- The Great Potato War between @imasquidkid and @Technoblade ends here! The Skyblock Potato War was a battle that took place in @Hypixel. In Part 3, Techno tries to seal his place in history as the God of Potatoes. Can Squid make an epic comeback to steal the crown from the tater mogul himself? Will Technoblade never die? Will Minecraft change forever as these two titans battle to the, well, not death? And how will I feel about the inevitable conclusion of this carbohydrate cold war? It's hard to believe this isn't the end, but the beginning, as this is building up to Dream v. Technoblade and the incredible epic (I'm told) that is the Dream SMP. Yes. The answer is yes. Minecraft is a unique game in that there are literally limitless ways to play the game, which are only finite as your own imagination. Minecraft is a game for everyone, whether you want to build epic builds, create insane machines, fight your way to the top of the pvp world, or simply, farm potatoes. All are welcome in Minecraft.
There is technically a limit, but the community keeps shifting so fast you'll almost never find a category overfilled.
And besides, the real content is the creators themselves, not the game.

In his analysis of his duel with Dream he mentions on how Dream is trying to stress him out, but it doesn't work because Techno is always stressed.

Without that initial traction it's not going to have any organic traffic and TH-cam certiantly will not be suggesting it. Honestly mc content creators whould be better off niching down even more than that.

As for your questions, I'll start here:
Techno didn't really go dark for a year. He went dark for a few months, but everyone just chalked that up to techno being techno. Once the first potato war video came out, he started flooding out videos about SMP earth, where he single-handedly conquered the entire planet.
Squid DID private the island, but only in response to the server bug, after technoblade trolled him into thinking he'd found another way to sabotage him. Once squid realized that, he opened it back up again
Techno didn't have access to knowledge ahead of time, no. Especially because the hypixel staff were aware of this going on, and definitely would've made sure to not give any information to one side and not the other
Also, Technoblade started farming potatoes in like... August 2019

Like I said, this man is terrifying. He has amazing one liners and he is extremely dedicated to everything he puts his time into. He doesn't do anything half assed. He puts EVERYTHING into it. 38:25 it means is that the external buffs like farming crystals etc don't improve the output by yielding more potatoes but it decreases the time for minion action, so each minion is working faster. So output is not getting increased by 30% but the time to yield potatoes by minions is decreasing by 30% that means now the minions are working 30% faster. That means now you are getting 1/0.7 (70% of 1) boost

Hey YoBGS! in terms of the Dream SMP, i would recommend you watching wilburs perspective, its a good introduction to the dream smp and is where i personally started off, though keep in mind all of tommy's and wilbur's stuff are stream highlights over many weeks and some of the lore and context is missed out on so i'd recommend in your time to look at tommy's vod channel (TommyVODS) or watch some quick recap videos by other creators if you down the road wanna get knee deep in dream smp stuff, anyways, here's wilbur's first video named "i started a revolution on the Dream SMP" (hope you will consider) th-cam.com/video/zTs1uMdoVww/w-d-xo.html

for the SMP saga, I'd recommend starting with two fan animatics actually! They've become events in the fandom when they were released. "The Dream SMP War" and "The Fall". They're both by SAD-ist, and EXTREMELY well done and detailed. They act basically as trailers for the SMP, and watching them again after you know what's happened to see what you can can catch is honestly really fun. It'd be a good way to see what you've learned

That’s the thing, I don’t think I can react to this stuff until I’ve caught up. Like I just wouldn’t get most of what happens I assume

I would at least watch through Wilbur's playlist (although you can skip a few videos or watch them off camera imo, because some of them are more just goofing off on the server and they're hilarious but not necessary to catch up: the trivia quiz episode and the debate episode both had me laughing my ass off but you don't need to watch them to follow the story. Tommy has even more of those, although some might be worth reacting to at a later date if you have time.
The one I'd definitely watch from Tommy because Wilbur completely missed it is the Dream and Technoblade team up video, which is actually mainly about Tommy going to war with Sapnap but he knows how to market his videos for all it's worth lol he knows which part people are going to be excited for -- also that's the video Techno was super mad about not having any footage of his own of because he _didn't think to record it,_ the poor guy. So now we just have Tommy and Niki's perspectives. (I actually love Niki's because she had her own little sideplot negotiating with the enemy happening AND she also streamed the aftermath when they all just chill out and talk "out of character", but nobody else but me is gonna care so just watch Tommy.)
Honestly I struggle with what to recommend because sometimes it's hard to say whether it's better to watch Wilbur or Tommy's video of the same event. Maybe it's best to just alternate. There IS a difference though, and you get a really different perspective on the story from different creators. Wilbur has his own interpretation of what the story is about and Tommy has his. (And all the other creators too, tbh, but we all know Wilbur and Tommy are the main characters.) This is especially true of the post-election arc IMO, that's where Wilbur and Tommy's differences really start to add up.
With the Festival episode, no matter whether you watch Wilbur or Tommy's video, you definitely wanna watch Techno's too because you will have a completely different perspective on the event. Both literally (Techno was separated from Tommy and Wilbur for most of the event) and metaphorically (Techno has a completely different idea of what happened). And that's significant because the Festival episode really is Techno's episode. Well, Techno and Tubbo's.

An interesting note I forgot to mention about the finale. When he hit 500 million, he and squid got into a voice chat. After he was done dancing, Techno ended up going right back to farming potatoes by hand again. Followed of course by squid saying his viewers told him he was farming potatoes, and techno fervently denying it. So him saying "my fields have gone unfarmed" is bullshit lol
But doesn't he farm them now just to kinda zen out and stuff? Like I can totally see that.

Dream's SMP is nothing like this, it explores more of the role-playing side of minecraft creating a whole action movie in a game of blocks
Two Things, Techno tends to just disappear for long periods of time so no one really notices if he goes for a bit longer than normal.
Also, you should definitely react to "Tehnoblade never dies- Why Techno Beat dream." its a very in-depth analysis of why Technoblade goes to such lengths to do this stuff.

Most skyblock islands are 160x160 so some farms are EVEN MORE ludicrous than that. (as in like 2-3 full length layers of most crops) Also there is someone who has 1 billion carrot collection

There's always room for more minecraft youtubers, just have fun while you do it or else you will get burnt out quickly
That’s why I’m into minecraft honestly, I used to speedrun retro games and this will have a LOT more variety within the same game

Today is actually the 1 year anniversary of the first potato war vid.
“The Dream Smp” is a much broader subject than the potato war, so reacting to it may be difficult. I would advise reacting to highlights and summaries made by the members, and once you get to know all of the “characters” then reacting to SAD-ist’s two animations about the SMP story. SAD-ist also made an animation on the Dream vs. Technoblade duel- I would advise watching that after you do the original mr beast video. Most of the Dream SMP community is absolutely enthralled by SAD-ist and I would love to see what you think about her work!
Exactly, I think SAD-ist might have actually contributed to how popular the SMP storyline became. Obviously the server was always gonna be popular with so many popular youtubers and streamers, but would people have gotten that deep into the silly minecraft war without that epic animatic? I wonder. And I think it's clear that it also inspired the players themselves.
Oh boy, the Dream SMP is HEAVY in information and plot twists and betrayal and it's amazing

Alright making a response to your video as we go along. I'll edit it as we get to a new thing.
1. Always room for new MC youtubers. Canr promise you'll be successful but I think you got this.
2. Techno can figure out everything he does partly because he does officially have ADHD, though some of his actions do come down to all of the weird quirks and personality traits that make technoblade.
3. Yes this is a painting. Although more like the bottom of a spiral into madness. Dont worry tho, he doesnt come out of that madness and hes better for it
4. I'm pretty sure techno gets the information of an update at the same time as everyone
5. As for what you should do next, definitely the Dream SMP and maybe try the tekkit series with Sneeg, Tubbo, and Jschlatt.

I highly recommend you react to Technoblade's "Skeppy tries to troll me but I troll him first". Skeppy is another Minecraft TH-camr who is actually on the Dream SMP and he recently blew up making "trolling" videos on some of his friends. He decided to try to make one with Technoblade, who kept outplaying him and completely ruining the video, making for a really fun final product. It also shows Technoblade's 10,000 IQ, of course.
It wouldn't have mattered if they did "first one to increase potato count by X". Even if you took out the lead that he already had, he would still win by a significant margin.
Good point, I was just trying to thing of a way to reframe it so Squid could win but at the end of the day I guess he just didn't want it badly enough.
I think the reason why the rabbit pet buffed so much is because it is a multiplicative bonus as opposed to an additive since it was affecting the delay directly. Playing borderlands 2 you learn a lot about multiplicative bonuses vs additive since a lot of items and skills in the game affect your total damage in different ways. Also it's like the crit multipliers of jacobs snipers vs dahl snipers (jacobs have a naturally higher crit type B bonus of 0.30 which is multiplicative opposed to additive), It all comes down to one small detail of multiplicative multipliers increasing value exponentially. To explain with numbers i will say you have a 150% bonus to damage and you have a 8% increase to that damage through a skill you unlocked. If that bonus is additive then you would have 158% increased damage after the buff, However if that bonus is multiplicative then it is instead a 162% increase of damage. The 8% vs 12% bonus is due to additive being a flat increase to output and multiplicative is the bonus damage that is 8% of the total damage before the new skill was unlocked. So coming back to the potato minion buff, since the buff affected the delay i am assuming it applies that buff after the affects of all the other buffs that his farming crystal and the other things gave it gave a bonus based on some complex equation that calculated the bonus you gain from each buff based on the order you got them as opposed to all the other bonuses being flat bonuses. My call is a bug when creating the bonuses equation for the new pet update or a way to make it so pets are more valuable to have. But what do i know? that's just a theory based on previous gaming experience.

in regards the minecraft addon mods- no, its not easy to remove them. you see, mods need a special version of Minecraft to run on, so to remove the addon you would have to leave the server, leave the game, set your launcher to boot up a different version of Minecraft, wait for it to boot up, and log back into the game. it's slightly time consuming and rather annoying in this situation.
The world record holder for the largest MMORPG to ever be built in Minecraft to this day is still Wynncraft. And it's gotten so much larger than when they gave it that award to. I highly suggest you check out the online map overview. It's taken the team years upon years to make, and it doesn't even use mods.
Also, probably my favorite Minecraft server of all time.

15:30 Minecraft mods cant just be disabled, to do that Squid would've had to close out of Minecraft, launch a different version of Minecraft without the mod to get rid of all the axes, close Minecraft again, then launch it against in the version that does have the mod installed.
34:40 Funny you should mention that, but on I think Tommy's reaction to the Potato War he said that Techno said that he had managed to narrow down what college Squid attended to one of three. So you might've been joking about living in the crawl space but straight up if he wanted to Techno probably could've figured out where Squid lived.

in terms of the DREAM SMP, there is this youtube video called dream smp war the movie or something like that. The video has all the parts of different streams that are relevant for the first "arc" (the independence of L'Manberg). The second "arc" of the story is currently playing out as we speak.
