    I never tire of seeing this..brings back so many great family memories for me growing up in a Logger/Faller family. Every so often when I get to missing my Father and Grandfather I come back to this video and see how you have documented that....our Son has grown up this same way with me guiding him.... hopefully maybe someday he will stumble across this and see our way of life is very special.

      Thank you for sharing this! I am glad I could share my experience with you and bring back some good memories. I hope you and your son enjoy the trade... it is a gift not many people have the opportunity to do. God bless!

    Thanks so much Tyler for doing this and the script at the end....we my brother are truly the last of a dying breed. The Forest provides all we need and we know best how to provide for it to survive and thrive.
    Loved the entire visual and sound of your work and my Brothers who are in it.

    I do know how trees grow back. And I know you are doing a virtuous job. And I have seen the regrowth in Scotia, etc. Beautiful. You can hardly tell the difference.
    When the tourist rides the Skunk Train they see a lot of second growth they can't tell from old in places, until the tour guide tells them the difference. The public needs to know this. I promote good timber education at every chance.

    • @mikeuyeda2330
      @mikeuyeda2330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Skunk Train!! I was there in 1989 with my kids who were 11 and 9 years old. The conductor was a real character and story teller. The girls loved the guy who had pins and badges all over his uniform. Hotter than Hell! 105F. You fallers are tough to work in that heat.
      I fell timber in the Queen Charlotte Islands back in the 1970's. 80F was a hot day!!

    • @michaeldougfir9807
      @michaeldougfir9807 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Went on the Skunk Train with my first wife. I was unhappy with her that day, for some stupid reason. In a fee years she died of an aneurysm. Age just 41! Oh how I regret my stupid attitudes!
      My next wife had lived in Redwood country tho we never got to the Skunk Train. I'm glad to say I did better this time, because she has died too. Died of the Covid we didn't believe in.
      Believe me, if you are a jerk in your marriage, it will find you out! Don't make those vows if you aren't going to live them out. Do the right thing and your heart and mind (and hers) will suffer much, much less. It will please God and you will have a better life!

      @88foldpath 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's funny because a lot of foresters in the redwoods are environmentalists. A huge thing going on in Humboldt county and surrounding areas right now is thinning to restore the crowded 2nd growth that loggers decades back left behind and didn't clean up. Shits fucked up everywhere and the fire danger from it is a serious problem.
      Sincerely,
      An earth muffin who does work in the mountains of Humboldt running saw, rain, snow, or shine.

      My guess is that, the tree closer to the camera was cut first, but it didn't fall to the ground because it got caught in the other tree, so they have to cut the other tree to set it free.

    • @jameshynes-petty6573

      Usually the forester will find them and kick them out while writing the harvest plan as it isn’t the pot growers land.
