- Simply put, @dream and Minecraft Speedrunner Vs 4 Hunters Rematch may be the greatest not just Minecraft video but competition I've EVER seen. I've watched speedrunning, esports, not even the Superbowl can compare to this! Today, my reaction video attempts to show just how blown away I was by the brilliant gameplay, the tricks, the strategy, and the outright amazing Minecraft build power Dream possesses. Even writing this description there are no words for how phenomenal this match was. I could go on and on but I've already done that in the video.
Go check out the original here and give Dream some love! • Minecraft Speedrunner ...
You can subscribe to join The Good Times as always and comment if you want me to watch more of Dream or anything in general. If it's as good as this YOU KNOW I'll be all over it! #minecraftmanhunt #reaction #minecraft
Welcome friends and welcome welcome to all the new friends (I was so pumped I left that part out this time)! Hope you enjoy your time here. Comment something you'd like me to check out below and remember to subscribe to join The Good Times, they get better every day! On a sarcastic note: WHY DIDN'T ANY OF YOU TELL ME DREAM WAS THIS GOOD???? (Kappa). - Also, there may be spoilers in the comments so keep that in mind!
You can get ender eyes from the ‘villager’ pigmen. If you give them gold ingots there’s a chance they can drop between 1-6 ender eyes.
So, just in case you didn't notice, or didn't know this is Vanilla except the hunters have compasses that point to Dream. If he is in a different dimension, they point to the last place he was.
I had heard from the Jelly video that Dream plays Vanilla, it’s still incredible to watch him work tho
Watch all of them
@@YoBGS no, what they said is that the hunters have a compass that guide them to dream at all time, zo dream's job is actually significantly more difficult than it might seem, and also explains how they are able to find him so quick sometimes
The only thing that they have thats not necessarily in vanilla Minecraft is a compass that points towards Dream
Ahhh but that helps keep it fair
Compass is vanilla
@@hartincmajor202 But the function isn’t. It’s pointing to dream, not the spawn point
@@hartincmajor202 but not a compass that points towards a player
@@hartincmajor202 that’s why I said it wasn’t necessarily in vanilla
some considerations,
1- the video has several cuts but rarely the vision is of someone else if not of dreams.
2- Hunters have a compass capable of pointing the direction where the dream is, at the beginning of the series it did not work in Nether but now it works.
3- stop the vídeo how many times you want, the commentary makes the react a good one.
I eventually realized #1 although it was tough given the angles/inventory changed a little bug #2 is really cool since that seems like a good way to keep it fair.
Camping's probably the safest way to win as a hunter but then again, you have to be faster than a *world record holder speedrunner*
You make a terrific point, but you could have 4 people split up to get the mats for the end and, well, yeah you’d still probably lose lol
You might not need to camp the end but the entrance or the area of the end portal. Just camping the nether portal worka very well sometimes
Camping still isn't safe pretty sure they've tried that before. It didn't go really well. I can't think of an instance right now but if you give me time then ye
Once, all three hunters camped in the end, which was a mistake, as it gave Dream all the time in the world to prepare.
As for camping right next to the end portal... There is more than one stronghold
@@jacob_2435 Yeah. The hunters tried both of these strats, Dream beat them both times.
As everyone else has explained the nether and speedrun strats, I'll explain the more "Minecraft expert" strats
Since 1.14, villagers jobs depend on a block they are assigned, their "work station". If you break that block and put a different one, they will change to the appropriate job. You can break and place workstations, shuffling their jobs until you get a trade you want. For example, in this video the hunters used that strat to force a "Protection IV" enchanted book trade, and bought a lot of those books to have full protection IV (the best defense enchantment), that's why they were talking about the "librarian villager". They also mentioned something about sticks, that's because they also forced a fletcher villager, who gives you emeralds in exchange for sticks, it's pretty broken, and with those emeralds they bought the books. Villagers are broken, nowadays in a survival it's a great plan to get a lot of them and just force any enchantment, armor, etc, that you want to get and buy it in bulk basically.
The roof of the nether can be accessed using a glitch, you need to find the perfect bedrock generation on top and use a ladder and ender pearl, that's why he mined up and then examined the roof for a while before doing the strat. It's normally used to build farms that are super effective as nothing spawns up there and the farm can work on full efficiency.
Fun fact: once you are up there you can use some glitches and break some bedrock to be able to go up and down. It's great for travelling long distances without anything bothering you on the way
This comment is so just wonderful in its succinctness. That’s, like, my friend and I have build guardian farms and a fair amount of things in Minecraft. Well they build and I put blocks where I’m told, I never would’ve considered anything on this magnitude. Makes me look forward to the other videos just to see more of what I’m missing
@@YoBGS these strats you learn them by watching videos and thinking them out yourself, but regarding farms I recommend you take a look at Illmango's channel, just the titles of the videos, and you'll be amazed at what people can come up with
BTW great reaction, keep doing them blind as they are more enjoyable this way, they are reactions for a reason ;) most people will leave the video if you say you have already watched it before, so keep doing them blind, you are doing great haha and feel free to pause all you want, the more you comment the more the quality of your reaction
They used a librarian? I tought they used an armorsmith since they said they didn't do any enchanting and that they got the armor with the enchantments
@@thomasantos I am not sure but I don't believe using books and an anvil is considered enchanting. In that case I believe they meant, they did not enchant from an enchanting table...
@@thomasantos that was answering dream's question about the enchanter achievement.
He didn't let the leaves despawn, he mined just the one leaf with shears - because shears insta-mine leaves, he could do it without needing to stop and still make sure he gets at least one of them in the trap.
That is so smart. I have nothing else to say other than wow
Also if a tnt minecart falls and takes fall damage, it explodes immediately.
The biggest thing here is time, there’s no time for Dream to make a house, and since Dream is a speed runner, the hunters can’t take their time mining to get full diamond or Dream can kill the dragon before they even get all the armor. The guides you seem to be following are very out of date, having some iron armor before going to nether is more common for these players than full diamond armor, go watch the other man hunts, they showcase other strategies that were used to deal with hunters and runner. Both sides show amazing things in those videos.
I think he said that as a sarcistic joke lmao
He said he watched the "beating minecraft how mojang intended" video before this.
31:25 Not sure if they bring this up later, but Dream got the Ender Pearls from trading with the "Piglins" - the pig villagers, as you described them. If you throw something golden at them, they'll pick it up, look at it, and then eventually throw something back, with one of the things they can throw back being Ender Pearls.
You got a few things wrong in this video, so here's a list and answers!
1- The best option for speedrunning would be not building a house, as it takes time and mobs aren't really a problem.
2- He didn't chop down the tree so the leaves would decay. He didn't break the tree and broke the leaf below the TNT cart.
3- You cannot light TNT with a torch or by hitting it. You can light it with activated redstone and fire.
4- He was indeed making false paths, You were right with this one! :)
5- Lava appears everywhere in the nether, so it would be a problem still. But you can patch it up fairly easily.
6- Gold is useful for dream for 3 reasons. Bartering with piglins, Avoiding piglins, and you guessed it! Gapples.
7- Dream got the enderpearls in the nether from the piglins!
8- They do not upload their gameplay sadly, I wish they did too!
9- They got the protection from the villagers they found in the overworld, I think you already knew this one though.
10- I'm pretty sure for the MLG water you can just spam click, I've never thought it was that hard before but it may just be me.
11- He got onto the roof of the nether using a glitch, The only way to escape from the roof is a portal, hacking, using a glitch, creative mode, or dying.
12- The portal that was supposed to connect to the roof portal didn't and connected to the maze portal instead because the roof portal was broken and the maze portal was the closest one.
13- They did have a way to track them, Every hunter got a compass that points to Dream's location. If he went into a different dimension it would lead them to the last place he was, The portal.
14- He got the beds from the string from the spider spawner, Which can be made into wool.
15- If all the crystals aren't broken the dragon can regenerate health, but if you do enough damage fast enough it will die!
Hopefully this solved all your questions, Thanks for reading!
I see you attended the Dream school of Big Brainery. I appreciate all of the context since it would’ve bugged me not being sure if I saw what I thought I saw. Incidentally I probably missed some mega mind strats because I just didn’t catch them. Still thought I got partial credit in more of those than I was expecting so I take that as a win! Lol
@@YoBGS Indeed I got a big brain PHD lol, Good that this helped you and if you need anything else answered ill help.
For number 11, you can break bedrock involving tnt, a trapdoor, obsidian, and a piston. It's a little janky though
Spam clicking mlg water can cause a timing issue where you place the water but dont stop your decent or you can miss the clicking window entirely due to the right click cooldown
TNT can be lit using flint and steel too
Reactions/ Helping w Questions :)
(Sorry, it's a long read, but i hope it helps?)
3:30 The problem with them going to hunt for diamonds or netherite is that Dream is real pro at speedrunning the game. If they aren't on top of him and keeping him from getting things done, Dream could probably beat the game before they could collect enough diamonds for 4 people and the enderpearls and the blazerods. It's a huge risk for them to waste time like that, I think.
5:35 Haha cobblestone crafting table... good memes
15:03 He's actually never forgotten flint before, so that was a pretty big setback on him, especially considering the chase that followed
24:26 Your nametag doesn't appear unless you un-crouch. He could just mine away and his nametag wouldn't appear, but they would've heard him breaking the blocks and known where he was.
30:10 and 30:43 Hoglin and Piglin respectively! (Hoglins do a lot of damage and Piglins attack u if u aren't wearing gold armor, or if u mine gold in the nether. You can also trade gold ingots with them for a wide variety of (mostly) nether related items, most importantly: enderpearls!)
33:00 gonna be honest with you... He'd probably get out of it. Somehow. TNT takes a little while to blow up, so he could just run to the water and swim down before the tnt even blows up. If the portal wasn't next to water... maybe not. That might get him. Although, he could MLG water bucket it if the tnt launches him.
33:47 Sadly, they do not upload their pov (I think it would be so interesting though!)
36:05 uhh idk the pixel window, but learning to do it isn't all that hard, at least it wasnt for me, u just gotta spam click. I pretty much got it down in like 3 days,,, i still make some mistakes though and I wouldn't do it off a big jump just yet.
39:35 Librarian Villagers are in the overworld! If you put a Lectern down near a normal villager, they can sometimes obtain special trades, often relating to books of enchantment, which is how the Hunters got the prot. IV armor!
42:00 Welcome to the Nether Roof, this is about to get INSANE :))))
46:45 That's actually a,,, broken portal? Abandoned portal? Ruined portal? Idk something along those lines, but yeah, they naturally spawn in the game! The chests usually have enchanted golden armor, flint and steel, and some other little items
51:00 The Hunters have a compass that Dream or George (idk which) coded specifically to point to Dream's character, since it would be impossible to find him if they lost track of him in an infinite world like MC. So, they don't actually have to find the stronghold or make any nether portals, they just have to follow the compass. And if u look at the chat, they've already found the stronghold ("Eye Spy" achievement) by the time Dream has started bowing the crystals!
To be completely honest, I think the other v4 and the entire v3 series is more intense than this one! (Also, you should probably watch the v3 series in order. You actually have to if u don't want spoilers lol, they talk about previous tricks they used) Although the Nether Roof vs prot IV enchant thing was freaking INSANE, I'd say that as a whole the other episodes are more insane :P (No hate because obviously these are all epic as hell)
(I totally wanna see u react to them all, if u can't tell :P)
So I get up crazy early for my actual job but I’m totally going through this tomorrow to pair the advice up with my different ramblings because this is such a cool and well thought out post I wanna make sure I take the time to appreciate each of the comments!
I’m glad you liked my take on this, I wasn’t sure heading in if I’d have much to contribute but man was I wrong!
"You can hit TNT and it explodes" That hasn't been true anymore for about 7 or 8 years now.
Yeah the simple days of Minecraft when air was blocks
This is one of the most entertaining Minecraft series in years, you should definitely react to the whole thing. Also I do think blind reactions would be best.
I'm 1000% game. The hard part is not spoiling them all for myself because I legit wanted to binge the whole channel!
@@YoBGS maybe a Dream Reactathon?
Actually, to begin with it was just Dream vs George a few times before moving onto vs 2 Hunters. Definitely more light-hearted and a lot less stressful than the current Manhunt videos, but still fun.
Haha it reminds me of when you and your friend first get a new game and you’re having fun learning all the moves and stuff but at some point it flips over and it’s serious time from then out
Personally I always root for dream, but here's the thing about that, it's very easy to root for someone when you are watching through their POV.
Also you would not believe some of the strategies they come up with. Without spoiling much, that "camping in the end strategy was done in one of the 3 hunter videos.
I mean, to beat Dream I feel like you’d have to essentially think of a way to play the game nobody has ever thought of before
@@YoBGS I'm trying to remember what the most insane strategy was, but it's difficult, I often forget which video is which, at least with the 3 hunter vids.
Also I recommend you watch his death swap videos, where him and George try and set up traps to kill the other, but every 5 minutes they swap locations. That had some fun moments, especially the second one.
@@supahkoopah2919 fishing rod or frost walker boots... pick one
Spoilers!
They did camp the end. They went through and waited next to the spawn platform for him. Dream farmed up tons of TNT (as he could tell by the achievements that they had entered the end) and put it through the portal, killing them all.
Also the lack of commentary is him focusing because, as you can imagine, being this good takes focus.
Ohhhhh see I legit didn’t know that at the time lol. I mean like go to the end and encase the platform in obsidian or something bonkers
@@YoBGS True, true. Again, takes time though and Dream is trained to speedrun and beat the game as fast as possible. The only reason he takes so long is because they're stopping him. If they went to mine obsidian and construct a mega fortress to spawnkill Dream, he'd be there before they were ready. They'd have to do the same he does to get there anyway, except they don't speedrun. Plus, no content XD.
@@YoBGS With enough luck and no hunters following him dream can finish minecraft in 20-30min
The hunters has already camped the End but lost...Wait what?Definitely did not spoil anything!
I mean, that was the first strat that came to mind so I don’t consider it a spoiler
@@YoBGS Oh by the way,the hunters has a compass on where Dream is and George is colorblind.Piglins are the ones who trade and love gold.If you wear gold they come in peace. The pumba looking things are hoglins and they are always aggresive.Piglins trade ender pearls but the way they trade is give gold, give an item out of a bunch of items.
Also the hunters could of won but the ender dragon backfired and launch them to the air.
Wait they camped the end I don't remember that happening 🤔
@@blue-cloud-studios I mean, he did say it wasnt a spoiler
I feel conflicted, On one hand, I'm happy that you reacted to this but on the other, I feel like you missed out on a lot of the 'firsts' that these guys had while improving.
That’s fair. Although to be honest if I go back and watch those which I intend to, I’ll probably experience them in earnest bc most of what I was enjoying I think was some of the more basic tech. I assure you my mind is capable of being blown further
"You can punch tnt and it'll explode" good lord man you really havent done anything minecraft related in a long time- stuff changed in like 1.6, we're a few updates ahead of that now XD
But I’ve played a ton! I just tend to do big builds and like my own thing, I haven’t played it to beat it in a looong time
@@YoBGS I was the same, only building in the game. I recently got back into survival after playing through with my friends about a year ago, and it's a lot of fun actually building with limitations, IMO. I get a lot more creative and often end up with cooler results.
What amazes me of Dream is that he doesn't only is an speed-runner that knows every single little mechanic and technique on Minecraft, but his strategies are insane, like this man's ability to improvise and plan ahead of time is crazy.
His reddit helps, he does get a lot of tricks from reddit lol.
He tried to create a cobblestone crafting table
He tried to create a cobblestone crafting table
Everyone has already pointed out things, but one thing I haven't seen pointed out yet is that all players and us can keep track of progress via the advancements (typing at 22:42 so I don't know if you caught it yet). For instance, Dream gets an advancement if he gets armor & weapons, lava or a Nether Portal goes to the nether, finds a fortress, finds a stronghold, gets to the end so the Hunters can keep track of how far Dream is into the run. Conversely, Dream can keep track of what armaments the Hunters are getting and how close to him they are based on their advancements. All advancements appear in the bottom left corner.
Some Basic Advancements that will pop up a lot in these videos:
[Aquireing Hardware] = Smelted Iron
[DIAMONDS!!] = Got Diamonds
[Enchanter] = Enchanted an Item
[Hot Stuff] = Got Lava
[We Need to go Deeperr] = Entered the Nether
[A Terrible Fortress] = Entered a Nether Fortress
[Into Fire] = Got a Blaze Rod
[Eye Spy] = Entered a Stronghold
[The End?] = Enter End Portal
[Free the End] = Killed Ender Dragon
I caught that like WAAAAAY at the end when they all make it into the nether. I saw them all have achievements pop and was like "oohhhhh wasn't thinking about that."
@@YoBGS also, the reason they didn't get [Enchanter] here was because they used enchanted books and not an enchantment table
Just a reminder, the whole series is quite a bit long, if you’re going for the whole thing you might wanna watch some episodes in your free time
Hmmm to go in blind or not to go in blind that is the question
@@YoBGS there isnt any tipe of lore soo, go for it

@@YoBGS Moyang is indeed the proper pronunciation for that word according to the company.
Mo -jang is probably more popular, but Mo-yang is the proper pronunciation
The nether villager is called a piglin it will give you random things including ender eyes or whatever if you give them gold and if you wear at least one piece of gold armor it won't attack you unless you mind nether gold ore near it
See I need to go on about a 20 hour Minecraft binge and get up to speed on all this new stuff
@@YoBGS or just go to the wiki.
They don't barter eyes of ender. They barter ender pearls. That's where he got all those pearls from in the nether. Also they will attack you if u, open a chest, open a shulker box, hit one, or mine gold in front of them.
@@izzytheartist4710 But not if you interact with a hopper, so you could just hopper items out of chests, then break the hopper. Then, you can get the loot *and* not anger the Piglins.

That’s fair, I mean I don’t have anything to compare it to but it blew my mind!
@@YoBGS I actually think it was the best one. It might just be because it is most recent one of them
@@sarahkolk1961 The nether roof strat itself was a VERY high point and it carried hype for the entire video tbh. I liked the fact that dream was a lot more sneaky this time, it's a step up from his usual method of doing things. (Personally i loved the sneak, and that made for one of my favorite videos)
@@kawaiidouchebag4176 Yeah, this was less "bluff and play aggressively to become the hunter" and more "holy fuck they're gonna kill me on sight gotta sneak around".

@@deadchannel3274 Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely keep that in mind!
Also netherite is super rare so by the time they got it dream would probably be killing the dragon
@@alextheconfuddled8983 you can get some netherite gear in bastions but it's very rare and I think they have a chance of containing ancient debris
Some of the biggest brain strats are in recent hunts like the last 4 hunters and the past couple of 3 hunters. Most involve mind games as they are pretty close and know when Dream is up to something. BadBoyHalo metioned that Dream may have made a trap in the nether because he always does that. It bought him the time he needed to mine that obsidian and since they used the portal, it regenerated the blocks therefore hiding the fact that he mined it. The whole series is a fun watch!
I love when the meta starts to set in and they’re breaking out the mind games
"They [the hunters] could always just farm up a ton of materials and meet him in the end."
Well, you say that...
See people have indicated and I realized too, apparently Dream can just steamroll before they could even get there. I hadn’t thought of that
They all have compasses (except Dream) so they can track him wherever he is, and where his portal is if he is in another dimension. They don’t have direct coordinates though, just a rough direction.
Ohhhhhhhh didn’t know it showed the portal as well. That’s legit!
@@YoBGS Well, the compass *actually* points to the location that Dream was last at. If he goes to another dimension, then the place that he was last at would be the portal. Just to clarify things a bit.
dream got the pearls trading with the piglins, in 1.16 getting pearls has been significantly changed. piglins can drop 2-8 pearls per.
Oh that’s really cool! Never woulda guessed piglin
YoBGS haha yeah they switched up the name on us :)
Note: They all have compasses that are tracking Dream
Gooooot it that makes perfect sense!
@YoBGS However, in the older manhunt videos, the compass didn’t work in the nether(it does now though).
I'd like it if you could watch SmallAnt's playthrough of Pokemon Platinum Without Taking Any Damage. You'd be familiar with him from the pencil sharpening record.
I love this hunter verses speedrunner series. Those hunters are just going nuts lol
I think you’re gonna like Wednesday’s video. I had a really good idea based on that suggestion
@@YoBGS Tell me what it issssss
In my oponion the hunters dont get enough recognition, specially bad.
He do be guiding the other through the confusion and making the strategy most of the time, even if it falls short to the 99999 IQ dream moments
@@YoBGS If you're gunna do that video, then you should also watch gamechamp3000's video where he does the same, but on pokemon Blue. It is insane!
@@immakarma2516 Yeah, Bad is honestly the top hunter when it comes to leading the group, although Sapnap is really good at PvP.
A fun strategy he’s never really tried but would be fun to see would be “swapping skins” he’s tried using one of the hunters own skins to confuse them but they just knew from the start to pay attention.
To actually switch skins you’d need to log out but Minecraft skins these days have two layers to them, a base/default layer, and an “Armor” layer.
The armor layer gets removed when you have any actual armor on, but if you don’t have armor it’s over and covering the “base” layer.
It’s also something you can toggle on and off in your settings without needing to log out or spend much time at all.
So dream could set up a skin where the top armor layer is his own skin, but the bottom layer is one of the hunter’s skins.
That way he starts with them thinking he’s using his normal skin, but as soon as he gets away he can turn the armor layer off and disguise himself as whoever’s skin he decided to use.
Also to quickly respond to your comment on “wow those are impressive drop strats” when he was running down the ravine wall and placing blocks, the first video of Dreams I ever saw had a specific clip that made me instantly subscribe to his channel.
He was running from the hunters in the nether (the old pre-update nether) and came across a dead end because he ended up on what was effectively a cliff over lava.
However there was a wall next to him so he ran along the wall, which was over lava, by placing gravel blocks and jumping off of them before gravity kicked in and made them fall.
It let him cross the gap and naturally made it impossible for the others to follow him.
Okay, How does someone even THINK of that strat, let alone have it work. I'm convinced Dream is the Jack Sparrow of Minecraft. Pulling strats out of thin air that, by all logic, shouldn't work but somehow do!
@@YoBGS he does reaserch strats usually on reddit but it's still impressive to be able to remember the strats while in the moment

The nether hippo is called a hoglin it's basically a wart hog
Oh that’s really cool. Pigmen and warthogs
@@YoBGS and Piglin
@@YoBGS Hoglins do a lot of damage, and throw you in the air a bit I think, and their hit box is small so even farming them with a block opening can be dangerous
@@SamA-hz8ev Those sound.... pretty terrible. Like cave spider levels of terrible.
@@YoBGS Unfortunately, they're the only food source in the Nether besides mushrooms (and I guess rotten flesh if you attack zombie piglins), so going after them is often the only viable strategy if you need food.
Occasionally, you'll get lucky enough and you'll see a sort of piglin hunting party going after one. After they kill it, they dance in celebration. And baby piglins can ride on baby hoglins' backs. It's adorable.
For a point of reference: axes disable shields, using shields and placing blocks uses the same mouse click (meaning you might rapidly use your shield instead of placing blocks and falling to your death), swimming near dolphins gives you a speed boost faster than boats when in water, and nether fortresses (where there are blaze spawners) are really hard to find now.
Haven’t watched the whole video yet so might add more!
Edit: Nether hippo is now what I’ll call the hoglin. Also, I too, am a zombie pigman right now.
The villagers all have different jobs and you can manipulate their environment to change that. For instance you can pop down a fletching table and the villagers next to it will become fletchers, and you can trade sticks with them for emeralds. What the muffinteers did was find librarian villagers and got books of enchanting off of them. They used these books to get op armor and the kicker is they did it sneakily. Since you only get the enchanting achievement from using an enchantment table (I believe), leaving Dream none the wiser. The guys walking around in the nether are piglins. They are passive to you as long as you wear at least 1 piece of gold armor, you don’t mine gold around them, and you don’t attack them. You can trade gold ingots with them for a variety of items, including ender pearls which are the most important to the speed run.
They wouldn’t also have to find the stronghold because their one advantage is a compass that tracks Dream at all times.
Reminder: It’s never over till it’s over. The End is just the beginning.
Also! Dream usually has captions on. This helps with identifying if anything that makes sound is close. Endermen teleporting, player footsteps, creeper’s hissing, flowing water or still lava. That sort of thing. Also from experience I can tell you that digging straight down is a lot less scary with them on! Also also! You may notice Dream position himself next to the dragon because it’s head takes more damage than the rest of its body!
Okay to help explain somethings as you havent played MC in a while lol. Love your vids and hope you see this:
1. He was in a desert and that was either the easiest to go to or the way he decided to go for whatever reason. Who knows really.
2. He cuts a lot in videos and so if you see him like "warp" that's just a cut.
3. Probably a joke but there's no time build houses and stuff. Just kill the ender dragon before he dies only goal.
4. The minecraft w/TNT. He had shears or an axe and simply broke the leaf block to make it drop down instantly. It's too random to have it just drop when the leaves despawn.
5. TNT only ignites with redstone, button, lever or fire (ie. lava which will take a while or flint n steel)
6. Mining doesnt show nametag. Only letting go of the shift key will do that or if you open something. But he'd be noticed cause of the sound of breaking blocks
7. So listening to commentary is key. The hunters traded with the villagers to get fully enchanted protection 4 gear which means Dream literally does nothing to them with weapon damage.
8. So Dream grabbed the gold to trade with Piglins I think they're called. Pig Villagers. Trading has a smallish chance for a good amount of enderpearls. That's how he got them.
8. The trick he used to get up to the top of the nether is an old one. You can glitch to the top and it's interesting but as he says "nothing spawns".
Thank you so much for taking the time to clear things up for this Minecraft old boy! I just hope I'm not making you yell at your computer too much. I figure knowing all this I'm gonna be able to steamroll my buddies next time we play!
@@YoBGS nah it was interesting you knew the triangulation for enderpearls. I still dont understand that. Dream is amazing to watch in these.
A couple of them you need to watch. The early ones are not as good but they can be fun to watch
He usually goes into deserts or savannas because I guess it's easier to speedrun with those biomes. Deserts have the temples and savannas have villages, which would both be ideal.
3:30 "They can camp him in the end right?"
Yea... they already tried that, check the Vs 3 Hunters one.
Cant wait to watch that one
33:36 "They made it out."
Well they did, but they didn't. They respawned in the Overworld when dream killed them, because they didn't have a respawn anchor.
Ohhhhh I thought they had figured out a way to get back
Anwsers for you:
dropping down into a ravine with blocks isnt that hard
Water clutch is easier or harder depending on how far you fall
Dream traded with the piglins (pig villagers) to get them to drop ender pearls
The hunters have a compass pointing to Dream, so they always have a general idea of where dream is
The ender dragon does not need all of the crystals broken, or else one cycling the dragon wouldn't exist.
(Killing the dragon in one go as it comes to the center of the end)
Edit: getting to the top of the nether is easy with the right materials, in a minecraft manhunt however, we weren't expecting him to go there in the first place. Also, breaking bedrock is far harder and requires more glitchy methods
I’m learning so much tonight, haha. Thanks a million for the info
@@YoBGS oh im still editing this comment lmao
Fun fact: In the final 3 Hunters video, they did in fact camp him out in the end, but since they had no way out of the end, Dream just went and made a bunch of TNT and sent it through the portal, killing all three of them and letting him win with ease.
All I saw was “in the final 3 hunters video” and didnt read bc I’m trying to stay spoiler free but I’m marking this to come back to later lol
It was kind of amusing that the point of the 1v1 seemed to go over your head lol
You were expressing concern that Sapnap was getting himself killed and was about to lose his armor to Dream,
but the point was that Dream couldn't kill Sapnap no matter how many times he struck him.
That's why they were like "you're so weak, Dream!" and taunting him as he ran away.
Sapnap and the gang had protection enchantments that were making Dream only deal 1.5 hearts of damage for each strike, which is an insane reduction.
It was being shown to Dream that he couldn't beat them in direct combat, to psychologically terrify him.
Unfortunately for them, he had the pearls to put distance between them, then he set up the portal trap.
Trapping them on the roof doomed them to lose their overpowered armor. Such a brilliant counter move.
Ahhhh yeah you're right, I missed the level of enchantment that they had heading into the fight. But even then, given Dream's ability to get out of tight spots it's not outside the realm of possibility that they were luring him into a bigger trap
I love how uncultured he is in the ways of Minecraft😂
Dude, I'm SO cultured in minecraft. I can fish like hell wouldn't have it! Just, ya know, when it comes to clipping out of the nether... not so much!
Maybe he doesn’t know as much about 1.16
He called torches candles.
41:50 for anyone that is unsure, this is a probably well forgotten trick, its a glitch that has been used well before the better together update (bedrock) and has been used as a "extra land" for some people, I used it to make a huge storage system, back on the xbox 360, and it was fun. I completely forgot about it. (Some people already know about it, but I am saying this for all the uneducated people.)
Edit: Completely forgot to add the explanation behind it. Basically using an ender, (how it can sometimes glitch you into blocks at some points) you go to the highest point of the nether that you can find, place a ladder so you can be flush with the ceiling, and throwing an ender pearl will glitch you through the block. There is a way to use redstone to break the bedrock, but since bad and them didnt have any, they did have to resort to killing.
WAIT. IS THAT WHY DREAM HAD REDSTONE??? I had been wondering for awhile why he had "useless" items and now I know... He probably had it in case they broke the portal and tried to trap him.
@@YoBGS the amount he had wouldn't be enough i'm pretty sure. Though there could have been discovered a cheaper way to break bedrock, minecraft technicians are pretty insane.
I hadn’t notice before- but when the hunters were stuck on the nether roof, Antfrost and George teamed up of Sapnap and Sapnap still killed Antfrost. Like •-• wow Sap. 2v1?
Didn’t sap have the powerup of the 1v1 with dream? Maybe Sap is part Saiyan and he gets stronger every time he solo duels Dream?
To clarify a manhunt mechanic.
They made it so a compass will point to Dream, or his last location in that dimension. That’s how the hunters could always find his general location when he was in tunnels, and how they found the end after he’d gone in.
To clarify some Minecraft mechanics.
When Dream is hiding and not mining, it’s not that mining would make him un-shift, it’s that they’d hear the sound of the blocks breaking.
Dream gets the ender eyes from the pig villagers (Piglins is the actual name) they give random things when given gold and one of those things is ender pearls. That’s the fastest way to get pearls in the latest version.
The librarian villager is a specific type of normal over world villager. They sell enchanted books which the hunters used with an anvil to get enchanted gear without ever actually enchanting. This is why Dream was so surprised because he would have seen them get the achievement if they got enchanted gear the normal way.
When the hunters don’t immediately follow Dream in at like 40minutes in its not that they can’t it’s just that they’re afraid of a trap. If you have a portal on one end and there isn’t a complete one on the other side then a new one will be generated. Dream breaking that portal didn’t prevent them from coming through.
At 46:50 ish that’s not actually their portal. “Ruined portals” spawn in the over world as of the nether update. They’re randomly generated and have some loot in chests around them, which is why Dream stopped to check it quickly.
At 48mins he actually gets his air back through bubble columns. That got added a few updates back with the general ocean update. The bubbles pull you down or push you up and give you air back.
At 54 mins when he pops up at the center it seems like he was using the coordinates, which is why he had his f3 screen open. If he’d walked over the center earlier and remembered the coordinates then he’d have been able to find his way back to those coordinates while underground.
Just to be clear, I’m correcting all these confusions not to be critical, but more because I think it’s even more fun when you totally understand what’s going on and I feel compelled to share the info.
Oh yeah, well and what I'm saying isn't from a point of WANTING to be ignorant, but like you don't know what you don't know until it's staring you in the face. And since I don't play competitively it's just situations I've never run across
“They could just get full diamond/netherite and wait in the end”
To get one full set on netherite would probably take hours they would need four sets Plus the base diamond sets
Dream speed runs random seed Minecraft often and has held the world record multiple times
The reason man hunt video are longer than 5 minutes when edited down is because there’s hunter’s after him at all times
Yeah it seems like the hunters have a much harder task than any of the "just do X" strats I can come up with.
If you're goingto make more of these i suggest you do it in chronological order
That's the plan, people seem to be saying the vs 2 Hunters is the one where I should start chronologically.
If you look closely, you'll notice that dream is an actual damn genius with exponentially increasing IQ
That portal strat in the Nether was insane!
It's a day later and I still can't even!
Dang I was late on this one!
Again
Haha only by a couple minutes
@@YoBGS I'll get em next time
@@8BallYarn lol hello again
@@Sanity1532 yo
You missed a lot of the hunter's plans when you talked over them in your excitement! Hahaha
fun fact: Dream FOund the pillar at the end because it at 0,0,0 coords
That makes.... SO MUCH SENSE! Thank you for that.
Ah thiswas very fun! Really fun to see your live-reactions like this. I hope you'll be doing a lot of Dream's older videos too. This one is honestly one of my less favorites XP
As for some of the stuff:
-The pigman trade enderpearls for gold
-Dream mined spiderwebs before going into the End because they drop string, which you can craft into wool to make beds.
-The Matrix-like menu you see Dream pop up a lot is build into the game. It gives info like "current biome you're in", "light level of the block you're standing on", framerate and CPU-usage, and most importantly for Dream: coordinates.
-Also, the compass the hunters use to track Dream down works in the Overworld and Nether, but not in the End, hence why they couldn't find him there.
Ahhhhh thank makes sense. I'm amazed how well-balanced their game is.
4 hunter with diamond
Dream:*laughs on above nether portal glitch
Diamonds mean nothing when Dream is outside the Matrix haha
YoBGS, just so you know, the way he got his breath back underwater was because of the bubbles from the magma blocks. you can regain breath that way
Nice! Didn't realize magma blocks were a thing but that's really cool!
Where to START? I'd say vs two hunters. Then you go to 1, and then 3. But now that you've done 4... you could still do 2 hunters, 1, and then 3. Itd be like FNAF lore over here
Haha I'm loving it, I was just watching some FNAF so I get the reference
You were wondering about how he got the ender pearls and why he found them lying around:
You can give those Piglins in the nether gold and they give you an item of their choice. One of those items are ender pearls. Others include obsidian, soul sand, crying obsidian, glowstone and many more.
But it's random which item they give you each time you give them a gold ingot.
That makes a lot of sense! My hindsight guess was that like Pigmen may kill Endermen and that's where they got dropped from but I'm glad I know for sure
@@YoBGS you are welcome.
Hi ho bro, just wanted to let you know that dream started with 1 hunter not 2.
Thanks, I kinda tripped on my words bc he's been so recommended I couldn't remember the earliest one. Just more for me to check out!
Indeed yeah. When I found out there were loads I stopped everything to binge through them.
Having watched this when it premiered, I can say it was quite funny seeing you try to guess what Dream's gonna do when he's thinking much smarter instead; especially when there's so much added and changed in Minecraft now.. Anyways, noticed you asking a bunch of questions and stuff and I thought I'd answer a few of them as they come up. I haven't read some of the other comments though so I might just be a broken record with this.
-The leaves didn't despawn. He used shears, which harvest leaves pretty much immediately in one click.
-The hunters have compasses that tracks Dream's location. It doesn't show the coordinates, but it shows the direction he's in.
-The ender pearls came from trading with the Piglins (the pigmen villagers; pigmen are now called zombified piglins; also the nether boars are called hoglins).
-Similar to zombified pigmen, all surrounding piglins will get mad if you attack one. They also will attack you if you aren't wearing a piece of gold armor.
-They got enchanted armor by trading with armorsmith villagers, and then combined armor pieces to level up their enchantments.
-The nether update added "Ruined portals" in the overworld, which are crude versions of regular nether portals except with a chest and a bunch of nether blocks - including crying obsidian, which don't count as regular obsidian; which prevents the ruined portal from being lit.
-The 1.13 aquatic update added sea vents, made with either magma or soul sand under water source blocks, which either pull you down or push you up as well as restore your breath meter.
-He crafted the beds before he went into the end. That's why he did some string farming at the webs. 4 string can be crafted into a single block of wool.
-His mining to the center was intended. That's why he had his F3 menu open, which shows your block coordinates. He did in fact count.
Some bonus stuff that you never asked about.
-If you put a bed on the top of the bedrock pillar in the end, the dragon is blocked from "landing" there, and so it technically never starts that phase of the fight.
-Dream's friend, George, is red-green colourblind, so Dream's skin looks yellow to him. He does have colour-blind glasses, but there's no saying that he's using them here.
-Dream and his friends are playing using a Spigot launcher. There are some bugs that can occur in Spigot, such as beds not doing as much damage to the ender dragon.
-Dream started out basically by being a troller who'd often use elaborate traps and such, so he has an amazing understanding of game mechanics. You'd also probably know he's a speedrunner who has been a contender for the 1st place random seed speedrun world records in 1.15 and 1.16 (which are considered different categories thanks to the Nether Update affecting speedrunning), and has held the #1 spot for roughly 4 months for the 1.15 category.
Thank you so much, I've legit learned so much about MC today even though I thought I was pretty well-versed haha. I'm sure he's playing 5-D chess while I'm playing checkers but it's still fun to throw stuff out there even if it won't work. As for the info, a lot of those things especially about the hunters and their OS stuff I had never heard before. I can't wait to keep checking these out and hopefully bring everyone on the journey of me actually learning Minecraft!
33:00 I'm 90% sure that both sides are intentionally "holding back" in order to make the whole thing (not just the video) more fun.
You know, like friends do when playing videogames like this.
If dream was trying really hard to win, he wouldn't have mentioned coming out of the nether, and he definitely wouldn't have mentioned the compass, as that tells the hunters where he's located at.
Also, the hunters could've easily won in the desert temple by doing a berserker-style suicide rush.
Not complaining, though, as this just makes these stories more fun
Oh 100% - I liken it in some ways to pro wrestling. Like if all they did was try and be a jerk and win it wouldn't be fun to watch but the ways they keep it interesting are so smooth that you don't realize them in the moment.
Actually if you didn't know dream does another take whenever he is dead in the first few minutes because let's be honest watching dream die five minutes into the video wouldn't be entertaining. Also dream intentionally baited the hunters to trap them in the nether unless you're talking about a different part of the video
MLG Water is difficult to a LOT ppl but to ppl like dream its really easy.
*Hehe im still here after jaiden's video*
Appreciate that so much!
Sometimes they do get to the end first.
One time they managed to kill Dream, was that they setup a lava bath surrounding the end platform, which Dream didn’t realize was there because he killed 2 out of the 3 of them before entering the end portal. And the last person setup the trap.
The next time they got there ahead of him, Dream had fire resistance potions in case they did something like that again. They decided not to do it this time because they understood that he would make countermeasures, so they boxed the platform in and the waited around the platform in a kill box type arrangement.
Dream proceeded to send 14 blocks of tnt into the portal, causing the blocks the hunters were standing on to blow up, and made them fall into the void.
In hindsight, they could have stood with the wall against them instead of with the void at their backs, but the drawback of that is that Dream could very reasonably have jumped into the void and enderpearled back to safety.
It’s not like Dream always is a dominant force in these manhunts. There are a ton of rounds where he dies early, but he chooses not to upload those because he doesn’t find them as exciting as the ones where he barely makes it out alive, which are usually due to insane luck like that golden Apple tnt, or some strat he expertly planned out beforehand like the netherportal on the roof of the nether.
That’s not saying that he isn’t skilled though, it’s just a lot that happens behind the scenes.
*asks about where he's gonna build his house*
we don't do that here pal
Haha funny to see how far I’ve come
If I'm a hunter, I will use kamikaze strat gather a lot of wools and woods to create a lot of beds. When Dream go inside the portal, I will place a bed near the portal to set spawn and place a chest to put all the beds. Then, I will go to the nether with some beds and track Dream. When I find Dream, I will go near him and explode the bed at him. If I die and fail to kill Dream with the beds, I will spawn at the bed that I place near the portal and pick some beds that I put in the chest that I place near the portal. Then, I will go back to the nether and do it again. Sorry for my very bad English.
They really do almost need a chaotic evil hunter that will just stalk dream endlessly but the thing is if you don't have armor he'd probably be able to just kill them outright.
@@YoBGS Yeah the hunters are kinda stupid I just realise the hunters are becoming more and more stupid after Dream vs 3 hunters grand finale
@@Steve-ni4nt I think it's kinda meta honestly, like they're trying to read Dream's mind and when they guess wrong they're way out of position where if they just played they may do better.
@@YoBGS yeah maybe. I actually don't care who win I just want to see what Dream does and the hunters do.
He broke the leaves so the minecart would fall and explode
I missed the shear move it was so fast
My friends and I tried to recreate this. It usually ended within the first 5 minutes with the hunters winning. The one person that was better than everyone else easily won.
That's why like, not only is the gameplay incredible, but the fact that it's competitive is remarkable. I wonder if they ever have one they didn't post where Dream mis-clicks and gets crushed lol
Dang 13 minutes late
Nah you’re right on time!
@@YoBGS you called the hoglin "manpig" lol
My strategy for taking Dream out? Charge him when he says "Oh, ___! Come here!" No matter what he has, or I have, that's the cue to attack!
the reason he was breaking the dead bushes was (i think) so he gets sticks and could make weapons easier
I love the way the nether bricks sound when they break. Minecraft ASMR but it's just someone mining a fortress.
Edit: the scene where they all had Prot4 and Dream was freaking out bc he didn't know what to do made me really sad bc Dream always has a plan in these manhunts and I thought he was gonna just let them kill him until I checked the video time and saw that there was 30 minutes or so left lmao
I feel the same way about snow blocks. So satisfying! And that's why I asked if it was best 2 of 3, I thought maybe they got him really quick and they ran it back.
Dream pulls off stuff even minecraft veterans don't know existed so watching the whole series will definitely be worth your time
Thank you, this makes me feel less dumb lol! I've played for years I just, ya know, don't play like this
34:58 can u not understand that they have PROT 4 so dream CAN'T kill them that's why they were so confident in 1v1 him
I've got that now but in the moment I didn't see them pick up Prot IV
I mean, they blew themselves up, Dream didn't do anything besides going gung-ho at them.
It's like sometimes the hunters just manage to tie all their shoes together and let Dream slip away lol
This is a great reaction video, you're actually constantly REACTING instead of just staring blankly at the screen.
I'm not handsome or young enough to just stare at the screen so I gotta come with something different lol
You should watch the rest of the manhunts! They are all as good and it will be very fun for you to react to them!
I'm totally game! The hard part is not just spamming them at y'all every day lol
Dude I’d love to watch you stream you playing Minecraft on TH-cam. We’d be able to help you and you’d get good content
So I have a Twitch, it's actually YoBGS too. I just haven't had a ton of time to stream since I've been all aboard with growing here, but I am absolutely thinking about running Minecraft in the future.
Also TNT doesn't explode by punching anymore. It needs flint and steel or a fire charge or if firetick is on then a fire source from a burning wood adjacent to the tnt
EDIT1: Those warthogs in the nether are called Hoglins, they give raw porkchops and leather when killed.
Those nether pig villagers you saw were called "Piglins" which will barter items and one of them is ender pearls.
You should definitely play more of the nether update lolz
- TNT minecarts explode on impact. When Dream uses a TNT minecart to kill two people, he mined the leaf below the minecart with a pair of shears (which instantly mines the leaf) and making the minecart drop.
- Regular TNTs can't be punched to detonate any more. You need either fire or redstone. (Speaking of, you can easily craft a wooden button to set off the TNT...)
- The nether gold is a real thing. That goes with the new nether mob, the Piglins, which you can trade with using gold.
- Dying to intentional game design means dying to exploding bed.
I like how explosions are such a big part of this run throughout. Like it's legit an action movie!
- he's breaking the bushes because they drop sticks;
- the pig people are called piglins, if you give them a gold ingot or a gold item they will give you something in exchange, that's how dream got all the ender pearls;
- the hunters got the enchanted armors by buying enchanted books from a villager in the overworld;
- the hunters each have a compass that point in dream's direction, if dream is not in the same dimension as them the compass will say it and point to the last known location (the portal) so the hunters don't need to find the end portal with ender eyes if dream is in the end.
Thank you! I was positive there were explanations for all of these things I just was so awestruck it was hard to even posit a guess haha
I just want to mention that all of Dream’s friends are gods of Minecraft in their own right, it’s just dream is ever so slightly better
Oh yeah they seem like a legit crew, Dream is just Jack freaking Sparrow
@@YoBGS lol that’s probably the best way I’ve seen someone describe Dream

I’ll totally check out other Minecraft stuff. Or just stuff in general. What’s on your mind?
Technoblade! He's like, one of the best at PvP. And there's a small series called "The Potato War". I think it would be great to react. But already warning that in these videos (the Potato War videos in particular), there are very advanced things that are not from Minecraft Vanilla, they are added to the game by the Hypixel server.
5:42 I'm surprised you didn't noticed this: one of the hunters gets killed cause they were all punching the stone and accidentally they killed sydsnap (you see it on the chat), the dream kills the other one (you literally paused it the exact moment he killed him) and then the last one tried to escape but he used gravel instead of cobblestone and died.
Awesome reaction! I love seeing people see Dream for the first time! Please watch the first 4 hunter video and please react to it blind. It’s so good!
You got it! I think I'm gonna go back to the vs. 2 hunters and watch them in order from there. HOPEFULLY I learn a thing or two about MC along the way haha

I’d like to see you react to more of these. My favorite is speed runner vs assassin 2. It’s only one hunter (George), but the hunter can one shot the speed runner, so it’s a lot more thought out, because dream has to avoid even getting hit

Oh I'm so game! Sounds like most people think I should start at 2 hunters and go from there but I'll watch the rest on my own time
Piglins, the pigman villagers, can give you 4-8 enderpearls from trading gold. That’s were they came from..
I think you should watch the 3 hunters series as well. That would certainly answer your question about "what if they just gather materials and camp him in the End?" (No spoilers, guys!). There are five of them and all of them get better and better.
Edit: I saw another comment and realized you already knew that they'd tried the camping strat.
Haha I'm planning to go back to 2 hunters and watch them all from there!
It's not totally reliable, but he could have placed a piece of wood next to the portal. The lava would catch the wood on fire, which would then catch to the obsidian and light the portal. Looking for gravel may be quicker, but on the off chance he doesn't find any it would be good to have the backup starting to burn in the mean time.
Oh dang that’s a really really smart strat!
