    Thanks for the video. In SAFE now idea is clear. Suppose I am designing the foundation by manual spreadsheet I have to export the reaction of load combination to that spreadsheet and then I will design the footing. In this how to arrive the signed values from ETABS itself

    Hi! What difference does it make if I go with the "Signed" option for RS analysis in the case of Staad Pro for this issue?

      STAAD takes signs of support reactions of a case where the 1st mode alone is applied. The one presented here takes signs of support reactions of the static case.

    In support reaction, the sign are lost how about the bending moment and shear values in the column and beam and how it is designed in ETABS. With this lost sign the elements are designed?

      Those are also absolute.. but that will not affect unless u have a tension or compression only member...

      @@ilustraca Thank you But when see the bending moment diagram for RS load cases it is not half triangle up and half triangle down for beams. It is fully on top no moment at bottom. How it is taken into account?

      The "±" sign seen in the load combination list as given in the IS code will take care of it.

      @@Vasanth_Structural_Engineer In RS load case there is always a Max and Min option ... so when ETABS will combine the case with DL or LL it will do +RS and also -RS and the critical one will be used for design.
