Nice , real nice 👍. Now let’s see what sort of accuracy you can get out of the Howa 300PRC with the MDT ESS chassis and Vortex Razor scope. There are some shooters who turn their noses up at cheap Howa rifles, but shooters who have shot them know that these rifles are accurate enough for what they are used for.

Piet, I love your channel. You are the one that introduced me to MDT and I have done two truly complete builds using MDT for Stock, chassis, scope mount and grip. My builds start with just an action, Zermatt TL3; Proof Research Carbon fiber wrapped barrel, and TriggerTech Trigger. If I understand some of your older videos you have to start with a barreled action in South Africa. Fortunately, we don’t have to do that here in the states.

Howa 1500/Weatherby Vanguards use the same trigger that is NOT the same as the remington 700

How heavy is it with everything on it?
I have a Bargara 300prc with a muzzle and a silencer now aswell, but i would like to change my GRS Warg stock for MDT n26 folding stock. Unfortunately with Canadian law changes it's difficult to get one into new Zealand, even through a gun shop.😢

Hi daar. Great video soos gewoonlik. Hoe lank was die aflewering van jou parte? Ek woon in Engeland en het n LSS XL bestel vir my remington 700 en wag nou 20 weke. Is dit al tyd om te begin worrie of is ek net ongeduldig? Ek moet bysit dit is vir n linkerhandse aksie so dit is nie "of the shelf nie".

Friendly tip:
You don’t need to apply pressure to the scope rail while installing it.. it uses countersunk screws, push as much as you want, it won’t change where the rail ends up 😂
Friendly tip...
The bottom of the countersunk holes in the scope rail are flat and larger than the screw head...
The face of the screw head is flat also...
The rail isn't threaded and the holes that the screws protrude through are a bit over sized as well to allow for variations in the action screw hole spacing...
All of these variables allow for movement so that the 8 holes between the rail and action can line up....
MDT scope rails have a "recoil lug" that interface with the front of the actons ejection port....
If that "recoil lug" isn't firmly pressed against the front of the action, the rail and 2 pound scope attached to it WILL move forward like battering ram during recoil especially with a magnum cartridge and can sheer off the screws used to attach the rail to the action...
Piet's method is the correct way to do this process. The only thing that I do differently is add a few drops of thread locker between the action and rail to "glue" it to the action.
Hey, would anyone know what kind of rifle he is using as the base for this? it looks like a Remington Model 700 LA but not 100% sure? just would love to build this platform when I can apply full bore myself. Please and thank you =]
Now you just have to put 100 rounds through it, and retorque the action screws.
That's actually what MDT recommends. Which is why anytime someone suggests I take the action out of my chassis to clean, I laugh. Either they have a way higher ammo budget than me or their action screws aren't properly torqued.

They’re just weights, no special purpose to them besides weighing the rifle down
@@TrolloTV they're to put the center of gravity of the rifle exactly where you want it, as well as to help dampen recoil. Not just to "weigh it down"

You don't just make the rifle heavier for the sake of making it heavier...
The POINT of "more weight" is because a heavier rifle will impart less recoil to the shooter, and the placement of the weights changes the center of gravity of the rifle.
Not sure swapping a stock for a chassis is considered a custom build…

it's the Varmint barrel, believe it is 20mm in diameter.
To me, a custom rifle build involves a lathe, barrel threading and action truing, ect. Not screwing together a stock. LOL

Where is everyone finding mdt chassis that fits 300 prc? Mdt is saying the howa 1500 la chassis will not fit 300 prc, the magwell is too short.
