      @PDubs Arcade Loft Amazon sent me a replacement, and I just got it installed and working. I noticed the push/pull on the replacement was smoother so, the first one was probably defective.

    I’ve had 4 of the stock spinners go out on me the last 5 months so I ordered the GRS spinner and will be using your video to walk me through the installation process. Great tutorial video man!

    Remember, you can use the software to adjust the rotations from as low as 360 and up. There are four separate settings so you can dial it in a little bit more to your taste for the spins. Great video though once again p-dubs Thank you!

      @Glen I have mine set at 360, it is still too sensitive, but usable.

    The most important part the spinner adaptor you have to source yourself. Not everybody have a 3D printer.

    • @PDubsArcadeLoft
      @PDubsArcadeLoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mean the mount yes this was clearly covered in the video and could take someone less than 10mins to order online from a 3D printer website.

      I think they should seriously consider including it in the future (or have a link to order directly from GRS if they can make them in small batches).

      Check your local library - many have 3D printers now and can print for a very small fee.

    I have mine installed. Right now my spinner is too sensitive and it's tough to play with accuracy. I'm at 360 CPI. That's the lowest setting, right? can you recommend how to lower sensitivity? thanks!

    Does the calibration tool application work on a Mac? I don’t have a Windowz PeeCee.

  • @spike8002

    Installed mine last night along with the GRS flight stick.
    Has anyone who has installed this spinner been able to tame this beast of a spinner.
    If so can you share what you did to calibrate this spinner to 1980s arcade level. Not sure if anyone but me will be able to use this.
    Unfortunately my old spinner took a nose dive into the garbage after it stopped working.
    I sent a message to Glen to see if there was a way to place a 4th selection in the calibration software at a lower rate.

      This is an update to my original post. My original spinner failed and wanted to try this mod from GRS.
      Flight stick is a definite buy and a huge upgrade for my Tron.
      The spinner is a high quality but even at the lowest setting. I was able to use it. My family could not play.
      I thought about a Tornado spinner.
      In the end I decided to work with Arcade1Up and obtained a replacement spinner. They are stepping up their game with service.
      Since my game was out of warranty I paid about $28.00 for shipping and handling.
      Had to take four steps and used the app. Provided short vid showing my original wasn’t working, pic of my serial number, and my proof of purchase from Walmart.
      Sent me an invoice for 28.00. Paid it and receive new spinner in a week.
      I will find another project to use the GRS spinner on. Sure it would be fine with MAME where you can make adjustments.
      Others can form their own opinions and it may work better for them. If they find a way to add lower settings I will give it another try.
      Take care everyone!

    It's too sensitive. Can this be changed in the calibration program?

  • @IndustryLeech
    @IndustryLeech 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Glad to hear it's more sensitive than the stock A1U, which spun far too slowly. It should feel more arcade authentic with the GRS spinner.

    I was able to skip step 5 (the 3d printed mount) by using a step drill bit to make a hole on the original spinner mount. I then used the step drill bit to drill another hole in a plastic bottle cap to make up the 1/2" of recess in the control panel. Looks pretty good with the clear cap but I'll probably paint it black.

    @pdub- I bought the kit, and did the calibration- it worked fine plugged in to the computer, however when plugged in to tron, push pull works, but the rotation doesn't. Any help would be great!

  • @TMS5100
    @TMS5100 ปีที่แล้ว

    @6:23 STL not STI. Also make sure you do not print it out of PLA. Over time, PLA creeps under compression and the screws will come loose. Use PETG or ABS which do not have that problem.

    • @tommyv.856
      @tommyv.856 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it’s happened to me as well a few times now. A1up though has always been great about supplying replacement parts but I seriously believe all the stock spinners are bad on Tron meaning a definite manufacturing defect. No way should these be failing with the cabinet off or even leaving it on for a extended period of time. I’m now keeping mine unplugged unless playing the machine.
