Great ending. Just like you I didnt like episode 3-5. I wish for episode 3 they would have showed us all the different ways to kill the white walkers and wights. I think they should have every big character (jorah, jaime, brienne, beric and Jon snow) use their valerian steel and fire sword to take down one of the 5 or 6 lieutenants that were around the night king on his way to confront Bran. I think that would make it alot easier to digest Arya flying out of nowhere to kill the night king. It sucks to see in previous episodes the importance of have the valerian steel and not seeing it be used properly
I like the idea of the night king freezing the water around Euron's fleet and the Dothraki marching on it because it would be a huge fulfillment of Ned's first season line "I'll fear the Dothraki the day they teach their horses to run on water"
as much as this would be amazing, this also would make the moment "when they were stuck on a small ice island with a nightwalker with just unfrozen water protecting them" worthless
The wall would be useless if Night King could just freeze the water. He could've just freeze the water and walk his army around it after the Battle of the Bastards and end Jon when he's at his weakest.
Cersei becoming the Mad Queen and Jaimes arc coming full circle as he has to kill her just like he did the Mad King would have been a masterpiece that would've been talked about for ages. Instead what people will be talking about for ages is how horrible the ending was.
Idk man I kinda liked the ending. Sure it could have been better, and it felt a bit rushed but most of the characters ended up the way they wanted, with Jon being back in the north, Sansa being Queen of the North, Bran being King, Tyrion being his hand. Daenerys’s death was poorly handled though. While I agree with her inevitable fate to become mad like her father and that she needed to die, I think she should have died differently, definitely by the hands of Jon though. I agree with Jaime killing Cersei after being ordered to kill everyone. That would have been a phenomenal character arch, but it would conflict with Daenerys burning the city, because if Cersei is dead she has no reason to burn everything... unless perhaps that could be seen as her being outrageously mad in the end, burning the entire city to ashes, because she felt it was the same as liberating.
@@matthewcross1352 why is daenerys fate of becoming mad inevitable? if we leave season 7 like how it was, there is no time for her to suddenly go mad, nor do i find a reasonable way for her to burn innocents to the ground, when she had been leaving clear she wont take the throne with the blood of innocents, but her enemies. i do agree that jaime ending cersei and this last one becoming mad would’ve been an incredible arc. i still dont see how bran as king makes sense, nor how the hell was useful for us to know that jon is a targaryen. lets not talk about rhaegal’s death bc that is impossible to hold together. yeah, the final didnt make any sense at all
@@angienoexiste I think what she was was trying to say is it was inevitable because based on the history of anyone in the past that was the mother/father of dragons, anyone with that “ability” I guess you can say have all gone mad I’m pretty sure. Correct me if I’m wrong. So I think that’s what they meant when they said she was bound to go crazy
Too bad you weren’t in the writers room as your ending is definitely better, although the Jon Snow part is way too tragic - poor guy can’t catch a break!
I don't think Arya can use Jaime's face without actually killing him and carving it out first. But other than that, it was a good what-could-have-been ending.
By the logic of the books she can’t. The person has to be dead, and it wouldn’t work after the battle is finished either, since the trees magic is what let’s Arya use the faceless man magic. It would make more sense to have Arya kill Qyburn and take his face. Then while trying to kill Cersei, she’s stopped by the mountain. After the battle, Cersei orders Arya’s body to be removed, after which the hound sees the mountain carrying her dead body. This makes the hound vs the mountain battle even more meaningful, plus let’s the rest of this ending play out as is.
While listening to your story, I kind of imagined all your story and forgot what I have watched , and feel much happier now , thanks for that Edit : OMG 42k like , I can't believe that
This was uploaded only 3 days after the final episode. Dude accomplished in 48 hours what Dan and Dave couldn't in 4 seasons. According to Martin he was cut off after season 4 and D&D took over completely. Crazy to this day those two still refuse to accept any criticisms.
Film Theory also proposed a better ending - Westeros should have fallen to White Walkers due to mankind's pride and obsession with power/control. Survivors would've barely manage to escape across the narrow sea 🌊
@@SSGoatanks wouldve been the best ending 100%... before I watched it I had heard the ending was bad so I was wondering if everyone was going to die and thought that wouldve sucked... until i watched the last season
It was such a useless and boring part. Aside from learning the full story of Hodor. Which also makes it even sadder that Hodors whole purpose was ultimately useless. 😢
having a bad ending is bad, but making a bad ending basically on purpose just cause you didn't want to keep going when essentially everyone else can think of better ways to continue or end than the writers is whats really heartbreaking
This is how I feel everything could of been better, from the point where Jamie leaves kings landing and reaches winterfell, where they actually gets defeated in battle against the army of the dead,or even just have a quick skirmish and decide they need more time and troops to defeat them so start marching south, once in kings landing,Jamie and Tyrion go to negotiate with cersei, and which point they all realise she has loaded up the city with wildfire, the discussion escalate and Jamie is forced to stab her in the back, repeating the story, by this time, killing the MAD queen, now lannisters, stark and daenerys army are all banded, they defeat the army of the death,Jamie survive and bang Brianne forever after
that's the worst of it. the writers have this "in your face" attitude about it, like they're glad they caught us off guard and ruined something perfectly good.
Amardeep Grewal he does have powers, but doesn’t use them, he used them to control Hodor, to control Summer even Ghost, but didn’t use them to control dragons for example to help them
My end so they can do it again. Dany attacks king's landing without destroying it. Cersei gets captured doesn't bend the knee gets burned. Sansa doesn't bend the knee either. A war between the North and King's landing starts. In this war Dany rides Drogon to kill north people but Bran controls it with warg power. Jon fights Grey Worm killing him. Jaime tries to kill Dany, Jon defends her and both die. Dany have a MAD white hair baby making the war over. End.
I would add that the last scene should be a small bright red sprout pushing/ growing through the grey ashes of the the burned Weirwood tree, signifying that magic may not be gone from the world forever and hinting to its return. This would also hint to potential following seasons.
And licorns being born. That is not the spirit of the show. Everybody wanted to be healed but this is a cruel show. They are not supposed to pamper us.
me, dammit man, what the fuck D&D did, were they drunk during this whole. a little addition to this may be adding the stories of jacen hgar, (the most mysterious character), and the quaithe saying this to danny back in like season 3 or 4 : when Quaithe talks to Dany in Qarth: “To go north, you must journey south. To reach the west, you must go east. To go forward you must go back, and to touch the light you must pass beneath the shadow.”
@@light5978 I wanted to rewatch it all during this period, I just can't, that ending, I can't forget it.. it's like trying having sex but they tell you that as soon as you're about to reach the orgasm they will rip your balls off
Major plot problem. If the Night King makes it to King's Landing, then he has slaughtered the entire country before he got there. And has an army of millions
@@godabandonedthistimelineyeah, like how Danny “forgot about the Iron Fleet” in the actual season 8…no. The NK wouldn’t make such a mistake. The army size doesn’t matter since in this alternate ending, the burning of the tree kills them all.
There’s only so much that could be done wit 6 episodes but if the show was longer. I would’ve done it like this. Dany should’ve ruled for a bit bringing the capital back to life and eventually becoming The Mad Queen, Cersei should’ve never died and manage to escape. but Jaime dies on their way to the boat wit some of the kingsguards as the building collapse. We can than see Cersei lookin’ behind at Jaime’s corpse and desperately trying to get back to him but is held back by her soldiers for the greater good, the look of revenge stumble upon her face. Jon being a Targaryen is actually really good and he has now been hailed The King In The North and the true heir of the seven kingdoms as his secret is now revealed by Davos. Sansa & Arya do not want the seven kingdoms but wants The North to remain as an independent kingdom but Dany refuse and later brand The North as an open rebellion / Enemy of the crown. Claiming they all should obey her commands for the fact that she saved them from the white walkers and that Jon wouldn’t even be alive without the help of her dragons. Davos never dies and later advice Jon instead of Dany (also been branded as an enemy of the crown). Tyrion has been locked up for some time but Dany is smart enough to realize that she needs him now more than ever and frees him. She goes to war wit the Notherners and Jon being a Targaryen claims the Ice Dragon The Night King had and another dance of the dragons scene occurres. Dany and the unsullied are soundly defeated because of poorly executed battle plans and the suprise attack of Jon’s new Ice dragon and ofc winter is finally here forcing Dany and her men to retreat. Dany’s last dragon is hurt and Cersei wit the help of The Golden Company and the remaining Lannisters has conquered King’s Landing once again. (Tyrion adviced Dany to not send too many men up North and have the Unsullied protect the capital but Dany refuse turning her unsend logic into more madness as another sign of the mad queen.) The Mad Queen has now nowhere to go and no allies left, She has been defeated in The North and Cersei has reclaimed the capital. Forcing her to desperately find allies and raid / burn small villages in order to feed her men and find treatment for her last dragon. Most of the villages refuse to take her in as there’s not enough food to feed her army. She than orders Grey Worm and the Unsullied to butcher every single resident including the children. You can see the hesitation on Grey Worm’s & Missandei’s face as he holds a dagger staring at a scared little boy reminding him of himself when the slave owners took him as a child. He has now become what he has always fought against by his beloved queen. (Yes in my version Missandei is alive and Yara dies instead making Theon Lord / King Of The Iron Islands and Loyal to Daenerys). Daenerys asks Theon for help and promise to avenge Yara as a return but The Starks tells him not to. He stays Loyal to The Starks and Dany swears to burn down the Iron Islands for betraying their Queen and crush The Greyjoy Dynasty once she has reclaimed the Iron Throne (another sign of madness). She finally arrives In The Vale where her attack is succesful and the witch who previously brought Khal Drogo back to life heals her dragon. Jon tries to negotiate to Cersei about working together to take down The Mad Queen. But Sansa and Arya ain’t having none of it. Cersei refuse so Arya take things into her own hands and kills Cersei in her bedroom at night wit The Face Of Jaime, suprising everyone. The Lannister Dynasty has come to an end and The Golden Company has returned as they were sellswords and the remaining army declare Jon Targaryen as the true heir of the seven kingdoms. Jon is a generous and soft hearted king much like Viserys The Peaceful. The People love him, His armies are stronger than ever and his dragon is flying over King’s Landing patrolling the border. Dany’s hears about his and return to Bay Of Dragons to reconnect wit the second sons. Ruling there temporarily as she gathers her armies. Her Dragon has fully healed and she now has her eyes on The Iron Throne once again. Davos advice Jon that he has nothing to worry about as The Mad Queen has gon’ even madder and has no interest in the Iron Throne but Bran disagrees and can hear the conversation they’re having about reclaiming The Iron Throne. Sansa also disagree and thinks that she should be dealt with immdieately before another war can breakout but Jon’s kind hearted nature will not send assassins to have her Dany murdered (The same mentality as Ned). Tyrion carefully tries to advice Dany to not reclaim The Iron Throne and stay in The Bay Of Dragons instead. Dany tells him to basically shut up and for the first time Missandei speaks up and tells Dany that she’s making a mistake. Dany commands the unsullied to lock up Missandei for treason. Tyrion screams «WHAT TREASON?!» Dany replies wit «No one disobey The Dragon Queen» Tyrion than replies «you’re not the only wit a dragon anymore, remember?» Missandei screams for Grey Worm as he sheds a tear and is finally realizing that his beloved queen is gone but his loyalty is still there. You can see the sadness and betrayal on his face but he remains quiet. Dany takes The Second sons & the remaining dothraki and unsullied on her dragon and heads for King’s Landing. The True war begins as the dragons are fighting killing civilians, soldiers and burning down buildings. The Dothraki & Unsullied breach the gates and fighting has started. In the mix of it all, Brienne is killed by the Dothrakis, Daario gets killed by the notherners, Arya gets hurt bad and Daenerys last dragon is finally killed as she falls from the sky. She’s than surrounded by the lannister army but the unsullied / Dothraki comes to her rescue and Grey Worm gets stabbed (not killed) protecting Dany. Dany is defeated and as she runs away wit her remaining soldiers she hears Jon’s dragon screeching, the soldiers fighting, the bloodshed and civilians screaming and finally sees the terror of war from a foot soldier’s point of you. She geniunely snaps back to her old self and finally waves the white flag surrendering. She than brought to the court of law by the starks. Out of words in regret and sorrow she asks The Starks for forgiveness. Jon is merciful and actually lets her own advisors and the people closest to her decide what her punishment should be. Sansa is outraged as Missandei is brought into the room along side Tyrion. Grey Worm is standing there breathing heavly and bleeding from a stab womb. It’s an awkward silence in the air and Dany is suprised over the fact that they’re not backing her immdieately. Grey Worm looks over at Missandei and Tyrion as they all come to a mutual agreement he says. «The Dragon Queen must die». Dany replies wit «NO NO NO!!! I’ll have you killed!!!! No I’m sorry, I’m not like my father, I am not like my father!!!!!». Jon says «As the king of the seven kingdoms I, Jon Targaryen, sentence you Daenerys Targaryen to die». Arya limps over to slice Dany’s throat the same she did to Lord Baelish but you can clearly tell she’s too hurt. Sansa stops her and says «No I’ll do it» Dany falls to her knees and repeats «I’m not like my father please!!». ended by Sansa’s «goodbye Dragon Queen the world will be just like you imagined, just without you» and slice her throat. The Show ends wit a camera shot of Dany’s bleeding face wit the bells ringing in the background. Jon proceeds to be the true protector of the realm and has won The Game Of Thrones
@@irishredenjoyer Yep. Once you have read the books (or watch the series to that point), many times over, there no question that it had to be Jaime to kill her. He, or maybe Arya.
Excellent ending. I think Jaime should’ve killed Cersei, because it would’ve fulfilled the prophecy. She had assumed the younger brother that would kill her was Tyrion, but it was actually Jaime. I love it!
Why is the kingslayer such a haunting title for Jamie's character? After season 6 everyone just moves on when his entire character arch was built on the misjudged of a silent and selfless act. Essentially the decision for him killing Cersei is understanding that it's selfless acts that are the real heros and hold true the true honor. His character would have been wrapped up so well! I do think that it also speaks to the theme that technically no one is fit because everyone is punished in their efforts for the throne
There's a lot going on with Jaime's arc as it reflects on the society of Westeros itself. Just about everyone that calls him King Slayer was on the rebel (Robert's) side.
decades ago as per book i guess cersei will be killed by jaimie because kingslayer is crazy in love and loyal with cersei but this bitch just f any man for her goals and i thought she will be pregnant by her kingsguard. thats what i think when i read it long time ago..and then Season 8 happen lol...
I think the Winterfell crypt scene is all the more ridiculous when you realize the skeletal whytes are breaking out of stone tombs when the much more intact whyte couldn't break out of a wooden box in the previous season.
im sure the captures wight couldnt get out cus he was so far away from the night king, which reduced the power of his magic and made the wight weaker. but still just a bunch of skelly bones breaking out of STONE TOMBS is stupid
@@epepepe7178 maybe I missed something. In fiction necromancy can be bound or nullified by iron. The crate had iron bands which could have weakened the whyte. The Stark graves in the crypt all had iron swords over them at some point but most had rusted away. Eh, I'm not in the excuse making business.
I like to think the Stark whites are just stronger. The Knight King is a Stark isn't he? I could be wrong, hell, why am I defending D and D's awful writing?
Did everyone forget about the prophecy in which cersei is killed/strangled by her younger brother??? The question is, which younger brother will be the one to kill her?
PP Seminole You literally had a happy ending on the show. If they didn’t want a happy ending they could have killed a bunch of the main characters, left problems unsolved, made it more realistic. Instead all the wrong people got their happy ending and the rest were screwed.
I love the idea of Jamie killing Cersei, it really felt like it was heading that way, but your idea of having her echo "burn them all" really adds something to it!
And throw in a look of absolute heartbreak and devastation on Jamie’s face as Cersei says it, because he realizes what must be done. I want Cersei to be yelling and raging in the moment. A mad queen. Jamie stabs her in the back. He holds her and guides her to the ground. As Cersei dies, blood spills from her mouth, tears of anger. With her final breath, she hisses, “Queen slayer.” She says it like a curse, a slur. Hatred and betrayal in her eyes. She is on the ground now, Jamie at her side. He is tender as he a wipes a tear from her face. “The things I do… for love.” He is sincere and gentle. No longer sardonic like the first time he said it. He can give a final kiss goodbye, or they can sit quietly. Cersei’s anger turns to sadness and vulnerable regret. She is vulnerable in a way we hadn’t seen in seasons. A youthful Cersei, who is frightened. Because they truly loved each other. Because she can only be this way around Jamie. Jamie killing Cersei releases her from the burdens of rulership and the monster she has become. Finally, they are free from the game. “Jamie…” she says. Then she’s gone.
Yea. I feel like everyone thought for years that either Jamie himself would kill Cersei, or Arya would kill Cersei with Jamie's face. After Arya killed the Night King, the idea of her killing Cersei with Jamie's face was kind of out the window cause... I mean they couldn't have her do all of it, right? But I still really thought it was gonna be Jamie in the end. Maybe in the books... if they're ever finished.
@@vaveevo I think it would also be good with Jaimes pain of his love gone that he also kills himself afterwards because he can’t live with killing two rulers and his love.
Can’t even spell her name so of course one can’t expect that you understood how bad of a ruler she really was. 8 Seasons of trying to show y’all that this whole “entitled to the throne because of my last name” is BS and you dummies still believe it’s a good thing for someone to be a ruler just because they have a certain last name and cool dragons. Good shows like this are wasted on you idiots who can’t think.
Jamie is not killing Cersei and their heir which is the most important said by Tywin. Tyrion said Cersei isnt a monster. She just wants whats best for her family.
Jamie killing Cersei also is a throwback to the phrophecy the witch told her a few seasons back by when she’ll die from her brother and be replaced by a ‘more beautiful’ queen
this gave me little relief after being lost for years being sad about what they did to the Epic. Thank you sooooo much bro! Your story is great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thank you!!

Also, the idea of zombies breaking through solid rock and jumping out like that was absurd. They are just people who feel no pain. They don't have super powers to break through heavy stone like that. Besides if the Night King had powers to resurrect even fossils, then millions more dead should be clambering out of the soil from wherever he goes. Westeros is nothing but a graveyard with rate of people getting killed exceeds people born.
Yup, they could have played up the history of Blood Raven, being Brynden Rivers and that story line. And said that he had possessed Bran when he was wargged into the tree beyond the wall to get revenge for being banished. Because Myra said The Bran she knew was gone, and Bran said that he was no longer Bran. All this however would have required another 10 episodes, and they wanted to rush to make it done. Even after a 2 year wait, they rushed out 6 episodes. I’m hoping GRRM will finish the books, but I’m not confident that he even cares anymore.
I don't have an issue with Bran becoming the king seeing as he would be a good ruler, and ensure good people are put in positions of power but just the way it came about was stupid.

I only just watched GOT. I didn’t follow the hype at the time. Was too busy and don’t watch much tv. I just completed all 8 seasons in 5 weeks. I can’t believe it’s over 😭 and can’t believe it ended like that. Your version makes total sense. All the build up to defend the night king, Arya kills him, pretty much gets no praise and then it’s back to normal and an ending that felt totally off the mark. They did an amazing job all the way until season 8 and it still wouldn’t feel right if they went back and re did it. The anticipation was too high to just forget the original failed ending unless you were watching it for the first time.
A year ago today, the episode 8x05 “The Bells" was released. And I'm not going to lie but it still hurts like a bitch to think how much they massacred this show in just 4 episodes. So for the sake of my sanity, on this day, I finally convince myself that THIS video is THE real ending of GoT. And for this, thank you so much Think Story !
Feel the same way about it. How do prep a masterpiece and then fuck it up at the end.....who does that. Pure laziness in Hollywood. They lost out on major dvd blue ray sales and much more. If anything they could’ve had a standin or take a break or somethin other that putting out that last 4 episodes. Very few things that are good get either destroyed or put on the back burner. Meanwhile their show Lucifer has top ratings and has everything thrilled to suck of Satan.
Never in my life has anything been more satisfying then your ending making sense and without shock purpose because Dany destroying kings landing was against her morals and her arc
@@topaznnani4003 like ALL the times she had to be persuaded to do something less Targaryen. Without Tyrion she would have fallen sooner into that darkness for sure.
Dall1 its true she was descending into madness due to jon’s real identity and his popularity, Missandei’s death etc. but she still knew right from wrong. Throughout the entire series she killed the bad guys and saved the good, like Tyrion said. Although she was becoming more and more unstable she still had awareness of her morals.
@@pollyjayne5312 except she was becoming more and more unstable as each season went by. We kept getting those mad king like moments each season pointing to her inability to contain her emotions in traumatic situations. When she saw Missandei mercilessly beheaded by Cersei that was the moment that snapped her IMO. Keep in mind she told Danny to burn the city and she followed through on that.
Maybe he could see that if all these terrible things didn’t happen he wouldn’t be king and maybe he knows that he is the only person that should be king...
I thought dany and Jon was going to produce a child that is going to be the greatest ruler in the land to unite all, that's why bran didn't interfere with the incest, turns out that little pervert just wanted to see a sexshow.
Seriously. The ending was like much of real life, ppl dont realize their potential and they throw it all away or they let ego take over and game of thrones is nothing if not full of ego maniacs throughout so that said i think the ending did egos justice.
A very good alternate ending - Maybe Arya to kill the mountain in front of a dying Hound? John to go with Danny for the final battle with the Nights king? Loved the idea of Bran finding the solution and Jamie killing Cersei. Scenes of the undead army swarming through the river lands during the retreat to Kings Landing would be a nice touch too.
I'm gonna be honest.. I actually felt joy throughout the entirety of this video. I can imagine GoT ending like this and it's good enough for me. Thank you!
i knew i was disappointed by the series, but i didn't realize just exactly how robbed i felt until i watched this... and ended up CRYING from having a satisfying ending. 10/10
This was cool but Arya can’t have a Jamie face without him being dead. The masks were made from the faces of the dead. So having her in a Jamie mask and Jamie still alive isn’t possible.
Which I think would be an even better ending - if Arya wasn't stabbed but she killed Cersi with Jamie's face - after Arya had killed Jamie. Would have been so awesome.
Your good, this is so much better! Pains that it's left as fiction of a fiction. Still could not force myself to re watch GoT couse of last season, although would like to see rest of it again :)
I hoped I’d feel the same way but now I just feel massively cheated where I didn’t get to see a season 8 that made any sense or had satisfying payoffs.
I thought I could never watch this great show again. Now I will watch it up to Season 8 Episode 2 and then switch to your Video! Thank you, you saved GoT for me.
Same! Watching this has helped me feel so much better. (I was traumatized by how bad official season 8 was). I am totally replacing this ending in my mind now. Thank you!
Bran's whole purpose was tied to the Night King. He was the one who should've ended the walkers, not become king. Jon's whole story is about not wanting to rule despite being born to do it... yet he ends up killing Daenerys and being exiled beyond the wall. Arya's mission was to get revenge and kill everyone on her list, yet instead of getting to kill Cersei she ends up killing the NK with whom she had 0 conflicts. Jamie's destiny was to obtain redemption and prove himself more than a king slayer, yet he dies under a pile of bricks having achieved nothing. He should've died in the north, saving Daenerys during the battle of Winterfell. He killed the father, what better way to clear his name than saving the daughter? With Cersei and Jamie dead, Tyrion's arc should've completed by becoming lord of Casterly Rock, against all odds and against his family's will and expectations. Daenerys ... I don't know, eaten by Drogon or something. Anything but the way she ended up in the series.
I really hated it when Khaleesi died, she should have stopped the drogon when the Gate to the Red Keep was destroyed! I felt very bad the way she was killed!
I kind of think Daenerys should have gone to Valyria and try to rebuild the burnt city again from scratch, making it a haven for rescued slaves. Her whole arc was about finding her home, finding her people, and freeing slaves. Isn't Valyria more of her roots than Westeros? And for once in her life she would have tried to build something, not reduce something to ashes, more of a challenge for her, and a chance to actually build the world she likes, being a true Queen instead of a conqueror.
Kept wanting a scene where they focus on the Iron throne and pan downwards through the castle and it is linked to a secret huge buried UFO space ship. The iron throne 'power and magic' comes from ancient hidden technology ! :-D
You actually can't die now. All this, is nothing. This video is about an alternative ending about an alternative ending. The real ending still has to come, Mr. George R. R. Martin won't die until he finishes the last two books. That's what keeps me and other fans going. Knowing that the real ending is(hopefully) being written somewhere in the world.
Agree!! Its took every once of strength I have to finish episodes 5&6. The worst pay off ever! I'll never understand why HBO can't ever deliver a good finally. It's like a curse. Kind of like the finally to the Sopranos! What a waste.
Hbo doesnt give a shit about fan when they know their shitty GOT last season will make money anyway. Why invest so much more into some show when you know you cant make more money from it?
I really like this rewrite.I'd also like to see Brieene die in the first battle against the nightking. This would lead to Jaime being angry at Cersei for not helping in the fight and being indirectly guilty for Brienne's death. In the end Jaime writes a page about Brienne, the first female knight, in the book and then sees that his page still is unfilled and probably never be bc he killed a queen/king once again. Nevertheless he thinks he made the right choice.

How could they ruin something this big and close to people's hearts all because they wanted to move on and earn money with something else? Thats not true at all, that whole plot point was such a perfect way to set up her shocking and powerful kill of the Night King! She wasn’t taught just how to faceswap, the more important lesson she was taught while over there was how to be ‘nobody’, and she pretty much got some ultra ninja training. This allowed her to eventually sneak past the white walkers and army of the dead to be able to sneak up on the night king, where the shock of the audience cleverly paralleled the shock of the characters at noticing her and showed the extent of her abilities and bravery!

This “new ending” was so freaking good that I could easily imagine each scene as you told it. I was furious about what really happened and for the exact reasons listed, character arch’s were trash and lack of pay offs. Great job man. Great
5 years watching this video late... but better late then never. This alternate story finally puts a feel of relief from what the actual show was like on season 8... gawd i was so angry, and this version makes me feel so relieved and a sense of satisfaction. Thank you for making this video, i needed it.
If just George would finish the books, so that one day we can witness the true ending. Then I could call season 7 & 8 Legends, and replace the legends ending I made up for myself in my mind after Season 6, with the book ending and call it Canon
Only thing I would have added to this synopsis is...The Night King would have brought back the most evil pos in this whole story: Joffrey Baratheon. Think of the side stories and the carnage that kids zombie could have added to this ending.
Arya only could’ve had Jaime’s face if she had killed him. Therefore we couldn’t have had both the “Arya wearing Jamie’s face and getting stabbed by Ellaria” scene plus the “Jaime comes and eventually kills Cersei” scene. Besides that detail, this is a much better finale than the one we were given..
Have Ellaria kill the Mountain as revenge for Oberyn. The fight between the Hound and the Mountain was an anticlimax. Either leave the Hound alive or have him killed some other way.
Elaria comes upon the Mountain gaining the advantage over the Hound. With her knowledge of potions and poisons, she recognizes a jar of wildfire, uses it to light the Mountain on fire, giving the Hound a chance to rally. Burning with green fire, the Mountain bear hugs the Hound, who then plunges his thumbs into the Mountain's eyesockets, eventually crushing his skull in a messy green fiery explosion. Both Elaria and the Hound get poetic payback, double the satisfaction!
I really like your version in its entirety. The disappointment at the released ending was almost as big as the amazement at the rest of the production. It just felt as if the creators thought 'right, we've got our money, we're bored of this now'. Please let an alternative and worthy end be remade. Great video.
yes me too but in my head magic didn't end and there for jon didn't die :p , also Brienne and Jaime get married and lady mormont never dies also missandei never dies , lmao i know i changed too much i need help
I love this and it is now my version with two additions… Brienne has a daughter from Jaime who is raised with little Jon, and the Hound wins his battle with his brother, surviving to serve as protector to Sansa as she rules as protector of the North. He always seemed to find purpose with his Little Bird.
Bro I loved your version a lot! It made so much sense and would have given the characters we have been seeing through the seasons all these years their due credit. Thanks for making it. I wish the petition gets through and we get to see something more reasonable than the show's original sh*ty ending. ❤
@@Commentfromcommeter Yeah You are so right, for me there was one more thing to mention; Daenerys just ended up dying, what kind of makes her character ark not logically enough and disappointing too, like what the hell are they even doing with that writing ... In my opinion they cant just take her character ark and change her as a whole in like 2-3 episodes. And the ending as a whole doesnt make sense at all for me, Bran becoming king was like the most horrible thing after all this shit happening! Well anyway I am kind of sad.
@@Commentfromcommeter The G8 imperialism "democracy is the saviour" propaganda. Amusing, because of the actors, but very weak, forced and rushed from a scriptwriter pov..
@@BigBruh-xu4xc they didn't change Daenerys's arc in 2-3 episodes mate... You really didn't pay much attention, did you? This has been slowly building up since the beginning of the show. She got progressively more erratic, more impatient, more impulsive. She was so convinced she was right, she ended up blinded by her own sense of righteousness, and that was her downfall. She didn't burn King's Landing because it was "right". It was an emotional outburst. Frustration, impatience, pain, grief and a moment of adrenaline induced rage led her to do that. The problem is that she was so blinded and her judgement was so clouded that she was incapable of understand that what she did was wrong. That's why she had to be stopped. Granted, they still rushed it in the end, but it still makes sense, and if you can't see that, I'm sorry, but you really didn't pay attention at all.
this version is just perfect, amazing story and I really love it, too bad that writers didnt have ideas like this, instead the choose to be very shallow with all this
The best possible ending. So much better than that season 8 shit.

I watched this video years ago and no lie when I think back on GOT, this is actually how I’ve tricked myself into remembering it ending. Thanks! This is brilliant. They need to remake it this way
This is a true fucking ending, although Jon is my favorite character his death in this would be so powerful and a great send off for a great goddamn character. Amazing video man
Let's not forget the Knight King who was built up since EP. 1 and was taken out after shitty battle strategy, luck, and a small girl jumping out of no where.
Alex Cool I agree the last season was bad... ideas were rushed and it absolutely showed. But... I had no idea who the Night King was until like Season 4. The battle plan wasn’t followed by Dani bc, well, she’s Dani. And the little girl is about the best assassin in Westeros. So your reasons seem a bit off for disliking it. But as i said, definitely things to dislike.
I really liked this ending. It builds to a climactic ending, it fulfills the prophecies, it gives the symbols purpose, it gives the characters a better story arch, and most of all Jamie ends the story by repeating history this time killing the new mad queen.
Maybe I’m salty because I’m a Jon fan, but this doesn’t really fulfill the most important prophecy in the got series which is the song of ice and fire. Daenerys I don’t think is the answer cause she’s a full blood tageryn where Jon is a stark and tageryn, and it was said that someone of fire and ice was to sit on the throne to unite all the kingdoms destined to defend and defeat the night king , Daenerys doesn’t really show change as the tageryns will always dominate the bloodline, but if Jon were to be king, the bloodline would be set in place, fire and ice always protecting the realm through rule.
To be fair Jon is a lot more Stark than Targaryen at the point of season 7-8. Thanks to Jon, House Targaryen has a male heir, the song of ice and fire. @@zaydenkai
Talking about climax, I understand that for GOT standards, maybe the death of the Night King was a midpoint and not the climax of the season. However, if seventy episodes building up to it it's not enough, I don't know what. Yes, the direct confrontation is finished within an episode, but it's still a climax. You've got 3 episodes more to wrap the rest of the things and it's over. That's pretty much a climax.
@@spodergibbs5088 ya That Was logical Miss. I would Yara would have a role to play! As he din change the first two episodes atall, We have Yara free @iron island! Thank goodness for fanfiction!
Hey, I'm just happy that Sansa is Queen in the North, but I'm gonna need fanfiction to help with the wait for the novels
I like the idea of the night king freezing the water around Euron's fleet and the Dothraki marching on it because it would be a huge fulfillment of Ned's first season line "I'll fear the Dothraki the day they teach their horses to run on water"
this comment just made me 1000% more sad of what a fucking moment that could’ve been
WONDERFUL POINT! OMG DID NOT EVEN CONSIDER THAT IN MY REWRITE
Omg. How can us non writers think of better endings
as much as this would be amazing, this also would make the moment "when they were stuck on a small ice island with a nightwalker with just unfrozen water protecting them" worthless
Instead what people will be talking about for ages is how horrible the ending was.
they'll talk about that and that stupid Starbucks cup forever.
Nice idea
This 16 minute video was 1000% more fulfilling than the entire last season

I still have a few problems with it, but it's wayyyy better than Dumb and Dumber forgetting about good writing.

You deserve more like Ser Ganji
I don't think Arya can use Jaime's face without actually killing him and carving it out first. But other than that, it was a good what-could-have-been ending.
The one problem with this rewrite
Nah remember that girl who hated arya when she was training. She used Arya's face at some point. I can't remember but it was before she got blind
Yeah that's what I thought too
@@TheShahofIrann I like this, except Arya has to survive with Clegane saving her

Right, it was therapeutic.
This was uploaded only 3 days after the final episode. Dude accomplished in 48 hours what Dan and Dave couldn't in 4 seasons.
According to Martin he was cut off after season 4 and D&D took over completely. Crazy to this day those two still refuse to accept any criticisms.
Makes total sense because that was the start when the show began to suck.
5 years later and I stumble upon this video and I find the single greatest alternative ending ever

Hope you’re well
I was so annoyed that they made Bran just sit there and not use his powers. It made no sense at all.
having a bad ending is bad, but making a bad ending basically on purpose just cause you didn't want to keep going when essentially everyone else can think of better ways to continue or end than the writers is whats really heartbreaking
YES literally this. It only wrapped up in such a rushed way bc they wanted to go & work on Star Wars (which they were then fired from)
Beyond that, Winds of winter isn't done yet. I think the key is to make your own ending, it takes only a little bit of effort.
Exactly- they tossed it off so they could do Star Wars instead of handing it over to someone who gave a shit
the closure that I needed 5 years ago. thankyou for this 😂😭
"Yes, in my version Bran actually uses the powers that actually helps them."
Bran has powers? Says anyone who only watches season 8.
All he needs to do is to sit on his favorite chair, stare and creep everyone out, and then he becomes the king of the realms lol.
End.
The alternate endings where ends up being the night king because he spent too much time in a green dream is pretty interesting.
I would add that the last scene should be a small bright red sprout pushing/ growing through the grey ashes of the the burned Weirwood tree, signifying that magic may not be gone from the world forever and hinting to its return. This would also hint to potential following seasons.
🤩
Fantastic addition!
ther is a chance that magic doesn't dispear bcs of dieanris'brother who still alive in the books as some people says
And licorns being born. That is not the spirit of the show. Everybody wanted to be healed but this is a cruel show. They are not supposed to pamper us.

This ending though is so satisfying so im just gonna erase what D&D made and im gonna praise this remake
me, dammit man, what the fuck D&D did, were they drunk during this whole. a little addition to this may be adding the stories of jacen hgar, (the most mysterious character), and the quaithe saying this to danny back in like season 3 or 4 :
when Quaithe talks to Dany in Qarth: “To go north, you must journey south. To reach the west, you must go east. To go forward you must go back, and to touch the light you must pass beneath the shadow.”

I'm just going to pretend that THIS is the true way it ended. Great job.
Same here!
True
true. and cersei got her prophecy realized, being killed by valonqhar (little brother in high valyrian) but in this case is jaime not tyrion
Sansa stops her and says «No I’ll do it» Dany falls to her knees and repeats
«I’m not like my father please!!». ended by Sansa’s «goodbye Dragon Queen the world will be just like you imagined, just without you» and slice her throat. The Show ends wit a camera shot of Dany’s bleeding face wit the bells ringing in the background. Jon proceeds to be the true protector of the realm and has won The Game Of Thrones

Not going to lie. This would be a crazy ending. Jaime killing cersi that would have been a cinematic masterpiece. I like how you think.
It's basically been foretold in the books that he will do it
Or Sansa stark could bring Cersei's head just like her father's death Ned stark
That would have been the most obvious thing to happen, actually. D&D just wanted to subvert our expectations in a really dumb way.
Jaime killing Cersei was the whole point of their story arc - from the very beginning it was bound to happen.
@@irishredenjoyer Yep. Once you have read the books (or watch the series to that point), many times over, there no question that it had to be Jaime to kill her. He, or maybe Arya.

Imo, Jamie stabbing Cersei while she dying in his arms would have made much more sense than Jon killing Dany.

Not really. Jon stabbing dsny makes sense. Dany burning kings landing doesnt.
And would have fulfilled the prophecy that Cersei would be killed by her younger brother, which she always assumed was Tyrian.

I like that very very much!

2. Tommin... ⚔️👑
And it makes him a KinSlayer
Well..i don't mind that. Jamie was always slaying that so called Queen. 😅
At that point, i think they could just call him, The Slayer.
I've been saying that since season 5
Agreed, and the show made the prophecy pointless. I think Jaime will kill Cersei in the books, GRRM wouldn't throw away that prophecy.
If we're going purely by the show. Jaime's bitchy sister pussy whooped ass ain't gonna kill her.
No way a 16 min video is better than the entirety of s8 this could have been the best show in history..

So true! I couldn't see anything.
I love the idea of Jamie killing Cersei, it really felt like it was heading that way, but your idea of having her echo "burn them all" really adds something to it!
Dani should have beheaded tyrion for military incompetence.
@@vaveevo goddamn this is good

Same. I started watching around season 6 (gf had already started it ) and watching the night king die to a dagger with no effort set me off.
I agree. Dany turned crazy, Sansa turned bitter, Tyrion turned dumb, and Jon became useless. None of them felt like themselves from previous seasons.
I like this plot, I always thought Danarys should have sat on the iron throne at the end because she was a Targaryen.
Jamie killing Cersei got me. That resonated so much more than that whole Jon/Dany ordeal
Jamie is not killing Cersei and their heir which is the most important said by Tywin. Tyrion said Cersei isnt a monster. She just wants whats best for her family.

In that case, we could have arya come as euron and not jaime, idk how it would play out... but could be cool idk
That is what I am saying

hea hea!! to the true ending!!! 🍻
End.
Same here
Also, the idea of zombies breaking through solid rock and jumping out like that was absurd.
How does Arya wear Jamie’s face while he’s still alive
Bran Stark becoming king... was one the biggest anti-climax moments of my life.

Nice version with some cool ideas, although I had no problem with how things actually played out IRL

@@Valirie101 Ramsay thought the same about his dogs, he ended up ok...
@@Calinn86 dogs and dragons are major differences, btw Khaleesi is the dragons mother, ramsay is just an owner of an dog
As far as I'm concerned, your version is what really happened.

True
This is why she should use Qybern's face as someone said in another comment. Kill him and use his face to leave Jaime alive.
Have Ellaria kill the Mountain as revenge for Oberyn. The fight between the Hound and the Mountain was an anticlimax. Either leave the Hound alive or have him killed some other way.
Was looking for this comment so i wouldnt have to write it haha
Elaria comes upon the Mountain gaining the advantage over the Hound. With her knowledge of potions and poisons, she recognizes a jar of wildfire, uses it to light the Mountain on fire, giving the Hound a chance to rally. Burning with green fire, the Mountain bear hugs the Hound, who then plunges his thumbs into the Mountain's eyesockets, eventually crushing his skull in a messy green fiery explosion. Both Elaria and the Hound get poetic payback, double the satisfaction!

Okay thats it. Thats the ONLY ending im believing.
This is the version im sticking with and im gonna live peacefully now
Legit me lool
me tooo!!!
I agree!!!!
LOL
The best possible ending. So much better than that season 8 shit.
I watched this video years ago and no lie when I think back on GOT, this is actually how I’ve tricked myself into remembering it ending. Thanks! This is brilliant. They need to remake it this way
This is a true fucking ending, although Jon is my favorite character his death in this would be so powerful and a great send off for a great goddamn character. Amazing video man
Just replace the scene where Jon kills Dany with Jaime killing Cersei
that would do justice to the prophecy
@@preethika3358 it would do justice for all involved. No way in the novels will Cersei Lannister get off with a quick death like in the show.
@@brady2075 yah true...i cannot wait to see hw GRRM ends Cersei
♾️ IQ
@@preethika3358 GRRM still writing the end?
Cersei and Daenerys were such powerful characters...their death felt soo weak
Hafsa Hasan I felt more for Jon when he killed Daenerys
Think of Hitler and Stalin. Hitler suicide in a ruined Berlin, Stalin a stroke, but no-one went to his aid.
They didn't even get a face off, a bitch slap or something
Let's not forget the Knight King who was built up since EP. 1 and was taken out after shitty battle strategy, luck, and a small girl jumping out of no where.
Alex Cool
I agree the last season was bad... ideas were rushed and it absolutely showed.
But...
I had no idea who the Night King was until like Season 4.
The battle plan wasn’t followed by Dani bc, well, she’s Dani.
And the little girl is about the best assassin in Westeros.
So your reasons seem a bit off for disliking it.
But as i said, definitely things to dislike.
5 years later and I finally have the ending I needed. Thank you!!
I really liked this ending. It builds to a climactic ending, it fulfills the prophecies, it gives the symbols purpose, it gives the characters a better story arch, and most of all Jamie ends the story by repeating history this time killing the new mad queen.
Amazing isn’t it
Maybe I’m salty because I’m a Jon fan, but this doesn’t really fulfill the most important prophecy in the got series which is the song of ice and fire.
He is more bastard than a king, cuz he was being raised this way. At least this is how they made him look like in S8 @@Philip_27661
I enjoyed this 10 minutes more than the entire of season 8. Well done sir.

Last 2 episodes was shit, rest was good..

They should have hired you to write the final episode. Your version made more sense. It would have been epic! 👍👍👍
Maz Duh I second this motion!!!
How do the surviving women and children, and soldiers get to Kings landing. It’s a 2 week trek on horse back with supplies.
