    I've had a V4 for about a year and it is so much better than the RCBS Chargemaster Pro. I often load the same type of "coffee" as you were using here and when I calibrate the scales before dispensing a new brand of coffee, I find very few over charges (maybe 2-3 in a 50 round batch). Also, if a charge goes over weight, I just dump like 1 or less grains back into the hopper, put the cup on the scales and it loads the final grain much faster than if you dump the entire charge. The app works well and is easy to adjust up or down 1, 0.10 or 0.010 grains, etc. i have not used the Super trickler, but I don't think there is big advantage over the V4. It seems the Super trickler is a bit more high tech, but less easy to use for over charges, spills and loading/changing powder. Keep up the good work.

    I’ve run both extensively, the ST has massive problems. The V4 works well and is easy to tune, gotta use the buffer on the apps new update. If you had that many overthrows you didn’t tune correctly

    Just wait till you get used to the supertrickler gen2. When you start adjusting the pulse rate and bulk charge speed. You will also not only speed up but your accuracy jumps way higher. Good luck

    I was previously using the Lyman Gen 6 dispenser but now have the supertrickler. I have only loaded with it 4 times. When it arrived I set it up quickly, upgraded the Firmware to 2.0 and loaded 100 rounds of 300 PRC using H1000. It did a nice job and learned to powder quickly. Next I used it with CFE 223 for some 224 Valkyrie. It did well again but CFE223 was very messy and required a lot of cleanup throughout the loading process. Then I updated the Firmware to 2.3 and loaded 20 rounds 2x about 2 days apart. It was a bit of a nightmare and I think I will downgrade back to 2.0 (unless they have sorted out 2.3). Bottom line when it works I love it. If you don't plan to be an enthusiast you may not like this one. But for me I think I will eventually come to love it.

    I just used my v4 an hour ago. I had 2 overcharges out of 80. And it's very quick... plus I use 2 cups. There is no downtime. I don't see how the ST can help me in any way over the AT v4.

    This to me is a Chevy vs. Ford thing. You’ll always have guys favoring the Chevy over Ford. I don’t get the obsession with speed over accuracy with these units. I have the V4 as the Supertrickler was not released yet when I purchased. Properly calibrated and tuned, with a somewhat courser ground of “coffee”, I get nearly 96% accuracy with average times of 10-11 seconds per charge. Our time is valuable, yes, but I will take accuracy over shear speed every time, just as I will take accuracy over speed at the “coffee” range. Either of these two units are in a different world from the Chargemaster.

    I have the V4 and it is quite accurate with the powders that I load. One timesaving trick is to buy a cheap tweezer with a sharp tapered tip.
    If the V4 overthrows, just use the tweezer to pull out a grain and put it back in the hopper. Takes maybe 3 seconds. There is no need to dump and dispense again.

    • @Teolulz

      @@Teolulz I would say maybe one out of every 10 loads. It handles most powders quite well. The only challenge is N570 because it's a huge stick powder. For this issue, I just use a round washer under the rear of the unit to tilt it forward a very slight bit to help it dispense consistently.

    For econamy of time you should be seating bullets as the powder is thrown. Both systems will have a charge ready by the time you're ready and you wont spend a second of your time watching powder fall.
    I see you get there near the end.
    For removing powder from the v4 the powder tube can be removed and used to catch the powder out the back in about 3 seconds. Then just tap the app to spin both tubes and it's clean. I don't have the ST but it's hard to imagine a faster system to switch powders on than the v4.

    #Super Trickler

  • @tyler6147
    @tyler6147 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't have either, but when I purchase one it will be the super trickler. It allows you to save load data from a bunch of different cartridges. In other words its way more diverse. You can switch from .223 to whatever with just a couple of buttons. If you have just one charge that you are doing, say like an F Class guy--- then either would work. For me though I shoot lots of different things. Overall after researching I am committed to the Super Trickler.

    • @rvrski1
      @rvrski1 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only benefit I can see is if the super trickler saves the powder calibration to powder type, even then I think I’d still calibrate before a session. As for the charge makes no difference if I had to search for a cartridge in a menu or tap in the charge from my load data app or book.

    • @tyler6147
      @tyler6147 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rvrski1 Yes, it does that. The Super Trickler can be tuned however you like. You can make it faster but with slightly less accuracy, or a little bit slower and right on every time. You can set the powder charge and all that PER POWDER and save it as a preset, including the desired speed setting. The AI function will run through until it gets things exactly right. In other words it's sort of 'self calibrating' according to the powder type and user preferences. In short, once you have the Super Trickler set for a given powder and charge and so forth it eliminates the need to 're-calibrate' before every session. I think you have to let it run for a while to allow it to get it's bearings with a specific setup, but once you do that one time you never have to mess with that part again (for that specific charge), and it's saved to memory and can be recalled at any time. With the V4 or whatever you have to calibrate every time you want to switch something, or at least that's my understanding.
      Pete did a good test, but he didn't even scratch on why these are different. Based on the test in the video it won't matter very much at all which one you use. There are other tests and settings though that set these two machines apart. Based on other stuff they are very different.

    • @tyler6147
      @tyler6147 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rvrski1 If I am not mistaken the Super Trickler has an on board database of all current powders. It is of course expandable for new powders as well. You can pick from the list and fine tune your speed and whatnot and save it to be recalled any time by a few button pushes.

    • @rvrski1
      @rvrski1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tyler6147 From your description of the ST the V4 behaves the same way, the exception being the saving of the cartridge, calibration setup and charge weight to a file.
      Auto calibration of the V4 takes around 30-40 seconds~ and primes the tubes at the same time. Entering a manual calibration takes about the same time but the tubes won’t be charged (another 10 seconds~).
      Tapping in a charge weight takes less than 2 seconds.
      Even if the V4 app had a load recording function I wouldn’t bother with it as most of us record total load and shooting specs in either proprietary software or book form.
      Personally I don’t see any major advantages over a V4 if they’re both set up for optimal performance.
      As I mentioned in my post, the next quantum leap will be automated case charging and checking and then a progressive press model turning a small hand loading space into ammo inc…..
