Nope. I remember playing Mass Effect 1 for the first time and going: "Great. We meet all sorts of cool asaris. Consorts and Commandos who are a mix of all sorts of aliens... And we get the most innocent, most boring Asari out there who who complains that she's a pureblood (and fails to mention she's 1/4th Krogan until the last game). Oh no. What a nightmare." Here's a short list of people I would prefer replaced Liara: Aria, Samara, Morinth, Benezia, Liara's dad, the green one you save from the giant plant, the one who fell in love with a krogan poet, the councilor lady etc.

I did this by accident once and it honestly felt kinda like I kidnapped her between how disorientated she is and the fact that I had zero time for her to get to know that Shepard It was very weird that that she treated that Shepard as a friend in 2, like the time period between the final of the first game and the introduction of the second must have been amazing for her to be happy to see him
SPOILERS FOR LAIR OF THE SHADOW BROKER I've never seen this scene myself so I never considered that, but thinking about it I'd rationalize it as relief that her huge gamble of handing his body to Cerberus paid off. I mean, getting tangled up in recovering Shep's body is the sole reason she landed in the mess she's dealing with in ME2, I wouldn't be surprised she's happy to, at the very least, know it all wasn't for nothing.
Just incase Shepard with any 2 team mates that does the Therum mission last after Virmire saves Liara late, not only has different dialogues, romance between her with either gender Commander Shepard becomes impossible due to the hectic pacing of subsequent events preventing meaningful interactions with each other.
Man, I love these games. They put in extra bits of dialogue for almost every conceivable thing you could do or way you could approach things. Also on a side note, TH-cam thinks this is ME2... so close, TH-cam, you almost did your job.

The prologue and opening chapter are linear and railroady to the point of absolute frustration. By pure chance I did this mission first the first time I played, so therefore on all subsequent playthroughs I do this mission first so that I have the full team as quickly as possible (it’s the smart thing to do). This is pretty funny though.

Really highlights how inconsistent Liara's character really is. In Mass Effect 1 she seems demonstrate a certain cute awkward clumsiness that makes her really likable. Unfortunately into Mass Effect 2 she sort of develops this down attitude like she's depressed which only gets worse in Mass Effect 3. It really turns me off
From my point of view they went through a lot of crazy shit, I think it would change anyone. Liara starts out as an archaeologist, recovers Shepard from being taken by the shadow broker, has to be paranoid at all times on illium cause assassins and all that. Then by the third game, the whole galaxy is about to be wiped out and idk about you but it would stress me the hell out too LOL
@@prickly10000 I see that too! The game has always been a big blended family in my eyes, they all grew as characters in their own way. From what I understand both characters were “young” and starting their lives not expecting to save the universe. I see it played off as story building.

Really highlights how inconsistent Liara's character really is. In Mass Effect 1 she seems demonstrate a certain cute awkward clumsiness that makes her really likable. Unfortunately into Mass Effect 2 she sort of develops this down attitude like she's depressed which only gets worse in Mass Effect 3. It really turns me off
From my point of view they went through a lot of crazy shit, I think it would change anyone. Liara starts out as an archaeologist, recovers Shepard from being taken by the shadow broker, has to be paranoid at all times on illium cause assassins and all that. Then by the third game, the whole galaxy is about to be wiped out and idk about you but it would stress me the hell out too LOL

@@prickly10000 I see that too! The game has always been a big blended family in my eyes, they all grew as characters in their own way. From what I understand both characters were “young” and starting their lives not expecting to save the universe. I see it played off as story building.

Yea Virmire pops after you do 2 planets iirc since i usually try to do Feros last since i hate that planet so much

@@valenesco45 mostly the side quests there annoyed me on my first playthrough and i have never forgiven it since.
@@aybarra912 my fav part was finding the mad krogan, he kept beating my ass in the first playthrough lmao but once I figured how to kill him I felt like a king. And then the grey atmosphere there and the mysterious rooms were also a reason why I loved it.
