Sansa is a character that I began to like the longer the show went on.
I also am not pleased about Sansa becoming Stoneheart (if that happens), not because I wouldn't enjoy it and because it doesn't make sense. But because Arya is the badass stab-happy Stark, the warrior. I want to see Sansa become the opposite of that, continuing her progression to be a scheming and strategic genius.

Arya is nothing like Stoneheart. Also there was no talk about Sansa becoming Stoneheart. Why do you not think Sansa can take some elements of LSH whilst being scheming and strategic?

Arya is more of a fighter than a leader , and Sansa is literally Catelyn's daughter, down to her face and manners, and most possibly her slowly burning rage at the injustice done to her family. She is being led by Littlefinger, the most sucessful schemer of them all.

She will not become Stoneheart, she used the name stone because that's the name they give Bastards in the Vale, it was to protect her identity
And they do know what George R.R. Martin has wrote they know everything up until the end

I want things to happen as Littlefinger described to Sansa in the books: annul her marriage to Tyrion or prove herself a widow, then marry her to Harrold (the next heir to the Vale), Robin perishes from illness (or it looks that way), the armies of the Vale march on Winterfell evicting the Boltons, then Sansa's snow castle comes full circle as she rebuilds her home in the North exactly as she remembers it. There's no reason for Sansa to go on a vengeance arc - that story belongs to Arya.

I know the plan was for Tyrion to be executed, but now that he has escaped, Sansa will have to prove Tyrion is dead somewhere or that because they didn't consummate the marriage she can get an annulment. LF can't marry her off again otherwise.
No but like I said, its been since well before Joffrey. Tyrion was the only Lannister who truly saw LF as a threat and LF. (in book 1, Jamie says he is afraid of LF though) LF wanted Tyrion removed pretty much as soon as he got the HotK nomination and definitely in book three since Tyrion was able to follow LF's shady business practices.
Also, Sansa doesn't have any real way to get the marriage annulled. She would have to officially be out as Sansa again which is dangerous in her situation; and LF wouldn't want the crown to know that he was openly plotting against them until it is too late.

The producers have kind of foreshadowed dark Sansa in season 4. When Tyrion is in his cell with Jaime, Tyrion said something like, "Sansa is not a killer... yet". Sansa will be a killer but I really can't say that I like it because Arya is already water dancing with cats.

What I want is for Sansa to figure out the shitty things Littlefinger has down and that she takes him down, allies herself with the Vale and makes plans to take over Riverlands and the North by killing the Freys and Boltons. In conclusion I want Sansa to show what a baddass Ice Queen she truly is.
Sansa was my favorite character from the begging of the books."My skin has gone from porcelain, to ivory, to steel." and we know from Jon that steel doesn't break before it bends like iron. I expect Sansa to be one of the few characters that will survive until the end mostly because she can "mold" herself accordingly to her surroundings and needs. She is meant for great things.

You don't actually see him die, if i remember correctly - although it's implied that he *did* die. But who knows.
With Arya gone, there was no reason for him to stick around, assuming he did survive.

When Sansa told Cerci about Ned’s plans about leaving KL, she acted in her own interest and in doing so killed her father.
Well, she didn't really know anything was at stake when she did that. Keep in mind she wasn't privy to the escalating conflict between the Starks and the Lannister- it's not like Ned ever shared the plot with his 11-year-old daughter. So all she knew at the time was that her father was suddenly taking her away for some unexplained reason and wasn't even letting her say goodbye to her boyfriend. So yes, I guess you could say she acted "in her own interest", but at the time she had no reason to think that doing so would harm anyone.

She knew at the time that she was betraying her father, and she felt badly about it, but that didn’t stop her. She had already chose her beloved Joff over her family when she lied about what happened with Mycah. And this was after Cersei had Lady killed, and Mycah death. With all that she still trusted Cersei over her family.
Wren Wrenwood She knew she was defying her father. She knew she was being disobedient, something she normally tried to avoid by being a "good girl". Defiance is not the same thing as betrayal. Also, she didn't choose Joff over her family at the Trident. She didn't choose any side at all. If she had chosen Joff, she would have just corroborated his story. But she didn't. She was put in a position where either had to testify against her betrothed, the crown prince, or her family. So she chose to remain silent, probably thing the whole thing would just blow over. She was obviously wrong about that. And her opinion of Cersei did change after she ordered Lady's death. Sansa actually did blame Cersei for that. But when Sansa went to Cersei with Ned's plans to send her away, she had no reason to think anything was in jeopardy. To her, it seemed a mostly "harmless" decision, even if she did feel bad about disobeying her father. Sansa was nowhere savvy enough in the first book to consciously betray her family.
Yeah and when Yoda sent Leia to alderaan he inadvertently doomed millions and millions or people on the planet to die decades later. He acted in his best interest and the interest of the republic without realizing that his action would lead to the death of the innocent. No one can tell the future and hindsight is always 20/20.
And she regretted that. Move on from that because she paid severely for that and have matured from there.

I'm pretty sure that the creators said that George R. R. Martin talks to them about character plots so they can keep in line with his vision of the world. I've never watched a show that has so much respect for the author's work and vision before.

His real motives - because all we know is from other's POV so we don't actually know why he is doing what he is doing- but we do have a fair idea lol :)
I think he's a would be king of the north and the middlelands but he's not going to survive a clash with ramsi who's way too far south in a chance for killing or kidnapping Robin to secure the borders to the north.

Stone is the surname for bastards in the vale. She is supposed to be littlefingers bastard, hence the surname Stone. It has no meaning beyond that.

Sansa is probably the worst developed main character on the show and they had a ton of potential with her. They turned her from an innocent, weak, inept child into a........ weak innocent inept adult. In the books the potential is still there but they screwed her over hard in the tv show.
They looked like they were going to parallel her character with Cersei "from an innocent weak mindless child the game of thrones turns into a scheming, cunning politically strategic woman". When she started masking her fear at kings landing and especially when she lied at the Vale i thought FOR SURE they were going to make her independent and strong in a spirit/cunning way while Arya had the physical way. Then she just cries on her wedding night and cries to reek after and keeps waiting for someone to rescue her while crying.... i was actually hoping on her wedding night SHE was going make reek watch to torture him for what he did..... cruelty and revenge being cornerstones of the consequence for the game of thrones and further drawing parallel to Cersei
I think its great Sanasa's learning to play the game, she's finally becoming fun to watch.

Season 5 Sansa = Lady Stoneheart + Jayne Poole aka Arya. Littlefinger is going to convince Sansa to marry Ramsey (Elane Stone) I could tell you what happens next, but I'm not sure you'd believe me.

She'll still be going to going by Elane Stone, as a way of Littlefinger securing a Vale/Harrenhal(Riverlands)/Winterfell alliance.
I doubt that's how they're going to play it, for a couple of reasons. First, after Sansa's experiences with Joffrey, it seems strange to now have her get married off to arguably the only character who can exceed Joffrey's sadistic cruelty. Secondly, I think the books are going to ultimately have Sansa play a role in revealing who fake-Arya actually is. Remember that fake-Arya/Jeyne Poole was Sansa's best friend, and that Littlefinger was the one who provided Jeyne to the Boltons. So Littlefinger knows who "Arya" actually is, and that Sansa can confirm it. Plus, if he ever hopes to use Sansa to rule the North, he'll need to get the Boltons out of his way somehow.
Wolfeson28 I agree with you. At least, I really hope they don't take her in the fArya direction. They have really transformed Sansa's character as of late. So for them to just have her re-victimized by a Joffrey 2.0 would just be redundant and derailing to the character development they have given her. Plus, I really don't see Littlefinger putting her in that position.
Sansa is supposed to marry Robert Arryn when he comes of age, that is what Littlefinger wants. All of the lords present at the Winterfell 'wedding' will know about Sansa, it will never work. The most likely scenario is that Ramsey will marry his lover (Miranda?) and make it seem like it is Arya Stark, who most of the Northern Lords will not recognize.
Littlefinger will not gamble with Sansa's life by offering her to the Boltons- the Boltons want no more Starks in Winterfell, as they are now the Wardens of the North. Sansa would be killed as soon as the marriage is consummated (Ramsey can just get any other wife, maybe a Frey) and Petyr would not want Sansa dead.
I recently started Game of Thrones and I did nothing but watch and sleep until I got through the first 3 seasons. I haven't seen season 4 yet but love your videos and don't mind getting some spoilers. You explain things so well!

Sansa won't kill anyone. She'll marry Harrold Hardying and then the reveal herself as Sansa Stark, and take winter fell with the help of Stannis and Wyman Manderly, and the Vale.

she will not give it up for Littlefinger the way her aunt did- he seems to like her sexually, but Littlefinger will not harm his standing in the Vale by doing this- he is Robin's legal guardian after all, and her supposed 'uncle' (Father in the books). Petyr is one of the few lords in Westeros for whom sex is just something to do rather than something to enjoy.
I actually think she would become involved with him sexually after she has gained enough knowledge from him then kill him in the process.
I agree with what a lot of people are saying. Sansa is learning how to play the game of thrones, and that means being politically savvy and having others do the stabby-stab for you. It will be interesting see her take a more ruthless role, but I'm also hoping she doesn't lose all her morals, then the vengeance won't be as sweet.

Because this is totally new territory its pretty exciting to see where the show writers take this once naive girl and remake make her for the World. She was the last "living" Stark to understand the game and the one who witnessed the most.
Wouldn't it be awesome that after reviewing her life at King's Landing that she starts to have feelings for Tyrion? Even though he's in Esso, she may use her abilities learned from Little Finger to find him and whiling plotting deaths across the 7 Kingdoms, she writes love letters to him as an attempt to hold on to her humanity.
Just a crazy thought. Who knows where the writers and producers will go with her without Martin's books. This is the best part about the series in my opinion. After, when you play the game of thrones you either Win, or you die...

I think Sansa is definitely shifting into a darker version of the character we know her to be. She's learning out of necessity and she has a highly skilled manipulator at her side. I don't see her picking up a sword and killing people off like Arya, but I can see her becoming a master manipulator, using her words to get revenge for her family.

Love this new Sansa not just the evolution of her character but also the way she looks. She looks like a strong Northern woman with the tradicional Northern hair style and the dark color hair points out her descendance from a blood line of The First Man. LOVE IT!

To me, the Sansa/Little Finger story line is THE MOST interesting on GOT! I love the idea of dark Sansa! Throw it down girl! Great job as always Charlie!
I've always really enjoyed the balance between Sansa and Arya in terms of their armor and their weapons, where Arya primarily relies on her weapons, Sansa primarily relies on her wits and her growing ability to manipulate people. It's something that I love about both of them, as sisters, as two sides of the same coin. So I wouldn't really want to see Sansa get stabby with people, but I'm all for her destroying some people via manipulation (enabling other people to get stabby, for instance). I think that she can convince people to follow her and fight for her, and with Littlefinger's help, learn how to be a very cunning strategist. That's what I really want to see from Sansa.
I agree...it makes sense to me on Sansa progression in the Vale, especially when she is hanging out with Little Finger.

I'm actually really excited about this Sansa arc. I really loved how they handled her lying to the Lords of the Vale and that final scene of her walking down the stairs looking a lot like Catelyn, so seeing her organically change into a more badass version of herself (especially since I didn't really enjoy her that much before she started to go down this path.
