Because you spam this comment so badly like you wanna prove a point... No, stop blaming their marketing skills because nobody cares abt transformers. People don't wanna see another transformers movie anymore especially when it is a slop like it regularly does. Like the old transformers movie before the Bayformers, maybe just realize that nobody wanted to see it......
Optimus tried to stop Megatron from killing Sentinel not because he didn't deserve it, but because he didn't want him to kill someone who was no longer a threat
Because he knew that him will get lost himself in the rage and violence, which he did, also and just for everyone to know, in most of the franchise continuities, the war between Autobots and Decepticons is always Megatron's fault, his rage and ambition turn into pure madness, which becomes even more critical when Unicron turns him into Galvatron, if this new version of the character goes into that route, then i think is safe to say that there's no salvation for the transformer once know as D-16, from miner slave to revolutionary dictator warrior to just slave (for Unicron) again and then into madbot (madman) after Unicron is destroyer by Optimus successor, Rodimus Prime.
@Bionickpunk there's a difference, though. Sentinel needed to go through trial. Be sentenced to servitude as punishment for what he did. Then, when he's no longer needed, execution. Just simply killing him is quick and gives him an easy way out. At that point, Megatron was only trying to kill him because he was mad. Then, after that, he tried to kill Bee and Elita. Lupa even pointed out how he was just lashing out at Optimus in the final fight, not even thinking about what he's doing. If Optimus was actually wrong, Megatron wouldn't have been a thing. He would've stopped after he accidentally shot Optimus. Help him up and realized what he was doing was going overboard.
@Bionickpunk Sentinel did need to die, I agree. But, his fate should have been decided by their justice system, be it life imprisonment with no possibility of parole or the death sentence.
@Bionickpunk If you really think Orion was going to let Sentinel walk away, you're crazy. All of iacon knew he was a traitor. If Orion didn't take him to trial, the mob would have likely killed Sentinel himself. It was just D being selfish as always. D did this to himself, not orion. All the other bots were under the same system and suffered the same way. Yet only D chose to go this far. Orion tried to save his best friend. It's so sad how so many people side with Megatron even after he is prepared to be a full villain and blame Orion. Megatron was and is in the wrong. It was already over. He was going to carry out an unnecessary execution so he could have revenge. Then, immediately become another sentinel. Thank Primus Optimus Prime showed up to stop him.
@@Retrovorious The Bay films had him rip Sentinel’s face off and split Megatron’s in two. Off all the criticisms I’ve seen the Bay movies get, complaining that Optimus was a pacifist is just unfounded.
@@atharvawaikar9730 I never said that he was a pacifist in Bay films. I’m saying the reactors are confused about how Optimus prime is trying to prevent Megatron from killing Sentinel in this film because how willing he was to kill in bay films.
@@atharvawaikar9730 you should also take into account the different timeline those wars were... This movie is not Year 1, it's literally day 1 of the war, where in the Bayverse, it's been countless hundreds of years, where Optimus has already lost a lot, and again he is leading a war against enemies with heavy hand, and the only way to deal with a heavy hand, is with a heavier hand.
Ngl, I don’t think Orion cares if Sentinel lived. I feel like it’s more so him trying to pull D out of a bigger fit of rage like he saw continuously escalate throughout the movie.
This! Orion doesn’t care about Sentinel (he helped drive a train at him) but he cares about D and knew where things were going Also it was over. Sentinel lost and it was up to the people to decide what to do with him. Not D

@@kengvue1699 Sentinel deserves consequences for all he's done and caused. no one's saying otherwise; D-16's feelings of anger are even understandable. but a public and graphic execution doesn't actually change anything at this point. it would just be murder for D's own personal vengeance. which would leave him hollow at best, and out of control at worst all the red flags were there from even before he got his transformation cog. it just gets more apparent once he gains the ability to do something about it

can they just be happy in this continuity? In EVERY verse they suffer. Even in TFP in the OG version of "Stronger, Faster" Ratchet was gonna go for a low blow of mentioning Elita's death along with Cliffjumper and Prime was going to deck him in the face for it. I do wish they had kept the line of "where's Elita now?" but they shouldn't have Optimus hit his subordinate. I think him STARTING to, like raising his fist, then stopping then confining Ratchet to base would've been perfect. Too many people complain that TFP Optimus doesn't emote (his optics do the talking for him), so this would've been a good compromise; show people that he DOES feel but he just keeps his emotions under wraps. He HAS to. He can't let himself get compromised because then that's how mistakes are made. When you make it personal.
The advertisements did this movie so much injustice. This movie was great. It let sad moments be sad, funny moments be funny, and it was just a well rounded origin to the stories we all know.

Orion wasnt trying to save Sentinel, he wanted to save D-16 from becoming what he was destined to be, like Optimus said in one of the bay films, Megatron will never stop at one, right after killing Sentinel his next order was basically "now everyone who followed him".
@@AgntFL then anyone that got in his way, so if you for whatever reason still liked sentinel, he wanted you dead, and if you thought that was a bit too far, youre on the list too.
Additionally, Megatron was not in the right mindset as he prepared to kill Sentinel. Upon discovering the truth about Sentinel and realizing that his entire life had been a lie-along with receiving a cog for the first time-he began to lose control, succumbing to his anger, hatred, and desire for revenge against Sentinel for everything he had done to him. While it is true that Sentinel is a villain who deserves punishment for his crimes, Megatron wasn't seeking justice for anyone else; he was solely focused on his desire for retribution.
4:20 This was the funniest joke in the movie. I laughed so hard I had side stitches. 55:21 The issue isn't killing Sentinel. Orion probably believes that Sentinel deserves to die. Orion and D wanted to bring social change to Cybertron, and they succeeded. But by killing Sentinel after the truth was out, it went from social change to a tyrannical seize for power. Killing Sentinel wasn't the issue, it was publicly executing him.
Exactly, Megatron using his power to kill one leader to become the next is exactly what sentinel did and is nothing but moving from one dictator to the next. Sentinel didn't deserve to live, but Megatron shouldn't have killed him in a show of power.
@@LateBlossomingyou'll see Megatron also doesn't stop at killing Sentinel, he says he'll make everyone who stood with Sentinel pay and starts tearing apart the crowd. The idea of the deceptions name isn't the fact that they want to "decieve everyone". The group calls themselves that as a reminder of what was done to them and all of Cybertron. That's what makes Megatron so tragic. He's literally defined himself by his trauma and loss of hope, from the Megatronus Prime symbol, his name, the use of Megatronus' own T-Cog
It’s fucked how we just got the best transformers movie of our generation and it underperformed because Hollywood doesn’t know how to market fun. This was up there with the original animated movie and it deserved way more credit than it got

Orion was NOT trying to save Sentinel at all. He 100% thinks he deserves to die. He was trying to save D-16. In retrospect, literally took a bullet for D but of course D will see that as a betrayal in itself. Both of them thinks that the other is acting like Sentinel respectively.
1:01:05 you guys do know the autobots and Decepticons didn't actively choose to go to earth considering their main goal was to escape the dying world Cybertron became thanks to the civil war.
51:39 "The jump was unnecessary!" It's an Easter egg. It's the same pose Optimus Prime had when he transformed and turned the tide in the battle of Autobot City in the 1986 Transformers: The Movie.
From my own observations: Sentinel really did want Orion and D to be Ted Talk motivational speakers for the miners, Dark Wing just went behind his back to toss Orion and D to Sublevel 50. And since Sentinel, Airachnid, and Dark Wing were the last ones to have seen the two, Sentinel was able to make up a story without having make up an alibi.
The thing I found most interesting about this was that Optimus and Megatron were once the opposite of who they grew to be. Optimus was the one that use to break protocol and Megatron only knew to follow it. But once seeing the truth for what it was they had grow and change
26:03 Those transformers aren’t necessarily “robots”, but metal trans-organics (according to the lore, at least) Those plants are probably far harder than they look
To be clear Elita is Optimus’ love interest/girlfriend from the og continuity when we’re shown his past as Orion pax, she is not arcee the more well known bike transformer that you see in the transformers prime cartoon. (Both are bikes and arcee is pink as well just like elita in most of her adaptions besides the prime cartoon)
Sentinel didn’t send them to the scrappile, there’s a lot of evidence against that. He told that lie about Orion being dead only after everything else went down.
Elita One (also Elita-One or Elita-1) is a devoted Autobot and powerful warrior, fearless in the face of the enemy, but compassionate to those who need her help. Before she was Elita One, she was the simple manual laborer Ariel, who became a renowned Autobot resistance leader, a female counterpart to Optimus Prime. Elita One leads the Female Autobots in a desperate gamble to keep Cybertron out of the hands of the Decepticons. She is sometimes the wielder of a great special power: the ability to stop time through the creation of a field with a fifty-foot radius around her. Sadly, this ability drains all of her life force and is thus almost assuredly fatal, leaving her to only use it in the most dire of situations. Her chassis is the color of Energon, which is pretty intimidating!
Something to note is that if Optimus were to kill Megs then and there, it would 1.continue the cycle of violence of one tyrant killing another to the eyes of Iacon. and 2. propagate the civil war between the high guard and the miners and Iacon to which a couple of the most important Autobot soldiers don't have their cogs prompting em to lose then and there.
This film did an excellent job at showing how D16s turn is essentially a really prolonged mental breakdown. The shock at ATs revelation clearly messed him up, understandably. His agitation, inability to really process what’s happened were all portrayed so well. Optimus tried to save sentinel to stop D16 from further escalating his downward spiral
There's so much G1 fanservice, you can spot most of the G1 cast in the miners like Wheeljack, Kupp, Prowl, Ironhide, Sideswipe, etc. also, the unnecessary jump pose Optimus does with the blaster is his iconic G1 pose from the Autobot city battle in the 1986 movie, and ofc he gets the energon ax (which funnily enough, he only ever uses in 1 very early G1 episode).
5:00 Energon is practically everything to them. It's their blood, food, drink, fuel, ammunition, ordnance, and plenty more. And to follow up on 08:10, Energon is very volatile in its raw state, so I don't think it's really more of a self-defense mechanism thing as it's just a very dangerous substance to deal with despite its importance to their lives. 27:45 Unicron is around the same size as Primus/Cybertron. Just so since they're both mortal enemies, not unlike Optimus and Megatron. 43:20 That would be Megatron's signature Fusion Cannon. 46:00 That would be Elita-One. She's mostly well-known since the G1 cartoon and comics as Optimus's girlfriend. 51:36 As odd as that was choreographed, that is Optimus's iconic jump from the G1 movie, which you see him do again in the beginning of Bumblebee. 55:30 It's actually tradition that Optimus has to die at least once in every single Transformers media, whether it's the comics, the cartoons, or the movies. 59:24 It's so funny how Optimus wielded an energon axe in just one episode of the G1 cartoon, which was in the series premiere, and somehow it blew up to become an iconic signature weapon that he would wield in so many other versions.
As you can see throughout the film, Orion isn't against killing in defense or desperation, but he was against killing Sentinel in that moment for three reasons: 1. Sentinel was no longer a threat in the moment and could be captured for a later official trial and either imprisonment or execution 2. He did not want D-16 to succumb to darkness and rage 3. It sends the wrong message to Cybertronians
One cool detail is how Orion kneels down to talk to the miners. He speaks to them like a father yet treats them like equals and respecting their autonomy Also how D fell standing above everybody else and Orion became a prime by falling due to the greater good. One shall stand, One shall fall…
The scene where Optimus rips off the tank cannon and then Megatron takes it back is just so ridiculously fluid idk how that scene alone didn't pack every cinema. What a movie, as soon as I saw ye put his up I just had to see your reaction
Brian Tyree Henry really out did himself with his incredible performance and his deep understanding of Megatron since always wanted to play the villains. Every villain of his and her own Story. D-16 is not only a product of Cybertron’s failed system and takes on Sentinel Prime’s oppression though violent means all the social injustices he had experiences forged his transcendence into Megatron and building up to a rivalry with Orion turned Optimus Prime (due to wanting the same goal of a unified Cybertron but have different viewpoints). But their friendship is doomed since they discovered that shocking realization their leader Sentinel Prime has sold out Cybertron to the Quintessons after betraying his fellow Prime brothers and sisters, and ruled his planet through oppression. D-16 has put too much faith in the system he has held on to until his worldview was shattered that boils up to anger and a personal vengeance after being suffered of the social injustices while Orion still kept his optimism by exposing the truth of Sentinel's corruption. This what makes D-16 a much more of a compelling hero-turned-villain and tragic character in Transformers history. And the rift between two brothers. Both D-16 and Orion both wanted a unified Cybertron but each have different ways to bringing it into fruition.
This movie is one huge love letter to the franchise. So the fact that the marketing was such garbage and that it BARELY broke even on its budget is a crime
I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same incompetent marketing team that handled the Dungeons & dragons movie. They made it look cringe as hell when in fact it wasn't, it seems this movie suffered a similar fate and lost some money for it... Shame
It actually made its budget back, but not much more. So fans need to support it with digital and physical discs to show it’s worth investing in a sequel
@@AgntFL I'm ignorant about how the film industry truly works (personally when I see the amount of some "budgets" it looks more like money laundering or corruption than anything but I digress), but I heard that making back just the budget for the film-making part isn't enough for profit at all..
People like these guys are the reason why most media tend to bash you over the head with plot-points and themes in substitute of subtle story-telling because it does not take a rocket scientist to tell you that D16/Megatron was still wrong by the end of the movie lmfao.
Fun fact the scene after Prime gets his axe is a direct reference to the transformers' revange of the fallen forest fight. The fight scene plays out the exact same way.
Elita-1 was introduced as Optimus' love interest back on Cybertron in the 84 cartoon who he left in charge of Autobot forces while he went to look for other sources of energon after the war drained all of Cybertron. Future adaptations have built on this, often leaving the love interest aspect secondary to making her this hardened warrior who had been fighting a guerilla war back home while Optimus had a relatively easier time on Earth.
I am Megatron! Arise...Optimus Prime! That whole scene of D-16 and Orion transforming into the iconic characters we know and love was amazing. I loved all the cybertronians having their iconic looks. So happy to see you guys reacting to this.
Is anyone pissed off with them just outright agreeing with Megatron? Like sure, the anger is totally justifiable but Megatron murdering Sentinel literally proved that he was no better. Hell he even immediately tried to take over and become a dictator the exact same way Sentinel was
In my own headcanon, Autobots means Autonomous Robots as a way of representing each individuals right to choose their own destiny, while Decepticons refers to the fact they were lied to and won't be lied to ever again. It may not be the intent. but it sounds cool.
To correct a few things; The movie took place over 3 days, this movie is in its own storyline seperate to other media, bee is hinted to lose his voice in the future still, the female autobot in the main 4 is Elita-1, often confused for the usual main female autobot Arcee, which is usually Optimus' girlfriend in most storylines, Alpha Trion was confused for Zeta Prime, and I think that was all for that. The movie was said to get a sequel if the movie did well but unfortunately didn't do to well. Hopefully the merchandise and dvd/streaming/renting gets them there
It's so easy to get lost in the immediate emotion but not realizing the ramification of what you're doing. Megatron wasn't looking for "Justice". He sought his own self satisfaction. A selfish rageful vengeance without regard for who got hurt in the process. Like Sentinel, He selfishly decided for everyone else what he wanted.
The only reason the war was taken to earth was because Megatron poisoned the planet with dark energon. The dark energon was killing Cybertron, so Primus had to shut down the core for millions of years until it can repair itself. Then the Autobots fled on the Ark, the Decepticons followed with the Nemesis Ship aka Trypticon. Then both factions fought while trying to get through a portal, thats when the war made its way to Earth. You have to watch Transformers Prime and Generation 1 to get a better understanding. Also, in other continuity’s Megatron got the name from Gladiator days in Kaon when the crowd started cheering the name. Megatron had every right to start the war, but as it continued he lost his way. And before the war, Starscream use to be a scientist/explorer. Shockwave use to be a doctor for the Kaon Gladiator fights and Soundwave use to work with the council. Soundwave fought Megatron and nearly came out on top, Shockwave is dangerous because he’s smart as fuck and willing to take it far in his experiments.
Loved your reactions. Alpha Trion was voiced by the amazing Laurence Fishburn. The female bot that works with Orion/Optimus is Elita-1. She is a powerful female Autobot who is also Prime's girlfriend and amazing commander. No Megatron killing Sentinel makes him just like Sentinel...and you see Megatron completely loses it...he starts destroying innocents and city too. Primus wanted his people as one...not killing. :) Also, Primus was dormant..he only can communicate at his core. Yes...Primus turned of the energon because he knew Sentinel tried stealing the matrix and took it back. And also from preventing the Quintisons from harvesting Cybertron even more quickly.

This! Orion doesn’t care about Sentinel (he helped drive a train at him) but he cares about D and knew where things were going
Also it was over. Sentinel lost and it was up to the people to decide what to do with him. Not D
I saw it more as, lets execute him via a court of law rather than an extrajudicial killing. From Pax's point of view, they needed to be better. But that is just me.
Exactly! People are so slow to realize. He doesn’t care about sentinel. He just didn’t want his best friend to lose himself.
@@kengvue1699 Sentinel deserves consequences for all he's done and caused. no one's saying otherwise; D-16's feelings of anger are even understandable. but a public and graphic execution doesn't actually change anything at this point. it would just be murder for D's own personal vengeance. which would leave him hollow at best, and out of control at worst
all the red flags were there from even before he got his transformation cog. it just gets more apparent once he gains the ability to do something about it
Especially since killing Sentinel did NOT make things better for D. He didn't calm down and if anything it only got WORSE.

I think him STARTING to, like raising his fist, then stopping then confining Ratchet to base would've been perfect. Yeah, he didn't want justice, he just wanted him dead, with his corpse paraded around all of Iacon. He was already at the deep end at the beginning.
Like Bee said 'He's going to kill everyone!'
And since Sentinel, Airachnid, and Dark Wing were the last ones to have seen the two, Sentinel was able to make up a story without having make up an alibi.

51:38 That jump is a reference to the old transformers films.
Something to note is that if Optimus were to kill Megs then and there, it would
1.continue the cycle of violence of one tyrant killing another to the eyes of Iacon.
and
2. propagate the civil war between the high guard and the miners and Iacon to which a couple of the most important Autobot soldiers don't have their cogs prompting em to lose then and there.
9:34 Cybertronian’s are robotic organisms. Which means their brain’s and body’s are just like us but only robotic
56:58 The compression made D-16's voice sounds like Greek saga Kratos.
So we getting a old megatron who sounds like old kratos
There's so much G1 fanservice, you can spot most of the G1 cast in the miners like Wheeljack, Kupp, Prowl, Ironhide, Sideswipe, etc. also, the unnecessary jump pose Optimus does with the blaster is his iconic G1 pose from the Autobot city battle in the 1986 movie, and ofc he gets the energon ax (which funnily enough, he only ever uses in 1 very early G1 episode).
This mood in this vid is perfect!
5:00
Energon is practically everything to them.
27:45
Unicron is around the same size as Primus/Cybertron. Just so since they're both mortal enemies, not unlike Optimus and Megatron.
43:20
That would be Megatron's signature Fusion Cannon.
46:00
That would be Elita-One. She's mostly well-known since the G1 cartoon and comics as Optimus's girlfriend.
51:36
As odd as that was choreographed, that is Optimus's iconic jump from the G1 movie, which you see him do again in the beginning of Bumblebee.
55:30
It's actually tradition that Optimus has to die at least once in every single Transformers media, whether it's the comics, the cartoons, or the movies.
59:24
It's so funny how Optimus wielded an energon axe in just one episode of the G1 cartoon, which was in the series premiere, and somehow it blew up to become an iconic signature weapon that he would wield in so many other versions.
Anyone else felt extremely pissed at Sentinel, when he had the audacity to angrily say, “The Truth. Is. What. I. MAKE IT!”
As you can see throughout the film, Orion isn't against killing in defense or desperation, but he was against killing Sentinel in that moment for three reasons:
1. Sentinel was no longer a threat in the moment and could be captured for a later official trial and either imprisonment or execution
2. He did not want D-16 to succumb to darkness and rage
3. It sends the wrong message to Cybertronians
One cool detail is how Orion kneels down to talk to the miners. He speaks to them like a father yet treats them like equals and respecting their autonomy
Also how D fell standing above everybody else and Orion became a prime by falling due to the greater good.
Both D-16 and Orion both wanted a unified Cybertron but each have different ways to bringing it into fruition.
also he sounds like JC Carson from God of War
"That jump was not necessary" it was a reference to the '86 movie

Fun fact the scene after Prime gets his axe is a direct reference to the transformers' revange of the fallen forest fight. The fight scene plays out the exact same way.
And the axe is a reference to his g1 weapon
Elita-1 was introduced as Optimus' love interest back on Cybertron in the 84 cartoon who he left in charge of Autobot forces while he went to look for other sources of energon after the war drained all of Cybertron. Future adaptations have built on this, often leaving the love interest aspect secondary to making her this hardened warrior who had been fighting a guerilla war back home while Optimus had a relatively easier time on Earth.
Everybody acts like the war was Alpha Trions fault since he gave D-16 a cog. But really, he was just giving them back what was taken from them.

Is anyone pissed off with them just outright agreeing with Megatron? Like sure, the anger is totally justifiable but Megatron murdering Sentinel literally proved that he was no better. Hell he even immediately tried to take over and become a dictator the exact same way Sentinel was
fr, killing Sentinal wasn't enough and he declared he will take down anyone in his way for his version of Cybertron's future
In my own headcanon, Autobots means Autonomous Robots as a way of representing each individuals right to choose their own destiny, while Decepticons refers to the fact they were lied to and won't be lied to ever again. It may not be the intent. but it sounds cool.
I have never clicked a notification from you all any faster. This movie needs all the love and justice!
Megatron's crashout was indeed justified lupa
I’ve been waiting for this!!! Saw you guys commentating about this on Twitter, so I knew it was coming soon🙌🏼
You guys missed the second end credit when Megatron formed the Decepticons.
That scene of "The Fall" is going to stick with me as one of the greatest Transformers moments in my mind. I can already tell.
One of, if not, the best Transformer movie since the original and it contained NO HUMANS!
I'm okay with the occasional humans, but I'm glad we have another fully animated Transformers movie.
