A quick disclaimer here. This is not a apples to apples comparison. The 462 is running a 32” bar with full comp square ground chain. The 372 is running 30” bar with full comp square ground chain. There is some deviation between the chains as I did NOT grind both chains. However I cut with the 462 for an hour this morning and the chain was cutting pretty well. But I would say the husky definitely had the advantage in the chain department. With that said, my overall impression is that if everything was the same I think the husky would come out out top with multiple seconds to spare. Thank you for watching!
You did a nice job on your 372. And, your chain is just dumping chips. A low hour 372 xtorq with 36" bar came up on craigslist for pretty cheap (the west coast full wrap 52mm version, I think xpw) and I didn't buy it, because everyone hates xtorqs. But, obviously with a little love, they run great. I did call the guy after about a month, and he had sold it. I have 2 other 372's original, so I really don't need another one. But, the price was pretty good (450 asking). I wish I could square file like you! Oh well ...
So if it was a 52mm xpw. It was not a xtorq. Xtorqs are only available in 50mm bore. If it was a OE 52mm xpw, that would be a 75cc xp. Needless to saw it’s a very sought after saw, and worth every bit of $450 if it’s in decent shape.

Your 372 sure has a smoother power band for sure.
Thanks Scott, by feel the husky has a ton more on the bottom end than the stihl. This is definitely not a apples to apples comparison though.
Both great runin saws.
They both have their place I’ll say that.
So, how tired are you of A. Snow. And B. Juniper. Hope Spring treats you well.
To be honest I’m sick of both. But I’m thankful to be working, so it’s all good!
