Thanks Wildkard. Credit to the Irish but so relieved Springboks won.

As an ex tighthead prop I have to agree regarding Porter. Propping is an art for sure!
porter is good and boy he would be a pain to scrum against
Bokkes pushed us off the ball inside their 5 too easily! To many 22 entries and nothing to show for it. Should've gone wide more! Well done Bokkes 👏🏾 🇿🇦
If we were going to take a test game that was the day to do it. Not confident about next week in Durban.
@@MarcelAspenite the tight contest was brutal both teams defended well in that area
Exactly right! It's like teams have a point to prove against the Boks and always try out muscle them at their own game. It's not percentage rugby. Ireland should have definitely spread the ball wide more.
Don't write your lads off. This game could have gone either way in the end. A thoroughly entertaining game. Game in Durban isn't at altitude and the Irish should perform better. Good luck from a Saffer.
The Lowe saving the touch thing and I'm an Irish fan here. Whats annoying is not if it was right or wrong call its the Lines man was not 10ft to the left of Lowe staring at him in the perfect position to see everything and couldn't make the call without the TMO......wtf. It was just another of many times in the game the ref team failed to be able to do there basic job. I don't think either team should be happy with the refs. There was some really harsh calls of plenty's given from both sides. The forward pass in the first half from the Boks was bad and the again the ref and lines man within 10ft fail to call it the mind boggles, you could have been in the worse seat in the stadium behind a piler with cataracts in both eyes and you would have seen it.
I think the result was fair for what the ref aloud both teams to play. Congrats to the Boks. Ireland a penalty try at this level is just not on, need to do better.
i think with forward passes the tv cameras are deceiving. there are a lot of passes looks forward but its actually not

Good win Bokke from New Zealand, good to see you winning test's between world cups. Wildcard every losehead prop tries to keep the scrum up on their ball, and every tighthead is trying to bend the loosehead down to put the hooker under pressure. Front rowers know all the tricks mate

Great analysis in the first 8 mins. The English refusal to hold weight in early scrums of the game with New Zealand were comically evident. Definitely something refs need to get wise to.
Agree but the ref for the AB/England game might have been slightly out of his comfort zone. I’m not sure if he was up for an International game at this level.
@@amberstevens1295 Agree, there were some odd inconsistencies in things he and the TMO would action on.

Porter was not illegal, people been doing that forever,
Definitely the black arts but not illegal
Pulling the man down to the ground is illegal. Pulling him laterally is fine. Big distinction
well he got away with it so good for him
The Irish front row didn't allow us to get the hit. Surprised we allowed this to happen and couldn't find a solution.
@@DD-RSA much better in the 2nd half porter was on the field when boks got the scrum try
I suspect Pollard had Brandy and braai on his mind. If only his kicking could be more like Fafs hair.😂
@@douwsteyn423 🤣🤣🤣 3 year hang over from rwc
@@Wildkard 😁😁🤣
Honestly it was such a sloppy and ugly game from the Bokke, but a win is a win😂😂
I agree with you on Porter as well. I was sitting watching the game, and calling out to my family watching with me that the Irish are pulling the bokke towards them in the scrum and sometimes even actively taking steps back if you look closely in order to pull the Boks forward before the ball gets put in, with the Irish nr 9 Specifically not putting the ball in and waiting for the Irish Scrum to pull the Bok Scrum back in order to get the penalty.
Casey looked quite worrying. Seems like he just got some whiplash and a bit of a bump to the head when he fell. Hope it's just a bit of getting dazed after the tackle and nothing actually serious.
I think the Bokke are maybe starting the experimentation phase again, hence why they did very few kicks and did a lot more running ball. It's back to the buildup and innovation stage for the bokke, so, they're gonna be doing a lot of experimentation for the next 4 years in preparation for the 2027 World Cup.
It was even uglier last week, I thought the Bokke were greatly improved for much of this game. Good to see them put the Irish in their place!
the TMO was number 16 for the bokks
Farrell in the press conference said Casey has a concussion and was still on the trolley when they came in after the game but was up after but didn't sound great and Dan Sheehan is probably out.

Watching the Arg vs France now, hoping for a Southern Hemisphere white wash, congrats to Aussies and a brilliant All Blacks game as well.
theres 3 test matches
Eng bs NZ
Aus vs Wal
SA vs Ire
Arg vs FRa
Arg is struggling a bit.
So, at home the AB's scrape past England - just.
So at home the Boks bear Ireland - some very iffy decisions and had the luck of the bounce
So at home the Aussies batter the Welsh - yeah that did happen.
So at home the Pumas got tonked by a young French side.
I suppose you take your wins, but that's not quite the domination that was supposed to happen was it?
@@ronhall9394But the way we look at it is that NZ, SA and Aus haven’t played since the World Cup so are arguably at their most vulnerable. I know SA played last week, but that was a completely different team

@@chrismia2402 who know english referee
Makes sense why SA were struggling in the scrums, sneaky spot let's hope we find a work around
It is a really old tactic. It kind of phased out because refs used to be hard on that. I am more concerned with our early engagements.
@@stu1944 we will see how they fix this next round. Vinny koch did better in the 2nd half
So before the game, the coaches have a chat to the referee and tells them what to look out for. And the ref then checks mainly for that. So if you can come up with something borderline legal and/or very hard to spot first time round, you can potentially get away with some shenanigans.
Luckily for us, Malherbe is good enough not to let it cost us too much and I'm sure this will be addressed by next week.
But brilliant by the Irish, they tried something and pulled it off.
nz did that to us in the 2019 rwc and it's actually a pretty simple concept catch your opponent off balance then push and you'll win
Thanks wildcard you’re the best bro 😎😎

@@justinnell1957 cheers thanks for watching
You lot are a joke! the man did very well in scrum get over it bunch of children.
Great scrum analysis. Always enjoy your commentary. It’s the result the bokke wanted, but there were some crucial issues that need improvement: dropped balls, missed kicks (both poles and line) and soft tries. Also need to find a solution to some Irish “cleverness”: players lying offsite (set a pod and run the play over the man), pop passes (have a two man tackle team with one to tackle and one to intercept the pass), closing down the space at scrum time (be the first to close the gap and squeeze them for space). For Irish non engagement in scrum, just delay the engagement or SA hooker can bind on Irish prop along with tight head and both pull him in to engage. Then go back to traditional bind.
@@Hard_Thinker interesting the hook is allowed to bind on to the opposition? I feel thats gona weaken his own bind and can get split apart from his props
TMO man of the match

@@Wildkard hey Wildkard you're the man👏👏
The Saffas might appreciate you saying it was close. According to many comments I've seen on other forums. They smashed Ireland.
@@barryryan14 just my opinion😂
The Cheslin Kolbe try should've been chalked off really for a very technical reason. As he was trying to keep the ball in on from a penalty, he should've jumped from outside the field and landed in the field of play. The ball crossed the plane of touch when he caught it. Also, the ball scraped his leg when his foot was on the ground in touch.
On the other hand, Connor Muarray's try should also have been chalked off, because Finlay Bealham took four extra rolls after being tackled, so I guess it evens out.
@@YOYOTh1s if u start outside the field u must land inside, so u cant just jump up 10m out and hit the ball back in. If u start inside the field then u need to release the ball before u touch the ground.
@@Wildkard thanks for that clear explanation!

The high ball pocket thing the boks started that last year , where kick and have one player contest the ball and have players waiting for opportunities or defend the chanal
@@raymondmather3442 👍👍thanks for letting me know
Ireland did good ,like Boks new play but there is to much cracks in the defense. Rassie and Brown need to decide what stile they want to play .They cannot do both .Boks DNA is physical contact not this All black stile.
@@frik422 i thought boks were physical, the team has to change or it becomes preductable
SA are the main team to do that scrum time you people are hilarious!
Didn do it this game
@@Wildkard they got pinged for not holding there weight at two scrums leading to a penalty on the second. Surely you watched the game
That 2007 jersey 😍
I dont understand why you think Porter is illegal? To me what he is doing is very clever as as you said it makes Malherbe lose his balance. These are subtelties at scrum time. For example the Springbok penalty try, which was an outlier in terms of the rest of the game, was as a result of a very subtle early shove by the springboks. They achived this by initially binding at a higher position before dropping as a unit as the ball was about to come in and stepping forward. This gave the Irish front row no chance to recover.
@@kh7431 i guess if u get away with it sure good for porter
Great advert for rugby! Boks made many mistakes, but in the end, Bomb squad was huge, PSDT gave Ireland PTSD...Arendse and Kolbe...hats off! ❤
Bomb squad came on and Ireland introduced two forwards, then Ireland immediately get a scrum penalty for Ireland also Ireland scored 2 tries and had 2 tries disallowed , so much for the bomb squad 😂😂😂
bomb squad definetely won the game with the scrum try
@@Wildkard they did but that was momentum coming from a huge mistake. Apart from that scrums were 100% for both teams and Ireland actually scored 4 tries when the bomb squad came on two were disallowed and I believe these were dubious calls on another day these could very well have gone to Ireland .
You talk like a Ausie but you have the heart ❤ of a South African . Hope you visit some day .

Man of the match was Ben Whitehouse. He saw a boot touch the ball but not the neck roll. Disallowed Lowe try.
😮
Porter is the new king Carlos or Richie. Rules will have to be made to stop his technique.
Smart move though.
good point
to fix the scrums we need to let the scrum half put the ball in on engage. that would make it a fair contest.
@@user-sz7dr6lz6j potentially a solution
I have to give credit to the Irish team, they are really good at skirting the boundaries of what is legal in the scrum and especially at the breakdown. Reminds me of a bunch of Richie McCaws.
They got penalised multiple times for infringements at the ruck, and even lost a try because of it, but they were just so good at slowing down the Springboks ball.
