Please keep doin this history of type videos. They are so good even if I don't like the label or designer you're presenting. It's just super entertaining.
I wholeheartedly agree with you he constantly opening stores and subdivisions and being honest the quality sucks and no one wears it but somehow it operation as a successful brand.. he tried to hire all the rappers to wear it and it still didn’t catch
Such an honest, refreshing view at PP. I *only* knew of his through soccer stars and being the butt of jokes from many people from the fashion industry. Yes, I wouldnt be caught dead with any of his logoed/swarovskied looks but he has some interesting pieces I would wear and I do respect him as a designer and a human being. Thanks for doing this vid.
this video did help me understand more about his brand and see that his controversies aren’t too bad (at least what was shown here). now i just see him as a Luxury Ed Hardy
Threaducation thank you so much for the work you do to create these videos. I currently work at PP and this was extremely informative and entertaining to learn the most in-depth details about something I know so well. Cheers mate
This is one of my favorite Channel, i’m not a fashion guy but I do find these videos very educational and put a light on some things that I would’ve never known or care to know keep it up!
Absolutely love it. As a person who is trying to start my own label its awesome watching these types of videos. Love fashion documentaries and i would suggest Googling them and checking some out. Appreciate all the hard work you put into these for us. Keep it up.
Yeah I’m glad he exists just to parody the fashion world as a whole. He really embodies how much fashion/the rest of society is really just a pyramid scheme of riches/demonstrations of class and separation, without any of the transcendental pretence ‘understated’ high fashion brands try to come up with. The Kobe collection I feel like was his peak of that, because obviously he didn’t consciously mean disrespect, but in our society the need to demonstrate/boost your image is such a constant (even in times of grieving tragedies) that it obviously comes off as so hilariously insensitive. Usually celebrities or fashion brands would do that in an ‘understated’ way by posting their personal reaction, or publicising a donation or maybe dedicating a t shirt and boosting their PR in the process, but PP just takes it to 100 and makes a whole sparkly collection out of it with vehicles wrapped in his own name (seems like a South Park episode lol). He is the Trump of fashion imo, hope he continues showing how much of a commercial shitshow it is
And his NFT's are not a pyramid scheme? oh wait no your right those are just an outright scam, or the instant discount on his items the next day after you bought it.
Admittedly, I avoided watching this video because of the way he’s been portrayed in the media, but I do love the way you told his story. And I’ll say that I have indeed developed a different view of his brand and journey. This isn’t an endorsement, but I appreciate your history lesson and look forward to more videos.
A lot of ppl don’t know that Ferrari is by invitation only. It does matter how rich or famous you are you can’t just buy one. Once you buy via invitation there is a huge contract you must sign. Some of the clauses are that you may not sell it to anyone else or use it promotionally. They actually can repossess the vehicle
I only know this man exists because of my interest in the fragrance community before my interest in fashion. He made a particularly infamous fragrance.
I just can’t understand how he lost the case? It was his car!?!? That he purchased?!? Then to owe 350,000 for damages? Like what damages? It was a fashion show and a picture. I’m just so confused🙄
I could explain for you: To sum it up, it has to do with copy right law and reputation. Luxury brands tend to take their reputation seriously, and will invest in all resources to protect their image. So, in regards to Philipp Plein's Instagram, you have to understand there are two separate entities: there's Philipp the person (founder), and there's Philip Plein (the brand). Both coexist together and there's a bit of a gray area, but just know, his Instagram is primarily to promote his brand PP (I'll be referring to it as PP from henceforth). Basically, while Philip (the person) may own his Ferrari, PP (the brand) doesn't have the rights or permission to use its image for anything that would make him money; this includes music videos, ad campaigns, etc. It's like if McDonald's bought a Burger King meal/burger (which anyone can do), and put a commercial of it next to a pile of cow turd. Sure, you can argue McDonald's can do whatever they want because they legally did purchase said burger. That's true. However, since it was clearly an attack on Burger King's reputation, and McDonald's didn't have permission to use their image/logo, Burger King can sue them for liability/damages. Returning back to PP's case, it's clear he was trying to promote his brand and associate the status of Ferrari with his lifestyle brand. To Ferrari, however, it was him putting a pile of garbage next to their product. Had Philipp posted his Ferrari on a *personal* account, there would be no issues. But since he was promoting his brand ans Ferrari's image was used in the campaign, without their knowledge or permission, it opened up to a law suit. Several other brands do this as well: Louis Vuitton is notorious for suing rap artists for using Louis Vuitton bags in their music videos. They always claim that the bags are fake and it they appear to be of poor quality, it would hurt their brand. Same with Nike. Nike is notorious for investing so much money in hiring attorneys to sue on their behalf 😅 Hope this helps!
Heyo, just wanted to point out that Falcon view is not yet completed. The house you show in the video is actually a smaller house on the property that he lives in while Falconview is being finished above on the hill
Of course PP!! I knew it! Edit: Okay, so while I really don’t like his work and clothes, I did grow to like him more after this video. I respect his come up, even if his background was good enough.
Binge watching these videos all the way from South Africa as sew, thank you for the inspiring and detailed content!! Pretty Please can you do a video on Karl Lagerfeld. Thank you!
I’m a new subscriber. Loved Alexander and PP and now on to the rest ! so much information and and relevancy for people to incorporate into their direction, goals, dreams etc even if it’s nothing to do with fashion .Question who is the woman with him at the Bel Air mansion? They don’t seem to fit.. just curious
Just walk past his Soho location, and you’ll see all you need to see from PP. The windows are splattered with neon skulls and PP hearts, the interior has reflective walls, and let’s not forget the vintage Ferrari inside the damn thing. It looks like the f*ck-up son of a rich family went on a coke binge and puked all inside the store. It’s an eyesore imo.
PP leather jacket cost 20k euros. Went do Bentley and order full custom leather interiour for 25k euros. And i got 10 cows in Bentley and many sheeps. Soo why is his leather jacket almost same money as my bentley leather interiour?
Philipp Plein invented fashion

I've been convinced Phillip Plein's entire "brand" is just a front for money laundering.
No limits fvckng bangs
Defo!!
Yup 1000% and only a matter of time. No one buys his junk except a few of his flunkies.
Yep, I can confirm this due to his recent NFT endeavors , you can already guess it , holders got screwed over really badly.
I wholeheartedly agree with you he constantly opening stores and subdivisions and being honest the quality sucks and no one wears it but somehow it operation as a successful brand.. he tried to hire all the rappers to wear it and it still didn’t catch
Wish you could do a True Religion one, seems nobody has ever spoken about it in detail like they do other designers.
the Chief Keef story
@@Threaducation we need that mannnn
lmfao

True religion stock crashed went bankrupt and the guy that inspired the logo sued em. That's pretty much it.

To me, his brand has similar vibe to Dolce Gabbana.. people hte him but still supporting those pedo Balenciaga.
His mansion would have to be the ugliest estate I’ve ever had the misfortune of laying my precious eyes on
so cool, thanks for this one

This is actually very interesting... and although I detest his designs, his coming up story is actually quite cool.
Did not expect this at all
I used to hate philipp plein, but i've come to love the brand in an ironic way
I've never in my life have seen anyone wear his ugly clothes and they are expanding everywhere I don't understand it.
don’t idolize him, he is not a fashion designer he stole most of his designs
