruled that officers of the law must have probable cause or reasonable articulable suspicion to enact a traffic stop in the first place. In this case, where the driver dispelled this officer’s PC or RAS, there was no longer any reason for the stop, thereby no reason to see (or run) his license. Texas law is clearly written very poorly on this, and seems designed to encourage what is known as “pretextual stops” (traffic stops created by officers either out of thin air which they think the driver can’t or won’t fight, or by following someone long enough that they commit a petty infraction. The officer does not care about the so-called infraction, they are just using it as an excuse to run your information for warrants, and to hopefully find a reason to search you and your vehicle). But here, I believe, is the answer to what you’re really asking: What is the big deal about officers “running your info”. Many ask this, and many get pretty defensive about it. From my perspective, these folks either have never felt the results of an officer running their info more than once in a certain period of time, and/or have no idea how these informational systems work (such as NCIC). I have had folks argue with me, that these do not put any red flag or ding on you, but they are wrong. Get pulled over twice in one month (for petty infractions, made-up infractions, or something that is not even unlawful), and see how you’re treated differently on the second stop. (“Says here you were pulled over two weeks ago by department ABC, what was that about?” Don’t let them fool you, they know full well why you were stopped, this is a test, to get you talking to say ANYTHING to give them a reason to violate you more). Think about what that supervisor in this video said. If true, Texas LEOs would never need a reason to pull you over, to randomly “check your license”. I don’t want to live in that world, do you?

ATA seems to use "A+" through "F" as a replacement for the 10-1 scale. Which I often find annoying, as many places a "D" is still a passable grade, and "F" is a whole range of grades, of varying levels of failure; ranging from barely not passable to utterly abysmal failure.
I really think ATA should just switch to 1-10, as that seems to be more in line with how he wants to grade things. Or he needs to have some type of caveat on any "F" grade to explain how bad of a failure it was.

The officer didn't even know what the damn speed limit was.
Cop actually admits he was going 27.5. In a 30 zone. So he wasn’t speeding based on their flawed logic.
The logic isnt proven at this point, so technically, the cop is making a ‘valid’ point. Both of them are unaware of the actual speed limit. We have the hindsight knowledge. But the cop is still an azz!
If anything, going 16 in a 30 zone could theoretically be called going too slow, but the cop already said "speeding" so he couldn't change his story more than he already had.
and also even if the speed limit was 25, then he'd only be going 2.5mph OVER which is over and STIIIILLLLLL not speeding. So under literally no circumstances could he have been speeding based on the cop's logic

Being wrong means they lose the ability to do this, so they strive to appear to be right even when they're wrong.

"You're speeding"
"How fast was I going"
"A speed that allows me to give you a ticket "
In Tennessee I was stopped by a state trooper. He thought I wasn't wearing my seat belt. When he walked up and saw it on he asked if I had it on the whole time (he knew I did because my arm was out the window) I said absolutely he said your free to go. We talked for a couple of minutes I told him I thought he pulled me over because my passenger wasn't wearing their seat belt. He said he didn't see that and that wasn't why he pulled me over so he couldn't even ticket the passenger. By this time the passenger had the seat belt on. After talking for the few minutes I left.
You self snitched, don’t do that cause they totally can ticket for it of they wanted too. I’ve seen a few too many petty cop videos.
@@YourKingJDG if your in my car without a seatbelt I think you need a ticket. My husband never wears it and it gets under my skin. My car now dings till he puts it on I love it.
That’s a pleasant encounter. Depending on how it’s handled I think this is actually fine. A officer of the law politely reminding you he’s seen way too many car accidents and that you are not immune to them and to please buckle their seatbelts and be safe.
@@staceybowers3945 don’t wanna be in your car stacey
I know a guy who was pulled over. The cop asked if he was wearing his seat belt before being pulled over. He admitted he wasn't. The cop said good thing you didn't lie because your seatbelt is out the door scrapping on the road creating sparks. That's why I pulled you over. Haha.
This is what's called pushing the goalpost.
It's honestly disturbing how many officers really don't know their jobs....but here they are
Mr. Patriot did amazing. Hope I can do that well if I ever face that issue.

D is for people who made a significant and costly mistake but never directly challenged the law intentionally.
C is for people who fucked up but never resulted in a loss. Nothing really happened here or was lost. So C
@@FrostReave Why not an F? Because the cop didn’t kill him or beat him? You know it’s wrong when you have to grade someone for assault. These cops deserved an F because they’re ignorant and that can cost a life
Cop: "I pulled you over for this..."
Driver: *Proves 'this' is a lie*
Cop: "Um, uhhh, er....I mean you were speeding."
99% of all cops.
Thats the problem with traffic violations. They're not criminal and there's no victim. All they serve to do is enable police, with BROAD and arbitrary scope, to intrude on motorists for pretextual stops, and serve as revenue generation for literal road piracy
Also 99% of all cops: 99% of the general public knows when they're breaking the law (even though they have a law for every single picosecond of the day).
Mr. Patriot kind of gave him the excuse because he asked, “was I speeding?” Maybe if he hadn’t said that the cop would’ve had to dig around for another “reason” himself...

Didn't rip the guy out of the car and arrest him after they lied therefore the cops get a C-. It just blows my mind how little accountability cops have for being terrible human beings
Lack of Police Accountability in the states is a real thing and is basically even when they break the law they are rarely convicted and jailed. But don’t automatically assume every cop is a bad person.
