I'm getting a lot questions about dosage. It's a difficult question to answer because everyone is different and also everyone's health conditions are different. Usual dosage is 500 mg per capsule but you can increase dosage to get the desired effect.
Berberine can lower blood sugar so you have to be cautious about taking too much. At the end of the day functional medicine is personalized medicine so you should consult with someone who understands your particular health needs.

I wish it were that easy. I can't afford a functional medicine doctor so I'm left figuring it out on my own. I really wish my insurance covered them!

Thank you for the great info. Could this be given to children? After a tick bite my daughter did the long round of antibiotics to avoid lyme. She was 4. Now she is 6 and I swear after all those antibiotics all she wants now is sugar. Maybe this could help her.

@@hockeymomavalon2499 Difficult question without knowing the exact history. Antibiotics does damage to the GI tract so a GI restoration would be in order. Also, look into reactive hypoglycemia for the constant sugar cravings. Watch some of my other videos on hypoglycemia. Best, Dr. Jin

Have you ever checked if you are sensitive or allergic to gluten? It is the disease with more symptoms in the history of medicine! Bet about that! I used to have many different symptoms including issues with my digestive system. Nausea was one. That went on for too many years and not one dr ever suggest to check that possibility. It’s a nightmare in reality and a real risk. Too risky to ignore. I suggest that if you could, check that possibility because it could harm any organ or system in the body, from your hair and teeth to your organs, to your immunological system etc..... it is insidious and a Russian roulette.

Been taking this for a little over 11 months now.
Berberine is good for so many things, that I'm beginning to think it's a sort of panacea. I took it initially for insulin resistance. But it ended up lowering my blood pressure and it stopped the vertigo I was feeling in the morning when I got out of bed. I also lost 10lbs in a month without trying. I think I will continue to take Berberine just for good measure, even after my insulin resistance is resolved.

There’s lots of info on dosages on channels like this. High Intensity Health is one who also looks at studies on various supplements. I take 500 mg twice per day. I am 71 yr old female, had a heart attack last year and had insulin resistance, and a damaged gi tract that caused me to have daily diarrhea for years. I went onto a keto diet, took out all sugars, wheat and consumed fewer than 40 carbs per day. After 1 month, my blood work was ALL normal or lower! And…my guts are now functioning properly. This stuff is really a miracle for me. Hope that helps.

After bloodwork, my doctor decided to put me on Metformin for prediabetes. After one pill I immediately broke out in painful hives/welts for the next three days.
She then recommended going on this supplement twice a day, one with breakfast and one with dinner.
And so far I haven’t experienced any bad side effects, and my blood sugar levels have gone down along with a nutrition plan and 15-20 min of exercise 3-4 times a week.
    Thankful for this product!

When you kill such things you will have die off which will make you not feel good . That is how you tell it is working. Start slow with small amount and build up. Berberine is very powerful. Look up Herx Heimer reaction . Clean foods , lots of organic veggies and grass fed meat is best. Detox baths also help with die off.

Check if the sources where you get your information from is sponsored by big pharma companies since they hate natural alternatives being trusted. Berberine is destroying the metformin billion dollar pharma drug. Same with red yeast rice. Big pharma pushed millions of dollars in the past to make it look bad since people are using it instead of the billion dollar profit statin drugs.

Hello Dr Jin, your video caught my attention but now I'm very confused. I am overweight, 105Kg and I started to do intermittent fasting some days ago. I decided to help it with Berberine (Solarey 500mg), so this afternoon I took my first Berberine pill. I went for a nap and I woke up with my ears ringing and it doesn't go away... As far as I know, I'm not diabetic although I eat a lot o sweets. Could it be that by taking the Berberine and messing up with the sugar in the blood that this ringing started or is this a ridiculous idea? Thank you so much in advance

I put your podcast to the test. Berberine 1/2 hr. before and right after high carb meal
2 white bread sandwiches (one chicken the other banana)
Topped these off with 1 cup of oatmeal another banana with coconut milk.
1/2 hour later glucose 73. 2 hours later glucose at 88 . Now if it would just cure my SIBO/IBS.

Holistic approach to curing any ailment:
      Buy organic
Diy your household products (it's really fun and cheaper too!), do regular water fasts every month for two to four days, eat keto or low carb, lots of leafy greens coconut oil and EVOO)
Reduce stress and cure any trauma from the past with mindfulness and the rewind method (find on Google play/apple store - it's called "PTSD STOPS HERE!" with a red stop sign)
      CoQ10 supplementation
As many ancestral supplements as you can afford (liver and kidney are best)
Be nice to yourself and others
      Magic mushrooms
      Lots of walking
Don't lift weights, puts unnecessary stress on body, rather do yoga for muscle strength, or higher protein keto diet, still low carb
      Cut out toxic people
More to come as I learn more!
See comment below for diet updates!

@@c.k.7361 OOOOF! I forgot the most important bit: get your genes tested. Idividualize diets are better. Look up "Toolbox Genomics" and get their test. They have a few options, two of which are with epigenetics and without. It's pricey but worth it. I got with epigenetics to know where I'm at right now. But just the basic test should be enough. They even give you workout plans for: weight training, injury prevention, warm up and cool down exercises, and cardio. It provides anti-aging, eye, gut, and heart health. It provides so much! Look up the app on the app store and try the demo to see what they offer.
