Just got back today after 4 days camping using my Helm Compact 2. It’s easy, functional, bomb proof, could push to 4 seasons but still great in hot weather and looks great too. So simple to put up and pack down, literally minutes. Fold into thirds and bingo. Get the groundsheet too. Really helps the porch arrangement. Highly recommend.
Love my Helm Compact 1. Camped in it nearly every night on my South Downs Way 100-mile hike this year. Didn't let me down at all. Solid, good value and just so so reliable.

I got the Helm 3 compact based on your reviews of the Helm 2 for my wife and I, using your code last time you had it, replacing the MSR Elixir 3 we had before, that just refused to stay waterproof.
It's a fantastic tent that has stood up to rain and wind like a trooper, and we absolutely love it.
It's a great tent. We've used it on multi day kayak trips and a few overnight wild camps by splitting the load. Perfect size for the two of us. Bought the footprint too, which gives the groundsheet extra protection when we've pitched up in the dark and not managed to properly inspect the area for sharp sticks and thorns etc. So easy to pitch and pack up 👍👍
So many choices. I still have my eye firmly on the Vern 1 I think

Well-timed video - just got back this afternoon from a fab wild camp in the Peak District using my Helm 1 Compact. I can see why you have fond feelings for the Helm - what a great, reliable, tent series. I also use the official footprint - yes, it adds a small extra weight, but I think it's worth it, as it keeps sheep poo off the bottom of the tent, provides flooring for the porch and I reckon it might help with condensation by keeping more of the ground covered (not that condensation has ever been much of an issue).
Going to get the helm 3, as my wife will now be joining me, looks so spacious inside
I absolutely love my Helm 2 compact. It's heavy for a multi day, but it's so oooo good.

We just did an overnight wild camp in the mountains of Krygystan and rented a tent from an outfitter- 2.9kg…. Fortunately we can share the weight between two. No moon that night, wish I could share the star scape on here! Amazing
Had the compact 2 for a few years now, by far my favourite for when I’m solo, over my Hille, dare I say? Might look into this for the same reasons as yeself. Been using an OEX Jackal 3 for me and the missus or me and me little fella for a while, which, to be fair, for a cheapish tent, it’s been put through its paces and it’s a very sturdy, roomy and enjoyable tent to be honest but I wouldn’t want to be in it in serious weather like 😂, definitely not exposed. But my Helm has done bits, so this seems like an obvious choice, especially with your stamp of approval lad.

I’m looking for 3 man tent for 2 people to sleep in , this tent looks like the one, I’m currently using a vango soul 200 that I got in 2016 and still using that cost £40 but now my wife will be joining me so need a bigger tent,the poles broke once and had to replace them,they were fibreglass, plus there wasn’t much space to get dressed and couldn’t sit up in it, seen great reviews of this tent

Just smashed another few days on the South West Coast Path with my Compact 2 (which i bought using one of your magical discount codes ) and love it. Ive got a longer thru hike coming up and REALLY want to take it but have a tough decision to make if i want the comfort at night of my Helm or the lighter weight and space saving of the Lanshan 2 during the walk. Tough decision, i'd definitely feel safer in the Helm (Walnut shell) if its windy or cold.
Hope we get to see some spear fishing before summer ends ❤
Got the Helm compact 2 last year (went for the 2 as I need to fit 2 border collies in with me). What a tent though. I love it.

I've had the Helm 1 Compact for about 9 months and I've done 3 camps in it. At first it felt very small, with all the winter kit in side, but I'm coming to terms with it as my 3 season hill tent when I don't need to take so many donkey's and parrots with me on the hill. I've got the Panacea 2 for 4 season/long night in the tent use, even though it's only spec'd as a 3 season tent. After seeing what Paul Messner's Panacea coped with on the edge of Kinder, it will do for me. ATB Hazey.
Andy, I've got the Northern Lite - same design as the panacea. Incredibly strong when you use trekking poles in it!
@@steviesteve750 Hi - I have no doubt - I've yet to use the Panacea, but, I've had a tent from this company since the 90's - Quasar, made in the UK before they rebranded under Terra Nova. It's another bombproof shelter although it's showing it's age now.

I have done lots of camping before but usually on motorcycle trips which means carrying everything with me on the motorbike but on the other hand I have done lots of long distance walking but then usually staying in hostels in Spain sometimes sleeping outside just in sleeping bag but I have always watched your videos and the wild camping you do and swimming in cold water intrigues me I do Believe that we do need Pushed outside our comfort zones and this is why I am sending you this message I would love to join you on one of your hiking camping trips I am 52 years of age 16 years ago I had a large intestine removed which is the main organ for dehydration but I have proven to many people that this is not a problem with me longest walk I ever done 650 miles across France and Spain in summer high temperatures and dehydration did not cause me any problems but usually people with my condition have problems but in 16 years I have figured out how to eat properly and hydrate properly to increase more energy in the body and more hydration even for normal people I know that most of them are doing things wrong That you can increase more energy and hydration in the body if you do things my way Please get back to me if you would be interested and perhaps sometime meeting up

Hi I need some advice, we have just attempted the south downs way. But our packs were heavy we got to half way. But going to come back with lighter gear looking at the lanshan trekking pole tent. Does this tent work with any pole? Also back packs what do you suggest and anything else you can suggest we go light weight on. Many thank Jess

i wonder if it can be double poled,or perhaps theclong pole could be replaced with a ticker stronger pole from some other tent? any ideas?

very true, I recently bought and used a helm 2 compact. Super luxury for one, just be a bit gentle on the zips, I see too many reviews where they rive them up and down mercilessly.

I have helm compact 1. Had it out in all Weathers and its always kept me warm n dry ans even stands up to high winds. Cost me £130. Think they cost a bit more now tho
Controversial: aligning the door to the views. Surely align the door to be out of the wind, so you can keep the door open when raining and/or when sleeping. 😉
Even for the little extra weight and size i still.prefer the cosmitto 😅
Im.a former soldier so weight doesnt bother me 💪

I am very passionate about boosting the bodies immune system the way I do things is through feeding my gut bacteria with the right food also through fasting but I do realise it is also important I see what you do with the cold water swims this is also good for stimulating the blood flow in the body and boosting The bodies immune system I am a person who does not have a large intestine which is the main organ for dehydration walked and also Run for many days over the Pyrenees mountains in 30° heat with people half my age and many nights of drinking too much red wine I never had a problem the next day and walking or running with them I noticed that they all had a problem with hangovers but I did not and then they all noticed after a few weeks and started doing things my way
