Mevagissey is my favourite Place in Cornwall. Wonderful flashback to my last Vacation . We had so much fun with crab fishing at the harbor and drinking cold Korev at She sells. And we had a lovely visit by a seal in the harbor. Ist was such a great time. Thank you for remind me.
My friend & I spent several days in Mevagissey last May & absolutely loved it, though the parking was a little awkward to say the least. Our hostess arranged parking in front of another house for us further uphill so it was a hike to get the car each morning to go visit The Eden Project & The Lost Gardens Of Heligan. We enjoyed scrumptious fish pie in the Fountain Inn. Such a gorgeous village. Thanks for the revisit.
I THINK YOU PROBABLY HAVE ONE OF THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD, VISITING ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL TOWNS, WORKING IN THE FRESH AIR, WORKING FOR YOURSELF, I HOPE YOU MAKE A GOOD LIVING FROM IT, BECAUSE YOU BRING LOTS OF JOY TO THOSE WHO CAN'T GO AND VISIT.
Mevagissy is another awesome place where you feel like you have went back in time, it is very beautiful with breathtaking views of the ocean and once again it is another awesome area of Cornwall that is beautiful and can't wait for the next part of Cornwall thank you. 🇬🇧🎵🎶🎼🇬🇧
Another of our favourites! You are really showcasing this gorgeous county and the weather seems to have been very kind for you too!! Hats off to you mate 👌🙌🙌
Absolutely fabulous! I love your high quality videos, they really do these amazing Cornish villages justice. Thanks so much for sharing, makes me miss the UK...why did I move to New Zealand, I could've just moved to Cornwall? LOL! :)
The film Johnny Frenchman was filmed in Mevagissy in 1944, it was to have been part filmed in Brittany but was still under German control, so Mevagissy was split into two halves to portray itself to the film. I remember it well, the villagers were involved as extras, I was in the French half of the village. The actors were Tom Walls with Patricia Roc as his daughter, a French lady, Francoise Rosay was representing the enemy, as it were, the plot was about a fishing war between the Cornish fishermen and the Brittany poachers.
I have to say, I think Mevagissey is one of those little hidden secret places. The fewer people know about it, the better it is for those that do!! I went here as a child with my parents many years ago. We stayed at Gorran Haven which is close by. Over the years it looks like it has barely changed. What I like about Mevagissey is it's touristy without being too touristy. Still the locals doing local things, a full working harbour, the odd gift shop here and there and pubs (and there are quite a few for a small seaside village!). It has all the charm of Cornwall without the arcades and other trappings of the North Cornish coast, which is why I prefer the South Cornish coast so much. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it isn't over commercialised like some places. Great video.
I am there next week from Wednesday morning until Friday. Can anyone recommend any places to visit within walking distance? As well as any good spots for breakfast and dinner ❤
