I have been to looe many times as a child on family holidays it truly is my favourite places in the whole of the uk by far and allways will be beautiful area and stunning beaches and food is amazing 😍
Hi ! Anita here, who works at Thompsons Opticians, West Looe. It was great to meet you both! You certainly had beautiful weather & glad you had a good time. We'll be following more of your videos. Keep up the good work!!😊
Hi Marcus, awesome live video I enjoyed it. Beautiful view. How are you? I'm doing well. Have a great day see you next video. The food looks yummy and delicious 😊
My parents met in a bomb shelter during the Blitz in 1940, married in London and honeymooned in Looe. They loved it. I returned and stayed in a renovated fishers cottage in the heart of the town eighty years later. It was lovely. Fond memories of Looe. The locals don't like tourists much, which is unfortunate. Walk into a pub in the heart of Looe and you get the feeling you are not welcome.
Used to own a boat down in the harbor moored just above the bridge, and had some great times there. It used to be 'Beyond Paradise' in the 80's and early 90's, but since it's been heavily tourist orientated it's lost it's soul and charm of an actual working harbor and village, becoming just another commercialized tourist trap. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great place to visit even today, but not half as good as it used to be (and no it's not rose tinted glasses lol). One thing you don't want to do is get drawn in by the sunny days and want to live there thinking its like that all the time!, the winters can be really rough! with very high winds slamming waves over sea walls and the whole village floods with almost everything closed over winter, it's quite a contrast to the calm hot summer months!.
In Cornwall the fish and chip shops act like it’s rationed. In Whitby the fish and chip shops are nearly like home. Decent. In Stourport you get the real thing. Nowhere near the sea. Bizarre.
Watch out for the seagulls with you're food ! Last time I was there I guessed I'd come under attack and had my pasty held firmly with two hands. Me 1 Seagull 0 !
For me it is just a little tired, aimed firmly at the mass tourist and with all that that attracts. Food is not great, don't get me wrong there are a few scattered decent restaurants (sardine factory, 50, Sarah's pasties) but most are very much below par. The local people are some of the most friendly and helpful people i have met. Just looks a little run down
More Cornwall, the village of Polperro near Looe th-cam.com/video/sIypjeZVigA/w-d-xo.html
This brought back a lot of happy memories. Spent many happy camping holidays in Looe as a child( I’m now 73.) Haven’t been back since the 1970s .
Glad it brought back some happy memories. We love the place.

Don't worry. Locals are the same everywhere but if it wasn't for tourists, those pubs would probably be shut.

Yep, we live on the coast ourselves. We actually like the sea in the winter
