Piet jou beeldmateriaal is onbeskryflik! Dankie!
Groete Kobus van Petrusburg in die Vrystaat...🦌🥃
Piet, amazing scenery, nice take down, question, have you any thoughts on coming to Scotland to do a deer cull,?
I really appreciate the amount of respect you have for the animal Piet. Well done. Beautiful sable. This is what hunting is about!
Net n gedagte
I am not a hunter, however I enjoy my drives to the open desert where it is quiet and peaceful and shoot my long range rifle.
Awesome video!
Weereens baie dankie. Baie geluk met daai pragtigge bok👍
Thank you Piet and crew for taking us along on your Sable hunt. Magnificent animal! Fantastic scenery! Great film crew! The photography was awesome! The ability to keep everything in the shot, while traversing that type of terrain was an amazing feat!
Thank you for this video.
One of my favourite Edits of all time
Man this trip was incredible
The cinematography just gets better with each video!
So beautiful. I miss the Karoo. Even as a hunter my heart is heavy with the fall of such a beautiful bull. No doubt the younger bulls will be thrilled at the new mating opportunities .... Awesome camera work!
A success with precise accuracy is very satisfying when hunting greetings from a hobby from Indonesia 👍👍👍
Awesome Sable trophy Piet congrats.
The photography was flippen epic !! Nice camera work and editing !
Top class hunting video. Magnificent animal trophy animal. A true example of the full range of skills needed to hunt successfully, showing the best gun does not eliminate careful bullet selection and placement. Congratulations
Might be my favorite video yet
Congratulations, amazing shot !
The shake-cam clips and usually would shoot in the head narrative lend weight to the theory the old fashioned way of stalking closer with basic effective toy-free equipment still has validity.
It's provided an excellent experience still, and the means to preserve some of the species that would otherwise probably be locally (or entirely) extinct if not for canned hunts.
BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you! Cheers!
On two occasions, I have seen lead core bullets fail to penetrate through a shoulder of a mule deer when shot at 100 yards and less with a muzzle velocity of 2980-3000 fps. Both occasions were 165 gr 30 cal bullets. I believe there are fewer issues at close range, with lead core bullets, when speed is kept under 2950 fps. I'm glad you were able to find it and finish it off. No hunter wants this to happen, and it makes you feel worse when you don't find it again.
Over-speed & power limit some calibres effectiveness. Going right through can be a problem too. Some combinations simply kill better, those used by professionals shooting volume are saying something if they are consistent. Probably more have been shot with .308 & .303 around 24-2600 than the rest combined, & most pros will be using a .308 when serious. The 7x57 is one that performs above its weight, but toys will be toys.
!!!!! Had me on the edge of my seat for the entire video. Wow!!!! What a majestic animal and what an incredible hunt. 10 out of 10 for some serious tracking. Well done to the entire team and thanks for an awesome video and sharing this with all.👊👊👊
love watching your hunts. Helps that you are a precison shotter.
Piet!! My heart was racing it felt like i was walking in the back. Once again you show us the good, the bad and the heart racing. So much respect keep up the good work.

Amazing videography! Loved the video, the sound quality and the scenery. Well done on a great hunt and a great video Piet. Keep it up!
Many thanks!
Watching this while working on my new hunting loads for the upcoming hunting season... Was not happening while this video played out lol.
It's one thing to go out on a hunt and bag an amazing trophy. But to film it and capture money shots like that, is just phenomenal. Huge congratulations on a successful hunt!
Only about 11 weeks to go for hunting season here in Alberta, Canada and it's content like his that helps get me through until then!
what a wonderful animal amazing
Thanks for this dream of a hunting video Piet. What a beautiful landscape. Always a pleasure to see hunting videos from you. Right on budy. Greatings from Germany
Beautiful animal. the entire hunt was very well recorded and presented. congratulations and great job.
What an absolute beautiful animal. I almost started getting emotional and I wasn’t even there! What a cool experience and inspires me to go do something like that.
Baie mooi Trofee!! Knap gedaan aan almal. Geluk Piet.👍👍
God bless you and your family and friends and thank you for sharing the bounty with us.
Spectacular scenery, fantastic hunt 👌 thank you for sharing this with us 👍
Congratulations what a gorgeous animal. Glad you found him before darkness! Reminds of a fallow deer a friend shot years ago. Your heart stops and doubt takes over! Well done good follow up!
Brilliant video, well done. In my top 3 viewing pleasures of the past couple of days along with the Springboks beating the Wallabies and Dricus "Stillknox"'s awesome performance!!!
Thank Pieter!! This was an amazing video to watch - love the 4K stuff, looks so much cleaner.
Congratulations on your massive Sable Bull 👍🏻

Great film, P. Looks some place.....
Baie baie geluk Pieter, awesome awesome dier 👍💪
Top-notch content as always!
Well done ! Great video ! 🔥 Spectacular Sable and Sunset.😻
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video
Wonderful video Piet 👍🏻 Not often one can hunt such a beautiful animal. Well done 😀 A few comments for discussion: 1. As he was quartering toward you, perhaps your shot could have been more to the front ? (Absence of blood, even from the nose, says no lungs hit) 2. I am assuming you are using the 156g Berger EOLs ? If so, I wonder if they are less forgiving than say a Nosler Accubond etc., on these bigger animals, if the shot is slightly off ? 3. It is always unsettling to wound an animal. But full credit, you followed up and finished him quickly. This is part of the challenge of hunting. 4. Overall, a great hunt for a magnificent trophy in a beautiful location. (What about that rhino) 🤣Great memories. Awesome stuff 💪🏻👏🏻
Appreciate the feedback, cut him open and lungs and heart was wrekt! But yes, shot could have been more forward. Hind sight always 20/20 you know 🥹
you captured the experience perfectly. this is why I've become a patreon subscriber! you put in the effort to produce something that makes the view feel like they are there.
Welcome aboard!
Wow watching ti's video I felt all the emotions with you. What an awesome sable bull. Good shooting but never be so hard on yourself. Awesome.
Congratulations! And well done on the making of the video - Top class job indeed
Thank you so much 😀
I learned early on that first shot admiration will bite you in the ass. Always take the second, third, etc. shot when you have it.
But well done, good hunt and good bull. Congratulations.
Great video Piet.
I shot my sable in Zim with a 7mm STW and 150 XBT. Two broadside shots ( he spun around ) and then a spine shot as he ran directly away. Neither broadside shot exited and they were homogenous bullets. A sable is built like a beer keg. I wouldn’t hunt one again with anything smaller than a 375 and a 270gr bullet.
What bullet were you using in your rifle?
piele shots bud!!
I'm so happy for you to have such an awesome hunt! That animal was amazingly tough to take that first shot like a slap on the ass 😂 congratulations friend 🎉
Good shooting broo... 👍👍👍
Great shooting. 6.5 is a Lazer but the magnum 30cal's is always better for African big game
Well done on tracking him down and putting him down
Did you recover the bullet or look inside the animal to see if any vital organs were hit
Yes we did, both heart and lungs had major trauma. Still blows my mind he didnt go down.
@@IMPACTSHOOTING I can't see from the footage. Was there an exit wound on the first shot?
Wow! Epic! Congratz on that magnificent bull! 🙌🎉 Love your hunting vids! 🤩 How did it look internally when they skinned him? Looks like there was somewhat on an angle so maybe the bullet deflected on that massive shoulder blade and directed the bullet and energy more along the side and towards the stomach area? Never the less. With an happy ending like this, the memory and trophy gets even more memorable. 👍
Awesome video as usual and a great memory for you with this magnificiant Sable. Thank you for the sharing Piet. Did you see the gutting to look how the bullet performed inside the animal ? It's always interesting to see the bullet performance and maybe to recover it or parts of it. Since a big faillure, I don't really trust Berger bullets anymore on such big game shot at close range. They can big too soft and I prefer a tougher bullet that stays together like bonded bullets or Barnes TTSX to reach vitals whatever angle and pass trough the animal, offering more chance to leave a good blood trail.
Nice job 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Congrats Pieter on a fantastic hunt. You have no need to explain to anyone about your hunting or shot placement. Your a good person, hunter and very ethical.
Loved watching and thank you for sharing. Rock on Bru 🤘😎
How big is the Karoo? Nice hunt! The Sable is without a doubt the most beautiful animal in Africa.
Could you do a video on a traditional potjie pot meal. I've heard of them here in the states but never have seen one prepared. Thank you
Best translation ever... nout ons kak = we have a problem 😂. Baie mooi!
😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome video. Thought for a sec it was a Jurassic park trailer with the giraffes running. Every hunting video is getting better than the previous. do it
Need a video on the new Burris Varracity PH
Any thoughts about changing the bullet to a more traditional hunting bullet? Love the weight of the 156 eol, but not super impressed with the performance here… I’m sure the animals are a lot tougher down there though ;)
Fantastic Sable, congratulations! I was lucky enough to kill a really nice Sable in Limpopo last year. I think they are the most beautiful antelope. The video quality and production value is as good as they get. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Love all your content. Keep it up!
Mega sweep💪
I see you have vortex binoculars. What model do you use? And what's your opinion about them?
So Pieter where did the first shot actually land. In the video it appeared to be quartering towards you or was that just the view from the camera. Congratulations on the Bull and more importantly actually showing that part of the video! I'm sure that many would have edited that part out completely!
Epic
Watse drone het jy?
@impactshooting, what could've happend on shot number one is the bullet zipped through as if it was a solid, it actually happened to my friend also hunting with berger bullets in his 308, shot at an impala at 100m and the bullet never mushroomed, when he took a shot at 300m at the same ram he just shot at a 100m the bullet opened up beautifully and he dropped in his tracks, after inspection of the animal he noted the first shot zipped through and through without opening up at all
Nice animal mate
Yes Piet.
Pieter, im just wondering, and i am sure you will have a great reason and explanation. Your turrent goes up 25m or Yards (whichever but it doesnt matter) and it goes up with 2 clicks each time, except from 425 to 450. Why would that be. I would think with bullet drop the clicks would get more the further you go.
What bullets are you using? Mooi groot bok daai! Geluk!
Careful holding brass in your mouth man! I chipped one of my front teeth in NZ holding a case just like you were when taking a follow up shot! 😂🤦🏼♂️ great vid, and great animal!
What caliber? Did not understand. 6,5 Swedish?
cool video, but just one questions, why would you have a silencer pouch on your silencer? those would not make a difference on the mirage if your only shooting 1or 2 shots in quick succession?
Because always having it on is just easier 🎯
wish i had the money for one of these beauty's
Sorry what caliber what's this? And nice cstch
African Animals are something different. Great video,
Bullet disintegrated on the shoulder is my Guess. African built tough
Bevlip manne🎉
Mooi bul
Great video and beautiful sable!
Favourite part: Nou’t ons kak
Translation: Now we have a problem.
Lekker gelag!
Thanks! 😃
What tripod is he using?
Vortex Radian
lekker piet
agreed
My dream African trophy
