@@tmac731 Well the original material was 24 episodes in one season, this is only 8 episodes for the season. Condensing THAT much content is NOT easy and they did a wonderful job at it. You have to do changes, there's no getting around it.
@@adandyguyinspace5783 I added up the Elsie’s from live action and cartoon. They literally could’ve done 2 cartoon episodes and mix them for 1 live action without pulling book 2 stories. The changes of the 41 division and king bumi was nice. Episodes 6 was the best episode and I wish they did the show like that
If you notice there are actually time jumps in this series that is why it seems Katara learnt her waterbending fast. When iroh and zuko went to that bar to ask about aang's whereabouts, people mentioned seeing them in different places. So it is obvious that they had different adventures while traveling just like in the OG show. Katara always practiced a lot as well so they had to incorporate the water bending scroll early in order to get aang to study it in season 2
"we blew the entire budget on exceptional CGI for wan shi tong, haa bai and the fox." "how much do we have left for the bending" " we can send someone to the crafts store to buy sheets of colored paper?"
So Wan Shi Tong being here likely means no Library. No library means no Appa getting taken. We are likely going to skip that entire arc which really ends up being a turning point for Zuko
We don't know that for certain yet. They made a really good CGI model for him, which would have undoubtedly cost a lot of money. I feel like it would be a waste if this was a one off appearance for him. One of the complaints of the original ATLA series is that they didn't do much at all with the spirits. Perhaps they will be incorporating them a bit more in the live action or giving them a bit more of a role/screen time. We will have to see.
not necessarily, Wan shi tong is still a spirit and therefore should still be able to enter and exit forms, similar to how he took his library into the spirit world as we found in Korra. My guess is Wan shi tong was just strolling while his library is just in the desert

Yeah, Koh is like a mix between himself in the OG series and that spider guardian from the spirit realm in LOK. The spider was the one that took people in webs to drop them in the Fog... now it's the Fog that is a hunting ground so Koh can web future victims to feed upon. It's an inventive way of combining both those story elements. AND all this is to replace the fact that Katara and Sohka are sick and need frozen frogs lol. Instead, we get them captured by Koh, but in the real world, we get essentially the same kind of condition needed to start the blue spirit rescue arc. Both Katara and Sohka are "out of it" with Momo and Appa staying with them to check on them while Aang goes to help them. Again, a nice and inventive way of combining those story elements. We get to skip over the alchemists lady and Miyuki lol which I don't mind.
To address the question of why they went back to attack the water tribe village, I saw this theory the other day that it was because of Hama. She had escaped and was from the Southern Water Tribe so that's why they were so adamant about finding the last water bender. Because they were looking for her, who could BLOOD BEND. So that's why they were quick to hit everything at the water tribe. Hama thought she was the only one at the time, she wouldn't have known about Katara.
The theory is that the water bender they were looking for was Hana who escaped from the fire nation prison. They expected her to return to her home tribe in the south pole. Unknown to them she stayed in the fire nation. The reason they no longer take prisoners is because of her blood, bending technique and word of her being able to do this would have spread throughout the Fire nation Navy.
It's true for the anime version but since Katara's mom tried to "attack" thé soldier it somewhat excuse him from killng her and he is no longer a cold blooded b*star that don't Care about a Mother live ( that's why hé propose to give his mother in OG)

Probably the worst episode in terms of mixing storylines. I guess the writers decided to throw in everything spirit related but missed the point of any of them individually. Wan Shi Tong is her for no reason, Hei Bai is completely sidelined, and Koh is kind of a generic monster here abducting people and they took away having to show emotions around it. Ozai gave Zuko credit that is something that doesn’t happen until season 3 in the animated series and that is because Ozai believes that he killed the avatar. Here he knows for sure that Zuko found the avatar and down plays Azula which never happened in the show it’s a big twist. Wonder how this will affect later scenes.
this episode do not mean we eill not see one shi tong in the library again
See... I'm probably in the minority when I say I don't like how they're mixing so many elements together. Bc some of it just doesn't make sense. I would've rather them do a live action telling of Kyoshi's story. At least then I wouldn't be comparing it to the already AMAZING source material
the owl was less scary in this live action
The part with Gyatso feels a bit like the episode in Korra when she meets Iroh in the spirit realm. Even down to drinking tea.
Ayyye!!!
Where to I get this movie😢guys
Episode 5 directed by James wan
I really hope seeing Wan Shi Tong here doesn’t mean that we don’t get our “You Muzzled Appa!?!” Scene
Lets go😮
8:18 I felt something ngl
"Harry"..... took me df out gz 😂😂😂😂
how th did roshi remember hei bai's name 😭
14:30
About damn time 😊
Some shows have a great episode 6 and this is definitely one of them! Can’t wait till Friday
They made zukos dad a better dad in this ep than the whole anime version 😂
16:19 Harry?
I just died 😂
nice
Idk why but I’m realizing on my second rewatch how cringe some of the dialogue is in this live action. I’m glad you all can enjoy it despite that.
This episode was OK. They combined stuff that didn't need to be combined.
They also showed too much for certain characters
15:56 facts
I was fine with the previous episodes, this one however...only good thing was mentioning the mother of faces (from the comics) everything else......why was Wan Shi Tong here (the giant owl)
They needed someone to tell the audience that "the spirit world is dangerous" cause they don't know how to Not resort to blunt exposition. -_-
@@PhyreSpore Literally anyone else could have done that.....Roku since he did it in the siege of the north pole warning aang about KO, could have been Kyoshi or even avatar Kuruk, could have been the ape looking spirit that told aang to go away and was meditating on the rock
@@PhyreSporeneeding someone is fine, fan service into the first season when he's really not needed is another
@@PhyreSpore i do agree with you though, even with the exposition
Them completely getting rid of Ko the face stealing being dangerous because you can't show emotions to him completely kills the fear around him and he just became a big angry monster that isn't interesting in the slightest
And all of it was just to separate Aang for next episode.
guys what if the reason fire bending poeple kill all the south pole water bending was because they though aang was dead so the next avatar will be a water bending and they couldnt attack the north pole because they have high defence and south pole was weak in defence
The great divide got skipped over lol and I don’t get my fucking pirates!!!!
You get very little of the great divide in two instances. In the Omashu episode, the way Katara and Sohka fight because one believes in the mechanist and the other believes Jet... you get a taste there lol the other very small taste is when that dude asks about water benders following the avatar, who can hear one talk about the canyon guide having dealt with the avatar when he dealt with the canyon spider thingies. But yeah, that's all we get about the great divide... but at least its a little 🤷♂
So did the fortune teller, master Jeong Jeong, Haru
@@tmac731 Fortune teller I don't mind personally lol But master Jeong Jeong and Haru are still possible for future seasons. I wouldn't be surprised
@@claudegrenier3180 I guess they can do Haru since it’s about earth bending in book 2 but this is why I hated how they brought book 2 stuff for season 1. Master Jeong was important because it was to show Aang discipline
SIMBA 14:48
12:50 the jumpscare💀💀
Ay seriously tho, I can’t believe you don’t remember that one episode ! You know… the one… with that thing… Fake fans smh…
Koh was very good done. (Terrifying)
You guys are not right because the first time they met the owl, they allready met Toph and was there with her.
You guys should pay more attention to the dialogues instead of making so manny jokes and laughing during the dialogues.
Because of that, you missed the moment when Aang don't understood, that he's not gonna see Gyatso again and Gyatso knew that
Its a reaction chanel, it happens, thats okay, they dont need to catch everything on the first watch. Maybe they get that later on the series, by context, or the comments🤧
Katara's mom death was so sad❤❤❤❤
Heavily disappointed in how this Episode screwed with the concepts of Hei Bai in the original..... This is symbolically one of the most important Avatar Episodes, and they diluted & screwed with everything meaningful about it. We don't get any resolution to Hei Bai or Aang balancing out & restoring nature as an aspect of his Avatar duty.
live action just makes no sense.. had a literal moving talking script in the form of the show with time lines... sequences... and then... live action-"lets just mash 10 episodes together, for budget reasons"...
Some people are upset at June being into Iroh and not the way around, but let me be the first to say that Iroh pretending he's paralyzed to "cop a feel", (because that's what he did in the cartoon... he literally pretended so that she could be touching him...), was goofy and we laughed in the cartoon but did NOT age well or would translate well to the live action. That and... Some of us do like older guys, don't judge us! She said what I was thinking out loud haha
18:06 in the avatar state he easily could
So I'm guessing there will be no library episode in season 2😆
Why?
@martfp88 the owl spirit made an appearance. Kinda makes the library less meaningful
There has to be....they have to still find out about the eclipse
@@phoenixking9457 seeing how many changes they are doing, they could find out about the eclipse in other ways😆
@@phoenixking9457 SPOILER They already have the device that shows the position of Sozin's Comet in possession of the Fire Nation (I think it's the next episode), so yeah, the Library episode seems useless...and it was one of my favorites episodes from the animated series.
12:19 nah that wasn’t in the OG 🤣
Koh is terrifying bro💀 looks exactly like the OG
